Season 4 - Episode 14 - during 'Taking the Fall'

November 22, 2015

'No no no no no'. It was the only word running through her mind in the elevator after Tao and Provenza escorted her through. She nodded to the officer set up to give her a ride to the hospital. She took the opportunity because there was no way she could drive right now. 'No Andy no no no no …'

Sitting in the passenger's seat, she was grateful to the young man next to her for not speaking. She stared out of the window and thought that this morning could very well be the last time she'd speak with Andy, and she'd been annoyed, even a little angry. She got onto him again for sneaking into her bed last night. He'd done it often and she did love it, but he wasn't doing what he was supposed to and she did not like that.

She woke in his arms. Smiling, she knew that she couldn't let him see. He never did what he was told.

"Your mother must have had a difficult time with you," she whispered against him.

"She tried very hard with us, but it didn't always work."

"Obviously … hmmm," she squeezed him then quickly maneuvered away, avoiding his hand trying to stop her. She was annoyed.

She stood from the bed, slowly moving to the closet to change. She hadn't been called in yet, so she wanted to get the condo 'Food Day' ready. Pumpkins, orange and red garland, that wreath she found last November … she loved fall. She loved decorating.

"But remember, I had an older and younger brother, so I got away with a lot."

"Blamed everything on them?"

"Yep."

"Well, I'm sure she was grateful when you joined the force."

"Hell yeah." He laughed.

She sat next to him after dressing. He was still under the covers. "Look, I love you, Andy, but the rules were to …"

"I don't care. I need to be next to you."

"Andy-"

He rolled his eyes dramatically.

"Fine, I have to go …" Annoyed.

"You're leaving?"

"I'm decorating. Stay here since you love my damn bed so much."

"It's not the bed-"

She walked out.

He rolled his eyes again. He loved her, but not all of her rules.

She received the call to get to the morgue from Provenza and gave up on the decorating. Andy was still in her bed, pouting.

She changed, threw on make-up, and packed up quickly, kissing his lips, telling him to rest, hearing more complaining from him, and she didn't have time to argue anymore, so she left it at that. She didn't know … she didn't think … this was probably the first time she left feeling even a little angry at him.

'No no no no no …"

She imagined never getting a kiss from him … never hugging him … she let the tears fall … she imagined his funeral … his kids … Emily and Ricky … she closed her eyes. She couldn't …

Walking through the hospital doors, she had to concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other … she saw Rusty … bloody shirt … her heart broke for her youngest, but why the HELL would he leave that on? … Went through the motions. She called his doctor, called Sandra, and left a message for his son, texting him and Nicole as well. She sat with Rusty and waited.

After a moment of sitting silently, Rusty took her hand.

She wanted to cry.

'No no no no no … not now, not …' she thought as she closed her eyes. They'd only really been together for four months, but really she's loved him so much longer. She couldn't live without him. She can't. 'No no no no no …'

"Did you call Emily?" Rusty asked softly.

She couldn't stop the tears, but wiped furiously. "I can't right now."

"Do you want me to?"

She didn't know. She couldn't make decisions right now. Who was this person?

"No," he answered his own question, noticing she had no clue what to say, "... she'd force me to give you the phone."

Sharon nodded. Four months. That's all they'd had. That's all she'd given them. She felt so stupid for not seeing him years ago … realizing who he was a decade ago ... They'd wasted so much time.

The doctor walked up … they could go to his room … he's okay … still have to run more tests … she breathed.

Rusty texted Provenza as they were led to another waiting area, being told they could go in soon.

Okay.

Okay.

He's okay. She would lecture herself later at how ridiculous she was being, but just couldn't help it now.

She breathed, taking out her phone.

"Hey Mommmmyyyy," Emily greeted her usual way.

"Hey, love. Alright, so, Andy is okay-"

"What happened?!" Emily nearly yelled.

"He passed out, hit his head, Rusty called 911, we're at the hospital and he's in a room. We're about to go in to see him. He's okay, Em."

"I'll be there tonight."

"No ma'am."

Silence.

"Emily," Sharon warned.

"I have to-"

"No. You don't. Just wait. You are so busy, darlin'."

"None of that matters! Mom!"

