Katy slumped forward on the chair in the console room, her head still aching painfully as it had done for the past twenty minutes. Running a hand down her face, she tried to quell the anxiety that was flowing through her veins. No one should have been able to send her through time. But she had seen the device Saxon had...the screwdriver that looked just like the Doctor's. If she hadn't been convinced Saxon wasn't human, now she was sure of it. Her thoughts were interrupted as a mug of tea was thrust in her face, causing Katy's brow to furrow.

"You made me tea?" She exclaimed, almost in disbelief.

"Lots of milk, one sugar and a dash of honey. Just how you like it" The Doctor stated, gesturing for her to take the mug.

Her frown only deepened at his words, still being taken aback every time he showed just how much he knew about her. It reminded Katy just how little she really knew about him. She took a sip of the tea without comment, a smile gracing her lips as she found it tasted as if she had made it herself.

"How's the head?" The Doctor inquired, reaching out to place his hand against her forehead to check if she was becoming feverish.

"Better. I don't feel like I'm gonna' puke over the floor anymore" Katy stated.

"Good to hear. I don't think the TARDIS would appreciate that much" The Doctor murmured, coming to stand beside her, leaning against the rails.

"I remember that dress. Professor Lazarus. We almost went through the blender" The Doctor went on, fidgeting with his hands, clearly nervous about something.

"You remember my dress?" Katy teased, looking up at him.

"It's a pretty dress" The Doctor replied, his cheeks tinged red.

"...You won't jump again for a while this time. Might just be a day or two. Could even be a couple weeks" The Doctor informed her, as her eyes narrowed.

"Why'd you say that?" She pushed.

"You've met him. He sent you forward in time" The Doctor suggested, as Katy pulled herself up onto shaky feet.

"You know him then? Cause' he sure as hell knows you" Katy pointed out.

"It's...complicated" The Doctor said, as Katy shot him an unimpressed look.

"That's it? That's all I get? Doctor, he said...he said you're keeping things from me. You're not even gonna' try to convince me he's lying?" Katy argued.

"I don't like this any more than you do but...everything that he did, that I did...it all needs to happen exactly the same as it always has. I shouldn't even be talking to you about this" The Doctor sighed, dropping his face into his hands.

"Why? Why is it so important?" Katy insisted.

"Because this is how you stay with me," The Doctor told her, his tone full of sadness.

Katy reached out to touch his arm, wanting to push him further when Amy came sauntering up the steps to the console, her arms crossed over her chest. The pair were quick to spring apart, looking away from each other, but the tension could still be felt in the air.

"Where's my tea then?" Amy questioned.

"Tea! Yes, brilliant, wonderful, watery leaves. Why don't I show you the first teapot? Or even better, the talking teapot!" The Doctor announced, jumping into action, pulling at a lever on the console.

"And just like that, he's going to act like this conversation never happened" Katy muttered to herself.

"Nice dress," Amy said, stiffly as she slid in beside Katy, who noticed she had changed her clothes.

She was now clad in a red jumper and a very short black skirt, her eyes still on the Doctor. Katy stayed where she was, looking her over for a few moments, coming to the realisation that it was the youngest she had ever seen Amy. Very early days for her too then, Katy thought to herself.

"Where's Rory?" Katy asked.

"Why would Rory be here?" Amy huffed, as Katy attempted to hide her grimace.

Amy and Rory's relationship had grown over the time they had spent with the Doctor, but from the lack of a wedding ring on Amy's finger, she figured she was in a time before they were married. When Amy might have had eyes for someone else...

"I'm going to get changed" Katy exclaimed.

"Remember your way to your room?" The Doctor asked, as she gave a quick nod.

"Hold on. Why does she get her own room?" Amy pouted, as Katy and the Doctor shared an amused look.

Katy watched in amusement as the Doctor rushed around the museum exhibits that surrounded them, excitedly pointing out which artefacts were correctly labelled and which ones weren't. She trailed after him, with Amy staying by her side, a bored expression on her face.

