It's been a while since I've done the duel portion of Familiar of Zero. Although this time it's not Guiche but an original character. And with Vert having a new Dominion, she's now topped off on mana. Which shouldn't be hard to deal with a student. Vert is a Great Witch for a reason. Anyways this really does show just how foul mouthed Vert can be. But leave a comment, I love to read them. And if you want more info on what a Dominion is just ask in the thread and I'll supply the answer.

Line Break

Louise stirred from her slumber, greeted by the soft caress of morning sunlight filtering through her window. As she stretched and stifled a yawn, the room's gentle warmth embraced her. Something unusual had seized her attention – her desk, where her summoned familiar was engrossed in an unfamiliar task. But an even more perplexing revelation awaited her as her gaze shifted.

By her side lay one of the academy's maids, peacefully slumbering. Louise blinked repeatedly, her mind grappling with this unexpected sight. Before she could voice her astonishment, Vert acted swiftly, a graceful gesture silencing Louise's potential outbursts.

"Morning, master," Vert greeted her with an unsettlingly cheerful tone, sending an unexpected shiver down Louise's spine. "I've got some errands to run, but you can make use of this maid for your morning rituals and company, because nobles like to do that, right? And if you fancy my delightful presence, don't worry; I'm almost done creating something in this world."

Louise wondered what her familiar meant. Suddenly, a brilliant azure light flooded the room, shining even outside her window. It prompted Louise to shield her eyes. A few seconds later, the light dissipated, and Vert seemed pleased with herself. Standing beside her, dressed in the same revealing attire and with the distinctive witch's hat, was Vert. Louise took a closer look and realized it was a remarkably well-crafted and lifelike doll of Vert. "What is that?" Louise questioned, her confusion evident.

Vert turned to give Louise a disdainful look. "Are you that much of a dumb-ass, Louise? Don't bother answering that. This here is a doll," she replied, her language as rough as ever.

"Obviously, I can see that. But why is it here, and what do you need it for?" Louise inquired, her patience waning.

"Just shut up and watch my idiotic younger self," Vert retorted. With a hand on the doll's chest, she channeled a small amount of mana, causing a mark of a withered rosebush to appear where her hand touched. "There we go. Now, doll me, say something." She ordered. The doll blinked and then...

"You really want me to watch this stupid brat?" Vert's smile resembled that of a shark. She had created her first doll in this new world. While it didn't resolve her underlying issue of needing to anchor herself to her previous dominion for mana regeneration, it marked a step toward expansion, free from concerns about Witch Hunters.

"Yeah, she can be kind of annoying, I know. Problem with dealing with your younger self. Just make sure to keep watch over her. I'll be back by tonight," Vert explained. Just as she was about to head out, the door to Louise's room opened. Standing there was Kirche, her eyes taking in the room. They landed on Louise, the maid, Vert, and the doll Vert.

"Oh my Zero, I didn't know you could be so passionate. Taking a maid to your bedroom, having you and that delightfully dressed familiar of yours working together. I thought you Vallière were prudish beyond belief, but it seems I was mistaken," Kirche said. Louise's face blushed red, about to shout something at Kirche, but was stopped by Vert.

"Really, Kirche, don't you have some boy to—" Louise covered her mouth before she could say something beyond obscene. Vert narrowed her eyes. Her tongue darted out, licking her younger self's palm. Louise screamed, pulling her hand back and glaring at the older version of her.

"That is so damn disgusting!" She yelled. Both Kirche and Tabitha raised their eyebrows at Louise's swear.

"I think she might be a bad influence on you, Louise. And to answer your question, I've already done that last night. But you talk like I'm the one wanting to lure boys. Have you seen the outfit you're wearing? The boys might just drool over you," Kirche commented, eyeing the navel of Vert. The look on Vert's face was one of great disgust.

"Please, this is fashion, not like how you show off those breasts all the time," Vert responded to Kirche. Kirche laughed, finding this talk funny. This familiar was amusing.

"Oh my, but men love women with big chests. Though you wouldn't know anything about that, I guess. You're only slightly bigger than Louise's petite chest," Kirche taunted.

"Hey, you Germanian cow!" Louise shouted. Vert smiled, it wasn't a nice smile. It was a vicious, mean-spirited one.

