Chapter 3 - Oppa!

According to the notice, the bus was to be surrounded with a barrier for an hour, so they would need to think up something to escape or else everyone would die.

As with many of the reactions of her fellow classmates, Ayaka similarly reacted:

"What?! Wait… dragons aren't real!"

"Everyone! Please listen!" a boy shouted. His name was Suguru Yazaki. He was a popular person in class. He was good at sports, he was good looking and had good grades. He had natural charisma and confidence, all combining to make him a good leader even before they were transported. He was nice to everyone so Jinah didn't feel much resistance towards him filling the leader role for the time being.

"I don't know the reason," Yazaki continued. "But we have no choice but to clear this mission. For that, we need everyone's cooperation! I would like to have a grasp on everyone's powers, so can everyone they're name and stats on a memo and bring it to me?"

After the whole ordeal, the powerless ones were driven to the back of the bus while Jinah and the others stayed in front. She had no idea why, but, for the time being, she went with it. With Yazaki being the leading figure, an escape plan was being developed. Everyone was whispering, all speaking in Japanese, so Jinah could barely make out some words.

"So, in conclusion," Yazaki summarized, loud enough for Jinah to hear. How considerate-

"Koriyama-san will cast a charm on the powerless ones so that the dragon will be attracted to the bus while we escape."

What?

Jinah's pupils dilated, her heart felt like it stopped for a second. Wait, they were going to leave behind three classmates to die? That can't be right…

"Let's go," said Yazaki.

As if under a spell, everyone started leaving the bus. Jinah stayed put, still in shock.

Tomochika, Ayaka, and Shinozaki started walking to the front to leave the bus. Jinah felt a pull on her shirt. Looking up, it was Yazaki.

"Jinah, I know this is hard, but we have to-"

"I.. Am not leaving them!" Jinah shouted.

The group with no powers stopped for a moment, everyone looking at Jinah, including Asuha Koriyama who also stayed behind. Yazaki's expression was of surprise and shock, but only momentarily.

"Hey, what the fuck do you mean by leaving us?!" Shinozaki, the class delinquent, shouted. "Do you seriously mean to leave us here as FUCKING BAIT?!"

"I don't want to die!" Ayaka cried.

Yazaki, recovering from his shock, walked over to the delinquent and, gripping the nearest bus seat tightly in one hand, easily ripped it from its bolts on the floor just by lifting it off the ground!

The jaws of everyone in the bus dropped to the floor, shocked by this show of superhuman strength.

"This is the power of the general," Yazaki explained. "Even at level one, I'm this strong. Taking along you guys would only drag us down, so please understand and stay."

"Wait," Shinozaki interjected. "If you're this powerful, you should be able to protect us!"

"Even if you don't protect us, can't we just tag along?" Tomochika added.

Jinah stood up, and looked Yazaki in the eye and sternly said, "I am not leaving. Better plans can be made!"

Yazaki looked at Jinah pitifully in the eye and sighed. "Fine. Then you stay here, too. Koriyama-san!"

Asuha came over next to Yazaki and answered, "Okay! Charm up!"

Jinah and everyone else except Asuha and Yazaki started glowing.

"What the-!" shouted Shinozaki

"Huh, what? Asu, what'd you do?"

Jinah instantly knew what was up. The light was going to attract the dragon, buying others time to escape in exchange for their deaths.

Her anger overshadowing the shock of her betrayal, she got up and grabbed Yazaki by the shoulders, yelling "You f#$ing crazy b!$# % ! How can you do this you r#$%$ed mother$! YOU PSYCHOPATH!" in her native tongue. The intensity of her yells threw Yazaki off a bit. Regaining his composure, he shoved her to the back of the bus with a bang! before talking to the rest.

"Beauty coordinator, it's Koriyama-san's class. She can buff others and should be able to control monster aggro to a degree, something we found out while going over everyone's abilities.

"Basically, you all will look like a type of monster to the dragon, which a student with a detection skill was able to confirm. I'm sorry everyone, you guys being bait was the only way. By the way, everyone agreed to this."

"No way," Tomochika yelled. "You mean Mikochi agreed too?! That doesn't make ANY sense!"

"Jougasaki-san? She was actually quite quick to agree."

Asuha was the first to get off the bus, saying "I'm sorry! Going out without abilities is more dangerous than just staying in the bus! We just need you to attract the dragon for long enough. If you survive, I promise we'll help you!" before leaving. The group being left behind instantly doubted her.

Turning away from the group, Yazaki walked over to Jinah, leaned in and quietly said in a regretful tone, "It's a shame that we won't have someone like you in our group," then walked off the bus before closing the door.

"Damn it! I'm not dying here!" Shinozaki screamed before rushing to the closed bus door. No matter how much he banged on it or how much he pulled on it, even trying to turn the lever on the driver's side, he couldn't get it to open. "Damn it! He crushed the door to the bus itself!"

"I'm getting out through the window!" said Ayaka.

Taking Ayaka's idea, everyone looked for the emergency hammer usually stuck to the bus. There was only a trace of it, meaning that the rest of the class ripped it out, blocking their only chance at escape. Weirdly, this bus's windows weren't the type to open. Jinah couldn't comprehend why.

Jinah, being empowered herself, ran and punched a window as hard as she could. A small crack appeared. Hope set in with the rest of the class.

"Way to go,exchange student! You can do it!"

"Jinah-chan, we're going to live!"

