AN: I'm sorry, guys. I've been so burnt out with work and my new job and family. I also realized I made an error uploading something, which is why Chapter 21 wasn't posted on fanfiction dot net.

Summary: Lea struggles to fit into her old wardrobe. Set right before the events of "Hard Heart".

It was 2:00 in the morning and Lea had just finished peeing for the umpteenth time. She was standing by the mirror in her and Shaun's bedroom, surrendering to the fact that she was getting bigger.

She was going to be a mom. She and Shaun wanted a baby, but this was still a hard fact to grasp.

At 27 weeks, Lea had successfully entered her third trimester. However, she was starting to be unable to fit into her clothes anymore. Although she could stretch out some of her old clothes, it was starting to become impossible for her to adjust her regular wardrobe. She still fit (barely) into her pants, but she would have trouble with her shirts.

Instead of buying maternity clothes (not even the maternity jeans Shaun recently bought her), she often wore oversized skirts or dresses over her belly since she found them cheaper than the pricy maternity clothes she often stumbled across.

As Shaun was still fast asleep (actually, drifting in and out of sleep due to his pregnant wife's frequent middle-of-the-night bathroom trips), she looked in the mirror, studying her changing body. She was wearing one of her extra-large silk old-lady pajamas that could accommodate her expanding hips. For work, she would wear extra-large pencil skirts and oversized blouses. Now, some of her old shirts were starting to feel too tight over her belly...probably to the point they would unbutton all by themselves in public and couldn't blame dry-cleaning anymore like Gloria did on Modern Family.

Recently, she had been struggling and using force to fit into clothes, which were definitely feeling too tight.

Shaun was still fast asleep, so Lea was shocked that her muttering-under-her-breath frustrations weren't keeping him up.

As usual, Dr. Glassman was up early cooking them breakfast. He made French toast, bacon, potato, and cheddar hash this morning.

Lea was the first to emerge after him, coming out of the bedroom, yawning, and wearing a blue button-down that was slightly stretched out, displaying gaps in the buttoned areas.

"Isn't that Shaun's shirt?" Dr. Glassman chuckled, noticing that Lea was also wearing elastic waistpants. That girl just didn't want to give up her skinny jeans yet.

"Yes," groaned Lea, sighing, a little embarrassed and not surprised that he noticed.

"Do you have any maternity clothes?" Dr. Glassman asked, remembering Shaun telling him about Lea's complaints that her clothes were getting too tight and how she didn't like to buy maternity clothes, and instead used extra large clothes...which was how she accommodated her last pregnancy until it ended.

"No," Lea shook her head as she sat down at the table and started digging in. "Extra large and elastic is my thing now."

"That was Ilana's style, and my mother's, and my grandmother's," reminisced Aaron, aware that hiding and concealing a growing belly was common in the eras they were pregnant. Heck, pregnancy was seen as inappropriate for TV when he was a child.

However, no matter what they wore, they were still obviously in a family way.

"But I have started buying maternity shirts," added Lea. "Also, maternity clothes are expensive. How many times do they think I'm going to be pregnant? 10? I don't even know if Shaun and I will have a second child."

"Well, you might need to get more before you stretch out all of Shaun's clothes," chortled Aaron.

It wasn't long before Shaun emerged and noticed Lea wearing his favorite button-down.

"Sorry," sighed Lea.

"We need to go shopping for maternity clothes," Shaun pointed out as he sat down at the table.
