Chapter 11

AN: Here I am again with another update. Hope you guys enjoy it as always.

Solsparda: Hanzo is much older and more experienced than Summer, it is understandable that she is more optimistic about her views of the world while Hanzo( who mind you was killed, brought back as a revenant, lost his family and clan, and a bunch of other stuff) has more of a realistic and maybe a bit pessimistic view on some things.

Monster King: Thanks man.

Fatswordsman: Jiro is on Hanzo's side and yeah, we will see Summers and Qrow's reactions to Hanzo's fight very soon.

Guest: I'm not a native English speaker but I do try my best. I will fix the mistakes as soon as I can.

Benedict616z: No worries man, hope you got your phone back. Hanzo and Sub-Zero are close, so if he might choose a fake name it might as well be Quai Liang. Im disappointed with the new Mortal Kombat making Quai Liang be Scorpion and Hanzo just some kid who was taken in by Quai Liang. It is interesting from a certain point, one brother being Ice and the other being Fire but still, Scorpion is Hanzo Hasashi and always will be for me.

Guest: I'm glad you like it. Will do.

The Hawaii Demon: I'm happy you like it, Scorpion is also one of my favorite characters as well.

Necros: He just might.

Having little success with their infiltration mission the first night, Qrow and Summer had to return to the club again. For the next week, the team kept returning every night, the two young hunters would pretend to be partygoers while Hanzo, Jiro, and Ciara remained outside as lookouts. Their time together might have been brief but for Hanzo, it was enough to gain useful information on his allies. Things like that Ciara's bad temper was the byproduct of her semblance, even when it wasn't active it worked in some passive manner. She was a smart, capable, and down-to-earth type of person. Hanzo did feel pity for the woman, as once he too had been consumed by rage. Her anger was easier to manage and did not cloud her judgment as his anger once clouded his. To this day he regrets killing the original Sub-Zero, Bi Han, and condemning him to become a creature of shadow known as Noob Saibot.

He learned quite a lot about Jiro considering how much the man likes to talk about himself, everything from where he was born to what food he liked the most. Although the man was not without subtlety.

The two young hunters were among the top Beacon Academy graduates of their generation and were trusted by the academy's headmaster, Professor Ozpin. He had inquired about Professor Ozpin and got some basic information from Jiro, although Hanzo could tell that there were things Jiro was not telling him on purpose, usually by giving a half answer. The huntsman was more careful than people give him credit for. They continued with their task and so far, their luck had changed little. Qrow was in the middle of flirting with a female bartender while Summer was dancing when Ciara's voice was heard from his earpiece.

"Anything to report?" the elder huntress asked. Qrow waited for the bartender to leave to serve a customer. He let out an annoyed groan as he took a sip from his drink.

"We have been coming here every day and so far have nothing. We haven't seen or heard anything about Bisque since we started this mission. I'm really starting to think someone slipped us bad intel," Qrow said, the rest of the team hearing him over the comms.

"I agree with the kid on this one," Jiro chimed in. The leading huntsman was keeping a lookout at the rear of the building, there was nothing of interest to note, just some dumb guards standing around and chatting. This assignment was supposed to be fun, and yet it turned into a glorified bird-watching job. "I'm starting to think the club is a fluke too."

"Maybe Bisque was just busy all week or not in a mood for partying," Summer added her own two cents as she danced. "He is bound to show up eventually."

Hanzo did not say anything, keeping his thoughts to himself as he continued to listen to his allies speak. Patience was a key factor in espionage and infiltration. Just like a tiger who lays in wait for its prey, one must remain patient and observant, ready for anything at any moment. He remembers his first mission, it all feels so long ago now. He remembers the youth he once was, and to tell the truth, even with all of his training he too felt restless, wanting the mission to be over as quickly and smoothly as possible, to prove himself to his clan. Those days have long since passed.

"My gut is telling me that it's all a long shot kiddo," Jiro said. The two hunters continued to keep watch inside the club. Music was on full blast, people were dancing, drinking, hitting on each other, generally having a good time. Then suddenly the music came to a halt, the DJ taking the mic in his hand.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank you all for coming to the Luck of the Mountains tonight! Please give a warm welcome to the best singer in Mistral, the one and only Honey Wine!" the DJ shouted, motioning with his hand towards a woman who joined him on the stage. The woman sure is a beauty, that's something anyone in the club would agree on. She had slightly tanned skin, long wavy honey-colored hair, maroon colored eyes. She wore a stunning sleeveless red dress and high heels. She took the mic from the DJ and turned to the gathered crowd.