"VRAAAAAAAAAA!"

From above, the group heard a roar, the ground, the air around them, and the bus itself seemed to shake with it. A roar of absolute power.

Everyone stood still in terror, before Jinah snapped out of it and quickly punched a hole into the bus. Before she could announce her victory to the class, the bus shook so hard it almost tipped over. The class were sent up into the air before landing painfully on the floor or the seats.

Jinah, landing her back on a seat's backrest, started stretching her back out to nurse the pain. Tomochika quickly got up and loudly asked, "Is everyone alright?"

Suddenly, the bus shook again, this time accompanied with a crash! When Jinah got back on her feet, she saw Shinozaki, thrown to the front of the bus, make an expression of terror. In front of him, Ayaka, who had also been thrown to the front from the previous rumble, had her torso pierced by something white and sharp from the ceiling. It was like a thick spear, with thorns sprouting from it.

Blood pouring from her wound as well as some intestine hanging down, she collapsed onto the floor in a pool of blood when the white thing pulled out from the bus, leaving her gasping and croaking in pain.

"Ayaka-san!" Jinah yelled.

"Ah…Oh my god!" Tomochika gasped.

Shinozaki quickly got up and started running to the back of the bus.

"GYAAAAH!"

However, before he made it to the middle of the bus, he was pierced from the side as the white thing crashed through the wall. Shinozaki could only make faint gasps before falling unconscious.

Tomochika and Jinah looked outside. Outside their bus, their bus window was covered by a scaly something. The dragon's leg.

To make the dragon get away from the bus, Jinah grabbed the nearest object around her, a microphone, and threw it at the pointed thing.

"GIIIAAAAAAAAH!"

A terrible pained screech rang the bus and the spear pulled out of the bus.

"It came out!" Tomochika exclaimed.

The scales outside the window pulled back farther and farther until they saw what it looked like. The dragon was white, sharp spines sprouting from its head all the way to its tail. Its wings were larger than two long blackboards strung together side to side. Its big, yellow eyes foretold the doom that was waiting for the two girls for their offense of simply existing. They found the organ used to kill their classmates, but now was not the time to analyze it.

"VRAAAGH!" the dragon roared and started to rise into the sky.

Quickly making use of the situation, Jinah grabbed Tomochika and ran.

"Hurry! It's coming!

Right as they ran out of the bus through a hole made by the organ, the both of them managed to escape before the dragon crashed onto the side of the bus. Jinah and her classmate ran as fast as they could but it was no use as the dragon started crawling towards them with terrifying speed. Even though she was stronger and faster than the average person, she only level one, meaning she was only slightly faster.

Jinah tripped and tumbled into the tall grasses of the plain.

"Quick, get up!" Tomochika yelled before falling into the realization that a shadow was hovering over them. She looked up and there stood the giant and mighty dragon, terror freezing Jinah and Tomochika.

Jinah held Tomochika and closed her eyes, whimpering one last word as the dragon's maw rushed toward them: "Oppa."

The dragon screeched as its head drew nearer and nearer until suddenly, Jinah felt something grab the two of them, followed by intense wind hitting her face. Jinah opened her eyes. She was met with an ant head looking at her with glowing purple eyes. More precisely, its head was of an ant, and its body was that of a person, except for its visible purple wings, fingers that tapered into claws and insectoid feet, but still a lean and scaly humanoid. Its body was cold to the touch, black in color with glows of purple around its armor, an exoskeleton. It was… the blackest black Jinah had ever seen. The darkness radiated ever so slightly off the humanoid insect's outline like smoke.

"My Queen," it said, the insectoid jaws moving as it talked. It was talking in Korean! "It has been such a long time, I havemissed you so very much."

"The ant's talking! Jinah-chan, you know this thing!?"

"I don't know! I have never seen it before!"

"But it came out of you!"

It laid the two girls onto the ground and started towards the dragon before abruptly stopping. It started shaking a bit, claws jerking slightly.

"My liege is coming," announced the creature with a hint of pride in his voice. "He will protect you."

The ant's form swirled and then faded, revealing a tall man in a long black coat before them, his back facing them. Instantly, Jinah recognized his figure. Despite her confusion, the first thing she felt was relief and a gentle calm. Tears streamed from face as she smiled. However, as confusion started setting in, her eyes grew wider, her eyebrows rising and her jaws slightly dropping.

"What the-! The ant turned into a guy!" shouted Tomochika. "You know this guy!?"

"What is he doing here?!" yelled Jinah, her voice shaking, this time in utter bewilderment.

"Oppa!"

Hello, thank you for reading this maybe cringey fic (fitting for my username). Right when Solo Leveling finished and I started reading the light novels, I wondered what would happen if Jinwoo's sister was transported to another world. For readers of Solo Leveling, you know how angry Jinwoo got when the orcs attacked his sister. The Sion vs Shadow Monarch fight would happen, but I'm having a hard time visualizing it since Sion is super OP in her own right, also able to warp reality as a Sage. And since there are many characters superior to Jinwoo in the Instant Death-verse, I wouldn't be surprised if Jinwoo senses and starts trying to rush everyone back to their world. Honestly though, Jinwoo might as well leave Jinah's classmates there considering they betrayed her (also thinking about HIS own experiences with betrayal), but I feel like Jinah might want to give them a second change, I dunno. Anyways, thanks for reading, and I'm open to criticism!
