Everything was dark.

He had failed.

Things were not supposed to become like this. All his training, his friendship with Kurama and all other Tailed Beasts, all the efforts of himself and the whole Shinobi Alliance, they were supposed to succeed, they were meant to go on, to defeat the mad Uchiha duo and to stop the Juubi from destroying the world!

But yet, despite all those things, they still lost.

Madara Uchiha had won. All of their efforts were wasted. All his friends, all who cared for him were murdered by the wicked power of that revived bastard. And Madara was only short of one more thing to complete the Juubi again and become what he had deceived the poor Obito for a very long time in order to achieve – a god.

Yes, Kurama was still inside Naruto. But not for long. Soon, his newest friend would be ripped off from his body and become a part of that monster Shinju again.

Everything of the few last hours flashed through his mind.

He remembered Kakashi's Sharingan being ripped off his left eye socket as he fell and died under Madara's sword. He remembered the souls of the four revived Hokage being pulled away by the shadow clones with Rinnegan. He remembered Hinata and Sakura being impaled by an incredibly sharp root when trying to pull him out of the roots that were restraining him and sucking away his chakra. He remembered Sasuke's head being chopped off with his own blade not five minutes ago.

Everyone… they sacrificed their lives to protect him, to allow him the chance to destroy Madara once and for all… And he failed them.

He closed his eyes. Maybe if he had just given up from the beginning… this wouldn't have happened…

"So you decided to just give up like that? It's not like you, Naruto."

He opened his eyes again. He was in his mindscape, and Kurama was standing before him, looking down at him. Normally, he would have made a loud declaration of how Uzumaki Naruto never gives up, but right now, it was not important anymore. Nothing was important anymore.

"Why shouldn't I give up? Everyone is gone, Madara has captured all of you. We lost." Naruto sighed heavily, all his energy seemed to be drained.

He was flicked in the forehead by one of Kurama's tails.

"Idiot. We haven't lost yet. Everyone out there is still fighting. Everyone sacrificed their lives because they believe that you shall be able to defeat Madara, not for you to sulk and give up like this. If you, Naruto, of all people, lose hope, there is nothing we can do anymore. And... I may know a way to fix this…"

"What do you mean 'fix'?"

"We could go back to before any of this ever happened, we could change it."

Narutopaused, his mind registering the new information.

His eyes widened as he asked, "What do you mean?"

"It was Hagoromo jiji, he gave me this power right before he died. I think he predicted that this disaster would someday occur, and he gave me this power as a backup, just in case."

Naruto had yet to digest what this meant, a dumbfounded look on his face, "What do we have to do?"

"I'll need you to make my sign on your arm in your blood, then come back here quickly. The effect of the power will create a vortex through space and time, turning back the clock, and giving us a chance to stop all this from happening."

"A chance to save everyone….." Naruto muttered as his blue eyes widened with his trademark gleam.

With a shout, Naruto mustered up the last of his energy and pushed himself out of his mindscape before marking himself with the sign of the Kyuubi no Kitsune in his own blood. The sign was ironically the kanji for nine. Naruto had been getting better with his calligraphy since he started sealing. So he made the symbol on the inside of his forearm as quickly as possible and pushed himself back to the mindscape where Kurama was waiting.

"Hurry Naruto I need you to come into the seal."

Naruto stepped in the cage of the fourth's seal without a second thought.

"A chance to fix my mistakes huh?" Naruto chuckled. "Whadya say partner?" He said as he raised his fist, "Will you tolerate another lifetime with me and help me fix this?"

Kurama smirked and returned the fist bump. "Do you even have to ask? Lets go, Naruto!"

Naruto grinned, "This time. This time I'll save everyone! Whatever it takes!"

Kurama then wrapped his tails around Naruto, thinking of when he was taking them.

'Heh the brat didn't say when he would like to go so I guess it's my choice. I think I'll give him a 'surprise'.

So his chakra grew around them impossibly fast and powerful, there was so much of the thick red chakra it almost looked black, then it was like something broke and the chakra, along with Naruto and Kurama inside exploded... then everything went black.
