Heyall. Back again and hoping I don't get reported. I might move to AO3 if I do, but I am hoping to stay here. Hope you enjoy.
By the way, I am now on Wattpad. Visit me there and you may find some of my... exclusive lemons. (Basically, stuff that got kicked off of this site.)
Also, lemon ahead. Viewer discretion advised.
The sun had not yet risen though the crowd had formed in the streets. The killer whom he had gotten to know well was being carried to the executioner's block. His sword was sharp; his hands were ready. But even if he could call the killer a friend now, he was far from willing to renounce justice for just this one man. Just like the many men and women before him. He had seven to do today. All by beheading with the sword. He had sharpened three blades for them. It was merciful in a cruel sense. If one blade were to dull, then the next would be ready.
Looking out, the grey shrouded Executioner stood tall as the crowd cheered for justice. The seven guilty were carted to the block. As the cart stopped, the banana guards readied their weapons and forced the guilty near the block where they waited. The first would be a candy woman who killed her husband. She was caught in an affair and to stop her husband from reporting she murdered him. But an unlikely witness would be the death of her.
Before she was escorted to the block, the crowed went silent as the fanfare of Princess Bonnibel Bubblegum announced her presents followed by a herald. The Executioner looked up at the beautiful creature. She was fare and just to all her people, and to hold these executions were of no pleasure to her. Still, she was not willing to let injustice slide lest her kingdom become a haven of the lawless. The Executioner knew this. He had known nothing but this craft for all the years of his life. Through it, he had even gotten to know the royal quite well.
She placed both her hands up to quiet her people. "Citizens of the Candy Kingdom," She began, "These seven before you have committed heinous acts against you, your family, and your princess. I, as the Candy Kingdom's ruler, with my jury, have found these guilty of their charges. My herald shall read them as their name is called."
The Executioner picked up his first blade as the woman wept. Her family was there, as was the family she had betrayed. They wept though the latter had also some who glared at her with tearful eyes. Both said a goodbye and in some ways made peace if it were still within reach.
"Mirabel Taffington!" Peppermint Butler called and read off her charges. "You are hereby banished from the kingdom forthwith under pain of death for murder and adultery."
She cried as she was forced to walk the steps. Lest a spear skewer her. The Executioner offered his hand, and she gratefully took it as he helped her up the steps and to her place. "Though I was wrong in my doing, and I am to pay for it. I was glad to meet you… Executioner."
He nodded with a smile and replied, "Be at peace, Mirabel. This will be quick, I promise."
She gratefully returned a nod and waited for the next step. Peppermint Butler then asked, "Does the defendant have any last requests?"
She quivered, realizing there was no escape, and she was now to face her doom. But she managed a few words the Executioner could hear. "Give to my family all I own. Let my in-laws have the money." The Executioner relayed the information to Peppermint Butler and Peppermint Butler told a scribe who wrote it down. Finally, the drums sounded, and the Executioner helped her to her knees then softly set her little head on the block. She sobbed as the drums got louder and shut her eyes tightly as she felt the blade line up to her neck. She was but second from death. the drums rolled, the family sobbed louder, the crowd cheered for justice, and Princess Bubblegum watched sadly as yet another poor soul would soon meet her demise.
The Executioner lifted his blade. Did he have second thoughts? Perhaps. He always had second thought of the lives he would take. Knowing each by name, and being their comfort and caretaker was taxing on him. But he was used to these feeling by now, and never gave in to them. His blade was over his head. The woman sobbed louder and all the sounds around him mingled with it. screaming to wait, sobbing to get it over with; drumming to anticipate the drop. The blade was above his head. He counted as he always did.
One. She cried in regret, suddenly apologizing for every wrongdoing she had done. but the crowed cheered and drums rolled.
Two. The family cried for her. They begged that there could be some reconsideration. But the crowed cheered and the drums rolled.
Three. The Executioner, with all his might, swung his blade down, quick, clean, and precise. The blade et her neck. There was little resistance to the solid, sharp, weighted blade. It cut clean and the head fell into the basket. The drums stopped but the crowed still cheered. Then there was silence. The Executioner let the body fall then the filling spilt. He motioned for the guards to carry her body off to the cart then the next would come. He charges read aloud, his peace made, and his head would roll as the rest had.