Rusty held his hand out for the phone. Sharon was too frustrated to speak. No one minded her anymore.

"Emily," he greeted, "Hey. Hold off on coming. Let us see him first, you speak with him … it's … he's okay, the doctor said."

"... and Mom?"

Rusty looked at her, looking at him. "Good, scared, but okay, Em. Do what she says, please."

Sharon tuned them out as she saw the nurse appear. Rusty assured Emily that he'd call her back, asking her to call Ricky and Andy would be the one to call them both in a little bit. He wanted to see Andy.

She walked in the hospital room behind the nurse and saw him in the bed. Her heart settled a bit. He smiled to her. She immediately sat next to him, ran her fingers through his hair, looking at his forehead closely, and kissing his lips … and stayed there, moving her kisses around his face, uncaring that Rusty was in the room. No words yet, she placed her hand over his heart, watched him breathe … kissed him again slowly.

"I fell," he grunted when she pulled back, adjusting in the bed, "I'm okay."

She met his eyes. "I love you," she ran her fingers over his face and hair. "I'm so sorry for this-"

"Are you apologizing for this morning?" He took her hand. "Babe, come here," he held his arms up.

She hugged him, moving to where she could more comfortably.

"Please don't apologize when I was the asshole." Of course she would beat herself up. His was pissed at himself.

She shook her head. He just wanted to be close to her, sleep next to her … she couldn't be mad at that. She was frustrated with herself.

She kissed him again, staying there for a while. "I love you," she whispered and got up, keeping his hand in hers.

He met Rusty's eyes. "Hey kid, thanks for everything … I'm sorry …"

"It's okay, Lieutenant … Andy … I'm really glad that you're okay."

"Me too," he smiled at him, then looked up to Sharon.

"Can I have my phone?"

Rusty handed it over.

"I called Sandra and left a message for your kids …"

Andy nodded, pressing buttons on his phone.

He smiled up to her as he put the phone to his ear.

"Hey … yes … yep. Em, I know … connect Ricky … thanks sweetie … hey, yep, I'm okay. She's here and Rusty. Uh huh. I am." Silence on Andy's end … Sharon played with his fingers on her lap, bringing his hand to her lips as he smiled to her, listening to Emily try to justify flying in. "No. Stay put. Okay. Look, I'll call you a little later. Please stay put. You, too, and I'm fine …" Andy rolled his eyes and smiled at their mother again. "Yeah, here she is …" he gave her her children.

"Did you convince Em not to come?" Rusty asked.

"I think so … but we'll see." Andy grinned.

"Provenza is on his way." Rusty informed him as Sharon spoke with her kids, sitting next to Andy again.

"Oh, fantastic," Andy joked, receiving a 'shut up' kiss from his girlfriend.

Season 4 - Episode 17 - during '#FindKaylaWebber'

December 12, 2015

She was in her new favorite place. His bathtub. He had an amazing bathtub. Surprisingly to her, he liked baths sometimes. She loved them all of the times. He'd bought a few bath bombs and bubble bath and candles and set it up for her, started running the water when he saw her car pull in. She'd been surprised, and kissed him quickly, but focused on undressing and getting in. It was a rough day, early morning, and she was ready to de-stress. She thought he'd get in with her, but after she was in and comfy, he kissed her, turned down the lights, and went back to the kitchen.

He knew already when she truly needed alone time … plus, he was cooking and knew she hadn't eaten anything of substance since breakfast.

It had been a very rough day. A five-year-old girl dead … with a horrible mother they'd deal with tomorrow.

Rusty testified at Slider's sentencing hearing and had to talk with Gus. That kid and his procrastination … forcing him into uncomfortable situations just because he didn't want to discuss uncomfortable things. Andy shook his head. He understood, but wished Rusty could be more open. It was a process, he knew, and he'd be there for him through all of it. So would she. Andy smiled as he thought of her. His girlfriend, naked now in his tub. He just couldn't stop grinning.

After the table was set, she joined him in only a towel, hair still wet, leaning against his bedroom doorframe.

He stared, unmoving.

"You're drooling, Lieutenant."

He couldn't form words for a few seconds.

"God, you've never looked sexier … Captain." His fingers itched to pull the towel away, just wanting to rush over to her and kiss that smirk off of her beautiful face.

