Presenting Kayla Kent as Carole King
-December 2022-
Kayla sat in the room next to Caitlin.
Currently, Caitlin was getting her chemo treatment and Kayla had come with her. Kayla tried as much as she could while filming the Santa Clause to be here, but now that the movie was done filming she could be here more with nothing on her plate until January, when she started filming for Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. It was weird for her not to be filming one thing after the other, but it gave her time to take care of the kids, plan a birthday party for Ruby and Marley, and be there for Caitlin.
Dani was sitting on her lap as they sat with Caitlin and then started to cry; Kayla bouncing her wasn't stopping it.
"Take her for a walk," Caitlin said, a little tiredly and frustrated. "I'll be here for a while yet."
"Okay," Kayla said, giving her wife a nod and stood up to take Dani for a walk around the hospital, walking around aimlessly through the halls just to calm Dani down - and it seemed to work.
"Ariel!" Kayla heard a small voice calling and Kayla turned to see a small girl who clearly had cancer pointing at her. "Mom, it's Ariel!"
The mother of the child seemed shocked, looking at Kayla who decided to give a smile.
"Well, hello there," Kayla said coming up to the child; Dani clapping her hands and yelling 'hi' as well.
"I love your movie," the child said and then, to Kayla surprise, hugged her. Kayla put an arm around the girl and for a moment.
"Well thank you. What a beautiful princess you are," Kayla said making the girl smile. "Would you like a picture?"
"Mom?" the girl said turning to her mother.
"Um… yes," the woman said, taking out a cellphone and Kayla kneeled down and put one arm around the child while still holding Dani. Kayla smiled as the mom snapped the picture. "Thank you." The woman said afterward and Kayla gave her a nod. "Why are you…?"
"My wife is getting her treatment," Kayla said and the mother nodded, probably having heard that Kayla's wife had cancer.
Before Kayla could move off, there were suddenly several kids around her with their parents. Word must have spread quick and Dani was laughing and clapping at the attention. "Not helpful, sweetie," Kayla mumbled but smiled at all the sick children. She must have wandered off into the child section and she didn't want to disappoint them now.
…
Caitlin was wondering where Kayla had gone. Her treatment was over for today and Kayla hadn't returned.
"Found your wife," a nurse said, bringing a wheelchair over. Caitlin hated she had to use a wheelchair before and after the treatments, but it was hospital policy and she was weak after the treatment. "Come on..."
Caitlin was surprised as the nurse brought her through the hospital to the children's section but smiled when she heard Kayla singing: "I don't know when I don't know how but I know something started right now," Kayla was singing and Caitlin saw her in a room with a bunch of children patients with parents around. Kayla was still holding Danielle in her arms and the girl was practically asleep from her mother's singing voice. "Watch and you'll see. Someday I'll be. Part of your world."
The children were smiling and Kayla finally caught sight of Caitlin by the door. "Ah, I think that's my cue," Kayla said and could hear the kids moan. "It's time for me to go. Goodbye everyone. It was lovely meeting you all." Kayla took a minute saying goodbye to kids and parents as the parents thanked her.
"Sorry," Kayla said to Caitlin as she gave the nurse with Caitlin a nod, putting Dani in Caitlin's lap as she took the wheelchair.
"Never say sorry for making sick kids smile," Caitlin said, holding Dani close to her, at least thankful due to Kayla's gene they would never have to worry about Dani getting sick; but her mind went to Ruby, Marley, and even Zari. All three could end up sick and that worried Caitlin.
-Beautiful-
After returning Caitlin home, Kara showed up with her kids to take care of Caitlin now.
"Go," Kara said to her sister, seeming to know what Kayla wanted and had probably heard the idea forming in her head. Kayla gave a nod and left; she needed to get to Lucy's office. Krypto, who she left at home while she was at the hospital, ran out with Kayla too.
Arriving at Lucy's office a few minutes later, Kayla had barely opened the door before Lucy was on her.
"Kayla," Lucy said, as Kayla entered. "The next time you visit sick kids in a hospital, give me the heads up so I can arrange more press around it..." Krypto gave a bark and Lucy gave the dog a nod.
"It wasn't planned," Kayla said, taking a seat. "Lucy, I need you."
"If not having a project until Zoey Extraordinary Playlist is driving you crazy, I am sure there are a million shows and movies that would love a cameo from you," Lucy said.
