A few months later….

Ever since Randall had decided to remain with the Manhattan clan, he faced more adventures than he'd ever faced before, including one final fight with the Quarrymen.

The clan along with Randall had been lured into a trap that was a demolition building for a future Quarrymen headquarters, by using a fake child's voice as a trap. Randall narrowed his eyes when he climbed off of Brooklyn but that was when Goliath wound up accidentally stepping through a laser.

Everyone cried out in surprise when alarms went off, Randall flinching when harsh lights shone down upon them all, revealing themselves to be locked in a large inescapable cage.

"Brooklyn, what's happening?!" He yelled out. Before Brook could answer Lexington had spotted a speaker on the wall. "Someone sure went through a lot of trouble to reel us in!" Lex growled, pointing to it.

Goliath narrowed his eyes. "Let's see if they can hold us!" He jumped up to the cage ceiling, trying to rip the bars open but Randall suspected it was electrified. "Goliath, I wouldn't—!" Too late as Goliath was zapped, causing him to fall down to the floor in a heap.

Brooklyn helped his leader to his feet. "This is not a good place to turn to stone!" He tried pointing out. For Randall this was worse for him, especially when Broadway reveals a bomb that was encased in a glass container in the wall that was close to exploding.

Randall's eyes widened in fear, not wanting to die. Brooklyn put a hand on his shoulder. "Maybe… you might be able to find yourself a way out without being zapped," He tried to coax while Broadway struggled to keep Angela away on his walkie. Randall shook his head no.

"If you're going down, I'm staying. I'm one of you now, remember?" The lizard monster asked, his eyes narrowed. Hudson smiled proudly. "Good on you, lad. But best brace yerself," He said sadly. Goliath talked through his own walkie talkie now.

"Angela, get out of here!" He roared. "Too late, we're here," Randall heard, right as he saw the sun coming up. He watched his new family in sadness and fear, heart racing, hearing their screams while turning to stone, trying to shield themselves.

Goliath's walkie hadn't turned to stone, so Randall managed to get it out since he hadn't gotten his own yet. "Elisa!" He shouted desperately. "You gotta help us! We're trapped and—!" He looked up at the sight of the bomb beeping very rapidly, yelling out, and curling up on the floor, awaiting death.

Suddenly the floor began to move, but not from the bomb. Looking up, shaking, Randall saw that the wall was rotating, and wound up now in a different building!

In front of him stood Xanatos, giving him a grin. "Surprise," He greeted. "I advise you to step away. My helicopters will take the clan," The man warned, Randall nodding in agreement, flinching when the building exploded, thankfully not harming his friends.

"X-Xanatos? H-How…?" He gasped, still shaking all over from their near death experience. The man shook his head no. "I'll explain everything back at home, Mr. Boggs. Now come before the news and Quarrymen see that you haven't died."

The lizard monster nodded, weakly walking with him outside while Owen and some PIT members helped move the gargoyle statues outside into crates to take back.

"But what about Angela? She thinks we're now dead," Randall said in a small voice. Xanatos lowered his eyes. "I'm sorry. We can't do anything about her and Bronx right now until we get things sorted out with the rest of you."

He had Randall sit down in one of his chairs to get over the shock of being nearly killed, which Randall was rather grateful for, but didn't like the idea of waiting until night for his friends to awake.

Another hour or two passes, Randall somewhat feeling impatient until finally he heard the door open; revealing Elisa. When she saw him, her eyes rounded and gasped, running over to him.

"Elisa!" Randall yelled out in happiness, hugging the female human in joy. He had been growing a strong bond with her more like the rest of the clan did, happy to have a human to be friends with him like this.

"Randall, how did you even survive? And where is the clan?" Elisa asked breathlessly.

Randall was about to speak but he saw Xanatos shake his head. Instead he asked. "Well, where's Angela?" He asked.

Elisa lowered her head. "She's in jail with Bronx. They've banned me from speaking to her," She revealed, making Randall growl a little at that. "And now she's all alone without her clan," She added in.

Xanatos grinned a little. "Not quite," He said, pressing the button again and soon revealing the statues of Goliath and the others, Randall happy that they weren't smashed up.

The sun had gone down at that moment; Goliath roaring when waking along with the rest of the clan, all lookign rightfully confused. "What happened?" Brook pondered, scratching his head.

Randall grinned at him. "Hey, Brooklyn!" He said, the red gargoyle glad Randall didn't die. "You have an explanation?"

Soon Xanatos told them about what he did to save them which really stunned the purple monster but grateful again that they had a billionaire on their side of this horrible war against the Quarrymen.

"And now, you all, now that the Quarrymen think you're dead, can make a fresh start on society, turn a new leaf as they say." Xanatos then offered. Randall's fronds lowered a little, not sure how he felt about that while Goliath shook his head no.

