2007

The Doctor didn't like hospitals. It was ironic, but there was something about the cold, clinical buildings that made him uncomfortable. Especially after his last adventure with Rose to New Earth, which had only ended as it did due to luck and quick thinking. He had to keep himself on high alert, always ready for the next threat—

"Wonders, you told me I'd see. Things I couldn't even imagine. And here we've been stuck in a hospital for two days" Rose complained, popping one of the grapes she had bought for him into her mouth.

He gave his blonde companion a grin, knowing despite her complaining that she was glad to have been on her home planet again, even if it was for just a few days. What the Doctor wouldn't give to have just a few more days on Gallifrey...

"We've arrived a year into your future, Rose. Who knows what we might see?" The Doctor insisted, as Rose pouted.

"Well, the hospital food certainly hasn't got any better" Rose pointed out, looking at what she assumed was a cheese sandwich on the Doctor's table.

"We'll only be here for another day or two. Three days tops...maybe four—" The Doctor began, but Rose cut him off with a groan.

"If there was really someone in this hospital who needed help, wouldn't we have found them by now?" Rose exclaimed, as the Doctor's brow furrowed.

He knew she was right to some degree. The TARDIS had picked up a distress signal coming from inside the hospital, one that seemed to have been transmitting for some time now. His sonic screwdriver could pick up an abnormal life sign, but it was unable to pinpoint the being. Why would someone set off a distress signal and then make it impossible to find them?

"What aren't you telling me, Doctor?" Rose asked, her big brown eyes boring into his.

"...The distress signal is broadcasting in lots of different languages. Dozens...and one of them is Gallifreyan" The Doctor admitted, as Rose's mouth went slack.

"You think one of your people...?" Rose trailed off, not sure if she wanted to finish the question.

"No. No, I would have sensed if there was another Time Lord on this planet. This is something different" The Doctor told her, shaking his head.

"So, any ideas on who it is?" Rose questioned, as she slowly surveyed the ward, her eyes darting from patient to patient.

"Not a clue" The Doctor shrugged, appearing far too carefree.

Rose knew the Time Lord well enough now to know when he was putting on an act. There was still more he wasn't telling her, she was sure of it. She was just reaching out to touch his hand when a middle-aged nurse stormed over to them, clutching at a clipboard in her arms.

"Visting hours finished ten minutes ago" The woman snapped.

"I'll be gone in a second" Rose replied, as the nurse quirked an eyebrow.

"That wasn't a request" She insisted, her lips drawn in a fine line.

"Alright, alright. I'm going" Rose huffed, grabbing her coat.

"Be careful. Don't go looking on your own" The Doctor warned, as Rose held her hands up in mock defence.

"Anyone else want to tell me what to do?" Rose complained, as a grin spread over the Doctor's lips.

"See ya'" Rose mumbled, as the nurse ushered her away from the bed space, causing the Doctor's forehead to wrinkle.

He slowly pulled his sonic screwdriver out of his hospital pyjamas and took a quick scan of the nurse, finding nothing strange showed up. She was human. Just as everyone else seemed to be. With a sigh, the Doctor leaned back against his uncomfortable pillow, feeling eyes on him. He slowly turned to see the patient next to him all but staring into his soul, a vacant expression on his face. Suddenly, the Doctor remembered why he hated hospitals so much. Too many people beyond help.

"Don't worry, he does that with everyone" A new voice exclaimed, as the Doctor's head snapped up to find a nurse approaching his bed.

Her long brunette hair was pulled up into a ponytail, coming loose after a long shift, mascara smudging around the edges of her eyes. She had strong features, dark blue eyes, with just a hint of green mixed in. The Doctor's gaze was pulled to the long cut that covered her left cheek; the scar was white but still showing despite the makeup on her face. She had a smile on her lips, one which the Doctor noted didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Ah, and here I thought I was just special" The Doctor murmured, earning a snort from the nurse.

"You better hope you're not, or he'll show you his fingerpainting" The nurse stated.

"Fingerpainting?" The Doctor frowned, turning back to the patient who had stuck his hands into his cottage pie and was using the food to draw on his table.

"The joys of working in the NHS" The nurse stated, as she walked over to the patient, grabbing a nearby napkin and started cleaning his fingers.

"David, use your spoon" The nurse insisted, giving the patient the cutlery to hold.

