Chapter 16: Danny Phantom Revenge Squad

Danielle slept in her bed. Hours since spending time with Sophie and Carly, she had all but forgotten that she and Danny had plans today.

She recalled the night she first had this guest bedroom, the one her former father used, which has now become her own.

Flashback

After that hug from Maddie, Danielle was now in the living room with all four Fentons.

This is it. I hope that they won't get rid of me. She thought in fear.

"Tell me, where have you been staying?" Maddie asks.

"Well…usually in alleys, dumpsters, stranger's attics when they have no idea I'm there. Recently, I've been staying in that abandoned fish cannery 40 miles away. It's not the comfiest place but at least it's safe from… most of the weather." Danielle admitted.

"Anyone else live there?" Maddie asks.

"Some rats… centipedes… a few flies… nothing bipedal." Danielle admitted.

There was a silence as Danny and Jazz noticed a small smile on their mother's face.

"I see… well then… Why don't you… come live with us here from now on?" Maddie asks as she gestures to the house.

Danielle raised her head.

"Huh?"

"We have plenty of room, and, despite your origins, you are family and you shouldn't have to live alone." Jack said.

"Besides, a child shouldn't live alone." Maddie said.

Both Danny and Jazz went to Danielle, both sending her earnest looks on their faces.

"You should stay with us, Danielle. You belong with us." Danny said.

"Yes! I can finally have a little sister!" Jazz said.

"But… won't people question a little girl who looks like your son living with you now?" Danielle asks.

"It's cool. Tucker can help us go through the paperwork… before he's kicked out of office." Danny said with a slight tired look.

"What'd he do this time? Try to make it legal for him to marry college girls?" Jazz asks disdainfully.

"No… he accidentally dropped a baby during a press conference. The baby is fine… but his approval rating dropped faster than an anvil in water." Danny said.

"Ignoring that he shouldn't have been voted in…" Maddie said before looking at Danielle. "What do you say?"

Danielle bashfully looked away.

"So… Mr. and Mrs. Fenton…?" She asks, trying to be formal.

"Come on… don't speak like that." Maddie went with an encouraging look. "I want us to live as a family…"

Danielle looked up, seeing no hint of hostility or trickery, making her feel more at ease.

"Okay… I'll live here… with you… M-Mom…" Danielle said, getting teary eyed now.

"In that case, let's celebrate and get this girl a welcome home party!" Jack went.

"Alright! Who's in?!" Maddie went as she and Jack raised their fists into the air.

"I am!" Jazz went excitedly as she too raised her fist.

"Me too!" Danny went with enthusiasm as he also raised his fist.

Not wanting to be left out, Danielle slowly raised her own.

"Me three…" She said weakly.

Flashback Over

Danielle smiled happily to herself as she drifted to sleep.

As she did, she did not see Danny leaving out of his window to go see someone.

Elsewhere

Amity Park's observatory. One of Danny's favorite places. Tonight, there were two special guests.

"So, what's the excuse you gave?" Ember asks as she sat atop the observatory with Danny.

"No excuse. Everyone is sound asleep." Danny said.

"Ah, we're a secret, forbidden relationship, eh?" Ember asks with an eyebrow raised.

"Don't say it like that…" Danny said in disapproval.

Ember laughed off his concerns, causing Danny to sigh and shake his head.

I gotta remember that, no matter how hot I realize she is, she's still evil. Well, less evil than I expected, but still… evil. He thought.

"So… this is what you like to do when you're not dealing with us? Look up at the stars?" Ember asks.

"Yup." Danny said.

"Y'know, if you want to see any stars, or in other words, heavenly bodies, you could've come looking for me." Ember pointed out jokingly.

"Well… they never tried to take over the world, make all the adults their slaves or help two ghost gals make all the town's men disappear." Danny pointed out.

"Touché." Ember said.

"I knew you'd see it that way." Danny said.

"Still, you can't make out with them either..." Ember pointed out.

"Touché." Danny admitted, earning a laugh from her.

''So...should we?" Ember asked.

"I don't see why not." Danny said as he noticed how close she was now.

Ember sent him an intrigued smile, making him blush a bit.

"Someone's taking advantage of this..." She said in a hot voice.

"Heh… you'd think that..." Danny said, avoiding eye contact with her.

Ember found this shy response adorable.

Huh...if I knew Dipstick could be this cute and easily flustered, I might have made a move sooner... She thought, deciding to kick this up a notch.

Ember placed her hand on Danny's as they resumed watching the skies together, seeing a falling star.

2 Hours Later

Ember had entered the portal to the Ghost Zone, yawning loudly as she stretched her arms upward.

"Well… time to hit the sack." She said as she headed to her realm.

As she flew, she looked back to the portal, smiling slightly.

I gotta say...I still wanna make him my king one day...still, those dorky but cute bits from him might not be as cute then though if he's evil What to do? What to do? She thought, wondering if she should actually go along with turning him to her side as her king.

Her thoughts distracted her from noticing a certain chest she hit with her face, causing her to brake.

"Hey! What's the bi-YOU!" Ember shouted.

"We need to talk." Skulker said, arms crossed.

Ember scoffed before looking away.

"I told you, it's over!" Ember said as she attempted to go around him, only for Skulker's arm to block her path.

"I wasn't talking about that. I've accepted your decision to think you're not up to my standards." Skulker said.