"So, where's this talking teapot then?" Katy questioned.

"Should be around here somewhere...wrong! Very wrong!" The Doctor huffed, gesturing to a cabinet with what appeared to be some sort of communicator inside.

"Doctor, c'mon! You promised me a planet" Amy complained.

"Amy, this isn't any old asteroid. It's the Delerium Archive, the final resting place of the headless monks. The biggest museum ever" The Doctor stated, throwing his hands up in the air.

"Oh, I see. It's how you keep score" Amy teased, as the Doctor came to a sudden halt in front of a old box, crumbling away inside one of the cabinets.

"Is that a Home Box?" Katy frowned, as the Doctor looked up at her with a grin.

"What's a Home Box?" Amy inquired.

"It's like a black box on a plane, except it homes. Anything happens to the ship, the Home Box flies home with all the flight data. We used to use them on my home planet" Katy murmured, noticing that the letters on top of the box weren't translating.

"The writing, the graffiti. Old High Gallifreyan. The lost language of the Time Lords. There were days, there were many days, these words could burn stars and raise up empires, and topple gods" The Doctor went on, feeling Katy stiffen beside him.

"Kill whole species" Katy added, raising an eyebrow at the Doctor, causing a guilty expression to flash over his features.

"Precisely...dangerous words" The Doctor nodded, solemnly.

"What does it say?" Amy pushed, still not sounding impressed.

"...Hello, sweetie" The Doctor muttered, his ears tinged red with embarrassment, as Katy let out a laugh.

"Sound like anyone you know?" Katy asked, as the Doctor let out a long sigh.

"Just one. I need to find a way to get this back to the TARDIS, maybe there's a mechanism under the—" The Doctor started, but he was cut off as Katy suddenly sent her elbow slamming down onto the glass cabinet.

He and Amy jumped back in surprise at the glass shattered easily, and Katy reached out inside to grab the box, just as alarms started to ring. She gave the Doctor a mischievous grin before chucking the box toward him and rushing off toward the TARDIS, as the Doctor blinked a few times before following after her. The three travellers made it back to the time machine just before the guards could catch them, shutting the TARDIS doors behind them.

"Your trouble, you are" The Doctor accused, pointing his finger toward Katy, who only smirked in response.

"It's why you like me. Come on, I want to see what this Home Box recorded" She insisted, as they marched up the steps to the console.

"Why are we doing this?" Amy inquired, as the Doctor began placing wires into the boxes.

"Because someone on a spaceship twelve thousand years ago is trying to attract my attention. Let's see if we can get the security playback working" The Doctor explained, before pulling down a lever, causing the TARDIS screen to come to life.

It showed only static for a few moments, before a woman appeared on the screen, dressed in an elegant gown, and black sunglasses atop her nose. She looked right and left, her small gun held up in the air, before she lowered her glasses, looking directly at the screen. Katy's forehead wrinkled as the woman winked toward the security camera, clearly realising they would be watching her. Katy's eyes then flickered over to the Doctor, whose mouth had gone slack, a look of wonderment on his face.

She'd never seen him look at anyone like that before.

He rushed to fast-forward the playback, desperate to know what happened next. The woman spoke with someone off screen, their conversation focused on some artefact in the vault of the ship. Katy's eyes widened as the woman looked at her watch, announcing an array of numbers.

"Co-ordinates" Katy realised, as the Doctor began to type the numbers in the typewriter attached to the TARDIS console, grinning from ear to ear.

"She wants an air corridor too...wait, she's not going to...?" Katy trailed off, her mouth hung agape.

"It's certainly her style" The Doctor exclaimed, before sprinting toward the TARDIS doors, swinging them open.

