Welcome to the fifth chapter of Emblems and Heroes!

This chapter is actually an original chapter. It's one of the chapters that diverges this story from the canon events.

The Fire Emblem franchise belongs to Intelligent Systems. I only write this crossover for the fun, entertainment, and enjoyment of the readers.

Now, let us begin this chapter...

Back in the World of Zenith, Fjorm, the Princess of Nifl, stood tall and resolute near the Elyos Outrealm Gate. Her icy blue eyes surveyed the mage Heroes who were diligently working to activate the gate and bring aid to their beloved Summoner, Kiran.

Among the mages, Canas, a knowledgeable mage hailing from Elibe, approached Fjorm with a serious expression on his face. He cleared his throat before speaking. "Princess Fjorm, I have been monitoring the energy levels of the Elyos Outrealm Gate, and it seems to be slowly gathering power."

Fjorm furrowed her brows, her voice tinged with concern. "Slowly? But why is the energy-gathering process taking so long? We need to reach Kiran as soon as possible."

Just as Fjorm pondered the implications of the gate's sluggish progress, two more Heroes from Elibe, Pent and Louise, joined the conversation. Pent, the esteemed Mage General, spoke up with a sense of authority. "Princess Fjorm, I must inform you that the Elyos Outrealm Gate possesses one of the highest magic energy outputs among all the Outrealm Gates in Askr."

Fjorm's grimace deepened, a mix of frustration and realization etched on her face. "So, you're saying it will take even longer for the Order of Heroes to rescue and assist Kiran? We cannot afford any delays."

Pent nodded, his gaze steady and determined. "Indeed, Princess. The immense power required to activate the Elyos Outrealm Gate demands time. We must exercise patience and trust that our efforts will bear fruit."

Louise, Pent's wife and a skilled archer, chimed in with a reassuring tone. "Fjorm, my dear, have faith. Kiran himself has faced countless challenges with unyielding resolve. He will endure until our rescue and assistance arrive."

Fjorm took a deep breath, her eyes reflecting a mixture of determination and worry. "You're right, both of you. We must remain resolute and trust in Kiran's strength. We will not waver in our mission."

As the mage Heroes continued their work, Fjorm's gaze shifted back to the Elyos Outrealm Gate. The slow gathering of energy tested her patience, but she knew that time was a necessary sacrifice for their Summoner's well-being.

With renewed determination, Fjorm stood firm, ready to face any obstacles that stood in their way. The fate of Kiran and the Order of Heroes hung in the balance, and Fjorm vowed to do whatever it took to ensure his safe return.

And then, Fjorm's eyes widened as Lute, a young mage from the World of Magvel, spoke up with a hint of excitement in her voice. "Princess Fjorm, I have deduced something quite fascinating. It seems that each time Kiran summons a Hero, the Elyos Outrealm Gate is imbued with energy at a much faster rate than if we were to simply wait for it to fill up on its own."

Fjorm's mind raced as she processed Lute's revelation. "So, every time Kiran summons a Hero into Elyos, he unintentionally accelerates the magical energy within the Outrealm Gate? This is crucial information."

Realizing the importance of this discovery, Fjorm knew she had to inform Commander Anna immediately. "Thank you, Lute. Your insight is invaluable. I must relay this information to Commander Anna so she can devise a plan to utilize this knowledge."

Pent, ever the logical strategist, nodded in agreement. "Princess Fjorm, you're right. We should inform Commander Anna about this development. In the meantime, Louise, Canas, Lute, and I will continue our investigation of the Elyos Outrealm Gate."

Fjorm nodded, gratitude shining in her eyes. "Thank you all for your dedication. I trust in your abilities to uncover any further secrets the gate may hold."

As Pent, Louise, Canas, and Lute prepared to resume their work, Fjorm's gaze lingered on the Elyos Outrealm Gate. The realization that Kiran's actions had inadvertently been aiding their cause filled her with a sense of hope.

With newfound determination, Fjorm turned to Pent. "Please, keep me updated on any significant findings. We must use this knowledge to our advantage."

Pent, his expression resolute, replied, "Of course, Princess Fjorm. We will not rest until we uncover the full potential of the Elyos Outrealm Gate."

With a final nod, Fjorm made her way towards Commander Anna's quarters, her mind buzzing with possibilities. She knew that this newfound information would change the course of their mission and bring them closer to rescuing Kiran.

As she walked through the halls of the Order of Heroes' headquarters, Fjorm couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of purpose. The fate of Kiran, and the future of the realm, rested on their shoulders. With the combined efforts of the mage Heroes and the strategic brilliance of Commander Anna, they would overcome any obstacle and bring their Summoner home.

A Fire Emblem Heroes x Fire Emblem Engage Crossover

Chapter 5: A Dragon Monarch's Grand Hero Battle

It was a sad day in the Land of Lythos as many common people from various nations of Elyos, mostly from the Kingdom of Firene, visited Lumera's wake and funeral.

Kiran sat alone in the courtyard of Castle Lythos, the weight of the day's events pressing heavily on his shoulders. The somber atmosphere of Lumera's wake and funeral still hung in the air, mingling with Kiran's thoughts.

As the crowd dispersed and the last rites were performed, Lumera's body had been laid to rest deep within the castle walls. It was a final goodbye to a fallen comrade, a monarch who lost her life defending the Ring Vault from Fell Dragon Sombron's forces. Kiran himself had witnessed the event, when he saw Queen Lumera's body lying motionless on the castle floor, replaying like a haunting melody.

The image of Lumera's life slipping away, replaced by her dying request to be summoned as a Hero, lingered vividly in Kiran's thoughts. The weight of that responsibility weighed heavily on him. He had the power to fulfill her last wish, to bring her back as a Hero, but the decision carried immense consequences.

Sighing, Kiran gazed at the courtyard, his eyes tracing the path where Lumera had fought so valiantly. The clash between their two Sigurds had been fierce, leaving scars both physical and emotional. Lumera had fought with unwavering determination, powered by the Emblem Sigurd. And now, she was gone.

Lost in his thoughts, Kiran wondered if he should fulfill Lumera's final request. Summoning her as a Hero would bring her back to life in a way, but it would only be a temporary measure because, for all intents and purposes, Lumera died as a mortal. The weight of that decision pressed upon Kiran's soul.

"Kiran," a deep, masculine voice called out, breaking through the heaviness in the air. Kiran turned around to see Alfred, the Crown Prince of Firene, walking towards him. Alfred's presence brought a glimmer of familiarity amidst the sorrow that enveloped the castle.

"Alfred," Kiran greeted, his voice laced with exhaustion. "How is Alear holding up?"

Alfred's eyes softened, mirroring the sorrow etched on Kiran's face. "I saw Alear heading to her bedroom earlier. She's taking it hard, understandably so. Losing Lumera, her mother, so suddenly... it's a heavy blow."

Kiran nodded solemnly, his gaze drifting towards the castle walls. Lumera's absence was felt by all, but it was Alear who bore the weight of the loss most deeply. The bond between mother and daughter was unbreakable, and now Alear had to navigate a world without Lumera's guidance.