The execution was done. It was all he knew. And he had been this grim performer for some time now. The next five were charged with treason or intersection. It was common that Princess Bubblegum would have to quell the occasional rebellion. Though she was a good ruler to most, some opposed her leadership. But it wasn't just in the Candy Kingdom. Others from outside would look to her throne or perhaps to those who neighbored her. The Executioner served them all, and the people loved him for it.
The last of his victims was the man he thought of. The killer of many, and not just in the Candy Kingdom. He had killed in Breakfast Kingdom. He had killed in Hotdog Kingdom. He had even killed in the Jungle Kingdom. And were it not for the Executioner's "extra duties" perhaps they'd have never caught him at all. Strangely, had the killer picked up a better hobby, he wouldn't have been so bad a character.
The Executioner watched as the crowed was ever thirsty for his blood. The block was already quite a mess, and the heads and bodies were cleaned off, but the residue was everywhere. Princess Bubblegum couldn't wait another day for this one to come to justice.
"Executioner," The killer nodded with a smile. This seemed like another day to him. It gave The Executioner a bad feeling.
"Ash," the Executioner nodded back. He was silent but staring at the coldblooded man. Still, a part of the Executioner would find himself missing their rather interesting conversations. But again, he was no stranger to disappointment in this craft. He was as ready as any other time to deliver this one to the Nether where he'd be sorted by the next judge.
"You got a good blade ready for me?" Ash asked with a grin and a wink. How peculiar. One was not usually so ready to die… Unless…
The Executioner gave him a nod and pulled the third and final clean blade. "As promised."
Ash chuckled, "Great, then let's get this over with. Don't take all day like the others, okay? I gotta few words with Death I need to share."
Executioner knew now. He thought it but these words confirmed it. Executioner sighed and turned to his horse. A blade rested there that he used on rare occasion. And this was such an occasion. Peppermint Butler was still reading off a long list of crimes as Executioner departed to reach his horse then come back with the sheathed blade. Ash wasn't paying any attention since he was busy cleaning his nails as Peppermint Butler read on. He occasionally laughed to himself as he remembered a crime mentioned and it's story. The Executioner returned; the blade left against the wall for now.
"Do you have any final requests?" Peppermint Butler finally asked.
Ash took a deep breath and hummed. "Mm, how about… a statue. And on the inscription, wright all that mumbo-jumbo you mentioned, and we'll call it good."
Princess Bubblegum sighed and shook her head. "I'm not doing that for you, Ash. Executioner, bring justice to this fiend."
The crowed had never cheered loudest then this moment. Ash scoffed. "Pbt, touchy." He was forced to his knees then placed on the block. "Euch, it still feels wet on here! That's gross! You couldn't have afforded to clean…" He looked over and saw The Executioner's red blade. His eyes widened and he sat up quickly. "Wait! How did you…!"
The guards tackled him and began to wrestle him to the block. getting his hands in shackles and his head into the block that doubled as a stock. He protested and tried to let off spells to his defense, but the guards wouldn't let him speak. They placed a gag in his mouth and secured him to the block.
"I've been doing this a long time, remember?" Executioner said to him with a sigh. "I hate doing it like this, it's messier this way.
Ash continued to protest but the Executioner readied his blade again. The drums began to roll as he lifted it over his head.
One. Ash moved and tried to break free. The crowed demanded his death. The executioner stared at him. aiming at the best place to strike in the stocks his victim was locked in.
Two. He watched as Ash was trying to mutter a coherent spell but was disappointed time and time again as nothing happened.
Three. The Executioner's blade struck at Ash's neck, and he was silent. The crowed subsided with a cheer and the killer was o more. Justice was done. The Executioner was finished for the day. He looked at his red blade as the blood from his victim soaked into it. He stared at the head of Ash and sighed.
Princess Bubblegum stood to her feet and addressed her people. "This concludes the public executions. I hope that this day will be remembered so that their crimes shall never be repeated. Farwell, my humble citizens, and go in peace."
