Starting Hogwarts as a first-year, my siblings and I were horrible to everyone who wasn't a pure blood, we let our blood status and wealth go to our heads. We all three had our mother's dark brown hair and ice blue eyes, but that was as far as the similarities went other than our last names, I stopped talking to them halfway through my second-year.

The Belouise family dates back to the founding of Hogwarts, my parents aren't obsessed with blood status as they are in their work. They travel the world researching different magical plants and making experimental potions for the Ministry of Magic.

I walked into the Great Hall quietly taking a seat at my house table, I spotted my twin sister, Kalista, staring at me from down the table. I sat next to Imelda, who turned to me, "Katherine, where have you been?"

"I was out practicing on my broom and lost track of time." I whispered smiling at her nervously as she raised an eyebrow,

"For almost seven hours?" she asked unconvinced,

"I went to Hogsmeade to go buy a few last minute school supplies, flying back I decided to do some fast flying drills." I explained, turning back to the headmaster.

"Right, so didn't go and ogle at a particular someone in the Three Broomsticks?" I noticed Imelda's lips curved into a smirk when I turned to glare at her.

"I did not go to ogle him," I crossed my arms turning away from her to see Black walking back to the doors leading out of the Great Hall.

"Do you honestly expect me to believe you? You've had a crush on him since first-year." she laughed, I huffed knowing she was right, watching Black walk back to the front.

"Shush before we get yelled at." I whispered feeling my face getting warm, she laughed quietly turning back to the Headmaster.

Concluding the sorting ceremony, Black informed everyone that due to the injury last season he had decided there would be no quidditch this year. Imelda and I huffed, she turned to me looking like she could rip someone's head off.

Walking back to the Slytherin common room, "Katherine Belouise." I heard Professor Weasley call for me, turning to her as I stopped.

"Yes, Professor?" I asked nervously smiling at her,

"I noticed your late arrival, Professor Fig informed me you were the one who saved him from that dragon earlier." I nodded listening, hoping I wasn't going to get scolded.

"I was out practicing on my broom, wanted to do some drills before the school year started, but I see now there was no point since this year's season was cancelled." I frowned,

"Unfortunately," she nodded, "It was a good thing you were there, well, off to bed with you! You'll be needing to get a good night's rest for the first day of classes."

"Goodnight Professor." I smiled walking into my common room, feeling relieved I wasn't in trouble for missing almost the entire ceremony and that she didn't pry too much. I spotted Imelda talking with Anne and Nerida, I started to make my way over to them.

"Katherine!~" I took a deep breath before turning around to look at my sister, Kalista, sitting on a couch with a few others including our older brother, Nathaniel.

"What do you want?" I asked crossing my arms, she laughed turning to her left where Oliver sat, she leaned to him running her hand through his blonde hair and kissing his cheek.

"I don't have time for your childish antics, grow up Kalista." I said flipping her off before turning around walking away from her to where Imelda was as Nerida walked away.

I heard her screech in frustration, smiling at Imelda, "I see your getting better at dealing with your witch of a sister," she stated looking over my shoulder.

"As well as I can that is." I groaned,

"Would you want to race tomorrow?" Imelda asked as I froze in realization,

"Uh, yeah, if I had a broom.." I put my hand to my forehead brushing my hair out of my face,

"Where did your broom go?" Imelda said thinking about it, realization washing over her. "You were the one flying over the school that saved Professor Fig?"

I nodded sheepishly hoping everyone didn't hear her, "Shh, I don't want everyone knowing it was me."

"Everyone already knows about the dragon attack, but not even the Professors knew who was flying to save him." Imelda lowered her voice smiling at me.

"It's been a long day, we could talk more about it at breakfast." I said before yawning,

"You're right," she nodded as I started walking to our dorm, looking across the room to see Nerida and Anne fast asleep.

Changing into my night clothes before laying in my own bed, staring at the ceiling I found myself deep in thought about everything that happened today.

"Kat, you still awake?" I turned to where I heard Imelda's voice,

"Yeah, what's the matter?" I asked her,

"Are you still mad at me?" she asked as I smiled,

"Imelda Reyes. I am not mad at you." I said in a playfully stern tone, "We're best friends, are we not?"

"Of course we are!" she spoke assertively, "Well, good night Katherine."

"Good night, Imelda." I smiled closing my eyes and falling asleep.