"That's not why I called things off." Ember said as she crossed her arms in irritation.

"Tell me… are you trying to seduce the Ghost Boy into turning over a new leaf? Because we both know there is nothing on Earth or in the Ghost Zone that would convince him to turn on his world." Skulker stated.

"Yeah… kind of figured that." Ember said, looking over her shoulder.

"So you already know your plan is doomed to fail? Then, in that case… join us." Skulker said as a grin formed on his face.

"Huh?" Ember asks.

"The Danny Phantom Revenge Squad will storm the human world and lay waste to Phantom once we have more than enough members. Do not forget that he is the same half-human who has defeated you time and again. Are you plotting to break his heart and destroy him when he's at his lowest point? Or have you become truly enamored with your sworn enemy?" Skulker questioned.

Ember looked back at the portal and, after taking a deep breath, nodded. She knew her plan to make him her king wasn't going to work. She's known him well enough after some time to see he's not interested in world domination.

"Fine… I'll join." She said.

"Excellent." Skulker said as his grin grew.

"Just one question…" Ember said before her tone shifted from serious to mild annoyance. "Is it too late to change the name?"

Skulker's grin was replaced with an annoyed scowl.

"Why does everyone hate my name choice?" He grumbled.

Morning

It was a Saturday. Homework was all done and chores were completed.

With that, Jack and Maddie were off to take care of Klemper and a few Ecto-puses. Meanwhile, Jazz prepares her satchel as she heads to the door.

"See you guys!" She said as she headed through the door.

Once they were gone, Danielle took a bite of her breakfast.

As she did, she looked to the table as Danny had just finished his pancakes.

I remember the first time we all ate together… She thought.

Flashback

The table had a spread of food. Potatoes, biscuits, chicken, salad, and a comically large bowl of spaghetti.

Danielle took a bite of the spaghetti, smiling at the taste.

"Wow… this tastes awesome Mr. Fe- D-Dad…" Danielle said.

"Ha! Finally! Someone appreciates my cooking!" Jack said with a grin.

"We never said we didn't, Dad. It's just that you make giant sized portions." Jazz said.

"Just because we have one more mouth to feed doesn't mean that you need to make a bowl with enough food for Godzilla." Maddie scolded him.

Jack groaned before stuffing a meatball into his mouth.

Danielle finished her plate in record time.

"More please." She said, holding her plate up.

This caught everyone by surprise. However, Maddie noticed something.

"Danielle. Your other part of your dinner is just sitting there." She said pointing to the smaller plate by her side.

Danielle had a small, apologetic smile on her face as her eyes darted away.

"Danielle?" Jazz asks.

"What's wrong?" Maddie asks.

Both of their eyes were on her as she shrugged a bit.

"M-Mom? Do I have to eat the broccoli? Broccoli doesn't taste good…" Danielle admitted.

Maddie looked at her for a long pause before smiling.

"Well… okay… you don't have to eat it… but no strawberry shortcake for dessert." Maddie said in a playful way.

Hearing that, Danielle put on a serious look as she took a bite of the green vegetable.

"Mmm…" Danielle went, pretending to like the taste.

"There you go… no need to be picky." Maddie said proudly before noticing her husband was also ignoring the broccoli. "Jack? Why are not eating that?" Her words made him flinch

"Uh… y-yeah… well… I just read that broccoli is actually not great for ghost hunters. It… uh...wrecks our aim for blasting ghosts." Jack went nervously.

"Jack… don't set a bad example for our new daughter." Maddie said in a scolding manner.

"You're right… I'll eat it…" Jack said in defeat as he took a bite, grimacing at the taste. "Why must this green menace taste like this?" He asked in displeasure.

Everyone else laughed at this, including Danielle. As dessert came, she felt a happiness she never did prior.

Is this what Vlad wanted? Family? Or, what he thought he wanted? He'd never joke with others like this, would he? He'd have ordered someone to eat their vegetables… I don't think he really understood what he wanted. She thought.

After dinner, she was being guided to her new room. Maddie opened the door for her.

"Well… come right in. Just remember to brush up before bed." She said.

Later that night, Danielle was in her new bedroom and laid in her new bed.

The moment she laid there, she smiled as she felt how soft and warm it felt.

So nice to sleep in something that isn't a dumpster… She thought, feeling satisfied.

Flashback Over

Danielle finished her breakfast and smiled happily at that thought.

"So… I got no homework today. Sam and Tucker and I are heading to the mall today. Wanna come?" Danny asks.

"Most guys wouldn't hang out with their ex-girlfriend…" Danielle commented as her phone vibrated.

As she checked it, Danny continued, not seeing her as he washed his plate.

"Yeah… Well, most guys don't take in a clone of them into their family either…" He said in a light way.

Danielle checked her phone, seeing a message from Sophie.

"We're going to hang out today. Meeting up in 20 minutes. Wanna come?" It read.

"So… I think after Sam and Tucker were gonna do some shopping for the presentation for the new sauce later today. That just leaves you and me until I have to do the presentation." Danny said.

"Really?" Danielle asks, looking up.

"Sure." He said as he turned around, Danielle put her phone away before he saw it.

"Awesome." She said.

With a nod, Danny headed to use the restroom as he didn't see Danielle start to type.

"Sorry… busy today…" She typed.