The patient looked at the spoon with confusion for a few moments, before reaching up to bop her on the nose with the spoon. The Doctor had noticed how all the nurses had seemed to avoid the patient, especially at mealtimes. All except the nurse in front of him, who snorted in amusement at the patient's antics.

"Now, David, the thing is, I can't have my dinner until you've had yours. And I'm getting real hungry. Do you think you could do me a favour and at least have some of your pudding?" The nurse went on, grabbing the ice cream on his tray, as he nodded.

"Where's my mum? She's usually here by now" The man stated, as the nurse gave him a sad smile, noting the man had to be almost seventy himself.

"She's just running a bit late tonight. Come on, eat now. She'll be happy to see you've eaten" The nurse said, as the man picked up his spoon and began to eat the ice cream, somewhat reluctantly.

The nurse then turned back to the Doctor, scanning through his bedside notes, frowning when she came across the second page. The Doctor was a little taken aback when she came to sit on the foot of the bed, raising an eyebrow at him.

"You've been here two days and you haven't let us take any bloods?" The nurse asked, as the Doctor shrugged.

"I've got a thing about needles" He lied, as her eyes narrowed.

"What, scared?" She said, in a teasing tone.

"Well, I have heard about some strange going Ons in this ward. You seen anything weird?" The Doctor inquired.

The nurse then looked around the ward, as if checking to see if anyone was watching them and leaned in closer. A moment later, she raised a finger to poke him in the chest, an unimpressed look on her features.

"Apart from my patient clearly trying to hide his identity?" The nurse suggested, as it was the Doctor's turn to frown.

"Excuse me?" He replied.

"C'mon, John Smith? Seriously? What's your real name?" She pushed, curiously.

"The Doctor" He answered, as the nurse burst into laughter.

"Well, that's a new one. You know, you're a little strange" The nurse scoffed.

"So, are you, Nurse..." The Doctor trailed off, reaching out to touch her name band, running his finger over the writing.

"Katy. Lovely name. I thought about being a Katy once. Not sure if it suited me" The Doctor ranted, grinning from ear to ear.

His smile faltered when Katy reached out to touch his cheek, his cold fingertips causing him to go still. They sat there for a few moments, blue eyes boring into brown, until Katy pulled out her pen torch and began shining it into his eyes. The Doctor blinked a few times, still hyperaware of his hand against his cheek.

"Well, your pupils are equal and reactive. So, it doesn't seem like you're having a stroke. Guess your weirdness must be due to another reason" Katy murmured, as the Doctor let out an amused sound.

"Oh, people have been trying to figure me out for years. No one's ever got close" The Doctor told her.

"Well, I do like a challenge" Katy smirked, grabbing the stethoscope that had been around her neck.

"If you're not gonna' let me take your blood, at least let me listen to your chest. I really don't feel like putting out a crash call tonight" Katy insisted.

"Isn't that more of a doctor's job?" He pointed out, making her snort.

"Most of the junior doctors here can't tell their ass from their elbows. You're in much safer hands with me" Katy stated, as she placed the stethoscope in her ears, and pressed the diaphragm to his chest.

The Doctor watched with amusement as confusion grew on her face, clearly able to hear the twin beats of his hearts. She pressed the diaphragm of the stethoscope to the other side of his chest, eyes growing wider. Katy pulled the stethoscope away from her ears, before pushing up from the bed, seeming to have made a decision.

"I think I just figured out what you need Doctor..." Katy trailed off, reaching for something behind his hospital bed.

"What's that?" The Doctor questioned, noticing the change in her behaviour.

Instead of a reply, an oxygen mask was suddenly placed over his face, as the Doctor felt a gas pour into his lungs. It certainly wasn't oxygen. He raised his hands up to try pushing the nurse away, but the effects of the gas had already taken effect, his arms feeling weak and numb. Katy easily brushed his hands away, as the Doctor's vision blurred, feeling Katy help lower his head onto the pillow when everything went black.

The Doctor was groggy when he awoke, feeling his body sway from side to side, as his eyes slowly fluttered open. He found he was no longer in his hospital bed, and instead was being pushed down a dark corridor in a wheelchair. He let out a groan, hands reaching for the mask still on his face, but a voice tutted him, slapping his hands away.

"Don't worry, we're almost there" Katy told him, as the Doctor noticed the sign above them, pointing in the direction she was wheeling him.

The Mortuary. How did he always manage to get himself into these situations?

