Disclaimer: I still don't own Code Geass and Dino Crisis, which belong to their respective owners.

A/N: I'm sorry for not getting this published in September, because I know some of you are becoming impatient, and I was hoping to publish one chapter each month, which seems to be difficult to pull off. When that happens, maybe I'll feel great. Anyway, please enjoy this chapter.

*Ibis Island, Protectorate of Borginia, Britannia, October 31st, 2017 ATB*

Within the jungle, the knife was brought down, while it slashed at the rope binding Milly, Darlton and Lelouch. Darlton, Lelouch and Milly frowned, while the woman raised her knife, before she swung it at the rope again. The woman pulled her knife away from the rope, before she slashed at the rope yet again. As the woman continued slashing the rope, she finally cut it, which freed Darlton, Milly and Lelouch. While the rope fell onto the ground, Lelouch, Darlton and Milly stood back up, before the latter spoke, "Whoever you are, thank you for coming to our aid."

The woman gave Milly a small smile, while she replied, "My name is Leila Malcal. Since I told you my name, it's fair for you to tell me the names of you and your comrades."

With a small on her face, Milly responded, "Fair enough. My name is Milly Ashford. The name of the bear of a man is Andreas Darlton, and you probably already know the thinner man is Zero."

Lelouch and Darlton frowned, while Leila redirected her attention to replied, "Ah, so you're one of the Witch of Britannia's generals. Because you're here, it would be safe to assume your princess isn't far behind."

Darlton glared at Leila, while the former responded, "It's a pleasure, Miss Malcal, but I don't appreciate you insulting Princess Cornelia. About her highness being not too far behind, she stayed at the facility, because Zero told her that Milly, he and I would would be fine in this jungle."

Leila kept smiling, while she commented, "I see. Since the princess isn't nearby, I won't have to fight her, but I can't guarantee avoiding fight later, because she might try to attack me."

Darlton continued glaring at Leila, while he replied, "Fair enough."

Leila nodded, before she turned to Lelouch, who she questioned, "Since I already know you're the infamous Zero, why don't tell me your name, and why you are in this jungle?"

With a stoic expression adorning his face, Lelouch answered, "My name Lelouch Lamperouge. I'm in this jungle, because my deputy commander spotted a parachute in the jungle, which belonged to Cooper, and he's a member of SORT."

Leila listened, while Lelouch pointed at Cooper's corpse, which Leila noticed, and the revolutionary continued, "That corpse belongs to Cooper, who was killed by a monstrous animal, which is roaming the jungle, but it should have come back here earlier, because the noise from the ATOLs should have attracted it. If I had to guess, something else in the jungle has caught its attention."

Leila frowned a bit, while she glanced at the two VTOLS, which were still on the ground, and she redirected her attention to Lelouch, who she spoke to, "It's a shame Cooper met a grizzly end, and this animal must be bold enough to not be scared by the loud noise of an engine. What can you tell me about this animal?"

Lelouch gazed at Leila, while he responded, "It's complicated, because it's hard to describe, while trying to not sound insane, but I'll do my best, Leila. The animal stands close to a height of 18'0", while having a length of 40 ft., and it weighs seven tons, which allows its footsteps to produce ripples in water. The animal is carnivorous, in addition to it having banana shaped teeth, which are serrated, and it can potentially crush bones with a bite force of 35,000 newtons. The length of its footprints are 3.3 ft., and the width are 1.55 ft."

Leila narrowed her eyes, while she commented, "Mmm. Based on your description, it sounds like a dinosaur, which should be impossible, because they're extinct, but Dr. Kirk's experiment with Third Energy might have something to do with whatever animal you encountered. What can you tell me about Third Energy?"

Lelouch continued gazing at Leila, whose eyes met his, while he replied, "Based on the information I received from my inside source, it's supposed to be a clean source of infinite energy, and it should somehow double as a weapon, which makes sense, because Borginia is infamous for developing weapons. Ever since Borginia became a protectorate of Britannia, the empire's military strength grew, while they have continued to conduct many experiments within their sphere of influence, and Dallas is one such hotspot for testing weaponry. Anyway, I don't know how it's a weapon, but it is very likely Third Energy is capable of destruction like most weaponry."

Leila frowned, while she responded, "I see. Like me, it seems like you don't know much about Third Energy."

Lelouch kept gazing at Leila, who smiled a bit, while she resumed speaking, "Anyway, your name is odd, because real Britannians wouldn't have French names, which means either your name is an alias, or you were born to Britannians with French ancestry."