With a press of the send button, she smiled to herself.

Finally… just me and Danny… She thought.

At the Mall

Danny, Sam and Tucker were getting what they needed for their presentation later during the day.

As they walked, Sam noticed a store away that she wanted to visit. A smile on her face was present as she decided to get what she wanted from it.

"I gotta get some stuff for our thing later today…" Sam said.

"What kind of stuff?" Tucker asks.

"Just stuff…" Sam said in a vague tone before walking away.

Tucker shrugged before heading off.

"I gotta get new stuff for my PDA. Laters…" He said.

Once those two were gone, that left the two Fentons.

"So… what should we do now?" Danny asks.

"Doesn't matter to me… anything works." Danielle said.

"I see..." Her brother said, trying to think.

It was then someone spotted Danielle.

"Yo! Danielle?" The familiar voice of Sophie asks.

Danielle paused.

"Oh…" She turned around, seeing the two she had spent time with. "Sophie… Carly…"

As the two approached, Danny blinked and realized who they were.

"Oh, these two friends you made?" Danny asks.

"Uh… y-yeah…" Danielle went nervously before Sophie walked past her and introduced herself.

"Hi… I'm Sophie." She said, looking like hearts were in her eyes upon seeing Danny.

"I'm Carly…" Carly went in a more platonic manner.

''Hi. Nice to meet you two..."Danny waved.

"Likewise..." Sophie said, smiling with interest.

"Anyway, we're gonna go do something later. Wanna join us?" Carly offered.

Danielle looked unsure before she shook her head.

"Oh, it's alright, go ahead." Danny said.

"No!" Danielle went quickly before clearing her throat. "I mean… It's cool. I'll be fine…"

"Well… if you say so." Carly said, not seeing an issue.

"Yeah…" Sophie said as the two turned and walked away.

"Bye, Danielle." Carly said.

"Bye Danielle… and Danielle's brother." Sophie said with a smile before looking forward with a big smile.

"Well… it looks like someone is in love again. You like her brother." Carly said with a smile.

"Maybe I do…" Sophie said, neither confirming or denying it with a smile on her face.

Meanwhile, the Fenton siblings were still talking.

"Y'know… I got my thing at the Nasty Burger later… you wouldn't want to watch that, would you?" Danny asks.

"It's cool…" Danielle said.

Danny studied her a moment before shrugging.

"If you say so…" Danny said in an unsure tone.

As they walked away, Danielle took a silent breath.

I can see them later. Right now… it's just me and Danny… She thought.

2 Hours Later

It was Nasty Burger's reopening.

Behind the curtains of a stage that was set up for the presentations was where students were behind.

As one group went up, Danny's group were prepping.

"You guys ready?" Danny asks.

"Oh yeah…" Sam said, eyes darting to her spider backpack and what was in it.

That's when Valerie walked up to the boys, holding two small bags.

"Here…" Valerie said, bringing Danny and Tucker a burger each. "I snagged them. They're part of the new sauce.

Both of them took bites.

"Hmm… not bad…" Danny said.

Tucker, however, looked disappointed.

"Doesn't taste the same…" He said in disapproval.

"Beats eating something that'd explode if it got too hot." Danny said.

"That's a matter of opinion." Tucker said, still looking disappointed with the taste.

Meanwhile, Sam was placing something in the cow costume.

Okay… all set… She thought.

Meanwhile

In the cave of the North, an emaciated entity stood in the corner, tapping his finger impatiently.

"Any minute now… I'll find him… and I'll eat him. I'll make his final moments as painful and horrible as possible…" He snarled before a laugh with a hoarse throat.

That laughter echoed throughout the caverns, reaching a certain ghost warrior outside.

"Why does the beast laugh?" Achak questioned suspiciously.

The Nasty Burger

It was around the time for Danny's group to appear.

Danielle stood in the audience, hoping to see how Danny's presentation would go.

"Here we go… here we go." She said.

"There you are." She heard Jazz said.

Turning her head, Danielle saw her older sister approach.

"Jazz? How was your morning?" Danielle asks.

"Well… I'm still standing, that counts for something." Jazz answered her before noticing Danielle trying to see the presentations. "Need a lift?"

"No, I like to go on my tip toes and barely see anything above people butts all d- yes, that'd be great!" Danielle said with a smile.

As Jazz helped her up and getting her on her back to get a good look, someone spotted her.

"Danielle!" Sophie was heard saying.

Danielle flinched and nearly fell off, clinging to Jazz to regain her balance.

"Oops..." She said.

"Sis... too tight..." Jazz gasped out.

"Whoops. Sorry..." Danielle said as she loosened her grip to slide down. She was back on the ground and turned to her friends. "Hey, Carly and Sophie..." She greeted.

"Hey...uh...what were you two doing just now?..."Carly asked.

"My brother's doing a presentation here..." Danielle explained.

"What a co-in-kee-dink. We're here for that since my dad is a customer here. Sophie and I are going to grab a bite when it's over. Wanna join us?" Carly asked.

"I'm busy still, sorry..." Danielle politely declined.

"Oh, I see. Well, maybe next time..." Carly said in disappointment.

"It's cool…" Sophie said.

As they left, looking somewhat down, Jazz felt a bit off put about it.

"You know… I don't mind if you hang out with them. It'll be easier on my back." Jazz said.