Seconds later, the woman from the footage was hurtling through the doors, falling on top of the Doctor as they were thrown to the floor. She had her hands splayed out on the floor by the Doctor's head, whilst his hands had instinctively moved to rest on her waist, neither moving for longer than Katy appreciated.

"Doctor?" Amy announced, her eyes narrowed.

"River" The Doctor murmured in greeting to the woman, who pulled herself off of him, twisting around to look out of the TARDIS doors.

"Follow that ship!" River commanded as the group watched the Starliner whizzing away from them.

Katy and Amy watched far back from the console as the Doctor and the strange newcomer, River, flew the TARDIS, which appeared strained from flying through space instead of through time. River made it look so easy. As if it was only muscle memory for her, seemingly not even needing to look at the levers and switches she was pulling on.

"They've gone into warp drive. We're losing them. Use the stabilisers" River advised, as the TARDIS veered to the left, almost throwing them off their feet.

"There aren't any stabilisers" The Doctor stated.

"The blue switches," River said, gesturing to two glowing blue switches close to his right side.

"Oh, the blue ones don't do anything, they're just blue" The Doctor told her.

"Yes, they're blue. They're the blue stabilisers!" River insisted, as Katy rolled her eyes, striding forward and pushing down on the blue switches before they could continue arguing.

"Thank you, dear" River smiled at her, which only seemed to irritate the Doctor further.

"Yeah. Well, it's just boring now, isn't it? They're boring-ers. They're blue boring-ers" The Doctor complained, tapping on the console, causing the TARDIS to hum a warning to him.

"Okay. I've mapped the probability vectors, done a fold-back on the temporal isometry, charted the ship to its destination, and parked us right alongside" River announced, pulling the TARDIS screen over to them.

"Parked us? We haven't landed" The Doctor frowned.

"Of course, we've landed. I just landed her" River repeated, as confusion grew on the Doctor's features.

"But, it didn't make the noise. You know, the..." The Doctor trailed off, imitating the wheezing sound the TARDIS would make.

Katy bit her to stop the laughter that threatened to leave her lips, shaking her head at the Doctor's ridiculous antics.

"It's not supposed to make that noise. You leave the brakes on" River pointed out, making Katy snort, earning a glare from the Doctor.

"Yeah, well, it's a brilliant noise. I love that noise. Come along, Katy, Pond. Let's have a look" The Doctor announced, racing over to the TARDIS doors.

"No, wait. Environment checks" River called out to him, anxiously.

"Oh yes, sorry. Quite right. Environment checks...nice out" The Doctor retorted, opening the doors as light poured into the TARDIS.

"We're somewhere in the Garn Belt. There's an atmosphere. Early indications suggest that—" River started, when the Doctor cut her off.

"We're on Alfava Metraxis, the seventh planet of the Dundra System. Oxygen-rich atmosphere, all toxins in the soft band, eleven-hour day and chances of rain later" The Doctor exclaimed.

"He thinks he's so hot when he does that, doesn't he?" River said to Katy, whose lips twitched into a smile despite herself.

"How come you can fly the TARDIS?" Amy pushed, curiously, as the Doctor came back up the steps to the console, sitting down on the chair.

"Oh, I had lessons from the very best" River replied.

"Well, yeah" The Doctor murmured, with a smug expression.

"I was talking about Katy" River huffed, with a teasing grin.

"Wait, I taught you to fly the TARDIS?" Katy gaped, as River tilted her head, in an inquisitive manner.

"...Oh, you're young. You're so young. Look at you" River exclaimed, all her attention suddenly on Katy.

"Thank you?" Katy huffed, unsurely, when River reached out to touch her cheek.

Katy instantly stiffened, noticing how to Doctor stood to his feet out of the corner of her eye, in an almost protective manner. It was then that Katy realised that River seemed to be searching her eyes for something. Who the hell was this woman?

"You have no idea who I am, do you?" River realised, in a deflated tone.

"Sorry, but...no" Katy replied, as River dropped her hand, looking away from her for a moment.