"And what about the other royals and nobles from the nations of Elyos?" Kiran asked, seeking a momentary respite from his own thoughts. "Did they attend Lumera's funeral?"

Alfred's expression grew somber as he replied, "Unfortunately, the other royals and nobles were unable to attend. They are preoccupied with preparing their forces to face the Fell Dragon Sombron. The threat he poses is growing, and they must focus their efforts on protecting their own lands."

Kiran's shoulders slumped slightly, the weight of Lumera's absence compounded by the absence of support from the other nations of Elyos.

And then, Alfred's hand landed gently on Kiran's back, offering a comforting pat. "Cheer up, my friend," he said with a warm smile. "We cannot allow ourselves to dwell in sadness for too long. Lumera would want us to find strength in her memory."

Kiran's lips curled into a grateful smile, gratitude mingling with the sorrow in his eyes. "You're right, Alfred," he replied, his voice tinged with determination. "We must honor her by carrying on with hope and resilience."

Sensing the need for a change in conversation, Alfred's expression grew mischievous. "Speaking of strength, Kiran, can you summon Heroes with... impressive muscles?"

Kiran's eyebrows shot up in surprise, momentarily taken aback by the unexpected turn in topic. "Well," he began, collecting his thoughts, "Yes, I have indeed summoned Heroes with such muscles. After all, strength comes in many forms, and some Heroes possess extraordinary power and physical prowess."

Alfred's eyes lit up with curiosity, a playful glint dancing within them. "Do tell, Kiran," he urged, a hint of excitement in his voice. "Who are these mighty Heroes? I must meet them!"

Kiran chuckled, appreciating Alfred's enthusiasm. "There is Hector, a warrior from Ostia, whose towering stature and bulging muscles strike fear into the hearts of his enemies. Then there's Effie, a knight hailing from Nohr, whose strength is matched only by her unwavering loyalty. And let us not forget Barst, a warrior from Altea, whose bulging biceps are as impressive as his unwavering resolve."

Alfred's eyes widened with each name, his imagination conjuring images of these formidable Heroes. "They sound remarkable," he exclaimed, his voice filled with awe. "I would love to witness their might firsthand. Perhaps we can arrange a sparring session, or even learn from their training methods."

Kiran nodded, a spark of excitement igniting within him. "That can be arranged, Alfred. The Order of Heroes is a diverse group, each member bringing their unique strengths and skills to the battlefield. It would be a sight to behold, witnessing the clash of these mighty warriors."

Alfred's smile widened, his eyes shimmering with curiosity. "Kiran, what you said to Lumera that night... about Heroes being summoned whether they're alive, dying, or outright dead. Is it true?" His voice held a mix of wonder and excitement.

Kiran nodded, a knowing look in his eyes. "Yes, Alfred, it is true. The Breidablik has the power to bring forth Heroes from different realms and from different points in their lives, transcending the boundaries of life and death."

Alfred's eyes gleamed with newfound determination. "I want to be summoned as a Hero someday. I want to join the Order of Heroes," he declared, his voice filled with a mixture of awe and ambition.

Kiran's surprise was evident, his eyebrows arching upward. "Alfred, that's... quite a revelation. May I ask why you desire to be summoned as a Hero?"

Alfred's gaze turned introspective, his voice tinged with longing. "I have always been fascinated by tales of Heroes and their incredible strength. I want to witness firsthand the power they possess and learn from their training methods. To stand alongside them, to fight for a cause greater than myself... it would be an honor."

Kiran couldn't help but chuckle at Alfred's earnestness. "Well, Alfred, when the time comes for you to be summoned as a Hero, I promise I will do my best to grant that request. You shall have the opportunity to meet and train with Heroes who possess the muscles and strength you admire."

A mixture of excitement and gratitude washed over Alfred's face, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Thank you, Kiran. I can hardly wait for that day to come. Together, we shall embark on incredible adventures and face unimaginable challenges."

"I'd count on you for that, Prince Alfred," Kiran chuckled.

"Just calling me 'Alfred' is fine," Alfred spoke. "Kiran, you also need to check Alear later tonight while I return to the Kingdom of Firene to inform my mother and my sister, Celine."

"Yes, I will," Kiran replied. "Take care of yourself."

As both men parted ways as the sun set over the Lythos Castle courtyard, Kiran stared at the setting sun, knowing that despite witnessing the tragic death of Queen Lumera, he knew that both he, Alear, and their allies must press on to save Elyos from Fell Dragon Sombron.

A few hours later, after eating dinner, Kiran lay on his bed, his fingers gently tracing the intricate design of the Breidablik. The events of the day replayed in his mind, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he needed guidance. With a sigh, he muttered to himself, "I should probably visit Alfheimr... maybe talk to Peony for advice."

As he closed his eyes, Kiran's thoughts drifted to the mysterious realm he had visited the previous night. He longed to return, hoping to find solace and answers amidst the ethereal beauty of Alfheimr. However, as he slipped into the realm of dreams, he was met with an unexpected surprise.

Instead of the familiar embrace of Alfheimr, Kiran found himself floating in the vast expanse of space-time itself. The swirling colors and shifting cosmic energies surrounded him, leaving him in awe and confusion.

A voice, deep and resonant, reverberated through the space-time rift. "Kiran," it called, its familiarity sending a shiver down his spine.

Startled, Kiran looked around, searching for the source of the voice. "Who's there?" he asked, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

From the depths of the rift, a figure emerged, radiating an aura of power and mystery. It was the same enigmatic man who had sent Kiran to Elyos, his presence both captivating and unnerving.

"It's you," Kiran said, his voice laced with a mixture of surprise and recognition. "The one who brought me to Elyos."

Kiran stood in the midst of the space-time rift, his eyes fixed on the mysterious man who had called out to him. The air crackled with anticipation as the man's voice echoed through the cosmic expanse.

"Kiran," the man began, his tone carrying a hint of familiarity. "I remember my promise to you. The time has come for me to reveal my name."

A mixture of curiosity and excitement surged within Kiran. Finally, he would learn the true identity of the enigmatic figure who had guided him through realms unknown. "I'm ready," Kiran replied, his voice filled with anticipation.

The man's eyes sparkled with an otherworldly glow as he spoke. "Throughout the ages, I have been known by many names. But for you, Kiran, there are two that hold significance. You may refer to me as Balðraz, or, in your modern language, Baldraz."

Kiran repeated the name in his mind, savoring the weight and power it held. "Baldraz," he said aloud, testing the pronunciation on his lips. It felt right as if the name resonated with a deep connection he couldn't quite explain.

"Baldraz it is," Kiran declared, a sense of reverence coloring his voice. "I choose to call you Baldraz."

A warm smile tugged at the corners of Baldraz's lips, his eyes sparkling with approval. "Your choice is wise, Kiran. Baldraz I shall be."

Baldraz's voice resonated with a mixture of sorrow and admiration as he turned his gaze towards Kiran.