"Thanks but… I'm good. I spent enough time with them this week." Danielle said.

"Enough time? Danielle, there's no limit to how much time you spend with friends." Jazz said.

"I said I'm fine." Danielle said quickly.

Jazz chose not to say anything else, figuring Danielle has her reasons.

"Next is the group of Danny Fenton, Valerie Gray, Samantha Manson and… Tucker Foley." Mr. Lancer said, with that last part rather reluctantly.

The crowd's booing justified his reluctance as the group readied.

Danny and Valerie were behind the curtains with Tucker in the appearance of a bottle and Sam in a large cow costume that covered her whole body.

"Here we go…" Valerie said hopefully.

"I got Tucker's name last because people are still mad at him for his changes and the baby incident… but why was my name close to his?" Sam questioned angrily.

"Guess I should get in character…" Danny said as he quickly got into the Nasty Ned costume.

''This better be worth it..." Tucker muttered.

Sam patted her costume.

"Any second now…" She said under her breath before sweat got in her face. "UGH!" She opened the cow's mouth to let air reach her face. "I'm soaking in here!"

"I thought goths don't sweat, they simmer." Tucker pointed out mockingly.

"Okay! I get it! All people biologically sweat, okay?!" Sam snapped.

"Shh… it's time." Danny said as Sam closed the costume's mouth reluctantly before they walked onto the stage.

This will all be worth it… or it better be... Sam thought as they took their places.

Soon, it was time to give the presentation.

Valerie spoke first. She walked to the stage in her costume and a microphone in her hand.

"Thank you all for coming. I'm Valerie Gray, I work here at Nasty Burger. This is the project that we started together..." Val said as Danny and Tucker both walked on stage while in costume.

"Hi everybody! I'm Nasty Ned!" Danny as Nasty Ned said with a wave while the audience watched.

As the presentation went on, Danielle snickered.

"I keep forgetting your school can't exactly afford to go to the same spots for costumes as Peter Jackson…" Danielle joked.

"Don't be too quick to mock, this'll be your school soon enough… considering there aren't many other schools in the area." Jazz said with a smile.

''Oh right. Darn it..." Danielle muttered.

Both of them went back to watching the presentation, where Sam as the cow walked on stage.

"Now, to show how the cow and the sauce work well together, the cow will welcome with a hug." Valerie said.

Before the cow and bottle could hug, the cow pulled back.

"Not so fast!" Sam said as she pressed the cow's stomach for a pocket.

"Wait, what are you doing?!" Valerie questioned as the goth girl took center stage.

"THIS IS WHAT THE MAN IS PUTTING INNOCENT COWS THROUGH!" Sam yelled as she found what she was looking for.

"Wait...what is this? We didn't rehearse this." Danny said as Sam pulled out some sort of remote that she pressed.

"This is what we should be talking about!" Sam went.

Just then, Sam's costume exploded and what looked like blood and guts burst out of it like a scene out of a gory horror movie.

The entire crowd made sounds of gasps, gagging and screaming.

"Sam! What are you doing?!" Danny shouted.

"THIS is what happens to the cows that get turned into your food! These animals deserve to live free, not be your meal!"

"Amen, sister!" Someone from the crowd very far said, raising his arm.

"Chris! Be quiet!" His mother said as she pulled him away.

''KILLING INNOCENT ANIMALS TO BE TURNED INTO OVERPRICED JUNK FOOD IS WRONG! SWITCH TO TOFU NASTY BURGER!" Sam chanted, oblivious to the distress she just caused.

At the same time, Skulker was watching from a distance with binoculars.

"Hmm… not gonna lie… I could really go for a burger when this is over." He said as he nodded to who was behind him, ready to attack.

Meantime

Sam was pulled away from the stage until brought to the back of the restaurant.

"What was that?!" Danny asks.

"I was standing up for what's right! That's what!" Sam went.

"At the cost of my job?! Because I got fired thanks to you!" Valerie said.

"So? Get a new job! This is more important!" Sam went.

"Not to me!" Valerie snapped. "You just cost me my job, which means that future people I go to will hear from him that I let you do your stupid agenda and got me in trouble so they won't hire me! Not everyone has money from their great grandparents helping them out like you do!" Valerie went.

"I don't use my family's money!" Sam responded.

"No but your parents do if they need to bail you!" Valerie snapped.

Sam scowled at her before noticing all eyes were on her, and not for good.

"You have really done it this time, Sam." Tucker went, scolding her.

"How can you be so selfish?" Danny asks.

"Oh, I'm selfish?! I'm helping innocent cows th-"

"First off, beef doesn't come from cows, it comes from steers. Second, you cost Valerie her only source of income and made it so we don't get extra credit." Tucker said.

"Not to mention you got us banned from our favorite joint for a month! What the Heck was going through your mind?!" Danny yelled.

"I did what I needed to do. If you won't help me save Mother Nature's beautiful creatures, then-"

"Enough. Sam? You're on probation for now." Danny said.

"Excuse me?" Sam asks.

"You heard it. You're off the team for the time being." Danny said as he and Tucker walked away, joining Valerie as she looked distraught over losing her job.

Sam was left with her mouth agape, at a loss for what happened. She walked towards the stage, seeing Mikey and his friends doing their own presentation and being applauded.

"How am I selfish?!" She questioned.