"Good evening Luck of the Mountains!" she greeted the people with a big dazzling smile. "I hope you all have a great time tonight. I will start off this evening with one of my personal favorites," she said. soon the music began to play once more and a few seconds later she began to sing. Everyone in the club listened to her singing, Qrow had to admit, she sure knew how to sing like a nightingale. Her singing sure knew how to make a person happy.

"Then it's a good thing we are not trusting your gut on this one," Ciara said. "Look alive people, someone's coming to the club. This might be our guy."

Hanzo's eyes looked to the entrance of the establishment. In front of it, a white luxury car pulled to a stop, and out of it came a man wearing a white suit. He had long black hair tied in a ponytail with his tips being pinkish brown, and by the looks of it, he appeared to be in his thirties. What caught the ninja's attention was that one hand was covered by a white glow, probably trying to hide his cybernetic limb. Looks like their patience has finally been rewarded.

"Target spotted," Hanzo said. "White suit, ponytail, glowed hand. He is entering the club."

"Looks like the intel was sound after all," Ciara said with a hint of smugness in her tone. "Once he is inside it is up to you two to keep an eye on him."

"Shouldn't be too hard, the guy is wearing a white suit. Looks good but a nightmare to clean, especially if you get wine on it," Jiro said, not hiding his amusement.

"Stay vigilante, once he is inside, keep a close eye on him, make sure to remember anyone he interacts with, and don't take any unnecessary risk while at it. Most importantly do not cause any havoc that might lead you to be discovered," Hanzo advised sternly.

"There's no need to worry about us," Summer said. "We got this."

"Stay safe you two," Ciara said.

"Don't screw this up kids," Jiro added much to Qrows annoyance. Hanzo's eyes followed their target until he disappeared inside the club. Now it all rested on the shoulders of two young hunters with questionable experience. Time to see if all of their talk is worth something.

Qrow moved his gaze towards the entrance just in time to see their target entering the club. The guy had a good sense of fashion and was certainly a looker. The young huntsman carefully kept his eyes on Bisque as he made his way through the club. Bisque walked with a confidant stride, the glowed hand placed inside his jacket pocket. The black market merchants' gaze fell on one of the private booths at the back of the club. He walked over to the private booths and was greeted by a muscular man dressed in dark clothes, after a moment, the dark-clothed man let Bisque pass. The tech merchant sat down, it didn't take long before a waitress brought him a drink. The man seeped his drink as he pulled out his scroll and began tapping on it.

"The sharply dressed sleazebag is sitting at a booth at the back of the club, I'm guessing he is waiting for someone," Qrow said over the comms.

"Just observe, do not engage," Hanzo said in a commanding tone. For a while nothing of note happened, just Bisque seeping on his drink and looking at his scroll. Summer watched him from the dance floor as she was near the edge of it. Then their target put his scroll on the table and moved his gaze over the partying crowd. Summer should have been more subtle, as at one moment her gaze met his. Bisque stared at her for a moment before his lips curved upwards, Summer quickly moved her gaze away so as not to draw any more suspicion.

"I-I think he noticed me," she said, her tone slightly panicked.

"Well, it seems their lack of experience is starting to show," Hanzo thought.

"What!" Ciara practically shouted over the comms which made all of them except Hanzo wince.

"He saw me looking at him and smiled," Summer explained, rubbing her arm nervously.

"Don't you know anything about subtlety?" Ciara asked angrily.

"Take it easy both of you," Jiro said. "You are in a club for god sake, a cute girl checking out a guy is normal. Stay calm kid and Ciara don't scream my ear off again."

"It's alright Sum, relax, nothing happened," Qrow added, reassuring his teammate.

"Continue with the observation, move inside the crowd, the chances of being spotted are lesser," Hanzo said.

"Oh really, I didn't know that," Qrow said sarcastically, rolling his eyes. Hanzo did not particularly like the show of disrespect but could do little about it. This was a temporary arrangement, once the mission is over so will be their alliance. The two hunters continued to carefully monitor their target. Bisque continued to seep his drink and eye the people in the club, particularly the women. Then a group of three individuals approached his table, two women and one man. The man was older, probably in his fifties judging by his face and graying hair. He was dressed in a dark fancy suit with and red sash around his neck. The two other individuals in his company were a pair of twins. They looked Mistrilian with long dark hair tied in a ponytail. They wore matching black sweaters, skirts, and boots. The twins sported a rather dissatisfied look on their faces as they approached Bisque while the older man was more courteous. Bisque got up, shook hands with the new arrival, and said something that neither hunter could hear due to the loud music before offering the trio a seat which they took.

