Several days later

"You are indeed pregnant," Pavlina announced.

You would think with a name like Pavlina that she would be an exotic beauty and while she was a beautiful woman she was hardly exotic. She was white with long blonde hair and the most amazing green eyes. The shape of her eyes were tilted, which said she likely had some Mediterranean or Italian blood as their eye shape tended to be more tilted upwards then whites. Pavlina had arrived right on time for their appointment and somebody had shown her the room that had been set up with all the equipment necessary for a medical exam.

"I knew I was," Samira said grinning happily dancing around the room causing Pavlina to laugh in delight.

The two of them were in one of the many rooms in Dave's home and it had been outfitted with a bed and a bunch of medical equipment all within less than a week. It must've cost Dave a fortune but Samira wasn't going to ask. It was Dave's money after all and he could spend in anyway he wanted to including spoiling her and the baby. There had been workman going in and out until it was finished. They were probably going to get a lot of use out of this room now that it had been set up as she was going to get pregnant at least five more times so it wasn't just going sit here unused. She could even give birth here instead of in a hospital since there was a bed. She'd have to talk to Dave about it, see what he thought.

"While those pregnancy tests are nearly 100% accurate though there is still a 2% chance that it'll tell you you're pregnant when you're not. They're certainly better than the ones that they had centuries ago when they were first invented," Pavlina was saying.

"So how far along do you think I am," Samira asked.

"About seven weeks less a few days," Pavlina said.

"That means I got pregnant on our wedding night," Samira said with a wide smile. "That'll show those women Dave isn't about to divorce me or get him to sleep with him behind my back."

"Yes, I heard about that," Pavlina said. "If they really believe they have any chance of that happening then they don't know Dave at all."

"So?" Samira inquired pure curiosity is her tone.

"Well, if you want my advice you don't have to worry about Dave's loyalty to you. He never would have married he didn't love you completely and deeply."

"I'm not worried about that," Samira said. "When we met it was like being hit with a brick over the head. Dave told me that he felt the same the second he laid eyes on me, that connection. That echoes for me, because of my parents who felt that same sense of connection when they met. Stories of how my father thumbed his nose at his grandparents and refused to marry someone that had been chosen for him that he had met, but didn't feel that connection to were to told all their children when we were growing up."

"I knew I was going to like you," Pavlina chuckled. "Dave never would've married anyone if they didn't have many of the same traits he does, the same ethics and morals, which is why those women will never get what they want. All they're going to get it is sued for emotional aggravation and I'm sure there are other charges that can be levied if they annoy him or you to much."

"I had doubts initially as I thought he should marry someone with money and breeding, but Dave convinced me otherwise and there was also that initial emotional hit. The thought of him getting married to anyone else and having children made me want too scratch that woman's eyes out at a minimum."

"A perfectly normal reaction when you love someone as much as you love Dave," Pavlina chuckled. "I certainly love my husband so much that I would defend my man with my life. If that meant going up against some woman who was flirting with him and made inappropriate advances well they wouldn't see me coming."

"I know women are going to flirt with him whether or not he's now married. That doesn't bother me because Dave never responds to the flirting. He makes it clear he's not available and if the woman can't take the hint that's on them. It's the inappropriate advances as there have been a few times, even though we've only been married a few weeks that get my dander up. We have many social functions that we attend that often have those women I mentioned the ones that have been annoying him."

"They'll give up eventually," Pavlina said.

"I certainly hope so, because the wedding ring on Dave's finger certainly hasn't stopped them. They seem to believe it's just a marriage of convenience not a love match. I suppose we'll have to see how they take knowing that I'm pregnant. It might cause them to back off then or at least that's what Dave believes. Now I need to go tell Dave that the pregnancy test was right as he's waiting in his office for news."

"He shouldn't have doubted the test," Pavlina said amused.

"It wasn't so much he doubted the test was right, just that we wanted to know how far along I was and a pregnancy test can only tell you that you're pregnant not the length of time you have been. I'll tell Dave that it happened on our wedding night and he will be very happy. This baby will be spoiled rotten and he won't care what sex it is."

"That sounds like Dave," Pavlina said smiling softly. She looked around at all the medical equipment that Dave had acquired in a few days she had everything she could possibly need to help her friend's wife through her pregnancy. She knew her friend had a lot of power and to have a room in his home outfitted so quickly that just went to show you what could be accomplished with the right connections and enough money.

"I hope I can have all my appointments with you Pavlina. I like you a lot and I can't say the same for every doctor I've been to in my life," Samira said.

"Some doctors never should've gone into the profession, especially not that of a baby doctor. You need a good bedside manner when you work with the public and a lot of doctors don't have that. They are arrogant and full of themselves. They got into the profession for the money not because they care about their patients as people. I'll be happy to give you a check up every few weeks right here since Dave set up this lovely room with everything I'll need," Pavlina said.

"I would like to give birth here," Samira saidm as she glanced around the suite. "I don't want to be stuck in a hospital for days after I gave birth or deal with arrogant doctors who are very brusque, bordering on rude."

"Well, I do have my own private practice with hospital privileges when necessary."

"Hospital privileges?" Samira asked has she had never heard the term.

