Tyrion Lannister was a lot of things with a drunk a whoremonger, a vivid reader, a mother killing monster an Imp but one thing he was not was stupid so when his uncle Ser Kevan summoned Tyrion at his father's request the strained look he gave Tyrion pause.

"About time, well I have finally found a use for you and a bride" Tywin threw a parchment across the table to Tyrion.

"Evenfall Hall, father I don't understand why you'd send me to Tarth there is little they have but marble at most a gateway to the Storm lands... Or the Free Cities father what is going on?" Tyrion demanded to know.

"Selwyn Tarth is dying his only heir a maid of over 6"3 who wields a sword and is as comely as the face of the Stranger. With her incredible height there is little chance any resulting children would be Dwarfs. A union of you and the Lady Brienne where you will rule with her and in time your children would be Lannister's of Casterly Rock I would give the youngest boy The Rock if I cannot get Jamie out of that blasted cloak" the last part was said as a growl.

"And the lady is happy to wed?" Tyrion was hesitant to believe that such a young maid would marry him let alone willingly he did not want a tall woman capable to crushing him nearly as easy as the Mountain would in his wedding bed.

"She will do as her father commands as will you. Get her with child the only condition of Lord Selwyn was the first child regardless of gender would inherit and become the Evanstar. Hopefully you won't prove be a further failure of my legacy and only get her with daughters''

"Brienne, I am sorry, but this is how it must be, I know that I have given you free reign but it is time to put you're youthful pursuit of the sword and armour away and so your duty as my heir. I have Lord Tywin's word that Tyrion will be a suitable husband to you and the alliance with the Lannister's and their fleet will do wonders for trade and defence our harbour will bloom. Evenfall Hall will gleam, and the marble will yield its toll. In the Darkness We Rise- we cannot ignore the fact that the Tarth is no longer yielding anything of true value, and we must rely on trade I have raised you as my heir and as such as the only child of Tarth you must do you duty. You will still keep your name and your first born no matter what gender it is will inherit, the second son will also be in line to inherit Castley Rock, they will be cousins of the future king this is the only option after the last of the betrothal disasters" Selwyn did not want to broach the subject this way but the Maester did not think he had more than 10 years left if he was being generous. Tywin had offered more than generous terms and offered Genna Lannister to escort her nephew to help Brienne learn what was needed of a bride of house Lannister even though both Tyrion and Brienne would keep their original house names to insure both name and house continuations.

"But father, they will sing the Maiden and the Bear, and I shall be both, or it shall be the imp and the maiden built like a bear" Brienne said with despair she thought after the 3rd failure of a betrothal her father had given up but apparently this was not the case.

"Enough, I have indulged you too long clearly. You will marry Tyrion and be a dutiful bride'' Selwyn finally put his foot down and he softened when he saw the tears pooling in his daughters' blue eyes.

'Brienne, I do not have much time left we are that is left of our house this is the best way I could secure our future. Tyrion will not rule through you he will be nothing more than a consort- Tywin has given him duties related to the Westerlands trade for the Sunset Sea-to strengthen their fleet he will abide his father's decision and the Lady Genna will ensure everything is set to Tywin's liking. I do not do this to be cruel daughter mine, I do this so you will be looked after, and our house will rule. Tyrion is not cruel, he is smart and capable, he is of a similar age there is only 7 moons between you both. You will be safe and provided for" Selwyn was not surprised as his daughter crossed the Solar to hug her father at 17 she was old enough to marry and have children, bare a sword and her families legacy and deal with the torment of her former suitors but she was still a young women eve she hated being a woman.

"I will do my duty father, I swear it to the gods both old and new" Brienne mumbled, Selwyn gently pated his daughter on the back and was pained by the thought of giving away his last child for the sake of Tarth.

Brienne had grown used to her husband he was not handsome and could not swing a sword, but he had a sharp mind and mostly allowed Brienne to do as she pleased, he imbued wine but not as much as he first had during the start of their marriage. Now they were companions as they would work alongside each other in their Solar usually in companionable silence. Tyrion did not hate his wife she was not beautiful, average would be kind, but she was loyal and as a dutiful wife as he could ask for. Brienne ruled Tarth in her father's stead as his condition worsened with the union of their house Tarth had bloomed once more as Tyrion had managed to increase trade from the Free Cities on trade missions, what he did there Brienne did not mention as she too had frequented the Stormlands to swear her oaths to Renly Baratheon when she had officially been declared Lady of Tarth, however while her heart belong with her sworn lord he had not and would return those feelings she knew, as for Tyrion he had never sired any bastards and kept his mistress' and whoring to across the Sea out of respect. It was a marriage as ordered by their parents as most were, but they respected each other and had come to an understanding and at least respecting and trusting one another. It was a strange union it even had its own song created by an amused Tyrion as a gift for his wife after she had told him of her reaction to the news of their wedding many years ago when they had been deep in their cups. The tale of the Imp and the Maiden Fair. A marriage of convenience that secured Tarth and the Sunset Sea, two daughters an heir and a spare, A son who would be raised to be the perfect heir to Casterly Rock.

Tywin Lannister had smiled in satisfaction that his legacy of the Lannister name of his line would not die with him or rest on Cersei's children as his old age and bitter thoughts consumed the Old Lion in his solar at night he thought of Joanna and sighed he would never see his lady love, but he had done as she had requested. Tywin wondered how long he had left he knew that Jaime would not shed the cloak he had plans for his grandchildren, he would rule the 7 Kingdoms through his children's children a final revenge against Aerys the Lannister Dynasty would outlive the Targaryen's he would make sure of it. Tytos Lannister's name would only ever be a footnote as the father of the great visionary Tywin Lannister the patriarch of the Lannister's who legacy would rule the seven kingdoms.

The Results of the union of Tyrion Lannister (Born 273 AC) and Brienne of Tarth (280 AC)

Galla of Tarth was blonde like both of her parents her eyes hazel she seemed to be mix of both Lannister and Tarth- her hair the straw colour of her mother but silky curls of her father thankfully she was slightly shorter than her mother at 5'10 still tall but not towering.

Heir to Evenfall first born child to Tyrion and Brienne, named after her maternal uncle Galladon.

Amalee of Tarth looked very similar except her eyes were purely Lannister green and very poisonous her resemblance to her aunt Cersei was uncanny, it didn't help she would be sent to Kings Landing at Tywin's behest to foster with her aunt Cersei serve as a companion to her cousin Myrcella and to curry favour with the courtiers she was a perfect piece for Tywin when she grew.

Second born daughter twin of Galla, named Amalee at Tyrion's choice.

Jaymes of house Lannister and Tarth was the only son and every inch as smart as his father as decent with a sword as his mother and he spent his time in Casterly Rock, occasionally spending time in Kings Landing as ordered, when necessary, he came to Tarth accompanied by his grandfather or Aunt Genna and her children. However, his eyes were none of the colours normally associated with either house they were an uncanny black the only obvious trait that denoted Tyrion as his father rather than any other Lannister. Jaymes was 6'2 and learnt everything he needed to rule he was even given something that none his aunt or uncles hadn't he made Tywin Lannister smile he had a usual talent that no one expected it seemed that finally the singing voice of Joanna Lannister was heard again in the Rock.

3rd and final child of Tyrion and Brienne named after his paternal uncle Jaime. Presumptive heir to Casterly Rock after Jaime. Usually known as Jaymes Lannister.