"Xanatos, your intentions are good. But it isn't in our nature to hide away, or abandon the protectorate." He stated firmly, Randall stunned but glad they wouldn't give up fighting the Quarrymen.

Broadway agreed. "And not only that, we gotta get Angela and Bronx out of the slammer!" He growled at David. He looked down. "I got to admit, that was one problem I didn't anticipate."

Randall turned to Brooklyn who spoke. "We can go to the police, have them know the clan is still alive and kicking!" He said in a brave way. But Randall didn't like that.

"And have them shoot you?" The purple monster said in a gruff way, making Brook glare at him but then agree a little. "If we hadn't fallen into that trap, all of us would've landed behind bars!"

Elisa nodded. "Randall's right. For the time being, Angela and Bronx are safe right where they are. Margot Yale may share some of the Quarrymen's views but she won't tolerate vigilante justice. I'm off to see what I can do tomorrow. But in the meantime, you guys, especially Randall, must lie low."

Randall rubbed his neck, yawning a little. "I for one can use some rest. No arguments here," He mumbled, as the group got ready to glide back to the Eyrie Building, but remain in the shadows. He hopped onto Brooklyn's back, the clan managing to make it there without being seen.

For the time being, they kept in tap on the news, Randall sitting in his old chair next to Brooklyn, seeing all sorts of protests on screen, especially one with him on it saying 'no more real monsters' which made him sad, that there are such radicalists out there ready to harm his wellbeing.

The people in the protests on the news complained about how freaky and spooky the gargoyles were until Brooklyn had enough, switching the television off in frustration. "They're right. Why should we stay if we're not wanted?"

Randall gazed at the floor. "Nobody liked me and my kind anyway before I met you guys. Especially since I nearly killed a child once," He said, hating himself more for it. Then Lex had a thought.

"What about all those places Goliath talked about? Avalon? Or Japan? Where we could meet other gargoyles?" He questioned, doing this strange fist bumping on the side of his body. Brook had a longing look in his eyes too.

"Other female gargoyles…" He sighed dreamily, making Randall grin playfully though he too desired to see all those places not just from children closets, Brook chuckling at his look. Goliath had heard them, coming up.

"I understand your feelings, but we cannot abandon that we can prove we deserve a place in human society. We have fought and suffered together to gain acceptance. Not because it was easy; because it was right. We cannot throw all that away."

The lizard monster rather liked his speech which was quite touching and brave, unable to help but nod in agreement. This would be a chance to prove to everyone he was more than a nightmare monster in a closet door. He could be a hero!

"You're right, Goliath. But… what could we do to save them? They're heading on a train tonight," Randall protested. Goliath grinned. "I have a plan," He said mysteriously, the clan looking at each other in excitement.

….

Meanwhile while the clan prepared themselves to carry out what Goliath would command them to do. The Quarrymen had a pep rally about finally smashing up the gargoyles, while Castaway himself would dispose of Randall personally, the one who humiliated him before.

Yale and Elisa escorted the caged Bronx and Angela to Penn station, the train now on its way. Elisa told Angela the clan and Randall were still alive, much to the gargess's relief.

The Quarrymen flew their helicopter above the train, ready to strike. Castaway instructed his Alpha team to land on the train, making it rattle and shake much to Yale and Elisa's surprise, though Elisa already knew who was there first.

The Quarrymen blasted the train with the gargoyles in it, Elisa pulling out her gun. "We're under attack!"

She tried to shoot her gun, missing them much to her disappointment. But then the flier of the helicopter detected six unidentified objects. It was the clan! Randall was tasked by Goliath to help Elisa while the others took on the rest of the Quarrymen. Brooklyn glided down to the opening in the train, Randall jumping off.

Yale screamed at the sight of him. "Y-You're that real monster!" She shrieked. Randall glared. "Shut up, lady! I'm helping my family!"

He was tackled by a Quarryman then, the two tumbling over each other, Randall swatting him with his tail, punching with his lower arm, Elisa shooting her gun. Her police backup was currently knocked out cold.

Bronx had been able to get himself and Angela out thanks to loose lasers, roaring and barking, rushing to help Randall who was pinned down.

"You will never save the freaks from being smashed! They're—Agh!" Bronx pounced the man, Randall gasping for air, smiling at the gar dog. "Thanks boy," He said gratefully, Bronx yipping joyfully, licking him.

Angela ran to hug him too. "Oh, I'm so glad you're alive!" She said tearfully. "Me too, but the others need—!" He couldn't finish when hearing a large explosion from afar, realizing it was on the train track. "That's not good," Randall muttered under his breath in dread.