"It simply means that I'm allowed to install patients into the hospital when necessary and operate on them to remove the baby from their womb. While most women give birth naturally sometimes there are problems. I simply don't have the facilities for an operation at my practice. Of course, most of the time if I suspect there is going to be a problem I insist that they check into the hospital and I'll check up on them, but the unexpected does happen. I don't expect that with you by the way. I'm just telling you sometimes there are problems."

"Like if you know a woman is going to have multiples you probably insist they check into the hospital when they're close to going into labor," Samira

"I usually just do a C-section as that's what most women want instead of trying to give birth naturally," Pavlina said. "Yes, I do insist that they check into the hospital and I call ahead so that a operating room can be prepared. They might have to spend a few days in the hospital but that's better than losing your life and that of your children."

"Definitely," Samira agreed empathically.

Samira showed Pavlina out and made an appointment with her for a month from now.

"If you have any problems in the meantime or any questions just let me know," Pavlina said. "Tell Dave I said congratulations on becoming father in a few months."

"I will," Samira said smiling.

~~~Dave and Samira~~~
"So you got pregnant on our wedding night just as you figured," Dave grinned happily.
"Well, I haven't been throwing up, but I figure that's because of the immortality," Samira shrugged. "The only reason I tried that pregnancy test was because we've been going at it like a pair of rabbits. I had no idea how fertile I was, but I apparently take after my mother in that department. I know some women take a year or two to get pregnant, but that's not the case for me."
"You'll just have to use birth control whenever you don't want to get pregnant." Dave realized.
"I'm just glad there is a solution," Samira offered. "I don't want to be pregnant constantly."
"Yeah, I understand your feelings, even though I am a man," Dave said with a smile and a kiss on his wife's cheek.
"I'm actually surprised birth control works considering I'm immortal now," Samira said.
"You're still basically human though," Dave smiled at Samira. "You're not an alien or a different species. We have the same circulatory system as humans because we basically are human, with a few difference."
"I just thought that a immortal's seed would bypass birth control," Samira shrugged. "You have to remember I'm still learning all about immortals and the differences from regular humans."
"I understand," Dave said and it was clear from his expression that he did.
"I'm looking forward to this child being born," Samira said.
"You know I am too," Dave said. "I think we should celebrate becoming parents."
"What did you have in mind?" Samira asked. "I don't think we should announce it at least not yet. Let's take some time to absorb it.
"Sounds like a fine idea," Dave said grinning from ear to ear at the thought of their child. "In a few weeks we can announce it before you start showing."
"That'll put stick up those woman's butts," Samira snicked.
"That's rather unkind," Dave told Samira, though he smiled when he said it showing he wasn't upset.
"I could say a lot worse things," Samira told Dave with a saucy wink. "I think I have every right to be annoyed considering that they make inappropriate advances right in front of me. Pavlina was telling me that she would defend her man if some woman made inappropriate advances towards him. I think making a few comments is mild compared to what I could do. I could easily punch one of those women in her made a face and start an incident."
"If you did that they probably try suing you," Dave chuckled now. "Try being the important word here."
"You would counter sue them for making inappropriate advances on you," Samira said smiling at Dave.
"Yes, I would," Dave said firmly. "Considering that most people know I'm married and even if they didn't I wear a wedding ring that means I'm off the market to anyone except my wife. As my wife you have every right to defend your territory and if the woman who takes liberties doesn't back off when she should then that's on her. The lady in question, will only get herself into legal trouble if she tries to sue you for protecting me."
"So many men accept advances from a beautiful woman whether or not they're married," Samira said. "I know you're not like that," she added hurriedly. "It's just that a lot of men are and those women probably think that you're just like most men. They'll soon learn otherwise."
"Yes, they will," Dave said, even as Samira sat on his lap. The two of them begin to neck and make out as they sat together. "You don't offend someone of my station and not expect consequences," Dave added once he came up for air.
"Someone with a lot of money and connections," Samira said and Dave nodded.
"Money can protect you from a lot of things including women who don't know their place," Dave said. "Crazies, lunatics, people who have some sort of scam to get you to part with some of your money and so on."
The two cuddled together looking very comfortable.
"Oh by the way, Pavlina told me to congratulate you on soon becoming a father," Samira told Dave.
"That sounds just like her," Dave chuckled. "So what did you think of her?"
"You were right I like her a lot," Samira answered honestly. "I have another appointment right here in about a month. She agreed to be my baby doctor and to do all the appointments here unless the circumstances are unusual."
"That's good," Dave said, as he kissed Samira again.
"I think so, as it stops me from sitting in a doctor's office probably for several hours every time I have an appointment. I can definitely see the benefits of having a lot of money, as it allows us to do things that ordinary people can't."
"If there's one thing I've learned in my long life is that having money brings respect from people," Dave said. "That doesn't mean you should get all high and mighty though. That you should treat people rudely, as if they're beneath you. I have found that you get better service if you're polite and accommodating. I won't say there is not times to be rude and arrogant as well, as it depends on the situation."
"If every rich person learned that lesson they get much better service at any business," said Samira.
"Yeah, a lot of people that don't care about others feelings," Dave said. "I'm not one of them unless they annoy me."
The two fell silent and Dave unconsciously rubbed Samira's belly really looking forward to his first child ever being born.
Samira sighed in contentment and laid her head against on Dave's shoulder perfectly comfortable to remain there for the time being.