Katy couldn't understand why River seemed so devastated by that knowledge, looking like she might collapse under the weight of it. River's gaze darted over to the Doctor, who shook his head quickly, causing River to straighten her back, sucking in a deep breath.

"Why did they land here?" River asked, grabbing her red high heels and heading toward the doors, seeming to want to change the subject quickly.

"They didn't land. You should've checked the Home Box. It crashed" The Doctor informed her, as River walked out of the TARDIS.

The Doctor slammed the doors shut behind her in an instant, before rushing back over toward the console, a scowl on his face. Katy noticed he appeared to be trying very hard to avoid her gaze all of a sudden.

"So? Who the hell was that?" Katy insisted, crossing her arms.

"It's a long story and I don't know most of it. Off we go" The Doctor announced, as Katy shook her head, in disbelief.

"What are you doing?" Amy questioned.

"Leaving. She's got where she wants to go, let's go where we want to go" The Doctor pointed out.

"Are you basically running away?" Amy said, in a mocking tone, as the Doctor reached up to turn one of the levers.

"She's my future. I'm her past. It's best if we leave now—" The Doctor began, when Katy interjected, the realisation hitting her.

"Hold on. Are you saying she's like me? She's jumping around your timeline too?" Katy gaped.

"No. Not...exactly. We keep meeting in the wrong order. It's...what are you doing?" The Doctor called out, watching as Katy marched toward the doors.

"Going to talk to my future" Katy retorted, raising an eyebrow, before walking out of TARDIS before he could stop her.

Her feet faltered when she found they had landed on a desolate beach, the waves slowly lapping at the shore, spotting River a few metres away, looking at...

Katy's jaw dropped open as she saw the ship they had been chasing only minutes ago, crashed and burning. It seemed to have dove right into a decaying temple of some sort, ruins littering most of the coastline. She didn't recognise the name of the planet, but she could only hope no one had been living in the temple.

"We're friends in the future then? Or...your past, I mean?" Katy inquired, stepping over the rocks that separated her from River.

"Family, really" River stated, with a small smile.

"Oh. I'm sorry. I...I only met the Doctor a couple of weeks ago if that makes you feel any better. Hardly know him yet" Katy informed her, as River's eyebrows shot up.

"Dear God, you really are young" River mumbled, as something in her pocket made a beeping sound.

She pulled out a military-grade communicator, placing it to her ear, as the red light on the side flashed on.

"You lot in orbit yet? Yeah, I saw it land. I'm at the crash site. Try and home in on my signal" River exclaimed.

"No good, Doctor Song. We need something to boost the signal" A male voice replied.

"Give it here. I might be young but I'm good with tech" Katy suggested, as River handed the communicator to her.

River watched in fascination as Katy pulled the back of the communicator and began to fiddle with the wires in between. A grin grew on her face when the red light on the side grew brighter, showing whatever Katy was doing was working.

"It's a basic device, but by extrapolating the magnetism inside I can...what?" Katy frowned, when she saw the look on River's face.

"He always liked you, didn't he?" River mumbled, more to herself than Katy.

"The guy you spoke to called you Doctor Song" Katy stated, not sure how else to reply.

"Ah, yes. River Song. Doctorate from Luna University. Writer, lecturer, scientific advisor..." River trailed off, listing her many titles, as she held out her hand for Katy to shake.

"Accomplished, aren't you?" Katy huffed, but reached out to take her hand, nonetheless.

"Katy Smith. Krillitane. Nurse. That's about it" Katy exclaimed, as River gave her a look.

"I doubt that" River pointed out.

"Smith?" The Doctor questioned, suddenly appearing by her side.

"It's the surnames they gave to all the unidentified kids back in the nineties. Why?" Katy frowned, when she saw the way the Doctor was smiling.

"Oh. Nothing" He said, with a small shrug.