"No, not that. I need a favor," Kayla said.
"Still in the middle of the last favor you asked for," Lucy said, and Kayla had to admit she had asked Lucy a favor recently - after discovering everything with Diana, Kayla knew if she eventually wanted Diana's story told right she needed it done herself. She had told Lucy everything and Lucy was working on making sure Kayla had the rights and plans for when Jace came back. Kayla hadn't told him a month - only 2023 - so could be any time between January and December next year.
"Okay, I need another favor then. One that's more important," Kayla said, and Lucy waited. "Since Caitlin got cancer, I have been seeing a lot of the struggles and I want to do something for them."
"Write a check to cancer charities," Lucy said, shrugging.
"You know I have donated my own money, but I want to do something bigger," Kayla said.
"Something tells me you have an idea," Lucy said.
"Kayla Kent as Carole King in concert," Kayla said, and could almost see Lucy's shock; Lucy had, at one time, tried to convince Kayla to start a music career, but Kayla had shot the idea down, preferring acting. "All proceeds going to cancer charities. I could even remake Tapestry and have sales of that go as well."
"And where would this concert take place?" Lucy asked. "If you want to raise money for charity you can't have the venue taking too much of the ticket sales."
"STAR Convention Hall," Kayla said, taking Lucy's keyboard and mouse from her and bringing up the STAR Convention Hall website. "Look, Sci Fi Con is over, Hero con is not until February, Musical Con in April, our Gen Con is in the summer. The next Sci Fi con is after that so Doctor Who Con can be in November."
"STAR is doing an official Doctor Who con?" Lucy asked.
"Yeah, one here and one in Britain, don't ask," Kayla said. "My point being is, the hall is not even rented out any time in January. We've done outdoor concerts before there. January in Central should be perfect weather."
Lucy looked at the plans for a moment and then pushed a button on her phone. "Mona, can you come in here?" Lucy asked and a moment later the door opened and a young Asian woman walked in.
"Kayla Kent! I didn't even see you walk in," Mona said, a smile on her face. Kayla paused at the excitement. "I saw you at San Diego Con, the one where you fought with Samantha Arias. I was the one who asked you if you ever watched the finale during the Magical Creature panel."
"Oh. I remember," Kayla said suddenly remembering the woman. It has been disappointing for the audience to realize that Kayla hadn't come back to film for that, the production company having used unreleased footage and a body double to make her scene in the finale - something Kayla had never realized until Mona had asked at the convention.
"Mona, what have I told you about not getting too overexcited at every celebrity who walk in?" Lucy sighed, and Mona gave a nod. "I need you to call over to legal and have them make a non-profit for Kayla - something about fighting cancer. They can be creative with the name. I also need you to look up whoever is representing Carole King these days and send me their number."
"Yes ma'am," Mona said, rushing out of the office.
"What happened to your former assistant? That Ava girl was good," Kayla said.
"Still working here, but now as an agent herself," Lucy said and Kayla gave a nod, impressed.
"Non-profit?" Kayla asked instead.
"To collect the donations before you give them out to charities of your choice," Lucy said and Kayla gave a nod. "Now I'm going to work on getting the rights to Carole King's music. You go fill Barry and Harry in and get the concert scheduled."
"Come on Krypto," Kayla said, smiling, and Krypto jumped up following Kayla out.
-Beautiful-
It had been a few days since Kayla went to Lucy with her idea and she had gotten the rest of her family - and extended family - on board; Harry was fast in getting it on STAR Convention's books and getting everything set up.
"Come on, you have to include a duet between me and you," Barry was now saying to Kayla.
Kara and Caitlin were both looking up cancer charities together that were worthy of the money Kayla would raise, and even Lex and Lena were volunteering technology to help. Cat, Clark, and Lois were planning on getting the news all over CatCo and the Daily Planet. Meanwhile, Barry had been annoying Kayla to get on the stage.
"Barry, it's a Carole King concert with me taking the role of Carole King. What song are we going to do a duet of?" Kayla asked.
"I don't know, but you know Topar wants on the stage too with you," Barry said and Kayla had to laugh as her doorbell rang.
"Lucy still hasn't gotten the rights to…" Kayla started as she went to answer the door and was surprised enough that she stopped talking as waiting outside her door was Carole King herself. "Carole?" Kayla gave a smile as she welcomed Carole with a hug, inviting the woman inside.
