Summer was the best part of the year for me and my friends as they were now done with middle school and had a solid 2 to 2 ½ months of summer and fun before starting their freshman year of high school. Now my name is John, and I was a bit on the smaller side with black hair and green eyes, he wore glasses along with jeans and a hoodie and did not really have much muscle either. His friends were bit more well built with Mat having blonde hair and blue eyes, he was the tallest in the group and was the most confident in the group. Mat liked wearing shorts and t-shirts and was the most athletic out of the group as well but was more musically inclined. Finally, there was Jacob who was the smartest as he loved math and science which was the unpopular opinion within the group. He was a redhead and had a few pimples on his head,

"All right, school is done" I yelled in delight while holding my arms.

"Yeah, so what do you two want to do?" Mat asked.

"Hey guys want to go to the abandoned restaurant; I heard rumors it's haunted" Jacob grinned.

"That's trespassing" I pointed out.

"I did some research, and the previous owners are defunct and so no one owns it" Jacob answered.

"This is going to be a bad idea and nothing good is going to come from it" Mat sighed. So, it was agreed that after dropping everything off at my house we would go to the abandoned restaurant. The walk there was quick as it was only 20 minutes from my house, and I had some fond memories of the place. As we got there, I noticed that any signs that told people what this place was were dilapidated and were hard to read. The building itself had chipped paint and rotting wood as well as plants taking over the place. Looking through a window one could see chairs and tables, nothing was taken out of the restaurant. Overall, it looked the same as when I used to go there so not much changed and to be honest, I do not know why I loved this place to begin with. But one thing did catch my eye and it was a white box with what looked like a gaming console that I did not recognize and what looked a VR headset.

"So, we are going in?" I asked.

"OK let's go" Jacob opened the door which to my surprise was not locked and we entered and I immediate made a beeline for the console and the vr headset grabbing it so that my two friends could not grab them first. They noticed this and were shocked about what I found.

"How the hell did you find that?" Jacob asked.

"Saw it through the window" I answered.

"Damn it" Mat had crocodile tears as that stuff could have been his.

"Winner's keeper, loser weeper" I stuck my tongue out at them as I quickly claimed what was mine. The others growled at this as the image on the box seemed to indicate that there was an expensive gaming console and the fact that there was a vr headset in there as well. I quickly put the box in my backpack that I brought with me so that when this was over, I would see what this thing was all about. I was curious about why something that looked so expensive was in an abandoned restaurant.

"You know I am wondering why something like that is in a place like this. Seems to be expensive so why is it in this place?" Mat wondered.

"Who knows perhaps someone decided to visit this place before it shut down and left it here, well their loss" Jacob shrugged.

"Well, they should have put their name on it" I said.

"So, this place seems like it has seen better days" Mat said. The whole restaurant was left as it was when it closed as all the chairs and games were still in place. Plants had overtaken the parking lot and the building was starting to fall apart and rot. The opening had double doors that had led to the restaurant was cracked and the metal that outlined it was rusted. In the lobby area that was immediately in front of the doors had faded carpets with many stains on it. The paneling on the ceiling was starting to fall off and the electrical wiring to all the lights was visible in a few areas. Off to their right was a large game area that had various plushies that were still there. The plushies had various stains, rips and tears in them and the wood desk that they sat behind as cracked and warped. I noticed some holes in the ceiling that allowed rain to seep into the building when it rained.

Further behind that was a long hallway and a sign that was halfway to falling off the ceiling. On the sign was the word bathroom though mostly faded away but from the letters that remained and the faint outlines on the sign they could make out what the sign said. In the hallway was a large door that they assumed led to an arcade of sorts. In front of them was the dining area and beyond that was a stage of some kind. The chairs and tables were extremely weathered, and the floor was damaged due to time and the fact that water was getting in. The curtains for the stage were a better condition but still needed work and opening that up revealed an animatronic band. Part of me thought of FNAF when opening it up. The doors on the right side of the stage were labeled as employes only and further off to the right was the kitchen area. Honestly, I have no idea what this place is and asking my friends about it they did not know either.

This was not that surprising considering that this was a large metropolitan city with about as many stores as there were people. It just so happened to be dumb luck that my house was so damn close to this place. Looking around this place there was not anything else that jumped out at me as the rest of this place was your stereotypical abandoned restaurant. So, after spending an hour my friends and I got bored and left. There was only one thing that was on our mind and that was to try the new console and vr headset that I found.

Getting back home we immediately booked it to my bedroom and then opened the box. Inside was a large black box that had a nice sheen to it. The light that reflected off it made me aware just how good condition it was in. I did not see any logo on it indicating what company made it like how Xbox and PlayStation have their own logo on their machines. This one did not though so I had no idea who made it.

"So, what is it?" Mat asked.

"Well from what I can tell it's a gaming console and a vr headset of some kind" I answered.

