The smell of fresh pies and pastries awoke me.
"Morning Ray-Ray! Want do you want for brekkie? I've got croissants. I've got bagels. I've got-"
"That's alright Dad," I said. "I'm not hungry."
Billy's face drooped.
"That's ok... I'll just... give 'em to Sue. ...Yeah. Sue."
He wheeled out of the room with a sad expression on his face. Awkward.
I went upstairs to get ready for the day. I had a sneaky peek into Jake's room. He was gone. Probably out hunting with his pack. That means Paul would be gone too. Damn it.
I brushed my teeth, took a quick shower, brushed my hair and got changed. I didn't bother with what I was wearing. I just threw on whatever was in front of me, which just so happened to be denim shorts and my graduation sweater.
Billy was gone when I got downstairs. He had gone to deliver his pastries.
I pulled out my laptop and started looking online for jobs. I had been doing this for the past year. Trying to find something that I really wanted to do more than anything else.
I decided to search for jobs in Forks. Might as well get a little cash while I was here.
I chose a little restaurant called the 'Carver Cafe'. I submitted my resume and waited for a reply.
A loud bang sounded from outside. I ran to the door and was shocked at what I found.