"Tell me, Kiran," Baldraz began, his eyes searching for understanding. "Do you recall the Queen of Lythos who met her untimely demise?"

Kiran's brows furrowed as he pieced together the puzzle. "You mean Queen Lumera?" he replied, realization dawning upon him. The memory of her tragic passing still held a place in his heart.

Baldraz nodded solemnly. "Indeed, Queen Lumera. Her soul, Kiran, still lingers within the realm of Elyos."

Kiran's eyes widened in surprise, his mind racing to comprehend the implications. "But... how is that possible? I thought once a soul departs, it journeys to the afterlife."

A ghost of a smile played upon Baldraz's lips, a glimmer of ancient wisdom in his eyes. "Not all souls follow the same path, Kiran. Queen Lumera's soul, it seems, is rapidly growing into something extraordinary. She is becoming a Grand Hero."

Kiran's heart skipped a beat, his breath catching in his throat. The notion of Lumera, his beloved queen, transcending mortality to become a figure of legendary status was both awe-inspiring and perplexing.

"How?" Kiran managed to utter, his voice laced with curiosity and wonder. "How did Queen Lumera become a Grand Hero?"

Baldraz's gaze softened, a hint of melancholy shading his features. "In her mortal life, Queen Lumera carried a heavy burden of regret. She lamented the choices she made and the consequences they bore upon her people."

A sense of empathy washed over Kiran, his heart aching for the weight Lumera had carried in her lifetime. "What was she regretful about?" Kiran asked, his voice filled with genuine concern.

Baldraz's voice carried a hint of sadness as he continued. "One of her deepest regrets was how she held Alear, her daughter, near and dear to her heart. She believed she could have done more, protected her child better."

Kiran's eyes glistened with unshed tears, his voice barely above a whisper. "Lumera loved her child, her kingdom, her people, with all her being. How could she blame herself?"

Baldraz's gaze bore into Kiran's, a well of ancient knowledge reflected in his eyes. "Sometimes, Kiran, love can be a double-edged sword. It can fuel our greatest triumphs and our deepest regrets. Queen Lumera learned this lesson all too well."

Silence enveloped them for a moment, the weight of Lumera's regret hanging in the air. Kiran's mind swirled with a mixture of emotions – admiration for Lumera's love, sadness for her regrets, and a burning desire to honor her legacy.

Kiran's voice trembled with determination as he gazed into Baldraz's eyes. "Baldraz, my friend, is there anything I can do to help Lumera find her peace?"

Baldraz's gaze softened, a glimmer of hope shining through his aged eyes. "Since Lumera is rapidly becoming a Grand Hero, the logical step would be to challenge her in a Grand Hero Battle and defeat her."

Kiran's breath caught in his throat at Baldraz's suggestion. The magnitude of such a task weighed heavily on his mind. To face his beloved queen, now transformed into a formidable force, was a daunting prospect. Yet, the flicker of redemption in Lumera's soul beckoned him forward.

A realization dawned upon Kiran, his eyes widening with a newfound clarity. "If I challenge Lumera and emerge victorious in the Grand Hero Battle, she will be summoned as a Hero, fulfilling the promise I made to her."

Kiran then remembered the words Lumera spoke to her as she lay dying in front of him, with Alear herself cradling her dying body.

"Kiran, my dear Summoner... after my passing... I want you to try to summon me as a Hero. Please, honor this selfish request."

Baldraz nodded, a hint of pride in his voice. "Indeed, Kiran. By defeating Lumera, you will pave the way for her to ascend as a Hero, the embodiment of her undying spirit."

A surge of determination coursed through Kiran's veins. He knew what he had to do, even if it meant facing the woman he cherished with all his heart.

"I will do whatever it takes to help Lumera find her peace," Kiran declared resolutely.

Baldraz smiled warmly, his voice tinged with reassurance. "You are a brave soul, Kiran. But for this task, you will need the assistance of Alear herself."

Kiran's eyes widened in surprise. Alear, the land he called home, would play a crucial role in this journey. "How can Alear help me, Baldraz?" he inquired, his voice filled with anticipation.

"It's simple. Alear herself is the child of Lumera, after all," Baldraz leaned in closer, his voice barely above a whisper. "You will wake up shortly, Kiran. Alear will help you in the upcoming Grand Hero Battle, granting you the strength and wisdom needed for this daunting challenge."

Kiran's heart swelled with gratitude as he absorbed Baldraz's words. He clasped his hands together, bowing his head respectfully. "Thank you, Baldraz. I am forever indebted to you for your guidance."

Baldraz's eyes crinkled with a gentle smile. "You need not thank me, Kiran. The bond we share goes beyond gratitude. We will meet again, my friend, when the time is right."

As the words lingered in the air, Kiran felt a peculiar sensation wash over him. Reality blurred, and the next moment, he found himself back in his familiar bedroom within Lythos Castle.

Kiran's eyes fluttered open, the memories of his encounter with Baldraz etched into his mind. Determination coursed through his veins as he rose from his bed, ready to embrace the path laid before him.

Meanwhile, Alear sat on her bed, the weight of her sorrow pressing upon her like a heavy fog. The room was dim, matching her melancholic state. She had lost her mother, and the pain was still raw. It seemed as if the world had become a little less vibrant without Lumera's radiant presence.

Suddenly, in a shimmering burst of light, Emblem Marth appeared before Alear. His ethereal form emanated a calming warmth, and his voice resonated with a sense of wisdom. "Alear, my dear, you mustn't dwell in sadness over Queen Lumera's passing for too long."

Alear lifted her gaze, her eyes filled with unshed tears. "I know, Emblem Marth," she replied, her voice tinged with sorrow. "But it will take time for me to accept her absence, to heal from this loss."

Emblem Marth nodded understandingly, his translucent figure radiating empathy. "Grief is a journey, my dear. Allow yourself the space to mourn, but remember that Lumera would want you to find solace and strength in her memory."

As Alear pondered Emblem Marth's words, a soft knock interrupted their conversation. She turned her head towards the door, her heart fluttering with anticipation. "Who could that be?" she wondered aloud.

Emblem Marth's eyes sparkled with a knowing light. "It might be Kiran himself," he suggested, his voice brimming with hope.

As Emblem Marth faded back into his Emblem Ring, Alear's breath caught in her throat. Kiran, her trusted companion, had been a pillar of support during these trying times. She longed to see his face, to draw strength from his unwavering determination. With newfound resolve, she rose from her bed and strode towards the bedroom door.

As she swung it open, her gaze met Kiran's, and a surge of warmth spread through her being. His smile, filled with determination and unwavering faith, melted away the shadows that had plagued her heart.

As Kiran stood just outside of Alear's bedroom, his gaze was fixed upon her with a mix of determination and trepidation. He took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts before speaking. "Alear," he began, his voice steady yet tinged with urgency. "I need to come in. There's something important that we must discuss."

Alear looked at Kiran, her eyes searching his face for a hint of what lay behind his request. After a moment's hesitation, she nodded, silently granting him permission to enter her sanctuary.

