Saphira somehow managed to get enough sleep, despite what had happened the previous night. Saphira was glad that she did not have any kind of nightmares that could have kept her awake, as that would have been a nuisance. Saphira was also glad that none of her parents have seen the scratch on her face yet as she has not thought of a good reason as to how she got the injury. She knew that she was going to need a good alibi for them to believe her. But she doubted they would care too much. Especially since they stopped caring when Roxy was born, maybe even since the accident. As she had woken up at seven at night, she got her usual food before staying in her room to get ready for work.
But it seemed she would not be so lucky tonight. Saphira jumped as she heard a knock on her bedroom door. "Saphira? It's just me." Saphira sighed as she heard her mother, Alana, speaking from the other side of the door. "I need to talk to you about something. It is important. Can I come in? Or do you need a moment to get yourself decent?"
Saphira really did not want to talk to her mother, but she knew she had no choice. "Come in, mom. I was just getting a few things ready, but I won't be going to work for another half hour."
The door opened and Saphira turned her head slightly to see Alana walking into the room. Alana had a thoughtful expression on her face, and she didn't look at Saphira straight away. Saphira had already guessed what her mother wanted to talk about, but she was not going to prompt her to say anything. Alana sighed and she turned to face Saphira. "Your father and I have been doing a lot of talking, and it has not been very easy discussions. We are happy you have a job, but since we almost never see you anymore, you are like stranger now."
"I know. I leave and come home at times that aren't necessarily convenient for everyone," Saphira said with a slightly shrug. "Unfortunately, there is no security guard on during the day, because it's not necessary for the pizzeria with all the other staff on during the day. So I am stuck with being a night guard."
"And I see you somehow managed to cut your face in the process." Alana gestured to Saphira's face, and Saphira was a little surprised as she thought her mother would be way more concerned by that. "I'm not going to ask how it happened. Anyway, I know you are not eighteen yet, but you will be getting your graduation certificate soon. So your father and I have been discussing about what to do next."
"Right…well, I don't plan on going to college or anything."
"I honestly do wish you would consider going to college. You need to have something in your life. I know not everyone who doesn't go to college has a bad life, but you should consider studying to fall back onto something at the very least, Saphira. But as you don't seem motivated, we are kind of at a crossroads right now." Saphira listened to Alana quietly, even though she didn't like what was being said. "I am not sure how much you are even being paid, but regardless, you keep going there to that dreaded pizzeria every, single, night. So you clearly enjoy it."
"I do. It is a very good job. The scratch on my face isn't due to being attacked or anything, so you can be relaxed about that, mom. I am still not sure where you are going with this though." Saphira was acting like she did not know what Alana was talking about, and her mother was buying it.
Alana took a deep breath and was silent for a moment before she spoke. "It is time for you to leave the house, Saphira. I know you are not turning eighteen for another few months, but your father and I have decided you need to go. We feel embarrassed that you are even working at that pizzeria. It feels like the same dark cloud from the past has moved over our heads again."
Saphira frowned as she listened to her mother. "What do you mean by dark cloud? I don't understand."
Alana sighed deeply and looked at Saphira with a slight frown. "You should know what I mean." Saphira shook her head as she really did not. "Oh, for crying out loud…I am talking about when you were insanely obsessed with that stupid pizzeria, Saphira! That's what I am talking about. You wanted to go there every single day!"
Saphira frowned deeply as she saw that her mother was very unhappy about it. "But…you brought me to the restaurant everyday, mom. You had every right to say no, and you could have brought me home. I almost think you loved the pizzeria like I did."
"You were honestly a bizarre child, so it was easier to take you there every afternoon and day so that you wouldn't bother us." Saphira stared at her mother in shock as this was the first she has heard of it. "And then Jeremy began to follow your interest. I had hoped he would have been different. But no, he had to love the pizzeria and now he is dead."
