DISCLAIMER: I do NOT own Danny Phantom, Beetlejuice, or The Little Mermaid (yes, this is a mega crossover story lol). I also do NOT own any of the songs you'll see in this story (yes, it's also a musical lol). The only items owned by me are the original characters and ideas.

Also, I'm sorry in advance. I personally like to ship Danny and Sam, but for this story...it's Danny x OC.

And another thing, I'm going off the musical version of Beetlejuice and how Alex Brightman looked as the character of Betelgeuse. I haven't seen the movie version or the musical version, I just know what the musical version looks like. So I'm going with the Broadway version. Just thought I'd clarify that.

Anyway, enjoy!

~1 month AFTER Disasteroid...~

This couldn't have been happening.

Everything was going great. They were on their way to graduating high school and were on the verge of adulthood. Danny was even planning on proposing to his girlfriend and best friend at some point in the near future after they've settled down from the hype of graduation.

But as his dumb luck would have it...Sam went missing.

"Sam!" Danny called out, flying through the sky as Tucker ran around the city below. "Sam!"

"Sam, where are you?!" Tucker called as well, turning down different alleys and hidden places behind buildings. But so far, nothing. "Danny, anything up there?!"

"Not..." Danny stopped, frozen in place, as he stared out to the park. "Oh, God..." Tucker followed the gaze as he watched Danny fly at full speed toward the park. He had no idea what was about to come or what Danny had found, but he ran anyway, hoping that maybe there was a clue as to where their friend was.

...

But this portion...doesn't end happily.

(Song: "Prologue: Invisible" - Beetlejuice the Musical) [Semi-lyric change and pretend it's a boy singing the song]

~3 days later...~

The crowd gathered around the coffin, ready to lower it into the earth as the Priest held open his Bible. He gave a look to the parents of the deceased, and then, with one glance...he saw Danny, head down as he listened.

PRIEST: In times like these, we have no words. We have only each other. Today, we come together to mourn the passing of Samantha Manson. Devoted girlfriend of Danny. Beloved daughter to Mr and Mrs. Manson. Scripture tells us: "Sorrow not, for we do not walk alone."

Danny looked up from his feet for a few moments before walking up and placing a black rose on the coffin. A tear fell down his cheek as memories of him and Sam together that last month flooded his brain. He wished he would have been able to protect her or save her in time.

DANNY: You're invisible when you're sad./Clocks tick and phones still ring./The world carries on like mad./And nobody sees a thing./Whispering behind their hands/lost for kind words to say./Nobody understands/and everyone goes away./Grownups wanna fix things, when they can't it only fills them with shame./So they just look away./Is it being greedy to need somebody to see me/and to say my name?

Everyone said their goodbyes at this before walking off, leaving poor Danny by himself. Though, Tucker stood back some to let his best friend grieve.

DANNY: Seems when you lose your friend/no one turns off the sun./Folks carry on and that's that./You're invisible when you're sad.

BETELGEUSE: Holy crap! A ballad already!? And such a bold departure from the original source material!

(End of the song)

"What source material, Mr. Betelgeuse?" A voice asked, making the man with green hair look to his right. A girl with silver hair, smiling at him with a clipboard and pen, was floating beside him. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose real quick before continuing to look at him.

"Never mind that, Octavia," Betelgeuse sighed, floating down to the grass floor from the tree he perched on with Octavia following behind. "Is anyone still here?" She looked around, seeing Danny and Tucker at the limo they drove in, just standing there in sorrow and grief.

"Just those two," She said, pointing her pen toward them. "But, I think they don't notice you."

"I'm shocked raven-head hasn't noticed yet," Betelgeuse declared before walking forward, passing the fresh grave of Sam Manson and heading toward a different one. This one had a taller tombstone with a sculpted angel etched onto the marble surface. The years of 1971-1991 were engraved on the cool stone and words 'A wonderful wife and friend' were written below it. But the name was what Betelgeuse came to see.

