Over the past year, Blake had figured out some of the slang Ruby used. A Corpus was a business, especially a corrupt one. A Sentient was an AI, though there was a difference she refused to explain between them and Ordis and Cy, who were "Cephalon". Transference was her teleporting in and out, the laser weapon on her wrist was an amp.

That said, Blake couldn't help but feel touched when Ruby called Weiss Schnee, of all people, a Corpus. That she had immediately called out the SDC for the corrupt practices Blake had told her about. Blake followed Citrine out of the airbus, watching Ruby turn the Warframe's head, "Ruby?"

"Yeah, Blake?" Ruby's voice came out of the communicator attached to Citrine's cloak.

"Thanks for standing up to Weiss Schnee," Blake said.

"She's the heiress to a Corp," Ruby said, "I always will stand up to them."

"You really don't like corporations, do you, sis?" Yang said, Zwei in her arms.

"I don't like corrupt corporations," Ruby corrected."I have no problems with people who try to make money in a moral way, but debt slavery, blackmail, bribery, that stuff makes my blood boil."

"And the SDC does all those things," Blake said, thinking back to the brand across Adam's eye. He hadn't liked showing it, but there were times it was unavoidable, like when they slept together.

"Mmmm," Ruby hummed, "Why are you hiding your ears?"

Blake flushed slightly before saying, "I don't want to deal with it right now."

"Ok," Ruby said, and the conversation ended there.

Maybe it was because neither of them liked talking about their past, maybe it was because Ruby regarded herself as a "Tenno" over a "Human", but there was an unspoken agreement between the two. Neither dug into each other's past, neither questioned each other's decisions even when they made them question what the other was thinking. Tai and Yang, despite being accommodating, tried to figure out where Blake had come from and why she hadn't gone home to Menagerie (especially when, with the Liset, it was basically a day trip). Ruby had offered once, once, and when Blake had refused, it was the same even keeled "Ok", and the question had never come up again.

Blake would be lying if she said she wasn't thankful for that. It gave the feeling, and maybe it was just an illusion, that she had someone in her corner no matter what happened. People were naturally curious, but she never got the feeling Ruby even cared about it. Cared about Blake, maybe, she definitely listened to Blake when she went on rants about the SDC and Faunus rights. But she acted as if Blake had been created ex nihilo the day they met for all she showed a care for Blake's life before Umbra stepped into it.

— X Ruby X-

Ruby flew through the air in Citrine, closing her eyes and calmly breathing as she felt the air hiss across her body. At the last second, as she felt leaves tickle infected flesh, she shot out her hand and caught a thick branch, spinning around it once the diverte some of the force and snapping her eyes open. Throwing herself at the six beowolves staring at her, she drew Corufell off her back, scythe flashing in the morning sun and decapitating two Grimm in one move.

A third lept at her, and before it could even make it more than an inch it was encased in orange crystal, alongside the other three. Ruby Transferred in, just for a second, and swept her arm across the air, firing her amp as she did. The beam of Void energy shattered the Grimm to shards, and Ruby returned to the Somatic Link. Hearing the sound of grass crumpling under her feet, she whipped around, gripping Corufell in light hands.

Weiss Schnee stared at her, blinking. Ruby lowered Corufell with a sigh, aware it would defeat the purpose of the exercise to argue that Citrine didn't have eyes and therefore she hadn't technically made eye contact with Weiss, "Guess we're partners, Corpus."

Some part of Ruby was aware she was being unfair comparing the SDC to the Corpus. The former might engage in wage slavery, but they didn't, couldn't reposses body parts and organs for failing them… But when it doubt you fell back on what you knew, and Ruby had bathed herself in the blood of Corpus more times than she could count.

"Stop calling me that!" Weiss snapped, "I can tell it's an insult! Now, why is one of the aliens taking the Entrance Exam?"

"All the "aliens" are called Warframes," Ruby explaned, "They're suits I use for combat. I'm taking the Entrance Exam through Citrine, got a problem with that?"

Weiss's mouth had dropped open slightly, then she said, "but they look so… Alive!"

Oh, you poor girl, you didn't even know the half of it. Before Ruby could give a fake explanation, another Beowolf prowled out of the forest, sniffing the air ferally. Ruby didn't blink as she shifted Corufell to it's gun mode and blew a fist sized hole in the Grimm's torso. Three more came out then, and Ruby lodged Corufell into the ground, looking at Weiss, "Well, are you gonna show me what you can do, or just stand there?"

— X Glynda X-

Glynda Goodwitch didn't question Ozpin's decision making often, but the curious case of Ruby Rose was absolutely one of the times she did. First, the girl had vanished when they unlocked her Aura, presumed dead in a tragedy that Xiao Long-Branwen family had never really recovered from, as shown by the dog that had deployed with the blond girl. Yang Xiao Long had been so inconsolable that Taiyang had to buy her an emotional support dog with a bonding Semblance.

Then, Ruby Rose had reappeared suddenly, trailed by Remnant's first example of a spaceship (and no, Glynda wasn't at all irritated that she had been too busy teaching a class to attend that meeting), then Ozpin, without consulting anyone, had invited the girl and her "Warframes" to attend Beacon in the coming school year. A decision Glynda absolutely would have opposed had she been there.

As such, Glynda was watching the tan Warframe like a hawk, barely paying attention to the other feeds and letting alerts tell her when partnerships had been formed. She watched the Warframe and Rose kill six Grimm in a third as many seconds, her partnering up with Weiss Schnee (poor girl) and most damningly, in Glynda's eyes, lodge her scythe in the ground and lean against a tree as several Grimm approached her and her new partner.

"What is this?" Glynda demanded, showing Ozpin the feed. He took a glance at it, then took a sip of his hot chocolate.

"I do believe Miss Rose is testing how well her new partner can fight," Ozpin said, voice even.