"Mom…you aren't saying what I think you're saying, are you?" Saphira asked in a soft, shaky tone. "Don't tell me you blame us for loving the pizzeria for losing my brother. Say it is not true."
"Of course it's true!" Alana snapped at Saphira. "You have always had a strange fascination with those animatronics, and no matter how hard I tried to get your interests to change, you loved them too much. I honestly thought about just leaving you there to have the animatronics raise you, if I am honest." Saphira felt tears in her eyes as she listened to her mother. "But if it was not for your stupid interest, your brother would still be here. We wouldn't have had to go to that pizzeria that day if it weren't for strange, stupid, love of that place!"
Saphira shook her head. "It…it was not my fault…you know that…"
"Whatever." The woman rubbed here forehead in frustration with a groan before she kept speaking. "The main reason I came to talk to you is to tell you to get out of this house. You have a whole week to get out, and you are not ever contact us again."
"Wait…you are disowning me?" Saphira was not expecting that. She expected to be made to leave, but she didn't expect to be disowned. "Are you serious?"
"I honestly haven't looked at you the same. We should have left you at school to get bullied more, maybe you would have gotten the motivation to do better with yourself. Nope. Taking you out for home schooling was a mistake." Alana turned and walked towards the door. "I honestly wanted you out at sixteen, but we pitied you. I stopped seeing you as my daughter since Roxy arrived. She is the only child we need."
Saphira clenched her jaws as she glared at the floor angrily as she pain she felt was hard to ignore. "I cannot believe that is what you really feel. Fine. You want an only daughter, that is what you will get. I expect that you will give me the same respect and not contact me anymore. I hope you understand, Alana."
Alana raised an eyebrow in surprise when Saphira called her by her name and not by mom, but she didn't question it. "I understand. And I don't care how your life will go. Just get out by the end of the week. Anything left behind will be thrown out. You're lucky we will let you keep the car to sleep in."
Saphira honestly could not believe her ears at all. She at least knew the reason for why her mother didn't seem concerned at all by the scratch on her face. Her mother stopped caring for her. "Fine. I'll be out sooner than the end of the week." Her mother said nothing and closed the door behind her. "Good for nothing bitch…"
Saphira let her tears fall as she was extremely angry and hurt right now. Her mother just blamed her for the accident. Alana blamed her and Jeremy for their interest and love of the pizzeria, which she blamed for the accident. Saphira had some idea that her mother blamed the pizzeria to a point, but she never knew that her mother actually blamed her and Jeremy for it. She could not believe her ears at all. And it hurt so much.
But that made Saphira realize she could not be around anyone who believed that. Saphira wiped her tears and she stood up before she grabbed her two, large suitcases and several bags, and she began to fill them with her clothes, toiletries and other items she owned. She was upset that she was being made to leave sooner than she thought, but she honestly did not want to stay in this house. Not anymore. It was clear to her of what her parents thought. She no longer considered Alana and James to be her mother and father. They were just strangers to her now.
Saphira managed to pack everything she needed, including her important documents, within the time before needing to go to work. She had to do so while trying to fight her tears. She wanted nothing to do with this house anymore, even if it meant she was forced to either sleep in the car, or find some hidden room in the pizzeria. It at least explained why the building to Fazbear Horror and Pizzeria Attraction looked bigger than it actually seemed to be on the inside. The way it has been designed and renovated was clearly some clever way to keep secrets hidden.
Saphira made sure her room was pretty much cleared before she took her bags and suitcases out to her car. She also had filled a bag with her journals, scrapbooks and any other art supplies she had. And she kept her laptop so she could see her results for graduation, and make use of it for other things. She did not want to bother leaving anything behind. Her parents could do what they want with her bed and dressers, as Saphira did not buy them anyway. So it was up to them to do what they want with the old furniture.