Alison Morgan-Shaggoth

"Hi, Ali," He said, making a black rose appear out of thin air and place it on the grave. "Sorry I haven't been here for a while. Been busy with other things."

This woman was the only person who loved him for him and didn't care that he was some kind of lunatic demon. She showed him that she could love no matter who you were and that she cared for those in need. And when she met him, he was in need of someone to talk to. She listened to everything he had to say about his life with the Deetz and Maitlands, as well as his time in the Netherworld. He just poured his soul out to her the entire night and she listened intently, keeping him calm and collected as his anger would flare up at times.

And that was the night he knew that the girl he just met, was the girl he wanted to marry to break his curse.

However, that night also led to one thing after another until...he became a father 9 months later. He couldn't have been happier to be a father with a woman so pure and wholesome as the mother. Especially since they were just getting ready to wed the following night. No preachers or priests. Just them two with someone he knew from the Netherworld officiating the whole ceremony.

But, as luck would have it...Alison died the morning of their wedding in a robbery.

He waited patiently for her to arrive as a ghost so they could raise their child together. But she never showed up. Even after her coffin was in the grave, she didn't return to him. So, out of anger and hurt, he forbade himself to ever mention the human world to his child, for it was cruel and corrupt and full of evil. And he was from the Netherworld. He had then taken his daughter and left the world above behind forever.

But this was the first time he was back in 16 years.

"I miss you," He said, patting the top of the stone. "I wish you would have come to me after death. We could have been one big, happy family. The three of us." He sighed, thinking of his little girl and grinned. "Bea's doing good," He said, making Octavia tense up at the mention of her friend's name. "She's becoming a gorgeous young woman. She looks a lot like you." He scoffed in amusement. "I'm sure some ghost guy will fall for her in no time. And when he does...I'll SMASH HIM TO PIECES!"

"Uh, sir?" Octavia said, gulping down the nerves. "Not the place."

"Right, right," He said flippantly, until he remembered something. "Speaking of Bea, where is she right now?" He looked at Octavia, making her gulp once again as she tried to keep it hidden as to where her friend was. She knew the truth, she knew her friend was in this world. But she didn't want to tell the man before her.

He's going to freak, She thought as sweat dripped down her face.

"Octavia," She looked up at him, seeing the anger boiling over in his veins. "Where's my daughter?"

"Uh...well..."

(SONG: "The World Above" - The Little Mermaid on Broadway)

With the sun shining overhead in the park, a young ghost girl, unseen by the locals, floated around with a big smile of amusement and awe. Her dreams of being a human on this surface overwhelmed her mind, but with a hint of hope

BEATRICE: This is where I belong/beneath a clear white blue here/I feel completely new here in the world above./It's like my life was wrong/and somehow now at last I'm in/my own skin./Up here in the world above./There's so much light here/light and space/the sun's so bright here/upon my face./It feels so right here/warm as love.

She watched as a couple walked down the path, holding hands. The sight made her smile, eyes sparkling as her green, curly hair blew in the light breeze of Amity Park.

BEATRICE: Life seems to be almost calling to me/from this strange new world above.

(End of the Song)

With a sigh, Beatrice Shaggoth flew above the rest of the city, smiling down at them. No one seemed to have noticed her right off the bat, and no one seemed to care. Ever since the events of Disasteroid, everyone had been living in peace with the ghosts from the Ghost Zone just wandering about, living their best after life amongst them. They haven't even screamed at her presence.

"Oh, what a beautiful..."

"Hey!" She stopped as she heard that demanding voice, frozen in fear as the words of her father came rushing back to her.

"Human are cruel. They will take those you love and tear them apart! Don't trust them," He said one night when she was 5.

But I don't understand how this place could hurt me, She thought before slowly turning around to see a white-haired boy floating there with a forlorn and saddened glint in his eye. The sense of guilt and grief plagued her heart for him, curious as to what had happened to cause such pain. His glowing green eyes captivated her as well, for they matched perfectly with her bright green curls that she called hair.