The crowed dispersed. The Executioner sighed as the final body was cleaned up. A guard placed a bucket, rag, and mop on the platform. "Just put them on the cart when you're done. One us will be staying to wait for you."
He nodded with another sigh. "I know the drill."
He got to work right away. This was the worst part of his job. After he had sliced seven people to death, he had to clean up the mess. It was only right. His hands were already bloody. Literally and figuratively. It was why he had to accept the position. His family had carried this profession for generations. Ten to be exact. And the very first of them was selected because of his crimes. It was death or become the executioner. Since then, his bloodline, tainted with murder, was cursed to carry out his hell bound profession.
He mopped and scrubbed the cobblestone and the executioner's block. the water would all be swept down a drain. But once it was clean, he dumped the rest over the stone to rinse it off and call the work done. he placed the bucket, mop, and rag on the wagon with the bodies. The guard sighed. "Finally."
"If you wanted me to finish earlier, you should have helped," sighed the Executioner.
The banana guard shook his head. "Uh… nah, I could wait. I'll just get these to the undertaker. Bye."
He trotted off on the wagon and the executioner scoffed and shook his head. He sheathed his swords and placed them on his horse. But then Peppermint Butler arrived.
"Executioner," He addressed with a smile. He was one of the few who would. "If you could be so kind, The princess has a message for you."
The delivered the rolled-up paper sealed by the princesses ring. The Executioner took it and gave a nod to the butler then opened it and read it quietly to himself. He sighed. If this information got out she'd be in more trouble than most any criminal could achieve. To even permit the executioner to do what she was asking... It was a scandal that could dethrone her. He had told her this but… she didn't seem to care. He burned the letter in the nearest brazier. Thoroughly.
"Thank you, Pep, I will report to the antechamber as soon as I can."
He bowed. "Splendid. I will let her grace know. Goodbye, Executioner."
The Executioner gave a nod and turned to his horse. He checked the straps to the blades and escorted the horse to the jail where he put them away. There were no executions tomorrow, so he had no reason to sharpen them today. He simply put the three back and strapped the red blade with the cross hilt to his back. He returned the horse to the stables where it was reluctantly received. Then he walked his way to the castle.
Though he was cheered for on the mornings of executions and reveled as the embodiment of justice to the wicked, he was also shunned and deemed untouchable to the people. They would quickly scurry to the opposite side of the street and refuse to speak to him. Many refused to even look at him lest they be caught by his bloody hands and tainted like he was. He and his bloodline.
It was not even customary to greet him with respect. If one wished to give him such, they would toss him a bag of coin or stay out of his way. Of course, his coin was hardly worth anything to them. it was blood money. Bad for business. But still acceptable under the right merchant. Choose Goose was such a merchant. He cared little about where he got money. And thus, it was easy to buy from him. However, If the Executioner was every to need produce or food to eat he would have to enforce a tax on the merchants who had his needs in stock. It was commonly called the Executioners tax and he invoked it when he liked. It was the law. But he wasn't permitted to take anything he wanted. He had a limit from each stand that he was permitted to receive. Anymore would have to be given willingly as a donation.
Having reached the steps of the castle, a guard opened the gate and called through the hall, "The royal executioner is on his way!" This was customary too. The call would go out and he would be invited into the antechamber of the royal who invited him. he was permitted nowhere else in the castle. That is, by law of course, lest he taint anything he touches and make it unclean or unfit to be used by the innocent.
He waited at the steps then Peppermint Butler came out with a smile. "Aw, the royal executioner returns. Please, come in."
He entered and followed the butler in until he was told to stop and wait. All presence inside the antechamber who was not of the guard fled the room and turned away from him. Such a thing usually could hurt the esteem of others, but he grew up being treated like this. It was customary to him.
Peppermint Butler returned and said with a voice echoing through the chamber, "Leave us, please."
The curtains closed, again as was custom, and the guards left. This wasn't actually normal to any executioner… except him. The princess stepped out of a door on his left and called in a quiet voice. "Psst! This way."
He looked around and Peppermint Butler, with a smile, disappeared form the room as well. The Executioner sighed and ran to the princess. She led him through the secret passages until they had reached her room. She opened to hidden door and let him in then hugged him. The contact was hardly customary to him, unlike most everything else. He was sort of surprised by it really. So, he pushed her away.