"Oh...Katy. What are you doing here?" A new voice asked, as the Doctor felt them come to a sudden halt.

He looked up to see another nurse standing in the corridor, a box in her hands, frowning at the pair. The Doctor could only imagine how he looked, slumped to one side, barely conscious.

"Uh, I was just...taking this patient to get some fresh air" Katy exclaimed, as the other nurse nodded.

"Isn't the exit that way?" The nurse pointed out, as Katy pursed her lips.

"...Is it? Silly me. No sense of direction" Katy murmured, face-palming.

The Doctor tried to speak up, his words muffled by the mask, as the other nurses' eyes narrowed.

"Sorry, sir, what was that?" She questioned.

"Hel—" The Doctor's words were cut off, as Katy slammed her hands down on his shoulders.

"Hello to you too, Mr Smith. He's so friendly, isn't he?" Katy smiled, a little too sweetly.

"Oh, Sister Helen was asking for you, by the way. Sounded really pissed" Katy warned, as the nurse let out a groan.

"When isn't she?" The nurse muttered, trudging past the pair, as Katy let out a sigh of relief.

"Yep. Good, good. Bye" Katy exclaimed, picking up the Doctor's hand to wave at her, before pushing his wheelchair quicker down the corridor.

"You really need to work on your acting skills, buddy" Katy scolded, as the Doctor forced a scoff from his lips.

His hearts beat quicker as they made it to the mortuary doors when he was suddenly pulled to the right and pushed through a different door, wondering what horrors would await in the...linen cupboard?

"No one ever comes down here. And I thought we could use a little privacy" Katy stated, before throwing a device on the floor beside his feet.

The Doctor straightened up as a field of blue light surrounded him, lifting his hand up to watch the hairs along his arm stand up. He had seen the technology before, but he didn't recognise the design of the device. If he didn't know any better, he'd say it had been built from an Earth radio.

"Where...where did you find that?" The Doctor inquired.

"I made it" Katy confessed, making the Doctor's brow furrow.

"It's a quantum forcefield. Far beyond this planet's capabilities" The Doctor suggested, as Katy gave a half-shrug.

"Not beyond mine" She replied.

"You're not from here I'm guessing" The Doctor exclaimed, as she tilted her head.

"Neither are you...Time Lord" She pointed out, the bitterness clear in her tone.

"You sent the distress signal?" The Doctor asked, as she nodded.

"Why?" The Doctor pushed, as a scowl grew on Katy's face.

"No. I've had enough of people questioning me all my life. It's time for someone to listen to me for once" Katy muttered.

"I don't seem to be in a position to argue" The Doctor stated, running a hand through his messy hair, his head still pounding.

"...Why did you answer the distress signal?" Katy pushed, a new emotion flashing over her features, one the Doctor couldn't interpret.

"I wanted to help—" The Doctor started, but Katy cut him off, anger burning behind her eyes.

"Help? All you people know how to do is destroy. Anything that doesn't fit in with your precious morals" Katy snarled.

"You've met my people before then?" The Doctor frowned.

"Don't play games with me. You know who I am...So, how do you plan to do it?" Katy questioned.

"Do what?" The Doctor asked, his brows knitted together.

"Kill me" Katy answered, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"What?!" The Doctor gaped, completely dumbfounded.

He noticed the way she flinched at his raised voice; her shoulders hunched as if she expected him to attack her at any moment. She was scared. Of him.

"I'm not here to hurt anyone. I just want to help" The Doctor told her, in a softer tone.

"You expect me to believe that? Maybe I should just kill you now. Before you kill me" Katy murmured.

"Is that why you sent out the distress signal? A trap for someone like me?" The Doctor suggested, as Katy's jaw clenched.

"I didn't want to be alone anymore" She admitted, as sympathy flashed over the Doctor's face.

He could understand what she meant better than anyone. It had taken him a while, but he had finally realised her real motivations. She was acting out of fear. She might not have been human, but she had fallen prey to the most human instinct.

"You know, for someone so smart, you really do seem to be missing the obvious" The Doctor stated.

"And what's that?" She replied, quirking an eyebrow.

"I don't travel alone" The Doctor exclaimed, his eyes flickering to something behind Katy.

A second later, something heavy struck her in the back of the head, causing her to stumble forward. She let out a cry, clutching at the back of her sore head, whipping around to find a blonde woman standing there, a fire extinguisher in hand, a sheepish expression on her face.