Saphira did not even bother saying goodbye to her parents as she sat in the corolla as she sobbed. She could not bring herself to speak with them. She eventually calmed down enough to reverse from the driveway one last time and drive down the street. She did not yet know what she was going to do, but she knew she had to think of something. One thing was for certain though, was Saphira wanted to seek out Springtrap. She knew it would be a busy night though, so she had to wait. But she was going to want to have his comfort tonight.
Saphira had a hard time concentrating on the road. She flinched as she became fearful of other cars as she became worried one of them was going to hit her car. It might be irrational, but she could not help it. She did manage to drive through the city without an accident occurring, and she drove into the parking lot of the pizzeria and parked her car. She took deep breaths as she knew she was early at the pizzeria, but she didn't care. She needed time to try and collect herself before she would go into the building. She fixed her hair a little bit though, even if she didn't particularly care.
She remained in her car for about fifteen minutes before she got out and made her way to the back door. She walked into the pizzeria and when she walked into the office, she walked over to the bathroom and locked the door behind her. She closed the lid of the toilet to sit on while she buried her face into her hands, and she began to cry. She needed to let it out as much as possible so that she could feel better during the night. And until it was midnight, she had several hours to kill.
And she did kill those hours. When she let out enough of her tears, she grabbed one of her small journals to write down her thoughts in. She needed to have a positive outlet at the moment, and putting her thoughts down on paper was helpful. That didn't stop the slow stream of tears falling from her eyes. She was feeling so much pain right now. It really felt like old wounds had been reopened, and she honestly did not know what to do.
When the last of the employees finally left at fifteen past eleven, Saphira was relieved. She waited a moment before she stood up from her chair and walked into the hallway. She glanced at the vents for a moment, fearful that they would try and do something to her, before she made her way towards the dining room. She sniffled and sobbed softly as she wanted to get to Springtrap. Sure, she was completely ignoring her duty of checking the doors, but they could wait. And the animatronics could take care of the trespassers anyway.
Just as she was about to open the door to the dining room, Saphira jumped back as it opened, and she saw Springtrap. He immediately saw the state she was in. Messy hair, red eyes, pale skin and tears staining her cheeks, that was what he saw. "Saphira, what…OH!" Springtrap was alarmed when Saphira literally threw her arms around him and she held him tightly as she began to sob. "Woah, Saphira, it's okay." He gently wrapped his arms around her, even though he had no clue as to why she was crying so heavily. "I'm right here, Saphira. Easy. Let it all out."
Saphira sniffled as she sobbed into his chest. She was not able to say anything right now, and she felt the warmth of his body around her right now. The warmth from his body was calming, and she could hear his heartbreak within his body. It still fascinated her about hearing it, but it was comforting sound. She desperately needed good company, and she knew they had no idea why she was crying like this.
Bonnie walked over as he was confused. He saw Springtrap rubbing Saphira's back as he held her again while she cried. "Hmm…something happened before midnight it would seem." Springtrap nodded in agreement and Bonnie placed his hand on her shoulder gently. "Saphira, can you tell us what happened? Something's clearly happened, and we want to know."
Saphira glanced up at Bonnie with teary eyes. "I…I need a moment…"
"Very well." Springtrap thought for a moment and looked at Bonnie. "See if Toy Chica can make up some hot chocolate for Saphira. I think she will need it."
"Good idea." Bonnie turned and walked away quickly so that he may tell Toy Chica what she should do.
Springtrap sighed before he picked Saphira up suddenly, making her jump and blush as he held her in his arms. "I figured you wouldn't want to be crying in the doorway, Saphira." He smiled at her and she smiled back before leaning her face into his chest again to cry softly.
Springtrap really did not know why Saphira was crying. And he could see she had been crying for a long time in order for her hair to be messy and eyes to be red and puffy. He had no idea if Afton had done something, but he could see pain written on her face, which meant something had happened to make her feel hurt. Springtrap was thinking of who could have hurt her if it was not Afton. He couldn't think of anyone else, but her parents and Hayley. He could only make a guess based on the people he was aware she knew about.
