"I said ENOUGH!"
Without any warning, ice had shot out of Elsa's hand and large shards of it had blocked the guests who either screamed or murmured in fright. Elsa looked over at how shocked Anna was at the sudden impact. Not horrified...only shocked. But then she saw the look on the other guests' faces. They were scared and appalled, the Duke of Weselton in particular as he backed away and huddled towards his men, gazing at Elsa in disgust.
"Sorcery." The Duke whispered, almost like a hiss.
"Elsa..."
Elsa, distraught, had looked at Anna as she stared back at her. Her eyes full of concern and sadness. But she could also see the slight glint of horror reflect in her orbs. Anna made a move to approach but Elsa moved over towards the door, her hand already on the handle. She tried so long to avoid Anna seeing what she truly was and now it was too late. She couldn't stay here another minute. She didn't want to hurt Anna. She could feel the knob starting to become cold. The moment she noticed, she quickly opened the door and fled, not hearing her sister call out to her.
Elsa ran out of the palace only to be greeted by other citizens of Arendelle as they cheered for her. Elsa looked around and around, she felt like she was being cornered. Snowflakes began to form on both her hands. She looked at the huge crowd and then back to the palace. Her heart was beating rapidly, she could hear it pounding inside her ears. She looked for any way to sneak past the crowd but there wasn't any path. She was trapped. Elsa began panting, her eyes widening. A woman holding her baby moved towards her and gazed at her worriedly.
"Your Majesty? Are you all right?" The woman asked in a soft, sweet tone.
Elsa saw that the baby was reaching his small hands out to her. She quickly moved away but then had bumped into a nearby fountain. She grabbed onto the edge to maintain her balance only for the flowing water to be turned into ice, causing the cheering crowd to gasp loudly. Before Elsa could open her mouth to say anything, she turned and saw the duke and his men coming out the door, charging towards her.
"There she is! Stop her!" The Duke called out, angrily.
"Please, just stay away from me. Stay away!" Elsa demanded.
Again, without warning, another blast of magic had shot out of Elsa's hand, causing the staircase to turn into ice as the crowd screamed and gasped again and causing the Duke and his men to fall to the ground.
"Monster...Monster!" The Duke shouted, pointing over at Elsa.
Elsa turned back to the crowd. They only moved away from her, including the woman and her baby who was now crying. Everyone gazed at her accusingly. There was nothing here for her in Arendelle now. She had to leave. Finally finding an opening, she ran through the crowd and didn't look back.
Elsa ran and ran. She heard Anna's voice in the distance behind her. She looked towards the river. She could try to go across with her magic but Anna was getting so close. She looked towards the other way and could see the dock and ships. She could sail away from Arendelle. Some other kingdom or place where she'd never be found.
Elsa turned and ran over to the docks. Much to her relief, she couldn't hear Anna's voice anymore. When she made it to the port, she saw all of the ships. Many had different sails and carvings. She wondered which of them could take her to the furthest place from Arendelle. She then laid her eyes on a well-sized ship with colors that matched a mariposa. The sail which usually gave an indication of where the ship was sailing to was unknown to her. Elsa saw a nearby docker and went over to him.
"Excuse me?"
"Yes, your Majesty?"
"Where is this ship going to?"
"Oh. It will be sailing towards the beautiful country that is Colombia. Many wonderful mountains and streets. The crew is to give offerings of Arendelle towards its people." The docker explained.
"May I come along?" Elsa asked, looking hopeful.
"It is a rough voyage, Your Majesty. And it's no telling when the ship will be back. Can you handle it?" The docker asked.
Elsa looked over at the palace. She frowned and tears began to pool in her eyes. Could she really leave the only home she'd ever known? She spent many great days in Arendelle as a child but...the rest of her years locked away in her room, living in fear what people would think of her or do to her if they found out about her powers. Now they knew...And she was shunned and thought as nothing but someone who would only make things worse for the kingdom. That wasn't a life for her and she could never face Anna. She was going to eventually be like all the others. It was only a matter of time. Gone was the Queen of Arendelle. Now there was only herself and...that was alright with her. Elsa wiped away at her eyes then turned back to the docker and nodded.
"I will be alright. I want to go." Elsa said, firmly.
The docker nodded and shouted to one of the sailors to lower down the gangway for Elsa. Once it was down to her level, Elsa had stepped onto it. She held her breath, hoping it would not turn to ice. She mentally sighed in relief when that did not happen. She exhaled and her body began to slowly relax. Perhaps she could learn how to control her powers after all. There had to be some way. Now smiling, she had continued walking and had made it up to the ship.
The ship's anchor was brought up and the sails had opened. Elsa went over to the railing and looked at the palace. Wherever she was going, this was going to be her future. She didn't know what would happen once she was there but whatever was waiting for her, she was ready. As long as she kept her powers hidden until she learned how to use them properly, she could change for the better. Her new life was out there and she was ready to claim it.