"Princess, you know what could happen to you if we keep doing this," He said in a whisper.
"I know, Finn," She said rubbing her arm, "But I can't help how I feel!"
"Don't say my name," he urged her. It was just as worse she even uttered his dead name. Both would result in her immediate removal and eventual death if it were ever found out what she was doing with him. Her tainted soul was supposed to mean her land was cursed and the blood of all his bloodline had spilt was no on her as well as him. But she did not care. She saw no result of this curse since they were young, and she refused to believe that such silly notions that were put in place to shun him were truly of any merit. Still, the effects of if they were discovered would be very real. Only her most trusted ever knew about her scandalous behavior.
"I am not afraid of it, Finn," She said, drawing near to him again. "I'll use it if I like. Now…" Her hands reached up, "To see that face of yours…"
He stopped her. "No… please. PB, I'm serious… we can't… Not anymore. I know part of this is my fault and… I'm sorry."
"I'm not. when will you accept that this is how I feel, and I don't want it any other way? Please, Finn."
He eased his grip off her wrists, and she slid through it to reach for his cowl and shroud. She untiled the shroud and uncovered his face then pulled back his hood. His shortish blond hair was matted by the sweat of the warm morning sun and standing on ceremony wasn't making it any cooler on the block. he was young in appearance still. His face a bit scruffy but still as handsome as she remembered.
"You get more handsome every time I see you," She smiled.
Finn chuckled softly to himself. "And you haven't changed a bit, have you?"
She shook her head and waited for him to close the distance between them. Finn leaned in and did as she was hopefully anticipating. Undoing strap and button, she tried to remember how to remove his cowl and coat. It was oddly the most complicated thing he could wear. However, when he was preforming his duties the uniform proved quite versatile. But there were so many different things secured to his body that she didn't know where to start. So, he helped her. Starting with his sword. Then his cowl and his shroud wrapped around his neck. His coat was next, and vest, then his belt of many straps pouches. At this time, she knew how to carry on herself, so he helped her with her dress instead. Unlike him, she didn't wear as much. She only had to wear the dress of her royal position. And her crown. The latter she had removed some time ago. But the dress was undone by Finn.
Princess Bubblegum let the dress fall to the ground and she lifted his shirt after undoing his trousers. As soon as he was sitting on the bed, his boots were kicked off and she had pinned him to the bed. "You know," She started with a big grin on her face and as her arms reached for her bra. "I am supposed to be talking about an assignment for you."
"More executions?" He asked as he up a little to worship her chest.
She moaned and encouraged him to continue but tried to keep her mind on the important things as well. "Yes! Mmm, y-yes… but… of a special… kind. Oh yes…"
Finn turned her over and continued to suckle on her breast and fondle the other. She moaned even louder as his rough, dirty hands, started tracing her curves and he began kissing her neck. "So, a message?"
"No!" She had to quiet herself, "No, not that kind. Mmm right there… yes," She gripped his hair as he kissed her sensitive neck and stuck his hand into her panties. "Fffuu… She wants it done discreetly."
The other part of his job. Finn chuckled and traced kisses down her body. "Who?" He stopped at her breasts again as he fingered her and sucked and licked at them more. Princess Bubblegum gripped the sheets above her head to make it feel like she was helpless against him. she bit down and suddenly relaxed. "Did you just finish…?" Finn asked.
"You haven't touched me like that in two months… what did you think would happen?" She asked. "Don't stop now, we haven't even begun." She smirked sensually and wrapped her legs around his body. He slipped down and gripped at her panties. As he slid them off, her legs came together to make things easier.
"You still haven't told me who I'm executing and who for." He didn't even give her a chance to when his plunged his tongue into her entrance.
"Ahh!" She let out a slightly loud scream but not enough to alarm a guard. Even if his service was unexpected. "It's… Marceline!" She gripped his head and wrapped her legs around it so he could get in deeper. "Right there… don't stop… I'm coming again!" She gyrated and released her hold them relaxed.
Finn wiped his mouth and kissed a sensitive spot on her womanhood. "Marceline? When does she ever do quiet?" He lined himself up to her and waited for the princess to recover enough to reply.