"Because you prioritized the opinions of animals, which have no sapience or any idea what you're doing, over people who do know you and you got them in trouble just because you can't leave well enough alone." Kwan suddenly answered, having appeared right next to her.

Sam gasped and pulled back before scowling at him.

"Oh, it's you." She said.

"You should learn to be more considerate of people." Kwan said.

"Oh? And let them do terrible things to people?" Sam questioned with fists at hips.

"At least I don't get someone else fired…" Kwan said with a disapproving look on his face as he walked away.

Sam, now alone, looked away with a scowl before it slowly softened.

"Why is it that Kwan of all people saying that is making me feel like dirt?" She asked herself.

2 Hours Later

The last presentation finished as Irving Burns walked up to the stage.

"And that concludes the Casper High presentations. Now… please enjoy the newly improved menu." He said as the doors opened.

As that went on, Valerie sat at one of the tables, her face on the table. The shock and displeasure of losing her job was still present. She was so distraught that she didn't see Danny, Tucker, Jazz and Danielle joining her.

"How are you feeling?" Danny asks.

"Like my life was ruined… and for once, I can't blame a ghost." Valerie muttered.

"I'm sorry…" Danny went.

"Don't be. It was Sam, after all…" Valerie groaned, still not looking up.

Everyone else shared a look as they were unsure what else to say.

That's when the two Phantoms ghost senses went off.

"Ghost trouble…" Danielle went.

Valerie looked up, groaning loudly.

"I can't even get excited about that…" She said.

As the chaos continued, both Fentons nodded as they made a break for it to morph.

However, two people got in their way.

"Danielle!" Sophie went.

"Uh… hey…" Danielle went impatiently.

"We got you one of the new burgers, what with your family currently being banned." Carly said as she held up the bag as Sophie presented it.

"Want one?" Sophie asks.

"Uh… not now." Danielle went quickly.

"You sure? Because we-"

"NOT NOW!" Danielle snapped at Carly.

The two girls shrunk back in shock as Danny looked on in mild disapproval.

"Okay... if you insist..." Sophie went.

As the two girls left with their heads sunk between their shoulders, Danny shook his head.

"You could've handled that better." Danny said.

"Let's handle this problem better first, come on!" Danielle insisted, tugging at his arm.

Danny sighed, figuring he'll talk with her later.

Moments later

The two Phantoms rose from where they escaped to morph, rising into the air. Both on the lookout for what triggered their ghost sense, both remained on high alert with their backs turned to each other.

"See anything?" Danny asks

Before Dani could answer, a warning shot flew past their heads.

"See this?!" Skulker was heard calling out.

Looking in the direction of where it came from, they saw Skulker hovering with his arms crossed and a smug grin on his face.

"Skulker? What do you want?" Danny questioned as he and Dani readied for anything.

"Oh, what else? We're here to continue the hunt and destroy you is all." Skulker said.

"Yeah, well you be-" Danny then noticed Skulker's choice of words. "Wait… we're here?"

"What? Did you adopt the royal we?" Dani asks.

"Well, he always did have a big ego." Danny joked.

Skulker scowled at him for a moment before resuming what he was talking about.

"I was referring to them." Skulker gestured to what was behind him.

At first it seemed like he was gesturing to nothing, but that's when they appeared.

Technus, Ember, Walker, Bullet, Johnny, Kitty, Spectra, Bertrand, Desiree, the Ghost Writer, the Lunch Lady and the Box Ghost. All of them looked evil and ready to fight.

"Uh… starting a bowling team?" Dani asks.

"Hilarious, but no." Skulker said. "We ha-"

"A bowling team would actually be a neat idea." Bertrand said out loud, getting their attention.

"I'm pretty great with a seven ten split, to be honest." Bullet admitted.

"What? No we-" Skulker started but was cut off.

"Why am I the last to be hearing about a bowling team?" Johnny asks.

"I'm not really into bowling. But… anyone wanna start a team? Can I design the shirts?" Kitty asks.

"Oh, that's a wonderful idea." Spectra went.

"You're missing the point here." Skulker went impatiently.

"Any chance I can join in?" Ghost Writer asks, only to get conked on the head by Walker.

"Shut it! Besides, no unauthorized sports teams without following the proper procedures! That'd be against the rules… not to mention, a waste of my time." Walker went.

Skulker gritted his teeth as everyone kept discussing other topics.

"ENOUGH!" He shouted, getting their attention. "We're here for revenge, remember?!" He then redirected his attention to the Phantoms. "We are the Danny Phantom Revenge Squad! We have formed to find you, face you, and fina-WHAT'S SO FUNNY?!"

Both Phantoms were failing to hold back their laughter with hands to their faces.

"Danny Phantom Revenge Squad? Isn't that… kind of on the nose and a little lackluster?" Danny asks.

"See? Even he agrees with us!" Walker shouted to an unamused Skulker.

"Can we go back to the idea of a bowling team?" The Box Ghost asks.

"ENOUGH OF ALL THIS TALK ABOUT THINGS WE'RE NOT HERE FOR!" Skulker shouted in anger before pointing at the two. "JUST DESTROY THE GHOST BOY! AND POSSIBLY HIS COPY WHILE YOU'RE AT IT!"

The two Phantoms, realizing that they were outnumbered, did the only sensible thing to do here.

They made a break for it.

