What's up, party people? This is going to be a bit of an AU since I don't know anything about VK other than the anime. Hope you enjoy! I know I will!
…
This was a weird fucking dream. You know that feeling you get when you suddenly feel like you're falling and then wake up? This was like that, except there was no panic. No fear. No great emotion. I simply dreamed I was falling.
I could see stuff too! I was in some sort of void, flecks of light and bits of smoke whizing by me. This continued for what felt like an eternity. Eventually, a red speck appeared in the distance below me. I, somehow, instinctively knew that was where I was falling.
NO.
Suddenly, a sharp feeling of panic overtook me. I didn't know why, but I knew I didn't want to go near the red speck. In the end, my panic was useless. It's not like I could do anything about the red speck. It's not like I could fly away.
In the end, I could only watch as the red speck grew larger and larger. I could only watch as my terror grew. And as the red speck grew larger, I was able to make out what it was. It was an ocean. An ocean of blood. That realization only increased my terror.
Eventually, I was close enough that I could see the waves of this ocean. And before I knew it, I had hit the surface.
There was no pain, despite the speed with which I had been falling. I also couldn't move. Not my limbs anyway. My head was still free, but that did little to help me. If I couldn't find a way to swim then I would surely drown here.
And as I struggled futilely to move even a pinky, my lungs began to burn. The burning sensation grew and grew. Until I could bear it no more. I opened my mouth, and only then did I realize my mistake.
Blood flooded my mouth, my stomach, my lungs. I was unable to do anything to stop it, I couldn't even close my mouth anymore. And then things got worse.
My body began to change. I felt my skin buble and contract, I felt my muscles pull until they tore, I felt my bones snap and shift. It was the most agonizing experience of my life. The pain grew and grew.
Until I knew no more.
…
I awoke to the feeling of freezing wind. I was face down in the snow. I shifted myself trying to turn over, and instantly regretted it. My body was the sorest it had ever been, every little movement felt like knives raking through me.
Eventually I forced myself to get up and assess my surroundings. It looked like I was in a snow covered forest in the dead of night. Where the fuck was I? I looked down at myself and saw that I was in my usual getup, which I was grateful for. A heavy coat, jeans, and boots were at least somewhat useful in this weather.
One problem though, I was way shorter than when I had last fallen asleep. Like, half as tall. Nevermind, I had to get out of this situation first.
I then checked my pockets. Only to find nothing but the switchblade I had kept with me since that first boy scouts outing years ago. You know how little boys are with knives. Back on topic, I had nothing else of value on me. No phone, no wallet, no nothing.
"Are you lost little girl?"
I whipped around to see two other people, a man and a little girl, about twenty feet away, on the other side of some bushes. They were both asian, and at first I thought they might be related. But at closer examination of how they looked, and the way the man was talking, I tossed that thought aside.
The man took a step towards the little girl, and she took a step back in turn; obviously in fear. And then I realized that the man's eyes were glowing red.
'What the fuck?' I thought, as a paralyzing fear overtook me.
"Give me you BLOOD!" The man, no, that thing, yelled as he charged at the girl; taking hold of her.
Time seemed to slow down for me as I watched this happen, my fear growing even greater.
"Come on man, you have to do something!" I told myself. "You have a knife don't you? Move, move, MOVE!"
And suddenly time sped up again, and I snapped forward. I flicked out my switchblade, as I charged. The thing didn't even seem to notice I was there, not until my knife was in his side.
Only for him to not even flinch. He simply got up, maintaining his grasp on the girl, and gave me a backhand. It felt like I was being hit by a truck. I flew back, my jaw broken.
"Your blood, your blood is unworthy." The thing said. "I'll kill you later."
The thing then turned back towards the girl, only for a hand to suddenly pierce through his neck. I then saw the owner of that hand, a young boy in his early teens.
"A disgrace to all vampires." the boy said. He then looked at me, confusion in his red eyes.
"Hey." I said, before passing out.
