A short while later, Jack and the others were at the diner to get breakfast and to talk with Bardle and the others about his dream.
"This could be a sign that Rezzoch is up to something," said Bardle.
"And I'm his target," said Jack with a worried expression.
"We can't be too sure about that yet, he could just be playing you or this dream of yours may have just been your nerves making you think Rezzoch is back," said Bardle.
"I failed for his tricks once already," said Jack while standing from his chair.
"So if he is back then who's to say that I won't fall for it again?" he asked before walking out of the diner.
"That could have gone better," said Dirk.
"I'll go talk to him," said Quint as he went to stand. However, he was stopped by June holding out her hand before him.
"No, I'll do it," said June. Meanwhile, Jack was outside hitting a tree with his bat.
"You're going to hurt yourself," said June as she walked up behind him.
"Does anyone really care?" asked Jack without looking back to her or stopping his assault on the tree.
"The others and I do, and I'm sure there is a mission…," said June before being cut off.
"The missions don't mean anything!" said Jack while hitting the tree one last time.
"I only created them as a way to cope with everything, and look at all the mess they got us in," he said while sitting down.
"Hey, things aren't like this because of you," said June as she sat next to him.
"I'm the one who fell for Thrull's lies, I nearly helped free a demon into our world that would have destroyed everything if we had not stopped him," said Jack.
"And all because Thrull showed interest and was proud of me, it actually felt like I had a good parent for once!" he said while grabbing the sides of his head.