Before she could question him further, four small tornadoes appeared behind them, causing sand to swirl in the air, until they revealed a group of men in tactical gear. Katy gave River a smirk, gesturing to her communicator, before throwing it back to her.

"You promised me an army, Doctor Song" A middle-aged man announced, a rifle tucked in under his arm, and a camouflage helmet on top of his head.

He looked ready for a war.

"No, I promised you the equivalent of an army. This is the Doctor" River retorted, as the Doctor gave the man a mocking salute.

"Father Octavian, Sir. Bishop, second class. Twenty clerics at my command. The troops are already in the drop ship and landing shortly. Doctor Song was helping us with a covert investigation. Has Doctor Song explained what we're dealing with?" Octavian inquired.

"Doctor, what do you know of the Weeping Angels?" River asked, as the Doctor spun around to face her, his face a deathly pale colour.

"The Angel, as far as we know, is still trapped in the ship. Our mission is to get inside and neutralise it. We can't get through up top, we'd be too close to the drives. According to this, behind the cliff face, there's a network of catacombs leading right up to the temple. We can blow through the base of the cliffs, get into the entrance chamber, then make our way up" Father Octavian explained, as he led the Doctor and Amy through their base camp.

"Oh, good" The Doctor muttered.

"Good, sir?" Octavian questioned, as the Doctor looked around the crumbling ruins above them.

"Catacombs. Probably dark ones. Dark catacombs. Great" The Doctor said, his tone brimming with sarcasm.

"Technically, I think it's called a maze of the dead" Octavian pointed out.

"Sounds like fun" Katy announced, as the three twisted around to face her.

The Doctor opened his mouth to scold her, but the words died on his lips when he saw she had changed into camouflage gear, the same as the rest of the soldiers. Once his brain had caught up with his mouth again, he stormed over to her.

"Which part of wait in the Tardis till' I tell you it's safe was so confusing?" The Doctor exclaimed, sternly.

"Are you coming too?" Katy asked.

"No. I can't" The Doctor pointed out.

"Well, then. I can't too. Besides, I wanted to try on the uniform. Suits me, right?" Katy questioned, as the Doctor stared at her in disbelief, his cheeks flushing red once more.

"That's...you..." The Doctor trailed off, with a groan, running a hand down his blushing face.

"Just say yes" River called out, from where she was peeking her head out of the drop ship, grinning from ear to ear.

"Yes, you look lovely. Moving on" The Doctor muttered, causing Amy to snort.

"Ooo, you are all Mister Grumpy Face today" Amy mocked, making a face at him.

"A Weeping Angel, Amy, is the deadliest, most powerful, most malevolent life form evolution has ever produced, and right now one of them is trapped inside that wreckage and I'm supposed to climb in after it with a screwdriver and a torch, and assuming I survive the radiation long enough and assuming the whole ship doesn't explode in my face, do something incredibly clever which I haven't actually thought of yet. That's my day. That's what I'm up to. Any questions?" The Doctor ranted, as Amy pursed her lips.

"Is River Song your wife?" Amy blurted out.

The Doctor went incredibly still suddenly, glancing at Katy for a moment, before pulling his gaze away. She cocked her head to one side, very interested in what his answer would be, deciding to ignore the tightness she felt in her chest at Amy's question.

"Because she's someone from your future, and the way she talks to you, I've never seen anyone do that. She's kind of like, you know, heel, boy. She's Mrs Doctor from the future, isn't she? Is she going to be your wife one day?" Amy teased.

"Yes," The Doctor replied, as Katy's mouth went slack, barely able to believe what she was hearing.

The Doctor being married to anyone just felt so...wrong to her.

"...You're right. I am definitely Mister Grumpy Face today" The Doctor added, leaving both girls more confused than ever.

"Doctor? Doctor!" River called out, as the Doctor rolled his eyes, hanging his head in embarrassment.

"Go on then. Better see what the Missus wants" Katy mocked, grabbing his shoulders and pushing him in the direction of River.