"Let's make some distance between us and them." Danny said as he and his sister retreated.

A blast that passed Danny's head made him look back, seeing the Revenge Squad following them.

"You aren't getting away that easily, whelps!" Skulker shouted as he fired at them.

"Shadow, get those punks!" Johnny ordered as he sent his shadow at them.

Thinking fast, both Phantoms separated, causing the Revenge Squad to looked confused before they split up, with Skulker, Walker, Technus, Spectra, Ember, Box Ghost, and Ghost Writer chasing Danny, and Bullet, Lunch Lady, Betrand, Johnny, and Desiree chasing Dani.

"You think splitting us up will help you?" Skulker taunted as he and the others chased Danny.

"Well, yeah." Danny said as he waited until they were close enough, a blue energy ball charging in his hands.

Without warning, he tossed the blue ball over his shoulder, towards the group, who were too late to dodge it. In a flash of light, the ghosts chasing him were covered in ice, causing them to fall to the ground.

Meanwhile, Dani was flying as fast as she could with her pursuers on her tail.

"You think you can beat us, you cheap knock-off?" Bullet exclaimed as he shot at her, but she kept dodging him.

"Well, if you can't catch this cheap knock-off, what does that say about you losers?" Dani taunted.

Dani then did a nosedive, quickly flying to the ground, with the other ghosts following her. Once she was close to the ground, she suddenly stopped flying, surprising the ghosts as they flew by her. Once they were all in front of her, she started blasting them, hitting them on the back, knocking them to the ground.

Once she was done, she regrouped with Danny.

"That worked…" Dani said.

Danny nodded before seeing one ghost still hanging around.

"Not for long. What are you doing here, Kitty? You and I aren't exactly itching to brawl or anything like that." He questioned.

"Johnny's been whining about you for a while, so it was getting annoying. Plus, I got nothing better to do." Kitty said as she applied make-up, namely lipstick.

Danny, remembering what Jazz said when she faced Kitten, started to realize what this means.

"Uh oh…" He said.

"This might not work on your sister but whatever. Hey Danny, kiss your afterlife goodbye!" Kitty said as she sent one of her deadly kisses.

Danny wasn't able to avoid it in time before Dani flew in to block the attack.

"Hey… you're right. It doesn't work on me because I'm a girl. Guess whatever was missing to make me an exact clone was a good thing to not get." Dani said.

"That was close... " Danny said in relief.

However, this incident gave the ghosts enough time to recover and free themselves before they rushed towards the two Phantoms.

"There they are!" Walker shouted.

"You're about to feel our boxed up fury!" The Box Ghost shouted.

"And this is what was in the box!" Bullet said as he pulled out an electric collar, the same one that was used on Wulf, and rushed to slap the collar on one of them. Danny quickly kicked it off his hand as he got close and blasted Bullet towards the group, dispersing them.

With a nod, both Phantoms turned invisible and managed to get away.

Seeing their targets gone, the ghosts spread out.

Just inside the alley, with the coast being clear, the two returned to being visible.

"Wow, you managed to tick off enough ghosts in your life." Dani commented.

"So I noticed…" Danny muttered. "Don't end up like me, Dani. Make friends, not enemies."

Before the two could continue their playful banter, the sound of a guitar being played caught their attention.

"Hey, Dipstick! You think you can get away from me that easily?"

Danny turned around his head, frowning disappointment upon seeing who it was.

"Seriously?!" He asked upon seeing Ember.

"Yup." Ember went, ready for battle.

Before Danny knew it, Dani came to his side.

"We can take her." Dani said, her hands glowing.

Danny, however, had a different idea as he turned towards Dani.

"Go." He ordered, pointing away.

"Huh?" Dani went.

"It's me they all want. Get Mom and Dad for help." He said. Dani wanted to protest, but the look in his eyes made her reluctantly comply.

With that, Dani flew away as fast as she could, leaving the two alone.

"Sent the little girl home? Good." Ember said with a smile.

"So, you're with them? After all we went through?" He asked, sounding disappointed.

Ember rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"I'm my own woman and I need to remind you that I want to take over the world. Plus, we both know you'd never be on my side willingly..." She pointed out.

"Seriously? I kind of figured you'd be above payback." Danny said.

"I am… which is why I'm making a little ultimatum. Side with me, help me take over the world, and I'll keep everyone else off your back. Deal?" Ember asks with a grin, extending her hand.

However, Danny scowled at her.

"I can't believe I liked it better when I hated you…" Danny said, refusing to take it.

Angered, Ember snarled at him.

"I gave you a chance! This city and world would be ours, mine mostly, if you said yes!" She snapped.

"Maybe if you didn't try to take over the world and attack my town, we wouldn't be having this issue!" Danny shouted.

With an angry shout, Ember suddenly swung her guitar at Danny, who threw a kick to block it. There was a small shockwave from their clash that pushed them away from each other. Ember quickly recovered and threw musical fists at Danny, who flew around them before he fired at her, which she deflected back with a swing from her guitar, almost hitting him. Ember then placed her guitar under her feet and flew towards Danny and started throwing punches, which Danny blocked and dodged.

As Danny and Ember fought, he couldn't help but notice that she wasn't fighting as ferociously as she usually does.

Huh? Is she trying not to hurt me? He thought as he easily managed to dodge her punches.