"Ow! What was that for?" Katy complained, as the blonde cringed.

"Uh, I was trying to knock you out" The blonde mumbled, still holding the extinguisher in the air.

"Well, it's gonna' take a lot more than...than that to..." Katy stuttered, before suddenly falling forward, passing out before she even hit the floor.

Katy woke with a start, eyes snapping open, hands balled into fists, instantly expecting a fight. Instead, she was met with the back of the Doctor and his friend, both seeming to barely notice her presence. They didn't appear afraid of an attack at all. She looked down to see she was lying on a worn down, yellow seat, the top taped together with duct tape. A soft hum had her looking around the room, as she slowly realised where she was, her mouth going slack.

It was a TARDIS. A real, living TARDIS.

Her eyes trailed over the room in awe, from the golden-brown dome walls to the strange coral beams that rose to the ceiling. In the middle, was the hexagonal console which exhumed a glowing green light, dimming and growing as if it were breathing. Which it was, Katy had to remind herself. She pushed herself onto her feet, as a blue light surrounded her, causing her to flinch as the Doctor finally turned around. It was similar to her own makeshift forcefield, but this was far stronger. It could kill her in a second.

"Tribophysical waveform macro-kinetic extrapolator. Careful, wouldn't want you to singe your fingers" The Doctor stated, gesturing to the force field that surrounded her.

"You built it?" Katy inquired, impressed.

"Yep...well, sort of. Well...no, not really. But I did hook it up to the console" The Doctor replied, not looking Katy in the eye.

"Didn't Jack do that?" Rose pointed out, in a teasing tone.

"...I helped" The Doctor insisted, making his companion scoff.

"I'm Rose, by the way. Sorry about, you know, knocking you out and all" She exclaimed.

"Don't worry about it. I'll doubt I'll live long enough to get a concussion" Katy muttered, as the Doctor shook his head.

"No one is killing anyone" The Doctor repeated his earlier words, still avoiding her eyes.

He seemed to look anywhere but her, something akin to guilt gracing his features. He must have used the TARDIS to scan her, to figure out who she really was.

"So, you figured it out then?" Katy guessed.

"Yeah" The Doctor replied, in a soft tone.

"I've contacted the Judoon, sent them our location. They'll be here soon to take you into custody" The Doctor announced, as Katy let out a bitter laugh.

"To execute me you mean?" Katy pointed out, as Rose frowned.

"No. No, the Doctor said they're like intergalactic police. They'll put you on trial...right, Doctor?" Rose exclaimed, turning to him, but he now wouldn't look at her either.

"Not for someone like me. Kill on sight" Katy informed her, as Rose's eyes widened.

"Doctor?" Rose pushed, a look of horror on her face.

"Your people would be proud. Finishing what they started. Wiping away every last trace of us from the universe" Katy goaded, seeing how the Doctor gritted his teeth.

"What does she mean? Doctor?" Rose insisted, placing her hand on his arm, as he finally turned to look at her.

He ran a hand over his face, letting out a long sigh, still unable to look at Katy. He knew what he had to do, but it didn't make it any easier.

"Krillitanes. A race that could take the appearances and qualities of the people they conquered. They would cherry-pick the best bits from the races they killed. They slaughtered them in their millions. Destroyed whole planets. They had been stopped" The Doctor explained.

"Except they weren't all like that, were they, Doctor? We were made of large families, in the thousands. Over the years, we barely seemed like the same race. Some wanted to conquer and destroy...others just wanted to be left alone" Katy challenged, as the Doctor finally met her eyes.

"They crossed a line. One that couldn't be stepped back over. They attacked the Time Lords. Slaughtered four hundred, men, women, even children. They assimilated the qualities they wanted from us and moved on" The Doctor spat out, as it was Katy this time who tore her eyes away.

"And you certainly made us pay for it" Katy murmured.

"A warp star was used. And their planet was destroyed. But there were still colonies out there. Survivors" The Doctor pushed, as Katy shook her head, vehemently.

"The Time Lord's wanted to wipe us out. Not for the good of the universe, or because we were dangerous, but for revenge. You act like you're above everyone else, but you're not. You're just like the rest of us" Katy spat out, angrily.

"How did you escape?" Rose questioned.

"An off-planet teleport. It could only take one. Not exactly smooth sailing" Katy replied, pointing to the scar on her cheek.