"Breasts are not the be-all, end-all. Besides, compared to me, your ass is flat. What happened? Did your breasts take all of your nutrients?" Vert taunted. This time, it was Kirche who looked taken aback. This triggered one of the raunchiest and dirtiest insult competitions that Louise had ever heard. Siesta had awakened sometime in the middle of it and, hearing what they were saying, she fainted. Even Tabitha's face was red.

Both Louise and Tabitha covered their respective filthy mouths. "Please, you scandalized my innocent ears already," Louise pleaded. This caused Vert to raise her eyebrow.

"Enough," Tabitha commanded, agreeing with Louise. While she might be used to how dirty Kirche could be, she had never heard such filth before. Kirche just looked innocently at Tabitha, and the two of them had a standoff. Then they heard a screech of pain and turned to the two across the room. Louise was rubbing her palm, and a bite mark could be clearly seen.

"One, Louise, I'm the older you, and I know exactly what kind of filth goes through your head. You make Siesta seem innocent, so don't give me that crap about innocent ears. Two, the next time you put your hands to my mouth, I hope you'll be ready to lose a few fingers," and then she turns to Kirche and Tabitha. "And three, Kirche, you can pick on Louise, but don't do it too much. Now, Tabitha," she addressed the blue-haired girl. "Your dragon can fly me anywhere, right?" She questioned. Tabitha swallowed, shaking, even while her face remained impassive. She debated if she should kick the woman in front of her and escape, but she had seen what spell she had cast, and without any magic, she knew she wouldn't get very far.

"Fine," she agreed. Kirche and Louise watched this with their eyes blinking in disbelief.

"Did she just intimidate Tabitha?" Louise asked her rival.

"I do believe she did. Louise, your familiar is the complete opposite of you. I have to know her name," Kirche said, her eyes alight with fascination.

"It's Vert, Kirche. And you better show respect to her. I did summon a familiar with magic," Louise proudly declared. Kirche laughed.

"You did, but I'll think of that as a fluke. Still, though, you did absolutely summon an interesting familiar," Kirche admitted somewhat grudgingly.

As the two rivals talked, Tabitha led Vert to her room.

"You know you suck at hiding the fact that Sylphid is a Rhyme Dragon, right?" Vert's question caused Tabitha to halt. She quickly turned around, ready to strike at the familiar. Vert smiled slyly.

"Just like I know who you are, Charlotte." That got Tabitha to turn pale, backing up.

"Now, now, don't try to run. No matter where you go, I'll find you. However, if you want my help against that uncle of yours, then you do what I say. You'll be my dog, and stay by my side. Sylphid as well. I won't say anything and help you with that uncle of yours. Not a bad deal to have somebody like me as a friend now, is it, dear Charlotte?"

Tabitha kept shaking, and Vert was sure that she was going to pass out. "W-why?" She questioned.

"Obviously because Louise, oh sorry, I'll let you know, my younger self is a dumb-ass that doesn't have any connections," Vert told Tabitha. "Now, let's go."

Back in Louise's room, Siesta had finally woken up, and she had already helped Louise get dressed. The doll Vert followed behind both of them as they went to eat in the dining hall. "Vert assigned you to me?" Louise questioned, and Siesta nodded.

"Yes, Miss Vert was particular about me keeping you company for as long as you're at the academy," Siesta confirmed.

"Right… Well, here, take this. If you're going to be around me, I want you at full strength," Louise told the maid, handing a bowl of rich soup with some soft bread.

"Miss Vallière, I can't possibly accept this," Siesta tried handing the bowl back to Louise.

"Shut the hell up and take it." Then Louise stopped, realizing what she had said. "I mean, just take it." Kirche was right; Vert was becoming a bad influence on her. Siesta gratefully took the bowl and began eating. In the dining hall, all the students stopped to whisper about the firebrand who caused explosions. Louise was going to ignore them until a group of three decided to step up to her.

"Hey, Zero, is it true that you hired some disgraced noble to be part of your cheating the ritual? There's no way somebody like you could succeed at summoning something, after all." The boy taunted. Louise gripped her bowl.

"Really, Étienne? Don't you have anything better to do than pick on Louise?" Kirche asked, coming up to the group. Étienne turned, glancing at the Germanian noblewoman.

"Why are you defending her, Kirche?" He questioned. Kirche just gave a laugh.

"Obviously because I met the familiar. She really is a familiar. Didn't you see the rune on her navel?" Kirche questioned. At the mention of the rune, Étienne's face went red.

"No! That would have been improper of me as a noble." He answered. Kirche clucked her tongue annoyed.