The hairs on the back of Katy's neck stood up on end the moment she entered the dropship and saw what was on the screen. A stone angel. It had its back to them, covering its face, but she could already tell it wasn't just stone. Even through the screen, she could sense it.

"What do you think? It's from the security cameras in the Byzantium vault. I ripped it when I was on board. Sorry about the quality. It's four seconds. I've put it on loop" River explained, as Katy's eyes narrowed when she realised it was just a recording.

"It's definitely an Angel. I can practically feel it...calling out" Katy murmured, as a shiver went down her spine.

"Calling out to who?" River pushed, as Katy gave a half shrug.

"But it's just a statue" Amy stated.

"It's a statue when you see it" River informed her.

"Where did it come from?" Katy inquired, pulling her gaze away from the angel.

"Oh, pulled from the ruins of Razbahan, end of last century. It's been in private hands ever since. Dormant all that time" River went on, as Katy raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, yeah? Anyone ever find out what happened to the people of Razabahan?" Katy suggested, watching as River gulped.

"What's that mean, it's a statue when you see it?" Amy inquired, still confused.

"The Weeping Angels can only move if they're unseen. So legend has it" River told her, as the Doctor shook his head, reaching out to grab onto a nearby handle on the ceiling.

No, it's not legend, it's a quantum lock. In the sight of any living creature..." The Doctor trailed off, as the handle snapped in two and he almost fell to the floor.

"He'll, uh...pay for any damages" Katy whispered to Octavian, before grinning at the Doctor.

"As I was saying, in the sight of any living thing the Angels literally cease to exist. They're just stone. The ultimate defence mechanism" The Doctor explained.

"What, being a stone?" Amy figured.

"Being a stone until you turn your back" The Doctor said, ending his speech with a smile.

"So, it's basically unkillable? You brought us along to chase after something that can't die?" Katy pointed out, looking toward River.

"You both have always enjoyed a challenge" River teased.

"Right, sweetie. I need you" River announced, as she marched out of the dropship, whilst the Doctor made no move to follow her.

"I think she meant you, Doc" Katy mumbled, as the Doctor shot her a disgruntled look, but followed River, regardless, with Octavian following close on their heels.

Katy went to lean against the side of the dropship, her arms crossed over her chest, as she let out a sigh. Seeing the Doctor run after River shouldn't have hurt her feelings. It really shouldn't. Yet there she was feeling...something she didn't want to admit.

"Someone feeling jealous?" Amy suggested, coming to stand beside her.

"No! No, I just...I wonder how many more there are like me and River out there. I guess I thought...I don't know, it made me feel...special. Like I had a real connection with him. I've never had that with anyone before" Katy admitted, as Amy's gaze softened.

"So...you like him, yeah?" Amy pushed, as Katy's forehead wrinkled.

"Why are you so interested?" Katy retorted.

"No reason...what the hell?" Amy exclaimed, looking past Katy back toward the screen with the angel.

"It's moved" Katy gasped, when she saw the Weeping Angel had turned its head to look at them.

"I found this. Definitive work on the Angels. Well, the only one. Written by a madman. It's barely readable, but I've marked a few passages" River stated, handing the Doctor a leather-bound book, which he riffled through in a few seconds.

"Not bad. Bit slow in the middle. Didn't you hate his girlfriend? No. No, hang on. Wait, wait, wait...why isn't my head working today?" The Doctor complained, hitting himself in the face with the book.

"I imagine that could have something to do with Katy meeting me" River mumbled, as the Doctor chose to ignore her comments.

"This book is wrong. What's wrong with this book?" The Doctor insisted, giving the leather a sniff.

"It's so strange when you go all baby face. How early is this for you?" River inquired.

"Very early" The Doctor confessed, flickering through the book, a little slower this time.

"But you know what happens to her...with the Master?" River guessed, as the Doctor's head snapped up to look at her, an angry expression on his face.

