I'm tired, so goddamn tired.

It's been three months since me and Liz split up, I'd be lying if I told you that I took it well. I guess it's what i get for keeping my other half a secret from her for two years. Exams are killing me this week, and Professor Keeley isn't making it any better, I feel like I'm going insane, it's as if the universe is out to get me.

So here I am, Brooklyn, sitting on a dingy building two thousand feet high, it's Christmas eve, the rats are scuttering across the snowy genorators and pipes... How did the rats get up here? Of all the days Max had to juice up at Oscorp's new shiny power grid, it had to be the day of the Avengers get-together, the one place I feel somewhat welcome. I love the tower, it's like a little town up there, everybody's doing their own thing, Tony's working on the IRIS Project (It's a satellite system that spans our solar system), Nat is doing... well... I don't really know, Thor, the guy's a god so he's usually busy up in Asgard, and even some of the new members, Ms. Marvel, Robbie, Kate, And what's her name? Moon Girl. They've all got stuff goin' on and here I am sitting on a cold rooftop eating a soggy taco.

Am I the problem? Is my luck the result of some fucked up thing I did when I was a teenager or something? In a world with gods, demons, superbeings... I wouldn't be surprised if some witch I fought back in my High-School days put a hex on me: "You shall never be happy again you insect!" knowing myself back then, I probably corrected her: "Actually, it's arachnid but I'll give you an E for effort."... God I was such an idot back then.

I saved a kid on the way up here, little guy was about to jump from a building to another building, he would've probably made the jump too, I was never that brave when I was his age, stayed cooped up in my room reading licensed X-Men comics, it's still cool that I got to meet Xavier in person, his head was even shinier than I imagined. Anyways, I saved the kid, swung em' back to his mom, she was bawling her eyes out, apparently, he'd been practicing for days so he could take up the mantle of good ol' Spidey when I retire. I almost pity him, if only he knew the amount of college debt that would come with it, he'd seriously reconsider. Still, it's nice to know I have fans, but it's scary, having that impact, the kid almost died, and it technically would've been my fault.

Hopefully I can spread some Christmas cheer over at Rykers Island, I'll stay camped at the gate in case Max or any other members of the six wanna shut down the city's power right before 1:00 like last year. After tonight, I'm going on vacation, maybe to Hawaii, or Canada, heard they're nice there.

Oh great, someone's behind me.