They settled into plush chairs in Alear's bedroom, the air heavy with anticipation. Kiran's eyes were filled with a mixture of sorrow and resolve as he leaned forward, his voice low yet filled with purpose. "Do you remember what Lumera said to me?" he asked, his words hanging in the air.

Alear furrowed her brow, trying to recall the memories of their last conversation with Lumera. After a moment, realization flickered across her face. "Yes," she replied, her voice filled with a mix of sadness and reverence. "She said that she wanted to be summoned as a Hero, even after her passing."

Kiran nodded, his expression solemn. "That's right," he confirmed, his gaze never leaving Alear's. "And now, I must reveal something to you that might seem unbelievable."

Alear's heart skipped a beat, her curiosity piqued. She leaned forward, her eyes locked with Kiran's. "What is it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kiran took a deep breath, his voice steady as he revealed the extraordinary truth. "Lumera's soul still lingers in Elyos," he confessed, his words carrying a weight of both wonder and disbelief. "She is transforming into a Grand Hero."

Alear looked at Kiran, her curiosity piqued. "Kiran, what exactly is a Grand Hero?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine interest.

Kiran paused for a moment, contemplating how best to explain the concept. With a flick of his wrist, he revealed his Breidablik, a mystical artifact that held the power to summon Heroes. "What is a Grand Hero?" Kiran began, his voice steady, "A Grand Hero a special type of Hero that can only be summoned through a Grand Hero Battle."

Alear's eyes widened, her intrigue growing. "A Grand Hero Battle?" she repeated, hoping for further clarification.

Kiran nodded, his expression serious. "Yes," he affirmed. "It is a formidable challenge, where Heroes face off against incredibly powerful foes. If a Hero is defeated in a Grand Hero Battle, they can be summoned by someone with the power of Breidablik, like myself."

Alear's mind raced, trying to process the weight of Kiran's words. The idea of summoning powerful Heroes to aid them in their fight against darkness was exhilarating. She realized that Kiran needed her help, and a sense of purpose surged within her.

"I want to help," Alear declared, her voice filled with determination. "I want to be by your side in Lumera's Grand Hero Battle."

Kiran looked at Alear, his eyes filled with gratitude and determination. "Are you sure?" he asked, his voice laced with both caution and hope.

Alear nodded, her resolve unwavering. "Yes," she replied firmly. "Lumera was my... mother, and I want to honor her memory by assisting you in this battle."

Kiran's face softened, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Thank you, Alear," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. "Your support means a lot to me."

Alear reached out, placing her hand on Kiran's, a gesture of solidarity and commitment. "We will face this Grand Hero Battle together," she pledged, her eyes shining with determination. "For Lumera, for Elyos, and for Zenith, and for all those who believe in the power of Emblems and Heroes."

"Then, we must make haste to the Ring Vault," Kiran said to Alear. "To the very place where Queen Lumera breathed her last."

As they both nodded their heads in understanding, Alear and Kiran knew that their journey ahead would be filled with challenges and uncertainty. But with their combined strength and unwavering resolve, they would face whatever awaited them in Lumera's Grand Hero Battle, confident that they could make a difference in the world and bring honor to their fallen queen.

As Alear and Kiran made their way through the Ring Vault, their footsteps echoing through the dimly lit corridors, Kiran couldn't help but notice the remnants of destruction left by the recent enemy attack. His gaze swept over the cracked walls and fallen debris, a solemn reminder of the battles fought within these sacred halls.

"The Ring Vault still bears the scars of the attack," Kiran murmured, his voice tinged with a mix of sadness and determination.

Alear nodded in agreement, her eyes scanning the surroundings. "It's a testament to Lumera's strength that she fought until the very end," she said, her voice filled with admiration.

Suddenly, Alear's eyes widened as she caught sight of something extraordinary. "Kiran," she whispered urgently, her voice barely audible. "We need to go to the specific area where Lumera breathed her last."

Understanding the gravity of the situation, Kiran nodded in agreement. "You're right," he replied, his voice filled with a mix of sorrow and resolve. "We must pay our respects and see if there's anything left behind that can aid us in our fight."

As they followed Alear's lead, their pace quickened, fueled by a mix of anticipation and trepidation. The air grew heavy, laden with a sense of foreboding, as they approached the designated area.

And then, they saw it.

A swirling vortex of ethereal light enveloped the space where Lumera had met her untimely end. The radiant glow danced and flickered, casting an otherworldly aura upon the surroundings. Alear and Kiran exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with a mixture of awe and curiosity.

"What is this?" Kiran wondered aloud, his voice filled with a sense of wonder.

Alear stepped closer, her hand reaching out instinctively towards the mesmerizing display. "It's as if Lumera's essence still lingers here," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.

The vortex pulsed with energy, beckoning them closer as if inviting them to uncover its secrets. Alear and Kiran exchanged a determined look, their shared purpose urging them forward.

And then, Kiran unholstered his Breidablik, the weight of the weapon familiar in his hand. He turned to Alear, his eyes filled with determination.

"I believe I can open the vortex using my Breidablik," Kiran suggested, his voice carrying a hint of excitement. "Are you willing to trust me on this?"

Alear met his gaze, her own eyes reflecting a mix of uncertainty and trust. After a moment's hesitation, she nodded. "Yes, Kiran," she replied, her voice filled with conviction. "I trust your judgment. Let's give it a try."

Positioning himself in front of the glowing vortex, Kiran aimed his Breidablik directly at the center. He took a deep breath, steadying his trembling hands, and pulled the trigger.

A brilliant stream of light burst forth from the Breidablik, surging towards the swirling vortex. The air crackled with energy as the two forces collided, and the vortex responded, glowing even more brightly than before.

Alear shielded her eyes with her arms, her face illuminated by the searing white light. Kiran quickly followed suit, his left arm covering his eyes, hoping that this would be their ticket to enter Lumera's Grand Hero Battle.

As the light engulfed them, Kiran could feel a surge of power coursing through his veins. It was as if the vortex had recognized his intentions, granting them passage to a realm beyond their wildest dreams.

As the brilliance faded, Alear and Kiran found themselves standing in a near-perfect replica of the Lythos Castle courtyard. Alear's eyes widened as she took in the familiar surroundings, a sense of nostalgia washing over her.

"Why does this place resemble Lythos Castle courtyard?" Alear wondered aloud, her voice tinged with curiosity and confusion.

Kiran, his eyes scanning the area, caught sight of a figure standing in front of them. He turned to Alear, a knowing look in his eyes. "I think I may know why," he said, his voice filled with a mix of anticipation and disbelief, "Just look over there."

Alear followed Kiran's gaze, her heart pounding in her chest. And there, standing before them, was a sight she never thought she would see again. It was her mother, Lumera, wearing a gentle smile.

Alear's breath caught in her throat as she struggled to comprehend what she was seeing. "Mother?" she whispered, her voice filled with a mix of awe and disbelief.

Lumera's smile grew wider as she stepped closer to them. "Alear and Kiran," she said, her voice radiating warmth, "I've been waiting for the two of you."