Springtrap brought Saphira back to the office and sat her down on the chair, though he realized quickly she did not want to let go as her arms remained locked around his shoulders. So Springtrap was forced to remain kneeling on the ground as she sobbed into his shoulder. He wished he knew what was making her so upset. He guessed who could have upset her, but he couldn't figure out why.
He glanced at the glass to see Bonnie, Freddy and Nightmare walking by the office window. "She still needs a moment," Springtrap said to them as they walk into the office. "I am not sure yet why she's so upset. But she looks like she has been crying for hours."
"I have," Saphira managed to say, though her voice was slightly muffled due to the fact she was crying into his shoulder. "I…I am hurt…" She pulled back a little and looked at Springtrap's eyes. "I was kicked out of home."
Springtrap blinked as he was surprised by that. "This soon? I thought it wouldn't happen for another couple weeks."
"So did I. But my mother came in and told me I had to leave. But that's not why I am hurt. I don't care that she kicked me out." Saphira sniffled as she wiped tears from her cheeks.
"You don't need to tell us if you still need to calm down, Saphira," Freddy said to her in a gentle tone with a slight smile. "Take a moment, and let yourself calm down."
"But…I might not the whole night." Saphira sniffled as Springtrap frowned, not knowing why she would be crying all night. "I learned that my mother blames me for what happened to Jeremy." The four animatronics widen their eyes as they had not expected that. "She blamed for fact that I love this place…and she also blamed Jeremy."
"She blamed your brother?" Bonnie frowned deeply as that disturbed him. "Why would she blame him? He didn't cause the accident, nor did you. It confuses me why she would blame you and your brother."
Saphira shrugged and sniffled a little. "I am not why, but she blames our interest in the pizzeria. Jeremy used to play in the Toy Plaza, and he was becoming close with the toy animatronics. But I guess….in general, she is blaming our interest because we wouldn't have been at the pizzeria on the day of the accident."
"I can't believe she blamed you…it's as bad as when I blamed you for when you never came back to the pizzeria. Actually…" Springtrap shook his head in disgust and anger. "It's worse, because I never blamed your brother for the accident." Springtrap placed his right hand on her cheek gently, rubbing her cheek with his thumb to wipe away a tear. "I am terribly sorry that she said that to you."
She sniffled and nodded. "Thanks…but you don't need to apologize for her. She made the decision to disown me because of the past. We are no longer mother and daughter…the only family I had died when I was child." Saphira let more tears fall from her eyes and looked at Springtrap's silver eyes. "I hope you won't blame me for what is happening now. I would rather know now than find out later…just as my mother left her feelings festering all these years."
Springtrap shook his head. "No, Saphira. None of this is your fault. From what I am understanding, this whole thing seems to have been planned out for a long time. Nothing that is happening now is your fault." Saphira was glad to hear that and she looked down. He leaned forward to hug her tighter. "It is such a shame this happened…and right after what happened last night." Saphira nodded as she agreed. "I guess that kind of means we need to go by the riddle and find a door or vent that leads to something else."
"I don't want to do that right now," Saphira said quickly with a shake of her head. She sniffled and looked at the ground. "I honestly just want to do nothing tonight. I…I am hurting so terribly, Springtrap. Losing my brother, the way I did hurt, and now…Alana reopened those wounds and made them worse." Saphira let out another sob and Springtrap softened his expression. "I know I need to check the doors, but I don't care about them."
"I think we are more than capable of taking care of that, Saphira," Freddy said in a confident tone. "Especially since you look like you could use the extra help tonight." Saphira smiled at him before burying her face into Springtrap's shoulder again. Freddy tapped his foot lightly and leaned to Bonnie to whisper to him. "Maybe we should try and uncover this secret door or vent cover for Saphira. She does not have to go looking for it herself."
"That was what I was thinking too. Especially since she might actually cry herself to sleep, given how much she had been crying today." Bonnie wished he could do something to make Saphira happier. He thought for a moment before smiling. "Hmm…I have another idea. I'll be back!"