"Who are you?" He asked, dropping the demand and just staring in surprise. "I don't recognize you." She blushed, butterflies swarming around her stomach as nerves kicked her mind into gear. She's met some cute ghost boys before...but the fireworks this one gave her were real.

"Oh, uh, I'm..." She stuttered, gulping down the nerves and taking a breath. She smiled. "I'm Bea-Juice. I just came to check out your world." He seemed surprised, blinking away the shock. Why was that so hard to believe? She wasn't evil or demented. Yes, her father could be at times, but she'd like to think she had her mother's heart. Her father had even said so in the past.

"Really? You're not here to destroy the city? Or hunt me?" He asked, staring and making Beatrice nod slowly. At first, it seemed like he didn't believe the young ghost. Like he was about to attack no matter what. But, in the end, he sighed with relief and grinned. "Good," He said. "I'm Danny. It's nice to meet you, uh, Bea-Juice," He scrunched his nose at the name, thinking it was silly.

If only you knew who my father was, She thought, giggling at his expression. "Bea is fine," She said, and he grinned again.

"Bea...okay," He said. "You said you wanted to check out Amity Park. I could show you around," Beatrice grinned at his kind gesture, though the sadness that hugged his heart kept her from saying yes...at first. There was just something about him that intrigued her. He was cute, most likely 17, and had a well-built body from who knows what. And he seemed kind, making Beatrice fall head over heels instantly for the ghost boy she just met.

So, with a deep breath, she said: "I would love..." But didn't finish, for the clock struck 10, making her stare in fear and shock. It couldn't have been that late already! She had to get home before her father!

"I'm sorry. But I'll have to pass on that. Rein-check?" She asked, and he nodded, confused as to why she would have to leave so soon. But he didn't have time to question it. "It was nice to meet you, Danny." And with a simple wink, she flew off toward the portal, phasing through walls and doors, and heading straight for her house once she was back in the Ghost Zone.

"Don't be home, don't be home," She repeated to herself, turning around corners and everything until finally finding this big old mansion that her father found years prior to her birth. She quickly flew in through her bedroom window and closed it with the latch of the lock before plopping onto her bed and laying there as the sound of her father's footprints came rushing up to her room.

"BEATRICE!" He yelled, opening the door to her room to find her on the bed, under the covers, asleep. He stared, confused for a moment until Octavia came waltzing inside.

"See? I told you she was home asleep," She whispered. "Now, if it's alright, I'm going to stay the night. We'll see you in the morning." She then shoved Betelgeuse out of Beatrice's room, and closed the door. She sighed with relief as she looked at Beatrice, seeing her giggling as she sat up while the thundering sound of her father's feet diminished around a corner.

"You almost had my head, Bea," Octavia said, walking over.

"I'm sorry," Beatrice giggled out. "I just...had to see the world above. It's so perfect up there! So full of light and love and..."

"Death," Octavia said. "The world above is also full of death."

"Well, yeah. I know that! How do you think most of the ghosts in the Zone show up here?" Octavia gave her a look, one that showed she was either bored, or ready to break Beatrice's neck. Either way, Beatrice didn't pay attention to it. Her mind was too focused on the boy she met today.

Danny.

What a normal name! What a perfect name! Way better than Skulker or Walker or any of the other ghosts she's met in the Ghost Zone. Such a realistic name it was, Danny. Such a wonderful name. And it was forever tattooed on her heart.

Thanks for reading the first chapter. Please, let me know what you guys think so far. I've been toying with this idea for far too long and felt like it needed to finally be put out there, just to see how it does.

If you like it so far, please let me know. If you don't, that's fine, too. I know I can't please everyone.

Now, I haven't even started writing Chapter 2 just yet. But I will when inspiration strikes me for how that chapter could start. If you have ideas, please send them my way. I'll be glad to credit you for it in the story. Thanks in advance.

Anyway, thanks for reading, God bless, and remember: don't just write a story, paint a picture.

Ciao!