"Looks like we have some kind of a deal going on," Summer said.

"It appears so," Qrow said, looking at the group of people in question.

"What's happening?" Ciara asked.

"Bisque just sat down with some guy and two women, they are talking," Summer answered. The older man pulled out a cigar from his pocket, cut it, and had it lit by one of the twins who pulled out a golden lighter. He smoked the cigar as Bisque continued to talk about something.

"About what?" Jiro asked.

"About sunshine and rainbows," Qrow answered sarcastically. "How the hell should we know, the music is on full blast, I can barely hear you let alone them."

"The new individuals are of secondary priority, our target is Bisque. Remember their appearance, we will look into them later," Hanzo replied.

The two men continued to talk while the two women kept silent, both sporting deep frowns on their faces. This went on for about fifteen minutes or so before the two men shook hands and the older man handed something to Bisque. After Bisque took the object the trio got up and left the booth, walking away from a smirking arms dealer. Honey Wine's singing came to a stop.

"I think I will take a quick break, I need something to refresh," she said, the dazzling smile still on her lips.

"Looks like they are heading towards the back, not the front," Qrow said.

"It's mine time to shine then. Finally something interesting to see after all this time," Jiro said as he eyed the back entrance of the club. Soon enough a black SUV pulled behind the establishment and Jiro immediately pulled out his scroll to start taking pictures. A man exited the car and waited outside. Not too long later, the back doors opened, and out came a slightly older man with two women behind him. The goon opened the rear doors of the car and let the sharply dressed man and the twins enter. As soon as the doors closed, the goon hooped back inside the car and drove away. "That's certainly interesting. I got the license plate of the car that picket the three musketeers up, we will have the police check it out once this is all over."

"Good to see you are finally taking things seriously," Ciara said.

"Oh I always take things seriously gingerbread, it's just that my easygoing personality doesn't show it," Jiro said smirking.

Inside the club little had changed, Qrow and Summer were still watching their target while Bisque who now sported a look of smug satisfaction seeped his second drink of the night. His gaze went over the partying mass of people once more and for the second time that night, his gaze fell on Summer. She tried to look away, but she knew she had been caught again. This whole spying thing was harder than she thought it would be. The arms dealer only smiled and motioned with his hand for her to approach him.

"Uh guys, he saw me again and I think he wants to join him," Summer said uncertainly over the comms. She was unsure what to do in this situation, she had been approached in a club by people before, mostly those of her own age but she had never thought that it would happen by a criminal. "What do I do?"

"Damn it," Ciara swore, her annoyance evident.

"Well if he was figured out that you are watching him, go with it," Jiro answered. "Say that you were checking him out."

"Absolutely not!" Ciara shouted. "Don't you dare approach him!"

"It's a bit late for that gingerroot, he has already figured out that she had been watching him for a while, he might be on to us. If she pretends to be just another girl in the club, it might ease his suspicions," Jiro explained.

"Yeah...uh, there might be a small problem with that," Summer said nervously.

"And that is?" Jiro asked.

"I don't really know how to flirt," Summer explained sheepishly.

"Just let him do most of the talking," Jiro said. "Just sit next to him, look pretty, and add a bit of sass when responding and you will be fine."

Summer was feeling nervous, really nervous. Killing grimm and fighting criminals is one thing, having to act as a super spy is another. How was she supposed to act casual and possibly flirt when the guy next to her was a criminal she was sent to track down? Why did it have to be her, why wasn't Raven here, she could easily do it.

"I advise against approaching the target, the risk is too great," Hanzo said over the comms.

"It's a bit late for that, he has figured out that she has been watching him. If he gets suspicious he just might decide not to go to his little hideout but somewhere else. We have been stuck here for a week, and I would like to see results for our efforts. If the kid needs to be a little uncomfortable for a few minutes for that to happen so be it. She got caught, she has to get herself out of it," Jiro responded, his voice devoid of its usual mirth, he was completely serious.

"Hey, that's not..." Qrow started angrily but was not allowed to finish.

"It's alright Qrow, he is right," Summer said. "I can do this."

She showed determination, and Hanzo would give her that much. "Take a deep breath and gather your courage," he said.