"Well, not duh, who made it?" Mat rolled his eyes.

"Don't know doesn't say" I replied.

"Give me that" Mat yanked the box from me and began reading it trying to discern who the manufacturer was.

"You're right it doesn't say, well open it and plug it in" Mat practically ordered.

"All right all right no need to be pushy" I said. I opened the box and the machine looked exactly like it did in the box. The machine itself was a large box with curved top and a slight gleam to it. The machine was sleek in appearance and had something etched on the top of it. But since the machine was black it was hard to make out what it was. Holding the thing up, I noticed that it had some weight to it and on the front and on the front was some buttons. The buttons I could only assume were to open the hatch that I noticed on the top of this thing to enter in a CD. There were some other buttons as well, but I didn't really know what they did. So, I began looking through the box trying to find an instruction manual which I did manage to find.

"Here I found an instruction manual" I said and began reading it.

"Hello and thank you for buying the Freddy Fazbear virtual interactive entertainment system. This system will allow you to enter the virtual world and interact with your favorite fictional characters from any game or movie. Furthermore, you can participate in the game or movie of your choice. In order to do this please install the machine as depicted on page 6. Then turn on the machine, after that you must then enter the CD of any game or movie of your choice. To do this press the red button next to the power button to open the game hatch. Then enter the CD of your choice, the system will then begin downloading. When that is done put on the headset and create your avatar and have fun" That was a long read but this sounded like bull. My friends began laughing after hearing this as they clearly didn't believe any of it.

"Yeah right" Jacob wiped a tear from his eyes.

"There's no way this is real" Mat regained his composure.

"Well then let's find out" I then began installing the machine per the instruction manual. It was not that difficult to do either, so I went about installing the machine and after that was accomplished, I read the next part of the manual.

"Ok so next part is to calibrate the headset." I said to myself. The headset looked like your stereotypical vr headset. Mine was black and had the Freddy logo on it, so the calibration took a while, but it was complete. The next step was to put in a game of my choice, and I found out from the manual that I could download a game from my computer and put it into this machine.

"Ok so let's do FNAF" I said excitedly.

"You want to do FNAF?" My friends voiced their displeasure.

"Why not I found it so it's my choice" I replied.

"Ok then it's a shame that there isn't two more of those head." Mat stopped himself mid-sentence as somehow, he had found two more headsets.

"Well, I'll be damned guess there were two more of these in there" Jacob muttered.

"Well then make sure you calibrate them. Check the instruction manual" I said as I walked over to the computer. On the instruction manual was also a set of instructions on how to download my computer games into the game console. So, following the instructions I began the download.

"For the love of god this download is going to take forever" I moaned.

"Well, it's starting to get late so how about we come over tomorrow then" Mat suggested.

"Sounds good" Jacob agreed.

"Guess it's settled then" I shrugged as I was getting tired. So, with that decided my friends left and I went to bed while the download happened.

Inside the game

"Something was wrong" Freddy thought to himself as something happened to them and the pizzeria. They no longer felt the control of their programming and for the first time in forever they were free. They had free will and could do what they want, but it felt strange.

"Freddy something happened" Chica screeched.

"I know Chica, but what has happened. The games programming no longer controls us and we can finally move on our own." Freddy looked down at his own hands and moved them, it was a strange feeling for sure. They were no longer still images teleporting across the map, they were free.

"Cap'n take a look outside" Foxy said. The trio then walked towards the front of the pizzeria. Looking through the window they saw a town and upon further inspection they found that they could freely leave the pizzeria. This was strange to say the least but then the trio then thought of something else. If they are no longer bound by the programming of the game then what about the player. Their owner, did something happen to him/her and to what extent.

"Freddy what about our owner, what if something happened to him or her" Chica seemed worried.

"Chica there is no way to know so calm down" Freddy replied.

"How do we know that when we don't even know what he or she looks like" Bonnie pointed out.

"I 'ave an idea what if we checked the code?" Foxy suggested.

"I mean that's not a bad idea but how do we even check that in the first place?" Bonnie asked.

"Good question how about if we ask Goldie?" Freddy offered.

"Good idea if anyone would know it would them" Chica said. So, walking to the kitchen Freddy knocked on the door.

"Goldie, we need to speak to you" Freddy knocked on the door.

"What do you Freddy?" Golden Freddy asked.

"Do you know what happened and do you know our owner's name and identity?" Freddy asked.

"I can find out, it's not hard but give me one good reason why I should?" Golden Freddy seemed defiant for some reason.

"Because we want to know" Chica answered.

"Yeah what's wrong with that?" Bonnie asked.

"Fine" Golden Freddy then disappeared leaving the others to themselves.

Back in the real world

John woke up unaware of what was occurring in the machine that he just installed. Soon enough he would was going to go on a very interesting adventure.