"Ms. King," Barry said, surprised. He was the only one in the house with Kayla as Zari was filming the season finale of Jurassic World, and Kara had taken her; Daphne was out and Caitlin had taken the girls somewhere. She was feeling good on this day and wanted to spend some alone time with her three daughters.
"Oh, Barry, call me Carole," Carole said as she came into the room and Kayla shut the door. "Well, I think it's no secret why I am here. Your agent tracked me down and I have given your non-profit the right to use every song I have ever written as you see fit."
"Well, this is great news, but I can't help but notice Lucy could have told me this," Kayla said as she led Carole into the living room and they all took a seat. "So, why the visit?"
"You have never done a concert before and this one needs to go right if you want to earn a lot of money. I'm volunteering to help you," Carole said. "Decide what songs to include. Give you a run down."
"Oh, thank you," Kayla said.
"Hey you're the expert," Barry said. "What song would you think would be a good duet for me and Kayla?"
"Pleasant Valley Sunday," Carole said instantly making Kayla and Barry look at each other.
"Okay," Kayla said and Barry cheered. "And Take Good Care of my Baby might be cute with Topar..." Kayla knew she wouldn't disappoint her nephew if he wanted on stage with her. "Carole, want to do So Far Away with me?"
"You read my mind," Carole said giving Kayla a smirk. "I was thinking right before an intermission we could end part one with that." Kayla gave a smile as her and Carole started to talk over what songs to include, with Barry butting in opinions every once in a while.
-Beautiful-
December had passed with Kayla continuing to prepare for her concert. The only main events in between was Ruby and Marley's birthdays and of course Christmas - with the release of Kayla's Santa Clause movie upcoming. Caitlin, sadly, continued with her chemo treatments. They were at the end of December right now right before New Years.
Kayla had recorded every song from Tapestry to make a new CD: Tapestry by Kayla Kent. It would be sold to help raise money as well. Right now, they were making a cover for the CD which Kayla was going to redo what Carole had done.
"Thanks for letting me do the photo," Daphne said with a smile; they were setting up the living room to look as close to the Carole King cover as possible. Kayla had even curled her hair today to match Carole's.
"So, where is the…?" Daphne began.
Before Daphne finished there was a flash of speed and New Justice Rae was in the room with a pet carrier. "Hi, Paragon of Humanity," Rae said.
"Paragon of Truth," Kayla said, nodding. "So, what has been going on with your world that you missed our Rae's pop up?"
"My world needed me," Rae stated, simply. Kayla decided not to press it. "Now, why do you need a Kryptonian cat?" Rae opened the carrier and took out a large brown, striped, cat that Kayla smiled. The coloring was perfect.
"I'm re-making the Tapestry CD and need a cat for the cover. Figured a Kryptonian would be easier to use," Kayla said, taking the cat to a moan from Krypto.
"Tapestry. Carole King?" Rae asked with a smile. "You know Will You Still Love me Tomorrow is mine and Kara's song." Rae noticed the looks from everyone in the room. "We... started as a one night stand. Send me a copy of the CD when done."
"Not a problem. We shouldn't be longer than a half hour with…" Kayla paused looking at the collar on the cat for a name, "...Cleo."
"Take as long as you need. She's yours," Rae said, making Kayla blink. "My Kara said to keep her."
"Krypto doesn't…" Kayla didn't finish her sentence before Rae had run out, "...like cats," Kayla sighed as Krypto moaned again.
"We got a cat," Ruby said with a smile, signing it to her sister. Caitlin, who was holding Dani in a chair, was giving Kayla a look.
"We'll see," Kayla said noticing Krypto's look and thinking shipping Cleo off to Uncle Jor and Aunt Lara for Gal after this might be the better answer. Kara and Barry had their hands full with the twins, Roxie and Rae's speedster turtle, after all.

January, 2023.
They had decided to do the concert January 13th - the day before Barry's birthday and the week before both Barry and Kayla had to start filming for Zoey Extraordinary Playlist and the spinoff which Barry was starring in.
Harrison Wells had gone all out with the stage - Kayla's piano was right in the middle of it, and there were several screens - the one right behind Kayla would show pictures and videos as Kayla played, while another large one had the amount of donations already earned on it with top donor's named written along with a website to go to where to donate. So far, the board was showing the amount from the ticket sales, CD sales and other donations already given. Then there were several other screens around the field that would show Kayla for the people in the back. CatCo was filming the concert for TV broadcast as well and was going to make a DVD to sell for the charites. They were setting up their cameras now.