"Summer..." Qrow said, his tone weary. Summer did as Hanzo advised, took a deep breath, gathered her courage, and turned around towards Bisque. "Just act like Raven when she is a bit tipsy," Qrow advised.

"I got this," she said with determination.

"You go, girl!" Jiro said, his usual mirth returning to his voice. She just knew that he had a smirk plastered on his face.

"Be careful Sum," Qrow said in a low tone, looking at her from over the bar. Damn it all, this was not supposed to go like this. Better be ready if anything goes sideways. He took a large swing of his drink and carefully kept his eye on Summer, making sure not to look too dubious.

Summer started walking towards the private booths. A security guard stopped her but after a word from Bisque, the guard let her through. She walked over to his table and sat down. Their eyes met, silver meeting bright green. An easy smile crossover his lips.

"You have been watching me," he said. Summer felt nervous, but knew she had to keep her cool. Ok so, so you watched plenty of shows, time to put all of those hours of staring at a screen to good use.

"I have," she said, putting her arms on the table, her chin resting on top of her knuckles. She offered a smile of her own. "Maybe once."

"Once?" he said, smirking slyly. "Once is a coincidence, twice is a repeated occurrence, trice..."

"Fine, maybe I took a peek or two at you," Summer said. The waitress walked over and put a drink in front of the young huntress. She looked down at the glass filled with brown liquid.

"Top shelf, only the best for myself and the beautiful lady who decided to grace me with her presents tonight," he said, lifting his glass to toast her. Summer and alcohol didn't mix well but she had little choice now. She took her glass, raised it, and took a small seep. "You joined me and yet we do not know each other's names."

"I think that as a gentleman you should introduce yourself first," Summer said smiling.

Bisque chuckled. "Fair enough. My name is Bisque. Now that I told you mine, I think you owe me yours."

"Raven," Summer said simply, it was the first thing that came to mind. she had decided to take Qrow's advice.

"A beautiful name, much like your silver eyes," Bisque responded.

"Thank you, they are stunning, aren't they?" Summer said, taking another seep of her drink.

"Quiet so, this is the first time I've seen anything like them," Bisque said.

"So far so good," Qrow said, letting out a sigh of relief. This mission just might go off without a hitch after all. He turned his head around towards the bar.

"Britney, the regular for me," the female voice was heard next to him. He turned his gaze towards its source to find the club's singer, Honey Wine standing next to him, waiting for her drink. The bartender filled a glass with rum and put one of those small cute umbrellas on it before serving it to the woman. She picked up on it and turned her own gaze towards him. Their eyes met, her lips moving upwards.

"If you are going to stare at a girl might as well buy her a drink," she said playfully.

"Normally I would but by the looks of it, you already drink for free," Qrow said teasingly.

"One of the perks of working here," she said, lifting her drink. "Doesn't mean that a girl can't appreciate the attention."

"I'm sure attention is something you don't lack," Qrow said, smiling.

"On the stage yes, off it..." she said.

"Oh don't tell me Mistral's number one singer lacks the attention of the masses," Qrow continued to tease.

She let out a small laugh. "I'm hardly the number one singer in Mistral."

"Don't sell yourself short, you are good, really good," he said.

"I appreciate the compliment..." she said and looked questioningly at Qrow.

"Jimmy, the names Jimmy," he said. He was undercover, so giving up his real name in a club owned by a criminal syndicate is a no. So he was to give some kind of an alias.

"Jimmy," she repeated, offering a playful smile. "You don't really look like a Jimmy to me."

Qrow raised an eyebrow. "And what would you call me?"

She tapped her chin thoughtfully for a moment. "Honestly, I don't really know, but Jimmy is certainly not my first guess."

"And yours? I'm guessing Honey Wine is just a stage name," Qrow said.

"Maybe it is," she said, leaning towards Qrow, a sly smirk on her lips. "Lean in and I might just tell you."

Qrow leaned towards her, their faces almost touching, her lips barely a centimeter away from his right ear. Then she opened her mouth to speak, but instead of her real name, other words came out, lyrics to a song. A song that was so alluring and relaxing, a song which was only made more beautiful by her sweet voice. Qrow could not help but feel relaxed, for some reason, it became harder to focus as she continued to sing the sweet lullaby and soon enough, he could not focus at all. It was as if he was in some kind of a trance but could do nothing to snap out of it. Very few people actually knew about it but Honey Wine was not just a simple singer, she had her aura and semblance unlocked. Her semblance was powerful and gave her a good advantage at doing what she does, which is stealing. She took Qrows wallet and was about to hide it inside her purse when she saw something sticking out of it. It was barely visible but she had seen enough of those to immediately know what it was, a huntsman license.