Saphira glanced at Bonnie as the rabbit animatronic walked out of the office quickly before he ran down the hallway. Saphira had no idea where he was going, but it seemed like he had some idea, so she wasn't about to question him. She just wanted company from the animatronics tonight. It felt like they were the only ones who could be trusted in her mind. And she hoped that would never change, as she loved them too dearly to want them to just blindside her and hurt her like her mother did.
Nightmare rubbed his arm as he did not know what to think about this as learning what Saphira's mother had said to her was horrible. "Hmm…I wish I knew your brother." He glanced at Freddy with a curious expression. "What was he like?"
"Uh…you'd have to ask Toy Bonnie. I believe he and Jeremy became friends, so he knows more. I hardly saw him if I am honest." Freddy's ears droop slightly as he felt guilty. "But I knew that the lad was very happy to be here. He used to be scared, but I think he saw Saphira's excitement about it and it rubbed off on him. Poor kid." Freddy looked at Saphira with an apologetic expression. "I can't imagine the kind of pain you must be feeling. That kind of betrayal would be hard to heal from. And I bet your brother would be hurt too."
"He would," Saphira said quickly in agreement with a sniffle.
"It's truly disturbing. At least she has us. But…I am not sure how much of a comfort that is." Nightmare did not know how much Saphira trusted them, though he was worried because of the fact he had little control over his impulse of wanting to eat flesh. And he has almost killed Saphira because of it. "I guess the worst pain comes from the hurt that those closest to you. They cause the most pain."
Freddy nodded as he agreed. "Unfortunately, we learned that with Springtrap. Even if it was not Saphira's fault, the pain and dark path he went through was absolutely real. It was hard to watch, and it was even harder to try and help. Hopefully, we can help Saphira through this."
"And we can start with a cup of hot chocolate and cinnamon!" Toy Chica's voice spoke enthusiastically as she walked into the office. Freddy and Nightmare turn to see the toy animatronic, and she was also holding a tray. "And I could not forget chocolate cake!" She walked over to the desk and gently placed it down. She looked down at Saphira who looked up and sniffed the air as the aroma of the hot chocolate filled the room. "I made sure to add extra chocolate to it tonight, Saphira. I figured you could use it."
Saphira forced herself to smile and turn away from Springtrap to grab the much carefully. "Thank you, Toy Chica," She said in a shaky tone as she held the mug with both hands. She sniffed the aroma of the hot chocolate. "It smells very good." She took a small sip and licked her lips. "Mmm…definitely needed the extra chocolate."
Toy Chica was grinning as she was very happy that Saphira would feel better from it. "I knew I was smart to do that. You are most welcome, Saphira! I also brought something else…" Saphira looked at the animatronic and saw she was holding up multiple bottles of nail polish. "I can't use this on myself, as it would be a pain in the butt to remove. But I was thinking that I could paint your nails for you when you are ready."
Saphira's forced smile turned into a genuine smile as that sounded like a wonderful idea. "I think I would like that. I wouldn't mind having one-on-one time with another girl. So I will definitely take you up on that offer. But…" She looked at Springtrap for a moment. "I will want you to stay, Springtrap…so it might be kind of awkward."
"I can hide in the shadows," Springtrap said objectively with a teasing grin. "It won't matter to me. I won't intrude on you two talking to each other, but…" He glanced at Toy Chica who had her arms folded. "She does like to push us guys out when she decides to have some girl time."
"Normally…but this is not the same situation." Toy Chica shrugged as she did not mind. "Whatever makes Saphira feel better." She winked at Springtrap who rolled his eyes at her. "Don't worry, Saphira. In my opinion, you will be better off without your parents. Especially if they feel that way about you."
