A BLACK HEART Chapter 18
A/N:- Well… I'm just saying this in advance… this might not be the best chapter, but this is the best I have come up with after five days of deep thinking and changing the idea at least six times… if I have time left, then I'll tell you guys the scrapped ideas in the A/N at the end! Thank you! Have a nice read!
"So… last time, we crashed a funeral, this time we're crashing an engagement… are we gonna crash a birthday the next time?" Jason joked as they all walked to the site of the party.
"Who knows?" Percy said, dressed in a black suit with a sea green tie.
"Focus on the present, man," Reyna said, who herself was dressed in a silver gown.
The son of Jupiter was wearing a blue suit with a bouquet in his hands to provide to the bride. "I don't have a present!"
Percy and Reyna rolled their eyes as they entered a huge lawn-type of thing that was entirely decorated with balloons and whatnot. All in all, it really looked like an engagement of a normal person and not a future mafia boss.
Though, Percy found the evening to be an odd time to hold such a party.
People, all dressed in colorful suits were surrounding them, and in the middle stood the couple.
Assunta Maresca's Grandson, Luca Maresca, and the daughter of a famous businessman, Alessandra Gonzalves. They looked quite happy and quite in love with each other.
And, the thing about the guards, Percy wasn't sure how many were there. But he did know that none of these were innocent and had committed several crimes as well. And that all of them deserved to die.
On a superficial level, however, no one seemed to be armed or trained to fight. But several people appeared jittery and tensed as if they knew something bad was going to happen. Percy didn't give that much thought though as he kept walking.
The plan, however, was simple. One head had to fly. The rest would follow. But first, they had to merge in.
They didn't need to manipulate the mist as Percy went up to the makeshift bar and grabbed two drinks, knowing Jason wouldn't consume alcohol.
"Alcohol doesn't affect us, man!" Percy had tried explaining to him.
But he never listened.
Reyna took a sip of her wine and asked Percy as they stayed on the outskirts of the party. "When do we start?"
Luca had just slipped the ring onto Alessandra's finger as Percy smirked. "Now. You guys know what to do, right?"
Reyna and Jason nodded as Percy took out two hunting knives. A gift from Apollo and Artemis. He sighed. He didn't really want to use them, but he couldn't reveal his identity as a demigod yet.
Percy rushed into the crowd, twirling the knives in his fingers as he sliced and stabbed through the hordes as he moved in one single direction, straight towards the couple.
It was as if time had slowed down as he cut through the people who didn't even realize that they had been wounded or killed.
He sped through in a dazed craze as he laughed maniacally at the blood bath, red liquid falling everywhere including his face as he dug deeper.
Soon, he saw Luca turning to him, a look of horror on his face as Percy's blade hit the portion right above his collarbone and easily and swiftly, sliced his head right off of his shoulders.
Just as the head dropped on the ground, blood spraying everywhere as if on cue, Percy came to a stop, and time returned to its normal speed.
A pause as the several survivors swallowed in the horrors of the scene that had taken place in front of them and saw the mercenary, a tall figure hunched a little with his back to them and two knives in his hands, blood dripping from them.
Percy turned his head towards them, blood staining his face as his green eye glowed in the dark night sky. And that was the final straw.
Several of them screamed and trembled and fell back like dominos. One of them called out, terrified. "IT'S HIM! HE'S HERE!"
Percy scoffed. They had been informed about his plans. This was going to be a major pain in the ass. "You guys seriously are up to no good."
He was about to send them all to hell but he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder as he gasped and turned around to look at the huge number of suited guards that had appeared out of nowhere.
He swore as his shoulder healed up and the bullet fell out. Percy waited for them to do something but, turns out, they were doing the same as they eyed each other. It was about five hundred versus one, but still… the winner was determined.
Just then, he heard a car horn and they all looked that way. Storm clouds gathered above them in the night sky as thunder rolled. Percy smirked and ran towards the exit to see a black car standing there.
He turned just as he was at the doorway and jumped in a way that he dived right through the open back window and landed on the seat.
A huge lightning bolt struck the ground and an explosion could be heard.
"Careful man!" Jason yelled as he floored the accelerator. He knew that the lightning blast wasn't going to stop them from coming, but it would delay them, and that was the plan.
"Wipe yourself up," Reyna said as she tied her hair up, knowing that soon it'd be time for action. "You're soiling the Rolls Royce."
Percy's eyeballs almost popped out. "You guys stole a Rolls Royce?"
"The hardest thing was convincing Mr. Morality to help in the theft."
Percy laughed as if he had just not decimated many criminal lords. The blood on his face evaporated as he drank the coke that Jason provided him with.
"What made him agree?" Percy asked.
