Chapter 10: Making Friends and Patron Mexican Grill

The next day, we all met up at the Carnegie Library in Squirrel Hill to discuss making and keeping friends. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. Prior to the discussion group, we listened to NSYNC and 98 Degrees. "I am so lucky to have so many friends," Carly happily stated. "To help you out with something serious, like your mother's death," Spencer stated. "I miss your mom, too, Carly," Mr. Benson stated. "Our wedding day was one of the happiest days of our life!" "At least my 3 best friends are like my 3 older sisters," Carly stated. "I feel very sorry about our fight from last weekend, Alex," I told Alex. "It's okay," Alex stated. "We all make mistakes sometimes, as we are all human," Max pointed out. "But, the most important part of any friendship is that you forgive and forget," Justin added. "The truth is, I feel very lonely without my roommates," I told everyone. "If it weren't for you, Alex, I would never keep my condo clean or eat healthy food." "That's true, Angel," Alex agreed with me. "Hannah really appreciated my scholarly abilities at her carnival sleepover last night, as I told her about how the SATs are very important because they determine what college you get into. I worked super hard on my SATs, and that is how I got into the University of Pittsburgh following the Commonwealth Institute at Hiram G. Andrews Center!" After our discussion group was over, we headed to Patron Mexican Grill in East Liberty for dinner. We listened to Kate Bush and Lizzo prior to dinner. "I think that discussion on friendship was rather amazing," Sarah stated. "Even best friends can be tempted to do crazy things sometimes, like sneak out into a Sweet 16 party that we are not invited to," I pointed out. "Good thing that James was there to rescue us!" "I felt left out on Halloween back in 4th grade because my classmates were all still trick-or-treating, and I stayed home to help hand out candy," Henri admitted. "Speaking of Halloween, are we going to have a carnival like you showed us that one time?" James asked. "As a matter of fact, we are," I replied. "From October 16 through 25, we will commute to Hillcrest Country Club in Lower Burrell and be elected for raffles, play games, and win prizes, just like Hannah and her friends did last night." "It's good that you can still continue to have fun every day no matter how old you get," James happily stated. "Speaking of which, I am a grown man who still lives with his younger brother, but we can talk more about that at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Kennywood Park next weekend." After we finished eating dinner, it was time for all of us to go home. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