Saphira agreed. She was happy to get rid of the burden of her parents, but it still hurt knowing what they believed. "Yeah…I guess I just need time to forget about them. I don't ever plan on contacting them again." She sipped the hot chocolate some more and glanced at the window to see Bonnie running back. "I wonder where he went."
Bonnie huffed as he slowed down upon reaching the office door and walked inside while holding something behind his back. "Since you were wondering, I remembered something that we had that you loved. And I was able to stash it away before it was thrown out." Saphira was immediately curious as she had some idea of what he was talking about. "I am sure you remember that you were never able to get it, but…" Bonnie moved his hand and showed her what he had brought her. "It was a limited edition Springtrap plush."
Saphira widened her eyes in surprise as she saw a dusty, Springtrap plush that was a very large plush. Saphira had wanted to get this toy because it was a unique plush. Unlike the other plush versions of the other animatronics, this toy had an open mouth with fake teeth, arms with plastic joints to bend and move the limbs naturally and the face was also a weird shape, even if it was meant to be a Springtrap plush. Saphira wanted it because of how unique it was. And she was going to get it the week of the accident.
"I can't believe you saved one of those," Springtrap said in disbelief as Bonnie walked over with the toy. "They were thrown out because no one bought them. I never thought you saved one. Why?"
"Well…" Bonnie shrugged a little as he watched Saphira place the cup onto the desk to grab the toy from him. "I guess to me, it was a little piece of Saphira. I knew she had wanted that toy, and I wanted to keep it as a little reminder of our favorite child." He watched Saphira hug the toy with a smile, and it clearly made her feel better. "I honestly had forgotten about it since you came back. But I figured you would like it."
"Thank you!" Saphira stood up from the chair and hugged Bonnie, making the animatronic smile. "I still have all of the other plush toys with me. I made sure to bring them, so they won't get thrown out. Though I have kept other plush toys because I always need to hug something when I'm upset. And there's nothing wrong putting them on my bed." She felt Bonnie rubbing her back gently and she stepped back from him. "You really are so much better than my own parents. Especially since you're like a father to me."
Bonnie shrugged with a tilt of his head. "Yeah…I do what I can. I still can't work out while you consider my like a father, I always thought Freddy would be more like that…"
Freddy chuckled softly in amusement at Bonnie. "Ah, Bonnie. I think you should really take the compliment. If Saphira looks at you that way, just go with it. She needs us more than before to take care of her emotional needs." Bonnie knew that Freddy was right, though he still felt like Freddy was better at it than him. "And you proved it by thinking of her when you looked at that plush. So I think it is right for her to see you like that."
"I just…" Bonnie looked at Saphira with a slightly worried expression. "I hope you won't think that I will hurt you the same way. Because I don't want you to see my like a father if that will bring you pain."
Saphira chuckled a little at him. She could see he was worried for her well being, and she appreciated that thoroughly. "Thank you for thinking of that, Bonnie. But you are far from them. I only see them as donors for my existence. You have been here for me since I was a kid, Bonnie. Even Fredbear did not come close. And I see Toy Chica like a sister…" Toy Chica immediately gasped excitedly and tapped her feet happily, but she kept herself controlled for the moment. "So I think it will be fine. I trust you way more than I trust people at this time."
Bonnie was happy to hear that. Saphira sat back on the chair and she grabbed her cup to keep drinking the hot chocolate. "We will do our best to keep your trust."
Saphira believed them deeply. Now she had to worry about what she was going to do now she was kicked from her parents' home. She had no choice but to sleep in her car, or the pizzeria. And both of those could end up being bad decisions. But she would have company if she stayed here. Saphira was still upset, even if the hot chocolate and plush brought her some joy and comfort. She knew it might take a while to get back to her old self, as it felt like she was grieving all over again, while also needing to think on what she had to do now she had no home to go back to. Saphira at least had the animatronics to confide in, and having Springtrap by her side really helped. She just knew that now her life was never going to be normal again…even if her life before wasn't normal, it definitely won't be the same anymore.