"She told me that we're thieving from thieves," Jason said, even though a little bit of regret was there in his voice.
Percy sighed as he remembered what he had to ask. "Anyway, have any of you spoken to anyone and told them anything?"
Both of them shook their heads without any hesitation and instantly Percy knew they weren't lying. He sighed again. This was a major mishap. He was pretty sure he hadn't told Ashley's guards anything other than the fact that he had arrived.
So there could've been no other way for them to know that they were going to be there. Then how? How did they get to know?
His thoughts were broken as the car came to a screeching stop.
"What happened?" Percy asked but Jason didn't have to give an answer. Outside an entire squadron of armed guards and black cars were surrounding them as a huge black helicopter whirred over their heads.
"Shit," Reyna said as Percy's mind started racing. He looked out the window to see a train station and he got an idea.
"Drive straight into the station, full speed," He explained to Jason as the assailants, for some reason, weren't attacking.
"But, the car," Jason started but was cut off.
"Do it! Drive into the gate, I'll handle the rest."
The son of Jupiter reluctantly pushed his foot on the accelerator and veered left, straight into the station, breaking the metal pillars and barriers and some headlights.
But that didn't stop them. They smashed through the gate and Percy could hear the guards screaming.
As soon as they entered, they ditched the car and started running, and immediately Percy noticed something wrong.
There was absolutely no one in there.
But before they could do anything, the steps of the armed people were heard as they entered through the gate. Clearly, they were not scared of him.
"What're we gonna do now?" Reyna asked as she got into a fighting stance.
Percy didn't reply for a second before he grabbed the two of them by the collar.
"Percy, what're you doing?" Jason asked, franticly.
"Saving you," He said as he pushed them into a shadow. "Carry on the mission if I don't come back. You guys know where to go. I'll deal with them."
Before they could say anything, they dissolved into the darkness as Percy turned back to the horde of suited men waiting for him.
To be honest, he wasn't scared. He had faced worse and not once or twice but multiple times. These small fries were going to be nothing.
The only thing he was worried about was to leave one alive, so that he could ask them who their informer was.
"You're outnumbered," One of them said. "Jackson or not, we'll destroy you!"
"Oh, this is so cliché," Percy said as he sighed. "I heard the exact thing from another person few days ago. And guess what, he's lying in a pile of dust right now, which you soon will be too!"
The men roared and opened fire on him and he just smirked, while walking forward, the bullets all stopping before him as the attackers grew more and more frightened.
Soon, he was nose to nose with the guy who had spoken up earlier.
"Let's start with you."
Saying that, he touched the man's chest and pushed him backward. For a second, nothing happened and the terrified men started laughing but Percy just smiled.
The victim slowly stopped laughing as he couldn't breathe and started gasping. He looked down to see a hole in his chest that was becoming bigger and bigger as he tried to scream but no words came out.
The rest, however, could and they started running for it but Percy wouldn't allow that. He had to crush Maresca's empire so badly that no one would dare to take that position.
Percy rushed through the crowd, laughing as all of them tried vainly to injure him as he just slightly touched them and the disintegration process took place. He was basking in the tortured screams of the men as he laughed like a psychotic maniac.
Soon, no one was left, and again, just like he thought, he forgot to leave one alive as he stood in between the piles of dust and just sighed, taking off his blazer, leaving him in a black shirt whose sleeves he had rolled up.
He tied his hair up and decided to rest for a moment and in that moment of vulnerability, he heard someone he never was supposed to.
"Hey, ghost head, long time no see!" The female voice said as he just stood there, eyes wide. "That was quite a scary thing you did there!"
Percy took his time as he turned around slowly, his mouth slightly open as memories flooded his mind. It was Cam standing right there, in the flesh. He just couldn't say anything.
Everything was rushing in his mind as he looked at her smiling face. The same blue eyes looked at him cheerfully and her white hair had grown longer out of that pixie cut.
Suddenly, the scene shifted and they were on a train, one that was moving. He was broken out of his stupor as he looked around.
"What?" He exclaimed. "Who are you!?"
"Why, of course," She said as she sat down on a seat. "I'm your long gone friend, Camilla Clawthorne! Kinda sad that you forgot me so soon!
A/N:- So, this is the eighteenth chapter! Again, a little short but do let me know how you liked it… and, I know I promised you the other possibilities… so, here they are… my first one had Percy kidnapping the couple, and the second one had him killing only the couple… but then, I scrapped those two and thought of making Maresca's guards intercept them before they could do anything! But, then I thought that it won't be faithful to the main idea, so I then settled on this idea. Two decimations in one day! Anyway… again, do give reviews! Thank you, have a nice day!