"It is good to see you again, Lumera," Kiran said. "Alear herself has missed you so much."

Lumera's voice cut through the air, carrying a hint of mystery and intrigue. "If someone asked you the color of fire, what would you say? Red is the most obvious answer, but fire can be blue as well..."

Alear furrowed her brows, contemplating Lumera's words. "You're right, Mother," she replied, her voice filled with curiosity. "Fire can take on different hues depending on the temperature and the fuel it consumes."

Before they could delve further into the conversation, a sudden shift in the atmosphere caught their attention. Alear's grip tightened on her Libération, a weapon passed down through generations, as she surveyed the entities that began to materialize at the perimeter of the Lythos Castle courtyard.

"Kiran," Alear's voice was tense, her eyes scanning the figures, "Are these enemies Fabrications or Corrupted?"

Kiran squinted, his gaze focused on the mysterious entities before them. He analyzed their attire and movements, his voice steady as he replied, "I think they're Fabrications although their attire closely resembles that of Embla soldiers. I believe this is indeed Lumera's Grand Hero Battle."

Alear's heart raced with a mix of excitement and apprehension. Lumera's Grand Hero Battle was a legendary event, spoken of in hushed whispers by the people of Lythos. It was said to test the bravery and skill of those chosen by destiny.

"We must be prepared, Alear," Kiran cautioned, his tone filled with determination. "These battles are not to be taken lightly. Our lives and the fate of Lythos depend on our success."

Alear nodded, her grip on her weapon tightening. She could feel the weight of responsibility settle upon her shoulders. "I understand, Kiran," she replied, her voice resolute. "We will face this challenge head-on, just like we did last time."

The entities drew closer, their intent clear in their focused gazes and poised stances. Alear took a deep breath, channeling the power within her Libération, ready to unleash it against their foes.

Kiran's eyes widened as he heard the voice of Baldraz resonating in his mind. The words echoed with urgency and a sense of secrecy.

"Kiran," Baldraz spoke, his voice clear in Kiran's head, "You must tell Alear that her Emblem Rings cannot be used in Lumera's Grand Hero Battle."

Kiran's heart sank at the news. The Emblem Rings had been a symbol of Alear's strength and connection to her heritage. How would she react to this revelation? He hesitated for a moment, contemplating the best way to approach the situation.

"And Kiran," Baldraz continued, his tone firm, "In this Grand Hero Battle, Alear herself will be treated as a Hero temporarily."

Kiran's eyes widened further, his mind racing with the implications of Baldraz's words. Alear, a Hero? It was both an honor and a burden. He wondered how she would handle the weight of such a responsibility.

"But remember, Kiran," Baldraz's voice turned softer, almost conspiratorial, "Keep this part a secret from Alear herself, for the time being. It is crucial for Alear to focus on this Grand Hero Battle."

Kiran's brow furrowed in concern. Keeping such a significant revelation from Alear would not be easy. But he trusted Baldraz's judgment and knew that there must be a reason for the secrecy. Taking a deep breath, he steeled himself and muttered to Baldraz, "I understand, and I will keep it a secret, as you have asked."

As Kiran mulled over the weight of the secret he now carried, he couldn't help but worry about Alear's reaction. He knew she held the Emblem Rings dear and saw them as a source of strength and connection to her duty as the Divine Dragon of Elyos. How would she feel knowing they were rendered useless in this pivotal battle?

He looked at Alear, who was engrossed in her preparations, her face a mixture of determination and anticipation. Kiran couldn't bear to see her spirit dampened, not when their world relied on her unwavering resolve.

For now, he decided to focus on supporting Alear, ensuring that she was ready to face the challenges that awaited her. The time for revealing the truth would come, but until then, he would stand by her side as her trusted ally.

As Kiran approached Alear, he masked his concern, his voice steady as he spoke, "Alear, I have something to tell you. It seems that our Emblem Rings won't be of use in this Grand Hero Battle. We will have to rely on our own strength and skills."

Alear's eyes widened in surprise, a flicker of disappointment crossing her features. But she quickly regained her composure, her determination shining through. "I understand, Kiran," she replied, her voice resolute. "We have faced challenges before without relying on external artifacts. We can do this."

Kiran watched as Alear turned around to face her mother, Lumera. He knew the weight of the upcoming battle rested on Alear's shoulders, and he needed to ensure she was fully prepared. With a swift motion, Kiran reached for his Breidablik, activating its power to check Alear's stats as she temporarily assumed the role of a Hero.

His eyes widened in awe as he observed the powerful skills Alear possessed. "Atk/Spd Ideal 4, Close Call 4, and Spd Smoke 4," Kiran murmured to himself, impressed by the strength and versatility of her arsenal. He knew that with these skills, Alear would be a formidable force on the battlefield.

However, Kiran's concern for Alear's well-being lingered, prompting him to take further precautions. With a silent determination, he accessed Alear's Sacred Seal slot and added the Mystic Boost Sacred Seal. This would provide her with an additional layer of protection, ensuring her safety amidst the chaos of battle.

Just as Kiran finished his preparations, Lumera's voice broke the silence. She spoke to Kiran, her tone filled with wisdom and guidance. "Summon your Heroes, Kiran," Lumera advised, her eyes filled with unwavering confidence. "Alear will need all the support she can get, just as you summoned your Sigurd back in the mock battle."

Suddenly, Kiran's eyes sparkled with determination as he agreed to Lumera's advice. He raised his Breidablik high into the air, its power pulsating with energy. With a resolute voice, he chanted as he pulled the Breidablik's trigger, "Hero Summon! I call forth Marth, Sigurd, and Peony to join us on the battlefield!"

In a dazzling display of light, Alear turned around and was met with the sight of the very three Heroes that Kiran had summoned before. Marth, with his noble presence, stepped forward and spoke with a warm smile gracing his face.

"Alear, it's good to see you again," Marth greeted, his voice filled with familiarity and affection. "Even if I'm not Emblem Marth, I still stand ready to fight alongside you."

Sigurd, the valiant knight, nodded in agreement. He approached Alear with a respectful bow and spoke with a tone of unwavering loyalty. "The honor is mine to fight alongside you and Kiran once more," Sigurd expressed, his voice carrying a sense of determination. "Together, we shall overcome any obstacle that comes our way."

Peony, the ethereal and enchanting Alfr of Sweet Dream, floated gracefully towards Alear. Her ethereal voice echoed with a gentle melody as she greeted Alear with a kind smile.

"Alear, I hope you're having good dreams in your sleep," Peony said, her words carrying a hint of whimsy and magic. "But now, it's time to awaken and face the challenges that lie ahead. We're here to support you every step of the way."

Alear felt a surge of warmth and gratitude wash over her as she stood amidst these renowned Heroes. Their presence filled her with confidence, reminding her that she was not alone in this battle. Together, they formed a formidable team, united by a shared purpose.

Kiran looked upon the group assembled before him, a sense of pride swelling in his chest. "Thank you all for answering my call," He addressed the Heroes, admiration evident in his voice. "We stand as a united front, ready to face Lumera's Grand Hero Battle. Let us fight with valor and determination, for the fate of Elyos and Zenith rests in our hands."