Suddenly, as Danny threw a punch, Ember used her guitar to block his fist, which suddenly blasted him with the force of his own punch. Ember then jumped off her guitar and tackled Danny to the ground, pinning him to the ground. Danny tried to get up or turned intangible, but both Ember being on top of him and the impact of the fall made him unable to escape.

Before Ember could punch his face, she groaned and shook her head.

"You're right… it was so much better when we hated each other…" She said before she pulled him in and kissed him deeply.

Surprised, Danny lied there, shocked as Ember locked lips with him, but being a hormonal teenager, he reacted by wrapping his arms around her head, returning her kiss.

Two very audible gasps were heard, making the two separate and saw Kitty, who was holding Dani by the waist, both of them looking at the two ghosts with slack jaws.

"Sis?" Danny asks.

"Kitty?" Ember asks.

"What are you two doing!?" Kitty asked.

"What am I doing? What are you doing!?" Ember exclaimed as she jumped off him.

"Dani, I thought I told you to get Mom and Dad!" Danny exclaimed.

"I was gonna get to Mom and Dad when Kitty caught me. I figure coming back to help would be in order, then we both saw this. Is this some power where she sucks your soul through your mouth?" Dani questioned.

"No… that was a kiss." Kitty said.

"…Is this why you sent me away? To lock lips with the bad guys?!" Dani questioned.

"Kitty! You see the punk?!" Johnny was heard calling out.

Kitty looked to Danny, then to Ember. One had a nervous look, the other looked at her friend with a pleading look on her face, silently asking her not to call the others.

Kitty groaned to herself.

"Can't believe I'm doing this…" She muttered before looking back. "No!"

Her answer gave the two Phantoms enough time to leave. Once they did, Ember looked away in shame.

"T-Thanks…" She said.

However, to her surprise, Kitty landed next to her and smiled.

"So… Danny, huh?" She asks with a genuinely happy interest.

Once the two were on the road to their house, the stopped a moment to take a breath.

"Okay… that was close." He looked at Dani. "Now, let's g- why are you looking at me like that?"

She sent her brother a suspicious look.

"What was that about?" Dani asks.

"Huh?" Danny asks.

"You know what I'm talking about! What was going on with Ember?" Dani asks.

"Uh... nothing." Danny went.

Dani then pieced together events from the past few days.

"Wait a minute... you were oversleeping more than usual, you weren't able to get up early enough, you keep finding excuses to be alone..." She then made a shocked face. "Are you dating Ember?"

Danny stiffened in shock as he laughed it off.

"We weren't dating! We were just... spending time together without hitting each other, getting ice cream and talking about stuff... and possibly making out..." He admitted.

Dani made an unamused look on her face.

"That's a date!" She shouted.

"I... guess it is..." Danny said, scratching his chin in embarrassment.

"Are you falling in love with her?" Dani questioned.

"Whhhaaaaa?" Danny went with a sheepish look before giving in. "Yeah, I might actually be falling in love with her..." He admitted.

Dani shook her head in displeasure.

"I don't believe this. No wonder you want me to just spend more time with those girls, so you can suck face with someone who tried to make your bleed out of every orifice on that face." She said in displeasure.

Danny's brow furrowed, not liking what she said.

"Excuse me?!" He questioned.

"You heard me, apparently your hormones finally killed off your brain cells..." She sassed him.

"Dani, you are going too far!" He said angrily.

"As far as her tongue went into your mouth?" Dani said.

"U-Umm…" Danny went as his face turned red, looking away.

"Nat is one thing, same with Valerie or Sam. I'd even think it'd be neat if you went back to Kentucky to give that Sally girl a shot… but seriously?! She's evil, remember?! Did you forget or were you so happy to pawn me off to other people to hang out with so that you "reform" her or whatever?" Dani questioned.

Danny sent an accusing look to his little sister.

"Why do you not sound so happy to make new friends?" Danny asks.

"Because it turns out I didn't have to because you were Frenching Ember this whole time!" Dani went.

"Did you seriously just hang out with those girls just to prove you can make friends rather than actually trying to make friends?!" Danny questioned angrily.

"So what?! What's the difference anyway?" Dani sassed as she turned her back.

Her brother sent her a shocked look.

"Are you for real?!" He asked.

"I'm a clone, remember? I'm not real…" Dani went.

"Don't talk like that." Danny said.

"Oh, then let me talk like this!" Dani said, turning to face him. "Let me ask you something!" Her eyes darted from her brother to what was behind him, several feet in the air. "Why is there a crack in the sky?" She asks, her anger slowly subsiding.

"Huh? A crack in the sky?" Danny asks, turning around to see for himself.

What they saw, hovering several feet in the air, was indeed some kind of black crack-like object.

20 minutes later, after sundown

With the Fenton RV parked nearby, Jack and Maddie did their thing. With a scanner in her hands, Maddie held it up and tried to get some kind of reading of the hovering crack.

With a puzzled look, Maddie walked back to Jack.

"This is… bizarre…" Maddie said.

"Maddie, it's a hovering thing that looks like a zig-zag crack." Jack said.

"Exactly, there's nothing there for it to form. It's almost as if… something is there but it shouldn't be." Maddie scratches the side of her head.

As that went on, Jazz's car drove up with Sam and Tucker in her backseat.

"What's going on here?" Jazz asked her parents as she parked.