She moved to him slowly, instead, and wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning fully against him, brushing her lips against his ear.

"Mmmmm, I missed you." She hummed.

He nearly lost it all, right there.

"Smells good." She grinned and kissed his jaw, cheek, lips.

"You smell good," he deepened the kiss and tried to get the towel to fall.

"Stop," she giggled, pulling away, holding the towel.

"Get on the table," he ordered, not joking.

She narrowed her eyes at his piercing hers.

He pulled her to him after carefully loosening the towel, wrapping his arm around her bare back.

"Hmmmm, no. I'm going to change. We need to eat."

He hummed against her and didn't let her go for a long minute.

"Thank you for the bath. Join me next time, please?"

He nodded and just stood, couldn't speak, watching her retreat to his room to change, using the towel on her hair.

"So how's Rusty?" He asked when they sat close next to each other, unconsciously holding hands while they ate.

"He's okay, spoke with Gus … needed some alone time, I think.'

"Rough day for everyone."

She nodded and ate, looking over to him. "You okay?"

"Yeah, just … she … Kayla Weber, just fucking heartbreaking."

"I know." She agreed, sadly. "I'll be thinking of her for a while."

"Yeah, she's joining a long list of tragic endings I can't get out of my head."

"Hmmm."

"What was the hardest case you've had?"

She thought. "Too many to name."

They were quiet for a bit.

"Gracie," he mumbled. "She's … I think of her often."

She leaned into him, remembering that case.

"Just … god, I hate people."

She watched him closely.

He glanced to her when she didn't eat or move. "I love you," he squeezed her hand.

"I love you."

They ate in silence.

"Emily," she said.

"What about her?"

"That's one of mine … worst cases … remember the kidnapping from a few years back? Brother and sister? Her name is Emily and it just … it affected me more than I thought it would throughout the case. It wasn't a terrible ending for her, but while we were looking for her, I just …"

"You never said anything."

She kissed him. "We weren't close."

"Obviously," he felt horrible, "didn't even make the connection with her name and Em."

"Well, you wouldn't have… and I still probably wasn't a 'person' to you, then."

"Nah, you were. You'd won me over by then…"

"Ha." She said sarcastically. "I think I 'won' Tao over that day. Any time I can give him toys to play with, thermal imaging …" she smiled.

"When did you think you won me over?"

"When were you?"

"I asked first."

She rolled her eyes. Decided to let him win. "Day one, you surprised me."

He smiled. "You surprised me, too. Yeah, that first day when you took Rusty home … then when he ran off from me … your patience and immediately love for him, just … ya got me then."

"That asshole Andy Flynn … wasn't as much of an asshole he made himself out to be."

"You shouldn't curse if you don't like it." He smiled into a kiss.

"Asshole is the nicest word I could use to describe you back then."

"You're right."

She kissed him. "When did you realize you were in love with me?"

"Nicole's wedding." He answered quickly. "You knew that. You were just … no words …" he thought about it, "... 'perfection' would do it."

She blushed a bit.

They ate for a while, he kissed her hand more than eating, though.

"I've missed you at the condo." She looked over to him. He'd moved out two weeks ago after recuperating from his surgery. She'd wanted to ask him to stay … just move in. Emily pressured her to ask him … to move in completely … or them all move into his house. Sharon was ready to move in with him ... and that frightened her more than she'd ever been before. Who was this person?

"I've missed it, too. Now that I can openly sleep with you," he kissed her quickly and ate.

She smiled. 'Openly' She kissed his lips quickly, his mouth full of food, and squeezed his hand. She was grateful that Rusty knew they were together in every sense now … so the sneaking around could stop after Andy moved back home. It would have been nice to know while Andy was recuperating, that Rusty knew all along, but she too was grateful they didn't. The rules were no exertion and she wouldn't have been able to stop herself most nights.

"I miss eating like this with you …" he kissed her hand, her lips, her neck, "... we couldn't in front of Rusty."

"We can't be all over each other in front of him, Andy … even years from now … you have to have some self-control."

He chuckled. Years from now.

She hummed against him when he started getting a little carried away, definitely not needing to have any control right now.

"Can we go to bed now?" He almost growled.

"Please."