Kayla looked over the set she and Carole had come up with; an average concert had about 20 songs, so the two had decided for a little less than that: 18 songs in total. 9 in a first part, a 15 minute intermission, and 9 in the second.
Good size crowd, it was Kara in her head, letting Kayla see the audience already coming in. They had sold a lot of tickets. Kara was with Harrison Wells in the back where he would control what pictures and videos played on the screen. Caitlin was there with Daphne and Zari, Marley, and Ruby. Danielle and the twins were being watched by Uncle Jor and Aunt Lara.
Yeah, wish me luck, Kayla thought back.
You don't need it, Kara thought back.
It wasn't long later that: "STAR Convention Center presents Kayla Kent as Carole King," was announced over a speaker and Kayla stepped out from backstage onto the stage. The audience cheered and clapping as Kayla waved her hand and went right to the piano. She waited a moment for the cheering to calm down and played a few notes to single she was starting.
The first song in the set was Beautiful, of could. She had purposely choose to make the last song of the film, Beautiful, the first for this concert. Harry putting photos taken on the set of the movie up on the screen behind Kayla as she sang.
After she was done singing out the last words she took the microphone and stood up.
"Well, a Beautiful start I think," Kayla said with a smile. "And I appreciate all the donations I've received already. You know, since I have been going to my wife's cancer treatments I have seen all the suffering due to this awful disease. My hope is the money earned from this concert will help make new treatments and help those suffering now."
Kayla smiled as she saw a new big donation came in. "Well, I don't think you want to hear my talking. Let's continue to sing," Kayla said, going back to the piano and putting the microphone back in it's place.
"My life has been a tapestry," Kayla started the next song, which was Tapestry, "of rich and royal hues..." As Kayla sang, this time Harry put random images of her life on the backdrop and, once she'd finished that song, Kayla didn't stop to talk as she went right into the next song which was 'It Might as Well Rain Until September'. Afterward, she sang 'Smackwater Jack' - not her favorite song in Tapestry, but all of Tapestry was going to be in the concert.
Afterward Topar came onto the stage, to cheering from the crowds, and the two sang 'Take Good Care of my Baby' together; Topar standing next to the piano as the two sang. They had been practicing this for a while together of who would sing what words.
After the song was over, Kayla stood up again and put her arms around Topar, who laughed with his microphone in his hand, holding it up so Kayla could talk through it.
"Everyone, my nephew Topar Kent," Kayla said; Topar had, obviously, chosen to use Kent as a stage name just like Kayla, much to Barry's disappointment that he hadn't used Allen. "He played my son in The Santa Clause 6: The Inheritance Clause," as Kayla said, this a photo of Kayla and Topar on set with Tim Allen appeared on the screen. "Keep an eye on this one. He'll be as big as me one day."
"Bigger!" Topar said.
"Oh really?" Kayla said, messing up the boy's hair. "Don't get a big head, my boy. And time to get off the stage," Kayla joked as Topar laughed, kissing Kayla's cheek and then ran off the stage. "And looks like we're approaching our goal quickly, but we still need more. Let's continue singing and see if we can get there."
Kayla turned back to her piano as she played 'It's Too Late'. Afterward, she started to play 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow'?', and as Kayla sang, her mind turned to New Justice Rae and her Kara. She could picture them as a one night stand developing into something more, so the song did fit them.
"You know," Kayla said after the song was over. "I know some people who danced to that song for their first dance. Sounds weird but works considering they started as a one night stand," Kayla said with a smile, before moving onto her next song. It being 'Just Once in My Life'.
After that, it was the last song before the intermission which was 'So Far Away'. Kayla smirking as she started this one. "So far away. Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore? It would be so fine to see your face at my door. Doesn't help to know you're just time away."
Kayla stopped singing and a new voice continued: "Long ago I reached for you and there you stood. Holding you again could only do me good. How I wish I could, but you're so far away," Carole King was singing, appearing on the stage and Kayla could hear the excitement and cheers. This would be the first time ever Kayla and Carole sang together - they had appeared together before, both on stage when Kayla played her in the Beautiful play, and when Carole had come second in the Masked Singer, but never had truly sang together like this.