"Follow me," her sweet voice commanded and he did exactly that. She led the hypnotized hunter to the back of the club. Some time passed with no updates on the situation from either Qrow or Summer, so Ciara decided to ask for one.

"Status?" she asked over the comms but no response came. She asked once more to the same result. She thought that it might be a com issue but after both Hanzo and Jiro reported in she knew something was up on the inside of the club. Summer was probably a bit preoccupied, but the possibility that something went south crossed Ciara's mind. Qrow wasn't the one to keep quiet so something must have happened to him. Ciara could not help but have a bad feeling about this. She decided to try one more time. "Qrow, Summer, report in. What the hell is going on?"

Summer who was sitting and chatting with Mistral number one illegal tech dealer heard her superior but could do little to respond. Ciara was calling for both of them and Qrow wasn't responding. This only served to make Summer more nervous than she currently was. Something was wrong with her partner, she needed to find out what, but first she had to find a way to get away from Bisque. A lightbolt went up inside her head. Bisque talked for a while longer before Summer stopped him and excused herself to the lady's room. She glanced towards the bar but did not see a sign of Qrow. As soon as she entered she went inside one of the stalls and shot the door.

"Summer here, what's going on?" she asked worriedly.

"You tell me," Ciara said. "Where Qrow?"

"I don't know, hes not at the bar where I left him," Summer said.

"Damn it," Ciara swore, her agitation clear.

"Hey, maybe he found himself some nice company,! Jiro said, both women knew what he was insinuating at.

"Not on a mission like this," Summer said. "Something happened, something bad."

"Alright," Jiro said. "What do we do?"

"We consider Qrow to be compromised, which leaves Summer as our only eyes and ears on the inside," Ciara pointed out. "Someone has to go inside and take a look so she doesn't end up compromised as well."

"Aren't I in the best position to do it as I'm already inside?" Summer asked. "Besides he is my partner."

"You are unarmed and alone, there's no saying how many men Spider has inside the club. Also, you need to keep an eye on Bisque, and keep him calm and distracted while we see what's up with Qrow. I will stay to monitor the outside,..." Ciara spoke but was cut off by Hanzo.

"I will go in and see if he is still alive," Hanzo said. "Jiro what's the situation on your side?" A shiver went down Summer's spine at Hanzo's words. Qrow was fine, he had to be. Her partner was alive and well.

"Same as always, the back door being guarded by the same old two douchebags," Jiro responded.

"Good, I'm heading towards you," Hanzo said and immediately went into action. He ran over the rooftops until he got close to the roof of the club and jumped on it. He headed towards the back of the building. He stood at the ledge, looking down at the two men standing guard at the back entrance. Moving his gaze upwards he saw Jiro standing on the roof of the opposite building. The hunter merely looked at Hanzo and gave a nod. The Shirai Ryu went over the ledge and fell down. As he continued to fall, he pulled out his katana and right as he landed behind the two guards, swung his blade, removing their heads from their shoulders. The bodies fell limply as the heads rolled down the dark concrete of the street.

"Damn that's brutal," Jiro thought.

Hanzo sheathed his blade and turned around to look at the door barring the back entrance to the club. On the other side, a long guard stood boringly whistling to pass the time. Nothing ever happens here, the most interesting thing he had seen all week was those two hotties who came with that old man. At least the pay is good. As the guard continued to whistle, a knock came from the outside. He turned around to look at the door questioningly. Another knock came.

He sighed. "If I need to fetch another sandwich," He was about to turn around and ignore it when another knock came. With a slightly annoyed look on his face, he grabbed the door handle, opened the door, and barely had one foot out of the door when Hanzos kunai found itself lodged inside his throat. Hanzo pushed the guard inside, holding his body as a human shield with his right hand while having several throwing knives in his left hand. The throwing knives were there in case any more guards needed to be dispatched quickly and quietly. Luckily for all, there weren't any. Hanzo let the body fall to the floor but kept the throwing knives at the ready as he stealthily made his way through the hallways of the club. He passed what he thought to be storage areas, listening to what was behind each door.

In one of the back rooms, Honey Wine walked in with a hypnotized Qrow in tow. Three guards were sitting inside the room, playing poker around a small table and having a few drinks. Their attention went from the game to the two newcomers.

"We might have a problem," Honey said in a stern tone which immediately caught the attention of the three men present.