The Heroes nodded in agreement, their eyes shining with resolve. They knew the weight of the task before them, but they were prepared to face it head-on. With their combined strength and unwavering bond, there was no challenge they couldn't overcome.

As Alear glanced at her companions, a newfound sense of purpose ignited within her. She drew strength from their presence, ready to face whatever trials awaited them. With Marth, Sigurd, Peony, and Kiran by her side, she was more than ready to take on Lumera's Grand Hero Battle, knowing that victory was within their grasp.

As the Embla-themed fabrications lunged at Alear, Kiran, Marth, Sigurd, and Peony, Lumera's smile only widened. She had anticipated this battle, and now the Grand Hero Battle was underway.

The Lance Cavalier, fueled by a merciless determination, charged towards Sigurd, their Firesweep Lance gleaming with a deadly intent. Sigurd, aware of the weapon's ability to prevent him from counterattacking, swiftly assessed the situation. With a calm and focused gaze, he braced himself for the imminent assault.

The Lance Cavalier's strikes rained down upon Sigurd, each one aimed with precision. But Sigurd's skill with his blade was unmatched. He expertly parried and dodged the attacks, displaying a mastery of the sword. With each deflection, he grew more confident.

As the Lance Cavalier momentarily retreated, Sigurd seized the opportunity. His grip tightened around his Divine Tyrfing, a legendary weapon that had been passed down through generations. The blade shimmered with an otherworldly glow, and Glimmer, a special of immense power, crackled at the ready.

With a swift and fluid motion, Sigurd lunged forward, his Divine Tyrfing cleaving through the air.

"Here I come!" Sigurd proclaimed, his voice filled with determination and triumph.

The Lance Cavalier barely had time to react before Sigurd's strike connected with precision. The clash was brief but impactful, and the Lance Cavalier crumbled before Sigurd's might. He stood tall, the embodiment of a true hero.

Alear watched the exchange with a mixture of awe and determination. She knew that this battle was far from over, but seeing Sigurd's prowess in action fueled her resolve. She tightened her grip on her own weapon, ready to join the fray.

And then, the Green Fáfnir, now transformed into a fearsome dragon, soared through the air with a menacing presence. Its emerald scales glistened under the sunlight, and its claws were poised for an attack against Marth, the Hero-King.

Marth, wielding his legendary Falchion, prepared himself for the oncoming assault. He knew the power that lay within his blade, its unique ability to slay dragons. With a steady grip, he stood his ground, ready to face this formidable foe.

The Green Fáfnir lunged towards Marth, its massive form casting a shadow over him. Its claws extended, eager to rend flesh and bone, while its fiery breath billowed forth, threatening to consume everything in its path.

But Marth was far from defenseless. As the Green Fáfnir's claws came crashing down, he swiftly raised his Falchion to meet the attack. The blade, infused with dragon-slaying properties, effortlessly deflected the claws with a resounding clash.

With a nimble grace, Marth evaded the scorching flames that erupted from the Green Fáfnir's gaping maw. He danced around the searing inferno, his movements fluid and precise. The fire licked at his heels, but he remained unscathed.

Alear, who had been observing the battle with intense focus, approached Kiran, the ever-reliable summoner. "Kiran, are there any dragons native to Zenith?" she inquired, her voice filled with curiosity and a tinge of concern.

Kiran nodded, his gaze fixed on the ongoing clash. "Yes, Alear," he confirmed, his tone calm and composed. "Dragons do exist in Zenith, and the Green Fáfnir is one of them. They are formidable creatures, but Marth's Falchion holds the power to overcome them."

Suddenly, Marth, his eyes filled with determination, caught a glimpse of an opening amidst the chaos of battle. With his trusted Falchion firmly grasped in his hand, he seized the opportunity and lunged towards the Green Fáfnir. As he moved, a pulsating aura of draconic power engulfed him, his Draconic Aura special skill activated.

"I shall stop you!" Marth's voice rang out, resolute and unwavering. With a swift and fluid motion, he brought down his Falchion upon the Green Fáfnir, his strike guided by the immense strength of his Draconic Aura.

The clash of steel against scales echoed through the air as Marth's blade cut through the Green Fáfnir, ending its reign of terror with a single, decisive slash. The dragon let out a mighty roar before collapsing to the ground, defeated.

Alear, who had been observing the battle with awe-struck eyes, witnessed Marth's incredible feat. A spark of hope ignited within her, as she wondered if she could replicate a similar display of power with Emblem Marth, her own trusted ally.

Curiosity piqued, Alear turned to Kiran, the knowledgeable summoner who seemed to hold the answers she sought. "Kiran," she began, her voice filled with anticipation, "Do you think I can unleash a similar force with Emblem Marth?"

Kiran, ever calm and composed, considered Alear's question for a moment. "Yes, Alear," he responded, his voice steady and reassuring. "It is indeed possible for you to tap into the full potential of Emblem Marth's power."

Alear's eyes widened with excitement, and she smiled as a glimmer of newfound confidence shining in her gaze. She envisioned herself harnessing the strength and skill of Emblem Marth, fighting alongside Marth and Kiran with equal prowess.

Then, the Red Mage, their eyes burning with malice, locked onto Peony, the Alfr of Sweet Dream. With a swift incantation, they summoned a spectral fox from their Rauðrfox tome, sending it hurtling towards Peony, its jaws poised to tear into her.

Peony, ever quick-witted and agile, had anticipated this attack. With a graceful motion, she raised her Flower of Joy, a delicate shield of shimmering petals, in a desperate attempt to block the spectral fox's assault. The clash of magic and ethereal energy resonated in the air as Peony strained to hold her ground against the Red Mage's relentless onslaught.

Barely managing to deflect the attack, beads of sweat formed on Peony's brow as she realized the immense power her opponent possessed. Determined not to be defeated, she focused her energy and retaliated, firing an intense blast of magical energy from her Flower of Joy towards the Red Mage.

The blast struck true, slamming into the Red Mage with a force that sent them staggering backward. The Red Mage winced in pain, their confidence momentarily shaken as they felt the sting of Peony's counterattack.

Seizing the opportunity, Peony's eyes gleamed with determination as she channeled her Glimmer special. "Cut that out!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with both frustration and resolve. Her magic surged, infused with the power of her Glimmer-enhanced attack, as she unleashed another devastating blow towards the Red Mage.

The air crackled with energy as Peony's Glimmer-enhanced magic attack streaked through the battlefield, closing the distance between her and the Red Mage in an instant. The Red Mage, unable to react in time, was struck by the full force of Peony's relentless assault, their body wracked with pain.

A triumphant smile graced Peony's lips as she witnessed the Red Mage crumble under the weight of her powerful magic. The battle had turned in her favor, and she stood victorious, her Flower of Joy still radiating with the remnants of her victorious attack.