"Besides, I doubt that Louise really did summon her. How much is she paying you to support her?" He questioned. He was about to say something more, but an explosion knocked him off his feet.

"Shut the hell up, Étienne!" Louise shouted, her face red with anger. "You have

no right to talk to your betters. Or did you forget that your family is merely a disgraced barony!" Louise was beyond angry.. She was about to say more when suddenly the doll Vert stepped on Étienne, causing him to groan.

"Whoops, feels like I stepped on some filth," she said, ignoring the boy underneath her. He groaned, and when she stepped off him, it took him a few seconds to get up. When he did, he turned his face to stare at the doll Vert.

"You hussy!" He shouted for everyone eating to hear. This drew more of their attention. "You dare disgrace the heir of the Beaumont family!" Doll Vert just rolled her eyes.

"Look, you pompous asshole, I don't give a rat's ass what family you're from. Also, numb skull, if you're a barony, that means in the hierarchy I outrank you. Now shut your ass up if you're not going to back your family name up but instead flaunt it like some useless peacock." Vert's words were like barbs, stunning Étienne and all the nobles present except Siesta, Louise, and Kirche, who had gotten used to the vulgar mouth.

"Duel! I challenge you to a duel!" Étienne shouted. This made Vert turn around again. This time something in her eyes caused the surrounding students to shiver. But then they began whispering to themselves in excitement.

"Are you going to accept the duel, or do you have so little honor that you would shame your family?" That caused the doll Vert to react. Just like Louise, Vert was prideful of her family. To say that to her and not be Kirche was enough to get her to react.

"Fine, boy. If I win, you're going to be Louise's and my dog for the rest of the week," she hissed.

Étienne nodded. "And if I win, you'll bow down and admit that you're not really Louise's familiar and you're lower than the dirt under my feet." That got a gasp out of the students. Étienne smiled smugly, and Vert narrowed her eyes.

"Fine, tomorrow morning. Try not to run, you little shit. I want to kick your ass." She was beyond pissed. The two swore under Brimir's name, and Louise realized that her familiar was now in a duel.

"Are you stupid!" Louise shouted when they were going to class. Vert turned to look at her.

"Do you have so little faith in me that I can't handle this, Louise?" She questioned. Louise stopped walking.

"No, I do, but…" She stopped talking then sighed. "Just make sure not to kill him, even if he is just a child of a disgraced baron. It doesn't mean that you can kill him." She needed to emphasize that point to Vert. Otherwise, she feared Vert would kill him.

"Obviously, I'm not going to kill him. I'm going to make him realize just how much beneath me he is that he'll piss his pants in terror." Louise wasn't sure if that was any better, honestly. But she guessed Étienne did deserve it by insulting her family.

Meanwhile, while flying on the back of Sylphid, the real Vert let out a laugh. Tabitha looked behind her, confused. "I have a duel tomorrow, apparently," she simply said, leading to even more confusion. Soon they reached the location that she wanted to be at. It was a swamp. And Tabitha and Sylphid tried to cover their noses. Vert just grinned, taking in a deep breath.

'I can't believe Louise's familiar is crazy,' Tabitha thought. And as if hearing her thoughts, Vert turned to look at her.

"Now Tabitha, you can keep a secret, can't you?" She questioned the blue-haired mage. The girl quickly nodded. "Good, what I am about to do is absolutely a secret." With that, she went to the middle of the swamp. Closing her eyes, she could feel her connection to the swamp. Slowly, her eyes opened, and particles of mana, like will-o'-wisps, floated around. Her eyes glowed blue, and she gave a smile. This was it, the establishment of her Dominion again. When she brought her hand down, the particles of mana hit the ground hard, then raised up to the sky. The shockwave caused Sylphid and Tabitha to fall in the swamp mud. Sylphid climbed back to her feet and helped Tabitha up.

"I'm alright," she reassured her dragon. She looked ahead, as Vert laughed like a maniac.

"Just you wait, Étienne, you asshole. I'm going to make you eat your words, and you'll be treated lower than a dog!" She yelled to the sky in exhilaration. She turned to Tabitha, and it was then that Tabitha realized something was different. The energy crackling from her was stronger. It was as if she was standing in front of a fire. The smile on her face was especially vicious. Her mana supply was topped off, and she felt like a new her.

"Let's go, Tabitha. I have a duel tomorrow morning."