"She wants you… to kill a member of her father's court… treason. It's been approved. He must be killed quietly so that when he's discovered, they know that they aren't untouchable. I will give you a letter of pardon from them. and a letter of condemnation for the official. Leave the letter on his nightstand when he is dead."
Finn chuckled. "I thought she hated her father."
PB lifted her legs and hugged him then lined up his member to her womanhood. "Only when he's king."
Finn thrusted quick and stuck halfway in. PB muffled herself in a pillow and said nothing as he mercilessly thrusted into her. Her eyes rolled back, and she continued to yelp in her pillow. "I can… report… today if she wants," Finn said as he thrusted.
"No!" PB nearly screamed, "No, I need you to finish first. She wants you tomorrow."
"You permitting her sleep with me as well?" He teased with a grin as he began thrusting deeper and more powerfully.
"I mean…!" She quickly corrected. "She want to… meet you… to…tomorrow!" She threw her pillow to the side and hugged him trying to go faster. He complied and stood up with her in his hold.
"Was that… jealousy…, your grace?" He teased between breaths.
The princess felt his member leave her. she looked down and realigned it then continued. "If they want a scandal too… they can be my guest," She replied and went back to moaning. "Oh glob, your good at this…! Not like they can handle you anyway."
Finn put her back on the bed, and arched over her, "I aim only to please, your majesty."
PB moaned and let go of him to lay flat on the bed as he pounded her. "Thoroughly… pleased… so pleased… right… now…" She started to gyrate, and a stream of fluid left her in spirts. "Oh grod!" She huffed as he slowed down then picked up speed, "Wait…wait…! Let me rest! Let me rest! I can't… take it…anymore!"
She gripped the sheets as he asked her. "In or out?"
"In…" She responded quickly. He thrusted powerfully into her and froze as a warmth filled her up. She felt a second thrust and the same thing follow it. she hadn't felt this full in a while. "So… mathematical… You've gotten better."
"No," He chuckled, "You just haven't done it in a while." Finn blew out through pursed cheeks then stood up and got to gathering his things.
"Wait, your leaving?" Princess Bubblegum asked in disbelief, "Already?"
Finn finished with his trousers then replied, "I can't stay here. I am endangering you as long as I am here. If you screamed a little louder, a few guard would have come right through that door, and we'd have been history. Not taking any chances, especially for you."
PB sighed. He was right. But it wouldn't have hurt to bask in afterglow for a little while. "You're all business, Finn. As usual."
"I'm the executioner now," Finn said securing his coat, "My duty is to the kingdoms of Ooo, not just you. We both vowed to put that first. The letters, where are they?" Finn asked.
PB opened a drawer and handed them to him. "The letter of pardon, should things not go according to plan, is white. The black one is the sentence of death. his name and other info is in there just deliver the rolled-up paper to his nightstand and kill him as you are tasked… your sure you can't stay… just a short while?"
"I don't know a princess that has had me in her antechamber this long," Finn smirked He covered his face with a shroud and tied it then covered his head with the cowl. "I have my assignment; I will do as I am told. What about payment for this morning's executions?"
"Peppermint Butler will see you on your way out. Take the passage back." She opened it with a push of a button on her nightstand, "As far as anyone knows, your still there. And he's made sure of it. Come back soon." Finn bowed and latched his sword to his back. "And don't be doing her any favors! She knows who you belong to."
Finn chuckled, "Does she know that extend to the bed?"
"I wouldn't know, but you'll tell her if she does, now won't you?" She said as more of a command then a question.
"Yes, of course," he replied and turned around. "I thought you'd be jealous."
"Shut up!"
Finn laughed and continued down the passage. The entrance closed behind him and after traversing to the other side he managed to open it and find the butler as the princess said. His payment received and his next assignment in his pouch, he was ready to leave.
"Executioner departing!" Shouted the butler. The call had echoed form guard to guard as they returned to the antechamber and assumed their post. Finn left the castle, and the guards closed the gate behind him. He chuckled as he pulled out a more detailed letter of his orders. He read them as he went on, and the people continued to make way for him. The executioner was on duty.