"One more song about movin' along the highway," Kayla and Carole sang together as Carole moved over to stand near the piano. "Can't say much of anything that's new. If I could only work this life out my way. I'd rather spend it bein' close to you."
Carole took a seat next to Kayla on the bench and the two effortlessly switched who was playing the song as they continued to sing. "But you're so far away." Kayla was holding the microphone now as Carole played the piano and sang into the microphone there. They had practiced this for hours to get it right. "Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore? It would be so fine to see your face at my door. Doesn't help to know you're so far away. Yeah, you're so far away."
Kayla was standing by the piano now and Kayla sang the next line alone. "Travel around sure gets me down and lonely. Nothing else to do but close my mind," Kayla sang and then Carole sang "I sure hope the road don't come to own me. There's so many dreams I've yet to find."
The two then sang the last chorus together. "But you're so far away. Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore? It would be so fine to see your face at my door. It doesn't help to know you're so far away. yeah, you're so far away. Hey, you're so far away."
Carole played the last notes to the song and Kayla held up her hand as she stood up. "Carole King everyone!" Kayla said as the clapping got louder. "Thank you for being here and singing with me Carole."
"It was my pleasure. When I got the call saying you wanted to do this I didn't hesitate to let you use my songs and I am honored to be up here with you. And I want to do more which is why right now I am pledging $50,000 to your nonprofit," Carole said.
"Wow! Thank you, Carole," Kayla said putting an arm around her as the audience clapped. She knew that Carole was donating this amount but had to act surprised for the audience. "And right now, we will be taking a 15 minute intermission. We will be back with more music then and make sure to continue to donate."
The two gave a small bow as they then went off the stage and backstage. Kayla taking a breath.
"Enjoying your first concert?" Carole said.
"Yeah," Kayla said. "It's scary up there though. No re-takes like a show or movie. More like being in a play but even in a play I am more out of my own head."
"Well, you're a natural," Carole said giving Kayla a nod. "But the audience like interaction, so try and play with them a little, give yourself to them a little more."
"I'll try, it's very... alien to me," Kayla admitted, to which Carole nodded, putting a reassuring hand on Kayla's shoulder at this.
Kayla took her water during the intermission and a breath, using Kara's mind to see the reaction of the crowd. It looked good. The 15 minutes were up fast, though, and Kayla was back on the stage - this time with Barry next to her. Carole King had agreed to play the piano so Barry and Kayla could dance as they sang 'Pleasant Valley Sunday'. Harry putting images on screen of Kara and Barry together in real life and in their parts.
"Thank you, Barry Allen," Kayla said to her brother-in-law, "for singing with me and your generous donation."
"My…?" Barry said being caught off guard but then understood. "Oh, of course. Of course! I donated $20,000."
"And thank you Carole for playing the piano," Kayla said with a smile to Carole as both left the stage.
Kayla taking her seat back at the piano and singing 'Way Over Yonder' followed by 'Where You Lead'. Due to Gilmore Girls, 'Where You Lead' had become a big mother/daughter song so Harry put pictures of Kayla and Kara with Lana on the screen from when they arrived on Earth to now. Of course, Kayla and Kara being alien wasn't exactly public knowledge, so the public just knew that Lana had adopted them as teenagers, and not their lives before that. "That song was for my adopted mom Lana," Kayla said after that. "Thank you so much for all you did for me and Kara." Her next song was Carole King's 'Nightingale'.
After that next was 'You've Got a Friend'.
"When you're down and troubled. And you need some lovin' care. And nothin', nothin' is goin' right. Close your eyes and think of me. and soon I will be there. To brighten up even your darkest night," Kayla sang and her mind started to drift to her friends. "You just call out my name. And you know, wherever I am. I'll come runnin' to see you again."
Kayla mind went to her best friend ever: Sara. Kayla hadn't talked to her for over two months now since discovering she had been working for Rip Hunter to spy on Kayla, and she was starting to realize she missed Sara. "Winter, spring, summer, or fall. All you have to do is call. And I'll be there, yes, I will."
Kara, sensing where Kayla's mind was going as she sang, nudged Harry and got him to put photos of Kayla and Sara. There were a lot to choose from - the two having taken photos on sets together and in personal life. Kayla smiled as she saw the photos and she continued to sing. "Now ain't it good to know that you've got a friend. When people can be so cold? They'll hurt you, yes, and desert you. And take you're soul if you let them. oh, but don't you let them."