"And you ended up on Earth?" The Doctor realised, as she nodded.

"I was only a child. But I remembered. Bits and pieces of what happened. So, I told people. I told them I wanted to go home. And they sent me to a goddamn psychiatrist. Everyone thought I was crazy. Even I started questioning if what I remembered was real...but I was smart. I could do things no one else could even imagine. I started transmitting the distress call, hoping that someone would respond. That I'd finally know for sure I wasn't insane...and here you are. My saviour and executioner" Katy went on, with tears welling in her eyes.

"I can talk to the Judoon—" The Doctor began, but Katy cut him off.

"It won't make any difference. So, why don't you just get it over with? Just...do it. Kill me" Katy insisted.

"I'm not a killer" The Doctor told her.

"You know why I look this way, don't you? You must be able to feel it" Katy suggested, as the Doctor's jaw clenched.

"Feel what?" Rose frowned, having all but been forgotten in the heated argument.

"My family...we were the ones who started the war. We killed the Time Lords, and assimilated what we wanted. That's why I look human...because they did" Katy explained, as the Doctor scrunched his eyes shut.

"C'mon, Doctor. Just finish what they started. Or are you a coward?" Katy goaded.

"You want to die" Rose realised, her tone full of pity.

"Wouldn't you? I thought...I thought I wanted the truth, that it would make things better, but it's worse. It's all just fucking worse" Katy cried, lowering her head into her hands.

"...Why did you help that man?" The Doctor asked, making Katy frown.

"What man?" Katy questioned, looking up from her hands, wiping away a tear that had rolled down her cheek.

"The patient next to me. No one had spoken to him, no one had even looked at him all day. But you did. Was it just an act? Was there any truth in it?" The Doctor insisted.

"He...he was a mess. He needed help. I wasn't just gonna' leave him like that" Katy mumbled, sniffling.

She jumped as the forcefield around her suddenly disappeared, and the Doctor came to stand in front of her. She braced herself, wondering how he was going to do it. Would he kill her with his own hands, or maybe he would have the TARIDS do it somehow? Instead...he just looked at her. His brown eyes stared into hers as if he was looking for something. Hoping for something. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, an alarm began to sound, as the screen flashed on.

"Why is there a rhino outside the TARDIS?" Rose questioned, eyes wide.

"The Judoon" The Doctor exclaimed, turning toward the TARDIS doors.

"Doctor, we can't just hand her over to them! You heard her, she was just a kid! Can't we just...just fly away?" Rose insisted, as the Doctor shook his head.

"She's the Judoon's most wanted. They won't stop chasing us" The Doctor sighed.

"It's fine. It's not like I've got anything to live for really. My family's gone, my whole planet, and everything here has just been a lie..." Katy trailed off, as the Doctor's brows knitted together.

"Stay in the TARDIS. I'll go speak to our friend" The Doctor announced, as he walked over to the doors.

"If you try to get in the way of a Judoon and its target, it'll kill you!" Katy called after him, as the Doctor reached the doors, turning back to her with a grin.

"Today's as good a day to die as any" The Doctor stated, before pulling the doors open and walking through, as Rose raced after him.

"No, no, what have you..." Rose gaped, hearing a lock click on the other side, realising the Doctor had locked them inside.

"Doctor!" Rose cried, slamming her hands on the TARDIS doors.

"We have to do something" Rose all but begged, turning to Katy, who was slowly approaching the console.

"Can you hear that?" Katy frowned, reaching out with her hand to touch the time rotor, which grew brighter as her fingers touched the column.

The TARDIS made a humming noise, almost seeming to communicate with Katy in a way that Rose couldn't understand. She jumped back in fright as she watched Katy's hand begin to glow, remembering how the Doctor's body had burnt with the same bright light before he regenerated. She watched as the light shoot up from the veins in Katy's hands, trailing up her arms, as her eyes shot open, her pupils shining a bright golden colour. Suddenly, she was stumbling backwards, and would have fallen to the ground if Rose hadn't reached out to grab her arm.

"Hey, what happened? Are you okay?" Rose panicked, as Katy's eyes slowly fluttered open, back to their usual blue colour.

"I can...I can feel it..." Katy cried, clutching at her stomach, her face contorted in pain.

"Feel what? What did you do?" Rose asked.

"I assimilated part of the TARDIS...the vortex energy" Katy groaned, her nerves feeling as if they were on fire.