"Don't. It's still...it's too soon" The Doctor muttered.

"But she's here. She's back with you. That's good, isn't it?" River pointed out.

"Yes, it is. But she'll be gone again soon, and I'll have to watch as it happens all over again" The Doctor spat out, gripping the book tightly in his hands.

"Doctor. It wasn't your fault" River insisted, reaching out slowly to place her hand over his.

Just as the Doctor opened his mouth to reply, they heard the dropship door slam shut, and the handle locks in place...with Katy and Amy still inside, he realised.

"It can't have. Doctor Song said she only had the four seconds of recording" Amy pointed out, as Katy shook her head, taking a few steps forward.

"Screw this. I'm pulling the plug" Katy muttered, reaching underneath the screen to pull the large wires away from the wall with ease.

She jumped back in fright when she saw the screen was not only still on, but the Weeping Angel had now turned to look at them directly. She kept walking back until her back hit Amy, who reached out to grab her arm, now beginning to realise what danger they were in.

"Amy. Get out. Now" Katy ordered, in a hushed voice.

She could hear Amy rushing toward the exit, as her hands scrambled to turn the lock on the door. Katy didn't take her eyes off the Weeping Angel for a second. She had heard all the legends growing up. How the Angels could send any creature back in time, feed off their potential energy. They would do much worse to those they didn't sense any potential from.

"It won't open" Amy cried, as she banged her fists on the door.

"What? Shit. Okay, come stand here. Keep looking at the angel. Don't even blink" Katy called out, gesturing for Amy to stand beside her.

"What happens if I blink?" Amy questioned, but Katy chose not to respond.

Instead, she walked over to the dropship door and used all her strength to turn the lock, but still, it wouldn't budge. She continued trying for a few more seconds, her fingers wrapped around the lock so tightly they were turning white. Suddenly, the entire lock came loose in her fingers, as Katy almost fell onto her back, horror dawning on her face.

"Oh, fuck" She all but whimpered, as Amy twisted around to face her.

"Did you just pull the bloody lock off?!" Amy gaped.

"Well, I wasn't exactly trying to...Amy!" Katy shouted, pointing toward the Angel which now had its face close up to the screen.

With panic now coursing through her veins, Katy began slamming her hands on the metal door, desperately trying to get someone's attention. She could feel the Weeping Angel calling out now, louder than ever. It almost sounded like it was...laughing?

"Doctor! Doctor!" Katy screamed.

"Oh God, it's in the room!" Amy exclaimed, as Katy dared to look back to see a glitching image of the Weeping Angel now only a few metres away.

"Amy, for God's sake, stop blinking!" Katy complained, going to stand beside her.

"Have you ever tried not blinking?" Amy retorted, as Katy tugged on the younger girl's arm, pulling her behind her.

"It's me you want, alright? She's just a human. She's nothing. But me? You can feel it, right? My timeline...you could feed off that for years" Katy announced.

"What are you doing?" Amy frowned, still cowering behind her.

"Saving your life" Katy whispered, taking a step forward.

"You leave her alone. And you take me" Katy offered, as Amy reached out to grab onto her hand.

"No! No, you can't!" Amy insisted, but Katy shrugged her grip off.

Suddenly, they could hear banging from outside the dropship, alongside muffled shouting. Amy was racing toward the door, letting out a sigh of relief when she recognised one of the voices as the Doctor's.

"Katy, Are you alright? Amy, what's happening?" The Doctor called out, as the girls could hear the familiar sound of the sonic screwdriver.

"Doctor, it's coming out of the television!" Amy cried, in a shaky voice.

"Don't take your eyes off it. Keep looking. It can't move if you're looking. Dammit, deadlocked The whole system. I can't turn it off from out here" They could hear the Doctor mutter.

"Help us! Katy's offering herself to it!" Amy warned him.