Waking up the next morning I got up getting dressed, buttoning my light green plaid uniform jacket and matching slacks, black stockings and shoes. Tying my house tie before tucking it into my jacket, brushing through my hair and pulling the top half back.

Pulling on my robe, checking my pocket to make sure my wand hadn't fallen out before walking out into the common room to see Anne talking with Sebastian and Ominis. Heading towards the stairs to leave for breakfast I heard someone call my name.

Turning around I found Anne walking my direction, "Hey, did you call me?"

"Yes, I was wondering how your summer holiday went?" she smiled,

"The same as it's been for the last three years, avoid my demon siblings and only getting to see my parents two weeks out of the summer." I said rubbing the back of my neck.

"Sorry to hear that, you could've come to visit?" Anne frowned,

"Believe me I would have, but my parents wanted my siblings and I to spend that time together," I huffed, she nodded.

"Well, a bunch of us are going to Hogsmeade after classes for butterbeers, would you like to join us?" she asked as I thought about it,

"Who all would be going?"

"Ah, well I already invited Imelda, but I have to talk with Penelope, Poppy, Natty, Garreth, obviously Ominis and Sebastian will be there." she tapped her chin in thought.

"Alright, I head that way once classes are over." I smiled at her,

"I'll see you then," she smiled walking back to Ominis and Sebastian, I turned around heading to the Great Hall.

Sitting down with Imelda, who was sitting at Hufflepuff table with Penelope, Poppy, and Natty, they were talking as I came over, Imelda noticed me first, "What took you so long?"

"Anne was inviting me to Hogsmeade after classes, she said she already invited you, Imelda." I said looking to her.

"Yeah, she did. I told her I would talk to the others and let them know, Natty said she'd let Garreth know." she explained as I nodded.

"Do any of you think it was a bad idea to invite Garreth?" Penelope asked as I looked to her,

"Yeah, I thought Garreth and Sebastian despise one another?" Poppy chipped in,

"They do, I'm not sure why Anne thought that would be a good idea." I shrugged, the five of us continued to eat our breakfast before heading off to our first class of the day.

I followed Imelda into the classroom watching her walk towards the front to sit with Nerida, I sighed looking around to figure out where I was going to sit. "Katherine, over here." I heard Natty call out to me from the back.

"Anything interesting happen over your summer holiday?" Natty smiled at me as I sat down next to her,

"Not really, I actually got to see my parents for two whole weeks before they headed off on another trip for the Ministry." I sighed looking to her, "How was your holiday?"

"Nothing worth noting," she said as we heard Professor Ronan leaving his office at the top of the stairs.

Turning our attention to him as he began his welcoming speech, after everyone looked to him as if he had two heads when he asked about what we remembered, "By the looks of it, you all spent your holidays practicing Obliviate on one another." Ronen laughed quietly.

"Do you even remember how to preform a basic Summoning Charm? Hmm?" He looked around the room as no one was speaking up again, "Well, it seems we are in dire need of review."

"Everyone, get into pairs and take positions on opposite sides of the classroom." He instructed as we moved into positions. I looked to Natty as I casted Accio on the book with ease, she did the same, "Very good everyone, that's enough of that." Ronen called out.

He had everyone follow him outside, creating a Summoner's Court, "Ms. Belouise, why don't you and Ms. Onai be my first to compete?" he looked at me as I nodded before smiling at Natty.

We took our places on top the platform, "Ms. Belouise will be the blues and Ms. Onai the reds, clear?" he asked as we nodded to him.

Starting off Natty was doing well, but I knocked off two of her balls to put myself at a perfect score of 150 points. "Nicely done, points to Slytherin!" he announced as I smiled,

"A bit underhanded, but fair." Natty gave me a frown,

"Natty, you knew I wouldn't go easy on you." I smiled at her before laughing, we sat on the lawn watching the other pairs go up.

I watched Sebastian walk over when Professor Ronen called him over, I felt someone nudge me, "Ouch," I said rubbing my arm turning to Natty, "What was that for?"

"You were staring, I think I even saw some drool come out of your mouth." she smirked gesturing to her lip as I glared at her.

I watched the match trying not to stare at him, cheering for him when he won and I turned to him to find him looking at me smiling. I turned away from him feeling my face get warm, I avoided looking at him the whole way back to the classroom.

"Class is dismissed. Gather your things on the way out." Professor Ronen announced once everyone had returned, I turned from Natty as she grabbed her books to look for Imelda.