"No one's supposed to do that" Rose gulped, remembering the Doctor's warning all too well.

"No one human" Katy muttered, putting one foot in front of the other, and stumbling toward the TARDIS doors.

She opened the doors to find they were still on Earth, at the back of an estate block by the looks of it. It was then she realised something, as she touched her face, eyes growing wide. There was no wind. No sound. Everything had just...stopped.

She staggered forward, spotting the Doctor a few metres in front, a group of five Judoon glaring at him, their guns in hand. Her jaw dropped open as she saw sparks of red energy hanging in the air, realising the Judoon had shot their weapons. The energy continued fizzing in the air, growing ever closer to the Doctor, who had closed his eyes, seeming to have accepted his fate. Clenching her jaw, Katy grabbed his arm and threw him to the ground, as he began to fall in slow motion. She then looked back up at the Judoon, knowing what she needed to do. She didn't have a choice, right?

The Doctor blinked, expecting to feel his body burning in pain a second later, but the agony never came. Nothing did. He dared to open one eye, and instantly wished he hadn't. In front of him were the five Judoon, motionless on the floor, green blood pooling out of their bodies. Dead. And Katy standing over them, a cold expression on her face.

"You're welcome" She muttered, as the Doctor's rage burnt behind his eyes, pushing himself to his feet.

"Why did you do that? You didn't have to kill them! There's another way, there's always another way!" The Doctor exclaimed, storming over to her.

"Not for people like me" She retorted, as the Doctor loomed over her, breathing heavily.

Katy then crouched down to the ground, and picked up one of the Judoon's guns, watching how the Doctor went still. He seemed surprised as she held the weapon out to him, raising an eyebrow.

"Do it" She insisted, as the Doctor reluctantly picked up the gun from her palm.

"...No" The Doctor replied, throwing the gun to the ground, with a look of disgust.

"What, you're just gonna' let me go?" Katy frowned, as the Doctor shook his head.

"You should have never come here, but you did. Because of my people. That makes you my responsibility" The Doctor explained.

"So, I become your prisoner?" Katy asked.

"That's up to you. If you can change" The Doctor suggested, as Katy pursed her lips.

"Your people destroyed my life. You're my enemy. I could kill you" Katy pushed.

"I told you. There's another way. Not to mention, I have an insurance policy" The Doctor informed her, gesturing to her hand.

Her forehead wrinkled as she saw something blink red inside her palm, letting out a bitter scoff as she realised what it was. It seemed the Doctor was smarter than she gave him credit for.

"While you were passed out, I put a nano-bomb into your hand. Just in case you get any ideas" The Doctor warned.

"So, now what?" Katy huffed.

"Back to the TARDIS. And I lay down some ground rules" The Doctor exclaimed, as Katy rolled her eyes.

"I think I'd prefer you to just kill me" She muttered, storming back toward the blue box.

She tried to hide the panic that was coursing through her veins, wondering how long it would take the Time Lord to get bored of their arrangement. Or maybe it was all a trick to lull her into a false sense of security. Her heart beat faster as she pushed through the wooden doors, when her vision suddenly went black, her knees giving out from under her. Katy's head felt like it was on fire, pain racking through her body when suddenly a hand was touching her shoulder, helping to steady her. She looked up to find piercing green eyes staring down at her, paired with a friendly smile, feeling a stab of recognition. He wasn't much older than she was, his black floppy hair combed to one side, dressed in a tweed jacket. And a bowtie.

"Blimey, that looked like a rough one. Are you alright?" The man still clutching her arm, questioned.

Katy opened her mouth to reply, planning to shove the man away from her when she realised why she seemed to recognise him. It was his eyes. They were far too old for the rest of his face. Just like...

"Doctor?" She gaped, as the man's smile grew wider.

"See, Pond. I told you, she's fine" The Doctor exclaimed, turning around to a ginger woman, as he slung his arm over Katy's shoulder.

"I still find it creepy how she pops up out of nowhere" The ginger girl mumbled, crossing her arms.

"Well, I doubt shifting from an infinite number of timelines is exactly fun for her either" The Doctor huffed, feeling how Katy went still against him.

"How...how early days is it for you?" He frowned, slowly pulling his arm away from her, seeing how her eyes grew wider.

"What the fuck is going on?" Katy cried, as the Doctor cringed.

"Right. Things are about to get a bit complicated" He told her, with a lopsided smile.