"What?! Katy! What the hell are you doing?" The Doctor shouted, in a panicked tone.

"Better than it killing us both" Katy said, feeling her eyes beginning to water.

"No! No, don't you dare! Just...just let me think. The screen. Can you turn it off?" The Doctor asked.

"I pulled out the damn plug! It just stayed on, the angel must be powering it itself" Katy explained, as Amy rushed over to the other side of the dropship and grabbed the controller.

"It just keeps switching back on" Amy sighed, when she tried to turn the screen off.

"Amy, I want to try something. Come stand here. No blinking" Katy murmured, as Amy nodded, taking her place.

Allowing herself a few blissful moments to blink, Katy's eyes darted around the room for something to use, finding a bulky first aid kit at the back of the dropship. She was quick to grab the object and hurled it through the air, where it crashed into the screen, smashing it right down the middle. Amy let out a cheer, thinking it would have stopped the Weeping Angel. The smile immediately fell from her face when she saw despite the screen now barely functional, the angel remained in the room with them.

"What's it going to do to us?" Amy whimpered, as Katy went back to stand protectively in front of her.

"Nothing. Look, when it takes me...that should drain its power. Enough for you to get out. Just get ready to run" Katy told her.

"No! Katy, don't!" She heard the Doctor scream, as he banged his fists on the door.

"I'm sorry. I've got no choice" Katy insisted, pushing Amy away from her.

"Katy, not the eyes. Look at the Angel but don't look at the eyes" River's voice warned, causing Katy's forehead to wrinkle.

"Why? Why!" Katy exclaimed, realising that she had been looking right into the Weeping Angel's eyes for the last few seconds.

"The eyes are not the windows of the soul. They are the doors. Beware what may enter there" The Doctor's muffled voice went on, as ice ran through Katy's veins.

"What...what will enter?" Katy asked, in a scared tone.

"Doctor, what did you say?" Amy called out.

"Don't look at the eyes!" The Doctor repeated.

"No, about images. What did you say about images?" Amy questioned, an idea forming in her mind.

"Whatever holds the image of an Angel, is an Angel" The Doctor told her, as Amy took a step forward, holding the controller out.

"Okay, hold this...One, two, three, four!" Amy said, pressing down the pause button just as the tape loop returned to the start.

The screen suddenly turned to static, as the image of the Weeping Angel glitched before disappearing entirely. Katy stumbled back against the wall, watching as the screen finally turned to black, realising they had made it. She ran a shaky hand down her face, thinking for sure they were both about to die. The Doctor was racing into the dropship a second later as the door swung open, with River following closely behind him.

"I froze it. There was a sort of blip on the tape and I froze it on the blip. It wasn't the image of an Angel anymore. That was good, yeah? It was, wasn't it? That was pretty good" Amy ranted, with a slight smirk.

"You're a freaking genius, Amy Pond" Katy told her, making the younger girl's grin grow wider.

The Doctor was standing in front of Katy in the blink of an eye, looking her over for injuries, before reaching out to cup her cheek for a moment. He was then pulling her into a tight hug, his arms wrapping around her shoulders as she all but collapsed against him. Her hands came up to grip his jacket, needing something to ground her, as he dropped his face into the crook of her neck.

"You're fine" He murmured, as she gave a shaky nod.

"I'm fine" She repeated, feeling him hold onto her a little tighter.

Silently, River reached out to grab the Doctor's sonic screwdriver that was still clasped in his hand, before looking away from the pair's embrace. She then walked over to use the device to shut down the screen for good, just in case the angel decided to come back. She kept her eyes averted to the ground when she had done her job, not wanting to intrude on the pair's moment.

"River, hug Amy" The Doctor announced.

"Why?" Amy frowned.

"Because I'm busy" The Doctor replied, swaying Katy from side to side a little, as a small laugh left her lips.

"Oh, charming" Amy huffed, but accepted the warm hug from River Song, nonetheless.
