"Um… hey, Tendou, can I use your first aid kit?" Semi said in the doorway to their shared dorm. He played with the sleeves of his MCR hoodie, making sure to keep the hem covering his palms.
Tendou sighed and stood up, noting the page of the manga he was reading. He grabbed the red box from the bathroom cabinet, Semi tried to grab it, but he held it tightly and shook his head. "I'll do it, hands." He made a grabby gesture and Semi reluctantly complied.
Silently he took the setter's hands in his own, palms facing up. He dabbed the blood away with a washcloth, then scraped the rest from under his nail beds with a qtip. "This will sting." He warned before spraying antiseptic onto the raw skin. Finally, he wrapped the injured hands in a layer of bandages.
"These are worse than last time, is it getting bad again?" the redhead asked, hoping his voice wouldn't waver. He didn't want Semi thinking he was a burden. He waited for the other to answer, but no response came. Tendou wasn't surprised, the ash blond never talked about his feelings. The setter retracted his hands and moved towards the door.
"Where are you going?" he asked with a hint of desperation in his voice.
"I'm practicing." But before he could take a step out the door, he felt a hand close around his wrist.
"No, you're not, you're injured, I'm telling coach you're not going tomorrow. Also, didn't we agree that you weren't going to practice this late anymore?" the taller bit his lip, he felt his eyes sting.
"Then I'll play guitar." He argued.
"What makes you think you can do that if you can't play volleyball? Why don't you just talk to me? Can we please not fight right now? Let's just pretend that everything's fine, just for a bit. We don't have to talk, let's just watch an emo anime that you like." He was practically pleading.
With a sigh, Semi conceded, he sat down on the bed with Tendou and watched as he opened his laptop, typing the website name in. He felt quite bad for how he treated his roommate, but they could work it out tomorrow.
The blocker was relieved that they could act normal for a bit. Things weren't better, but they were improving, and that's what matters the most, right?