At this point Kayla started playing on the piano but didn't sing. "You know," Kayla spoke into the microphone instead continuing to play the music, also remembering Carole's words of advise of playing with the audience. "I have a friend. A best friend. Who's been with me through a lot. We got into… a disagreement a while back and I might have held a grudge a little too long. Sara Lance, this song is for you."
Kayla started to sing again at that. "You just call out my name. and you know wherever I am. I'll come runnin', runnin', yeah, yeah. To see you again. Winter, spring, summer or fall. All you have to do is call. And I'll be there, yes, I will. You've got a friend. You've got a friend. Ain't it good to know you've got a friend. Ain't it good to know, ain't it good to know. Ain't it good to know. You've got a friend. Oh, yeah, now you've got a friend. Yeah baby, you've got a friend. Oh yeah, you've got a friend."
The next song Kayla sung was 'Home Again'. After that was her last three and she was ending on high notes. First being 'Loco Motion' where several people came out to dance to it, then 'Natural Woman' and ending on 'I Feel The Earth Move' as her last song.
After it was over, Kayla took the microphone. "Wow, thank you everyone - and it looks like we bypassed our goal. Thank you everyone," Kayla said. "But would anyone mind one more song?" She could feel Kara's shock but heard the excitement in the crowd. "Before, I do I need to tell you a story. When my-now wife, then-girlfriend, was moving into my house with her daughters and sister I was away filming The Little Mermaid."
Kayla paused as a photo of her as Ariel appeared on the screen behind her. "And Harrison Wells is fast and good, since he didn't even know I was going to tell this story," Kayla joked with a smile. "Anyway, my sister-in-law is a bit of a snoop and was going through my things and found a binder with song lyrics and sheet music I had made." Kayla could hear the excitement as they figured where this story was going. "Well, Caitlin took it from Daphne and gave it to Barry to give to Kara. My brother-in-law though is a bit of a snoop himself and Kara saw him reading it. Well, Kara asked him 'what are you doing with Kayla's diary'." Kayla paused for a laugh at this. "Yes I write my diary as song lyrics with accompanying music. And I have played these songs for no one. The only people who have ever heard them is myself, Kara, and Krypto."
Krypto, who had been sitting beside the stage quietly the entire concert gave a bark. "But tonight, you all will hear one. Just one," Kayla said turning to her piano. "Sorry if it's not very good."
Kayla started to play at that. Her music was her best attempt at Kryptonian music on a piano - humanized Kryptonian, just like her. So, it was like nothing else on Earth as Kayla sang the words out. It was a song she had written right after Caitlin told her she had cancer, a song about shock, sorrow and love. Kayla put as much love and emotion into the song as she could, despite having never sung it before in public.
When she was done everything was quiet for a moment before the audience started to clap. Kayla then stood up and took a bow before leaving the stage. Kayla taking a deep breath and a smiled as she was done.
You might want to make that a solo single to sell, Kara thought to her sister and Kayla gave a laugh. The concert was done and she had earned a lot of money for cancer charities. She could hear the audience wanting more, but Harrison was quick now as he took to the stage to to his best MC-ing and telling the audience the show was over and keeping the crowd happy as they began to disperse.
-Beautiful-
That night, Kayla was putting Ruby and Marley into bed. The two exhausted.
"Kayla," Caitlin called and Kayla came down the stairs; standing besides Caitlin was Sara. "I'll give you two a moment."
Caitlin went into the master bedroom to take off her wig, Kayla walking all the way down the stairs standing before Sara.
"I saw your concert. It was good," Sara said, a little meekly.
"Thanks," Kayla said giving Sara a smile and then pulling her into a big hug.
"Not so tight," Sara mumbled but hugged Kayla back. "So, I'm forgiven?"
"Yes," Kayla said. "But if Rip Hunter gives you any other instructions, you come to me first." Kayla whispered this.
"Of course," Sara said with a nod.
"Tea?" Kayla asked, finally pulling out of the hug, and Sara gave a smile as they went to the kitchen. She had missed Sara and knew her working for Rip had been out of either of their control, but today had proved to her she needed her friend.
Post Chapter Note: Well, this wasn't an easy chapter to write as I wanted to write out all the songs, so just had to stick to just a few, but I hope it was enjoyable. And that's it for Beautiful now! Next up we head back into 2022 with New Justice: Madness of the League, Part 2!