With the defeat of the Red Mage, Peony's confidence soared. She had proven herself capable of not only withstanding her opponent's relentless assault but also delivering a crushing blow in return. Her determination burned brightly, fueling her desire to protect her realm and those she held dear.

At the same time, Alear, her eyes sharp and focused, spotted an enemy Cleric closing in on their position. Gripping her Libération sword tightly in her hands, she wasted no time and lunged towards the approaching threat, her determination shining through every step she took. In a swift and fluid motion, Alear slashed her sword through the air, defeating the enemy Cleric with a single strike.

Kiran, ever the observant tactician, swiftly moved towards Alear, Breidablik in hand. As Alear was temporarily treated as a Hero, Kiran approached her, his eyes widening in astonishment. He carefully examined her Libération sword, marveling at its unique properties and abilities. The shock on his face was evident as he realized the true potential of Alear's weapon. Libération granted her the ability to dash swiftly in a single direction, and its durability allowed her to parry most attacks.

Lumera, a seasoned warrior, former Queen of Lythos, and Alear's mother, watched the scene unfold with a proud smile on her face. She unsheathed her Monarch Blade, anticipation gleaming in her eyes. Lumera knew that her daughter possessed great skill and potential, and now it was time for Alear to face her in combat, to prove her worth and further hone her abilities.

"Come, my child," Lumera called out, her voice strong and commanding. "Face me, and let us see how far your training has brought you."

Alear's heart swelled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. She had trained tirelessly under her mother's guidance, seeking to surpass her own limits and become a warrior worthy of her lineage. With a resolute nod, Alear stepped forward, her grip on Libération tightening.

The clash of steel echoed through the air as mother and daughter engaged in a fierce duel. Lumera's Monarch Blade, a legendary weapon passed down through generations, clashed against Alear's Libération, each strike resonating with power and determination.

As the battle raged on, Alear's skills were put to the test. She relied on the speed and agility granted by Libération to evade Lumera's strikes, parrying with precision and grace. Lumera, in turn, pushed her daughter to her limits, never holding back, knowing that only through adversity could Alear truly grow.

With every clash, Alear felt her confidence grow. The bond between mother and daughter fueled their determination, their swords dancing in a mesmerizing display of skill and strength. Alear's heart swelled with a mix of admiration and love for her mother, for it was Lumera who had instilled in her the passion for combat and the unwavering spirit to never back down.

As the battle reached its climax, Alear's movements became more fluid, more instinctual. She channeled her training, sorrow, joy, and her own unwavering resolve into each strike. Lumera, too, fought with all her might, her eyes filled with pride and a touch of bittersweetness as she witnessed her daughter's growth.

At that moment, as swords clashed and sparks flew, Alear knew that she had come a long way on her journey. But she also knew that this was just the beginning. There were still countless battles to be fought, and Alear was determined to face them head-on, with her family by her side, always pushing forward, always striving for greatness.

Alear's heart pounded with anticipation as she felt a surge of power coursing through her veins. The familiar sensation of her Luna special skill activating filled her with renewed vigor and determination. Kiran, ever the perceptive strategist, couldn't help but smile, knowing that Alear was about to unleash her true potential.

With a fierce battle cry, Alear lunged forward, her Libération sword held high. The blade gleamed with the Luna's radiant energy, infusing her strikes with an otherworldly strength. As she closed in on Lumera, Alear's voice rang out, echoing with unwavering conviction. "I am guided by the Emblems!"

The clash of their swords reverberated through the air, the Luna-empowered Libération meeting the might of Lumera's Monarch Blade. The force of their collision sent shockwaves rippling through the battlefield, and for a moment, time stood still.

Lumera's grip on her Monarch Blade faltered as the sheer power behind Alear's attack overwhelmed her. With a resounding impact, the Monarch Blade was sent flying from her grasp, twirling through the air before landing with a distant clatter. Lumera's eyes widened in both surprise and admiration as she watched her daughter's undeniable strength.

Realizing that she had been disarmed by her own flesh and blood, Lumera let out a breathless chuckle, a mix of pride and humility. "Once again, my dear Alear, you and your allies have bested me," she admitted, her voice tinged with a hint of surrender.

Alear's Luna-empowered Libération still held aloft, she approached Lumera with a mixture of respect and love in her eyes. She extended a hand to help her mother up, their bond stronger than ever. "It was an honor to face you in combat, Mother," Alear said, her voice filled with gratitude. "You have taught me so much."

Lumera accepted Alear's hand, her expression a mix of pride and tenderness. "And you, my daughter, have grown into a formidable warrior," she replied, her voice filled with a mother's love. "I am proud to call you my own child."

Kiran, standing nearby, observed the heartfelt exchange with a sense of satisfaction. He knew that this battle, though physically demanding, was also a testament to the unbreakable bonds of family and the power of determination. Alear's triumph was not just hers alone, but a victory forged by the unwavering support and camaraderie of her allies.

As the Grand Hero Battle drew to a close, Kiran walked towards Marth, Sigurd, and Peony with a smile on his face while Alear talked with Lumera.

"I thank the three of you for helping Alear and me on this Grand Hero Battle," Kiran spoke.

"You're welcome, Kiran," Marth replied as he started to vanish back into the Breidablik. "As Heroes, we'll answer your summons at any time of your choosing."

"Kiran, I swear that I will use every ounce of my strength to protect you," Sigurd replied as he too began to vanish into the Breidablik. "You need not worry."

"Don't worry about me, Kiran," Peony smiled at Kiran, as she also began to vanish into the Breidablik. "We can always see and talk to each other in Alfhemir!"

As she saw Marth, Sigurd, and Peony vanishing into Kiran's Breidablik, Lumera's voice carried a mix of admiration and respect as she addressed Kiran directly.

"Kiran," Lumera began, her tone filled with newfound humility, "Because Alear and your Heroes have bested me, you have every right to summon me. I will join your cause as a Hero."

Kiran's eyes widened in surprise at Lumera's unexpected proposition. He had never anticipated this outcome, but he understood the significance of her offer. With a nod of acceptance, he reached for his trusty Breidablik, a relic capable of summoning heroes from different worlds.

Drawing the Breidablik from its sheath, Kiran aimed it directly at Lumera. The air crackled with anticipation as he prepared to invoke the ancient incantation that would bring about Lumera's transformation. His voice resonated with power as he chanted the words, his conviction unwavering.

"Gathering stars call to the former queen whose sacrifice paved the way to the future!" Kiran's voice echoed through the battlefield, his words carrying a weight of history and sacrifice. "Become the path its light shines upon!"

As the final syllables left Kiran's lips, the Breidablik unleashed a brilliant beam of light, enveloping Lumera in its ethereal glow. Alear's eyes widened in awe as she watched her mother being engulfed in light before her very eyes. Lumera's figure shimmered and shifted, her features taking on a new radiance.

The air crackled with energy as Lumera stood at the center, her form engulfed in a soft, ethereal light. Kiran, his voice filled with unwavering conviction, raised his Breidablik high and declared, "Hero Summon! I induct you as a Hero, Lumera, the Dragon Monarch!"