"Your brother and sister spotted… that." Maddie said, pointing to the hovering crack. "We have no idea what that is, and it isn't emitting anything ectoplasmic. So, we can rule out ghosts." Maddie said.

"Whoa…" Sam went as she and Tucker got out of the car.

Maddie then frowned at her presence.

"Well, I see the girl who hijacked my son's project for her agenda." She said disdainfully.

Sam scowled and looked away.

"All I'm doing is supporting animals' rights." She said.

"By messing with our lives and making me not eat at my favorite place and safe haven from embarrassing parents." Tucker said.

"Oh, come on. I was able to bribe Burns into rehiring Valerie and lifting the ban." Sam pointed out.

"Which wouldn't have happened if you didn't use our chance at extra credit to make a crazy statement that didn't even make a difference!" Tucker went.

"You're so selfish, wanting to keep your own convenience instead of doing what is right!" Sam went.

"Call the kettle black, why don't you, ya hypocrite?" Tucker responded.

Being called out on hypocrisy angered Sam, whose face turned red.

"I AM NOT A HYPOCRITE!" Sam shouted.

"I see you're not taking responsibility for your actions again." Maddie remarked.

"I paid to have the ban lifted, after all!" Sam shouted, upset at how she's being given so much flak.

"Again, wouldn't have happened if you didn't do it in the first place." Tucker said with arms crossed.

Sam snarled at him like an animal as the two began arguing.

Maddie glared at Sam's actions as she shook her head in disapproval.

Meanwhile, on a nearby rooftop, both Danny and Dani were on lookout for any sign of the Revenge Squad.

"Any sign of them?" Danny asks.

"Nope, not even your new girlfriend." Dani responded with a snarky tone.

"She's not my girlfriend, Danielle." Danny responded to her, looking rather upset with her attitude.

"No, just someone you'd rather spend time with than with me." Danielle answered.

"What's the problem? It's not like I have a problem with you hanging out with your new friends." Danny said. "Oh, I'm sorry, you're not really friends with them."

"They are too! I just figured I didn't really need to make any as long as I have you… but now I know better." Dani said, crossing her arms and floating downward to the street.

As he watched her go, Danny groaned and shook his head. He's realizing that he's being immature and decides to be an adult here. So, he followed her.

"Sis!" He called out.

That was a mistake. His back was turned, meaning he did not see Skulker from several blocks away.

"There he is." He said with a grin as he raised his wrist to his face. "I found him. Revenge time."

Danny had landed not far from Dani, who turned her back and crossed her arms.

"Sis…" He pleaded.

"I'm not talking to you." She said, refusing to even open her eyes.

"Are you seriously that mad at me?" Danny questioned.

"What is she mad about?" Jazz asks.

Realizing no one else knows, Danny stiffened.

"Uh… nothing…" He lied.

"Oh, he's been going out with Ember and hiding it from us." Dani said flatly.

As everyone gasped, Danny glared at her.

"Really?!" He asks.

"What? Now everyone knows!" Dani went.

"That was not yours to tell!" Danny said.

At that moment, everyone. With everyone questioning Danny to varying degrees of shock and even anger.

With a groan, Danny shook his head. This is what he was trying to avoid.

"I can't believe you've been seeing her of all people! This is worse than if it were Paulina!" Sam shouted.

"Seriously?! I thought you snapped out of dangerous women after the fling with Valerie!" Jazz went.

"Congrats on trying to win her over, dude." Tucker went, earning various reactions from everyone else. "What? She's hot!"

As Danny shook his head, he took notice of something.

"Wait a minute…" Danny said.

"What is it, Son?" Jack questioned.

"Maybe an excuse for why this is a good thing for him." Dani went.

"No! Shh! Look!" Danny went, pointing at the crack. "It's getting bigger."

To their surprise, the crack was indeed increasing its size, now reaching the ground. All the while, a strange, rather unpleasant hum was coming from it, along with a rather disturbing guttural noise.

With a bit of curiosity, Danny walked towards the crack and reached out. Once his hand was about 2 feet away, he felt a strange, unpleasant jolt from it that made him pull back.

With a hiss, he shook his hand in the air until the pain seemed to go away.

What was that? It felt like I got stabbed by something burning hot with a shock… He thought.

The crack then began to expand, starting slow before opening large enough for something somewhat human sized in width could go through. A rush of cold air left it, causing everyone to pull back.

Sam shivered, wrapping her arms around herself.

"I actually wish I had that pinky, poofy snow jacket my mom bought me just now." She said with a distressed look on her face.

However, Danny took steps back upon noticing a shape on the other side. A very tall, lanky figure with red eyes that was slowly walking towards him. These eyes glowed brightly, almost as if the sight of Danny brought out a rage from the one gazing at him. With each step, the figure's body bobbed up and down. The arms were not moving, almost as if they were atrophied. Squinting his eyes, Danny started to notice something else about the figure. Namely, features sticking out of its head. Suddenly, the realization of what this could be hit him as his eyes widened.

"GET BACK!" He said, holding his arm out as he flew backward.

"Huh?" Dani questioned.

Before anyone else could ask, the figure finally stepped through.

Taking a three-toed step out of the portal, what came out was an entity that Danny and Dani were both very familiar with. An entity that grinned upon seeing Danny.

"Found you…" The Wendigo said.