"Guess she already headed to Professor Hecat's class already," I shrugged looking back at Natty, "Let's meet up at the bell tower entrance later so we can all walk together to Hogmeade."

"Sounds like a plan, I will see you later." Natty smiled before leaving, I turned to head out as well until I heard Sebastian's voice.

"Of course you can use Accio on humans, if you're so inclined." He said as I raised an eyebrow, 'I wonder how they got on that topic, I'm pretty sure you'd just be pulling them by their clothing.'

"Well, you'd be using it on clothing to be precise, Sebastian." Ominis retorted, "You know it won't work on humans."

I turned to head towards the door noticing Sebastian looking at me as they left the room, following behind them and watching as he walked away.

Walking into the classroom I watched as Leander and Sebastian were dueling, they went back and forth for a moment until Sebastian knocked the skull off the ceiling almost crushing Leander. I restrained myself from laughing at Leander's face, looking like he was going to wet himself as it hovered above his head.

Professor Hecat placed it back on the ceiling, I turned to Imelda standing beside me smirking, "Nothing beats seeing Leander nearly wet himself." she whispered, I snickered.

"I'm sure everyone could agree to that." I whispered back keeping my eyes on Professor Hecat,

"Today we will review a spell that has saved me from death at the hands of Dark wizards more times than I care to remember: Levioso." she announced.

"Levioso? A levitation charm?" Leander asked looking to her annoyed, she turned around casting it on him with no warning,

"A surprised opponent is a weak opponent. Care to defend yourself, master Prewett? No?" Hecat gave a satisfied hum when he didn't answer before letting him down.

She had us practice on a feather, then pairing us up for duels, "We'll start with Ms. Belouise and Mr. Sallow, I want a fair and honest duel using only basic cast and Levioso."

We took our places across the room, turning around to face each other, "You may begin." I held my wand up concentrating on my opponents movements as I noticed his smug look.

"Don't expect me to go easy on you." He stated, I stifled a laugh,

"You forget who your talking to," I taunt him, casting Levioso and using basic cast knocking him back onto his butt.

"Is that all you've got? Levioso."

"Protego. Stupefy." I smirked using basic cast to knock him off the platform on his back, I walked down, standing next to him holding out a hand to help him up.

He took my hand, getting up and brushing himself off looking at me with smile, "I guess I shouldn't have underestimated you," he laughed as I felt my face flush as I nodded.

Hecat began another pair as I stood watching with a smile on my face, after class had ended Imelda latched her arm with mine dragging me off to lunch.

Sitting back at Hufflepuff table with the girls, I sat between Imelda and Natty across from Penelope and Poppy, I turned to see Imelda had been smirking at me. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Ah, no reason." her smirk widening as she took a bite of her roll, I watched her before continuing to eat my lunch.

Noticing the other girls lips curling up into smiles as I placed my utensils down and looked to them irritated, "There's obviously something you four aren't telling me, someone spit it out."

"You've been drooling over Sebastian all day," Natty grinned as I looked to her shocked, "It's painfully obvious you like him."

"I have not-" I gave them an offended glare,

"Kat, if you like him that much, why not just tell him how you feel?" Imelda suggested,

"So I can be rejected and humiliated all over again?" I glared down at the table.

"You never know if you don't at least try," Poppy encouraged me, I shook my head,

"I'll just end up getting hurt, besides I'm not really looking for a relationship." I sighed pushing my food around on my plate with my spoon.

"Promise you'll think about it?" Imelda sighed before continuing to eat,

"It's not your fault that Oliver rejected me, I lost that race," I turned to her, "I'm glad things worked out the way they did,"

"Kat-" Imelda looked to me surprised, "If I had never confessed, I would probably still be hanging out with my wretched siblings." I smiled, looking to the four of them.

"From what other students tried to tell me last year, it's a good thing you've changed." Natty smiled at me,

"I'm glad to have friends like you guys." I smiled at them,

"I still think you should confess to Sebastian," Penelope smirked, everyone turned to her annoyed,

"You really know how to ruin the moment, don't you!" Imelda glared at her,

"Kat, you're gorgeous and smart, Oliver was too shallow and full of himself to realize that." Penelope stated, I smiled at her.

"I appreciate the confidence boost, I'll think about it, but I'm not making any promises." I said as she smiled,

"We'll meet you at the bell tower entrance, we can all walk together." Natty smiled, I nodded as we finished eating before heading to our next class.