As the light surrounding Lumera began to fade, revealing her new existence as the very first Hero from the World of Elyos. And then, Lumera spoke these words upon being reborn as a Hero.

"I am the Divine Dragon Lumera," Lumera declared. "I will fight for Kiran as a Hero to save both Elyos and Zenith, in the interest of peace."

And then, Alear's eyes widened with both awe and relief. She rushed forward, her arms outstretched, and embraced her mother tightly. Tears streamed down Alear's face as she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.

"It's true, Mother. Kiran's promise to you has been fulfilled," Alear spoke with her eyes stained with tears. "You've become a Hero."

Lumera returned the embrace, her voice filled with a mix of gratitude and determination.

"Even if I am no longer the Queen of Lythos," Lumera spoke softly, her words carrying the weight of sacrifice and newfound purpose. "As a Hero, I will still fight, not only for Elyos but also for Zenith."

"Mother..." Alear hugged Lumera once again. "We can now fight side by side once again."

"My child, I will always stand by your side," Lumera spoke to Alear, and then she turned her attention to Kiran and spoke. "And Kiran, I will also swear my utmost loyalty to you as a Hero."

Kiran, his gaze unwavering, nodded in agreement. "Lumera, your strength and wisdom have always been a beacon of hope, and now as a Hero, your power will be even greater. Together, we shall face the challenges that lie ahead."

A sense of unity and purpose settled over the trio as they stood there, the weight of their responsibilities mingling with the unbreakable bond they shared. With Lumera's rebirth as a Hero, a new chapter had begun in their journey to protect Lythos from the encroaching darkness.

Alear wiped away her tears, a newfound determination lighting up her eyes. "Mother, with you by our side, we are unstoppable," she declared, her voice filled with unwavering confidence. "Together, we will face any threat that dares to challenge us."

Then, the facsimile of the Lythos Castle courtyard began to dissolve in a soft, white light, but Alear, Lumera, and Kiran smiled, knowing that they emerged victorious in the first Grand Hero Battle from the World of Elyos.

And there you have it! This is the fifth chapter of Emblems and Heroes!

To all the people on this website, AO3, Spacebattles forums, and Discord channels who offered advice in brainstorming this story, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

And here's another Stinger!

Back in the World of Zenith, Alfonse, Sharena, Commander Anna, and Fjorm stood in a tight circle near the imposing Elyos Outrealm Gate. The air crackled with anticipation as Commander Anna took the lead, her voice carrying authority and curiosity.

"So, Princess Fjorm," Commander Anna began, her brows furrowed in concentration, "You're saying that every time Kiran summons a Hero and they return to Askr, the Elyos Outrealm Gate absorbs the excess magical energies?"

Fjorm nodded solemnly, her icy blue eyes filled with a mix of concern and certainty. "Yes, Commander Anna," she replied, her voice tinged with a hint of urgency. "According to what the mage Heroes from Elibe described, the energy fluctuations within the gate are unmistakable. It's as if the very essence of the Heroes is being drawn into it."

Before Commander Anna could reply to Fjorm, As the group stood near the Elyos Outrealm Gate, a sudden flurry of wings caught their attention. Alfonse, Sharena, Commander Anna, and Fjorm turned to see a white female owl gracefully swooping towards them, a letter clutched tightly in its beak. Sharena's eyes widened in recognition.

"Look, everyone! It's Feh, the Order of Heroes' messenger owl!" Sharena exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement. "I wonder what she's delivering this time."

The owl landed gracefully on Commander Anna's outstretched arm, hooting softly as it extended its beak toward her. Commander Anna gently took the letter, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Thank you, Feh," she murmured, her voice filled with gratitude.

Feh let out another hoot before taking flight once more, disappearing into the sky and heading back towards Askr Castle. Alfonse couldn't contain his curiosity any longer.

"What does the letter say, Commander Anna?" Alfonse asked, his voice tinged with anticipation. "Is it urgent?"

Commander Anna broke the seal and unfolded the letter, her expression shifting from excitement to a mix of surprise and concern. Her voice held a hint of urgency as she began to read aloud.

Commander Anna's voice echoed through the war room as she read the contents of the letter aloud. "Marth, Sigurd, and Peony disappeared from Askr for a brief period," she announced, her tone filled with concern. "But they have reappeared again, seemingly unharmed."

Alfonse's eyes widened in realization. "Wait, does that mean... Kiran summoned them to Elyos?" he asked, his voice tinged with a mix of surprise and curiosity.

Commander Anna nodded, her expression thoughtful. "That seems to be the case," she confirmed. "It appears that Kiran, our summoner, has called upon these heroes once more to Elyos."

Sharena's gaze shifted towards the Elyos Outrealm Gate, her voice filled with a sense of urgency. "Look!" she exclaimed, pointing towards the gate. "The Outrealm Gate is glowing in a bright light!"

The group turned their attention towards the gate, their eyes widening at the sight before them. The once dormant gate now radiated a brilliant, ethereal light, illuminating the war room with its otherworldly glow.

Fjorm, her voice filled with a mix of awe and concern, spoke up. "The gate... it seems to be reacting to the return of the heroes," she observed, her words laced with uncertainty. "But what does it mean?"

Alfonse's brows furrowed as he contemplated the implications. "Perhaps the heroes' reappearance has triggered something within the Outrealm Gate," he suggested, his voice filled with a sense of curiosity. "Maybe it holds the key to understanding their sudden disappearances and returns."

As the Elyos Outrealm Gate bathed the war room in a blinding, brilliant light, Alfonse, Sharena, Commander Anna, and Fjorm instinctively shielded their eyes with their arms. The intensity of the glow was overwhelming as if the very fabric of reality was being reshaped before them.

Slowly, the radiance waned, allowing the group to cautiously lower their arms and take in their surroundings. As their vision adjusted, they were greeted by a sight that left them speechless.

Standing within the magnificent Elyos Outrealm Gate was a figure that exuded an aura of nobility and power. The woman, with her lustrous blue hair cascading down her back, was adorned in a regal dress that shimmered with elegance. Her presence commanded attention, and her piercing gaze from her blue eyes seemed to penetrate the depths of their souls.

Sharena, her eyes widening with excitement and recognition, was the first to find her voice. "Wait! You... you're a new Hero!" she exclaimed, unable to contain her enthusiasm. "Who are you?"

The regal woman regarded them with a mix of curiosity and grace, her voice emanating with a sense of authority. "Greetings," she began, her voice resonating like a gentle melody. "Tell me, is this the World of Zenith?"

While Sharena, Commander Anna, and even Fjorm stood agape, Alfonse's curiosity got the better of him, and he couldn't resist breaking the silence. "Excuse me," he began, his voice cautious yet filled with intrigue. "May I ask who you are?"

The regal woman's smile widened, radiating warmth and grace. "Of course," She replied, her voice carrying a hint of nostalgia. "I am Lumera, a Divine Dragon and the former Queen of Lythos, and I am honored to stand before you as the very first Hero summoned by Kiran himself from the World of Elyos."