After Goliath and the others took care of Beta squad, Goliath ripped through the sides of the car, Angela crying, seeing her mate Broadway and her father. Randall however smelled Castaway's scent coming from the train engine.

"Castaway's on board, Broadway. I gotta stop him once and for all!" He said in a brave tone, right as the train now began to speed up, making them all fall down. Randall struggled to stand, running to the side of the car, climbing up the wall to go across the ceiling of the train cars to get to the engine, gritting his teeth from the rush of wind in his face.

At one point he nearly fell off but was caught by Goliath. "We'll handle him together," The lavender leader stated with a determined smile, Randall smiling back. Upon reaching the engine, Goliath ripped through the ceiling, both he and Randall dodging a blast from Jon.

"I knew you gargoyles and monster wouldn't let me down!" Sneered Castaway. "Sacrificing yourselves trying to save everybody on board!"

Randall narrowed his eyes. "I used to think all humans were toxic in my world. But this… using a train to kill innocent people. It's madness for what? An ancient hatred?!" He shouted furiously.

Castaway cackled madly, swinging his hammer. "Come on then! I know you want another shot at your old rival! And how ironic that instead of saving lives, you'll end up costing them instead!"

He next shot his gun at the steering wheel after speeding it up more, waving his hand in front of Randall. "Nothing can stop us now!"

"I don't THINK so!" Randall bellowed back, tackling Castaway head on before Goliath could, slamming him against the wall. It had been too long since their last fight for him to finish it. He couldn't help but use his old smile from his fight with Sullivan. "You don't know how long I've been desiring to fight you again, Castaway!" He spat, punching the man, but wound up wincing in pain when Castaway's gun shot, hitting his shoulder.

Goliath helped him to his feet. "Are you alright?" He asked. Randall nodded.

"F-Finish the fight, Goliath. I had my turn." He said shakily. Goliath bowed his head, now going to grab Jon by his shirt, whose eyes were round.

"Go ahead, coward. Show us how truly feel about gargoyles. Here's your big chance! Show me!" He threatened, tossing Castaway against the controls that knocked him out, Randall fist pumping but then wincing again.

He grabbed all the humans along with Jon, Randall following him out of the train, where Goliath threw them down in the car where Elisa was, turning in fear at the sight of the broken bridge.

"What do we do about that?!" Randall yelled, shielding himself against the wind, Goliath first going to the coupling link, destroying it from the engine.

He turned to the rest of the clan who carried several of the Quarrymen. "Brooklyn! Save who you can off the train!" Shouted Goliath.

But Brooklyn however had other plans. "I have an idea on how to save them all! Just follow my lead!" He stole the jetpack off his Quarrymen along with the others, Randall wondering what Brook could be up too.

Brooklyn rammed one of the rockets into the train backwards. "Jam them in good and tight guys! Make sure they're pointing backwards!" He ordered, Lex and Hudson doing the same. "Have ye gone daft?!" The elder roared.

Lex shook his head. "No! It's like, retro rockets!" He protested, Randall now seeing what they were getting at, readying himself. "Good thinking, Brook!" The lizard shouted out.

Brooklyn grinned back at him, right as the engine fell down into the ravine under the bridge, exploding. Hudson looked nervous. "Whatever you're doing, you'd better do it now!"

"FIRE YOUR ENGINES!" Brook bellowed, turning his rocket on, Hudson and Lex turning theirs on, causing Randall to fall backward but his tail kept him from falling off the train, shutting his eyes, the cars slowing down, until nearly reaching the edge of the broken tracks.

The train cars finally stopped. Randall peeked his eyes open, shaking and panting all over. Brooklyn did it! He sat up. Hudson grinned a little at Brooklyn. "Could you have cut it a little close, laddie?" Brook shrugged, smiling innocently, the group jumping off, with Goliath carrying Randall.

They all gathered around in their victory along with Elisa, Angela and Bronx. "Good plan, Brooklyn," Randall said with a grin, holding out his fist. Brooklyn nodded back, fist bumping him in return.

"Well done, all of you. I've never been proud of this clan as I am this night," Goliath praised, Randall's eyes moistening, glad to have finally defeated the Hunter for good. Suddenly cheering came, which felt pleasant to his ears, making him sigh in relief. The people finally liked them now.

Brooklyn put a hand around Randall's shoulder. "About time, eh?" He asked playfully. Randall agreed. "Yeah. About time." His soul now felt light, like a burden had been lifted. Mrs. Yale soon decreed the gargoyles and Randall Boggs as permanent citizens of New York city, allowing them to roam about whenever they pleased and not needing to go into hiding.

But something nagged at the back of Randall's mind, feeling like his adventures with his friend Brooklyn weren't quite over yet, and that this was only the beginning.

A little epilogue to announce the sequel to Randall and the Night Warriors will soon come.