Lelouch kept his cool, while he replied, "My mother had French ancestry, but the man I refuse to call my father has ancestral roots that can traced all the way back to the original Britannian homeland."

With the same smile on her face, Leila remarked, "You sure are an interesting young man, Lelouch. Try to not die. We will meet again, before our business on this island is over."

Leila walked away from Lelouch, Milly and Darlton, while she walked in the direction they were headed to earlier. Darlton continued to frown, which Milly noticed, and she too frowned, while she questioned him, "Is there something wrong, General Darlton?"

Darlton kept frowning, while he replied, "There's something off about that woman, and I don't like it."

Lelouch gazed at Darlton, while Milly and the ex-prince listened to the general continue, "Her uniform definitely looks like something worn by the United Republic of Europia, which means our situation may have just gotten worse."

Lelouch kept his attention on Darlton, while the revolutionary coolly responded, "That may be the case, but we should get moving, because the tyrannosaur might return, which won't be good for us. If you pay attention, you'll realize the forest is still dead silent."

Darlton and Milly frowned, while they listened for wildlife of any kind. When Milly and Darlton heard nothing, their uneasiness grew, while the ex-noble sighed, "I should have figured we still aren't out of the woods."

Darlton clenched his fists, while he replied, "True. We should grab our weapons, before searching for an extra weapon that his highness can use."

Milly forced herself to smile, while she responded, "Sounds good."

Darlton approached the corpse of the rebel, before he knelt close to it, and he grabbed his assault rifle, which was a Britannian model. Darlton smiled, while he commented, "Now, this is a weapon I feel comfortable with."

Darlton slung the assault rifle over his shoulder, before he reached for the pack of the rebel, which he grasped and opened. Darlton slid his right hand into the packet, before he rummaged through the contents inside, and most of them felt metallic, while the others felt soft. Darlton began pulling an object out of the pack, while he found one of the metal objects was an assault rifle maganize, which caused him to grin, and he uttered, "I can definitely make good use of these live rounds."

Darlton reached for his packet, which he grabbed and opened, before he placed his clip into his pack, and he reinserted his hand into the rebel's packet, which he removed a dart from. Darlton frowned, while he was reminded of what Gail had done, before he shook his head, and he shoved the dart into his pack. Darlton removed his right hand from his packet, before he reinserted his hand into the dead rebel's pack, and he removed a medical kit from it, which made him smile. Darlton set the medical kit into his own pack, before he shoved his right hand back into the rebel's packet, which he removed a handgun clip from, and he tossed it to Milly, who caught it. With a smile on her face, Milly expressed her appreciation, "Thank you, Darlton."

Darlton smiled, while he replied, "You're welcome, your ladyship."

Darlton shoved his hand back into back to the dead rebel's packet, which he removed another handgun clip from, before he threw the clip to Milly, and she caught it like the last one. Milly kept smiling, while she spoke, "Once again, thank you."

Darlton smiled, while he responded, "Once more, you're welcome, milady."

Darlton reinserted his right hand into the rebel's pack, which he rummaged through, before he felt nothing else inside, and he removed his empty hand from it. Darlton moved his left towards his own packet, before he grabbed it, and he shut it, while he frowned. Darlton and Milly scoured the area, while Lelouch approached the Chinese model of the assault rifle on the ground, before he came to a halt. Lelouch bent over, before he grasped the weapon, which he sling over his shoulder, while he remarked, "It may be shoddy in comparison to the Britannian models, but it's still a weapon I can make use of."

Milly smiled, while Lelouch walked in the direction Leila headed off in. Darlton and Milly followed Lelouch, while Milly, Darlton and him kept their eyes forward. Lelouch, Milly and Darlton, walked past various foliage, which were flattened. A stoic expression adorned Lelouch's face, while Milly and Darlton stayed behind him. Darlton, Milly and Lelouch saw a fee tree trunks were split in half, which gave them an eerie feeling.

Milly, Lelouch and Darlton kept pushing forward, while they noticed the corpse of an East Asian soldier, before Lelouch raised his hand. Milly and Darlton halted behind Lelouch, who approached the corpse, which adorned a uniform of the same color as the one worn by Leila. Lelouch narrowed his eyes, while he reached for his holster, and he removed the prong from one of the notches, before he slid the strap through the loop. Then Lelouch removed the dead soldier's gun holster, which he placed the holster around his own left leg, before he pushed the straps through the loop, and he raised the prong. Lelouch slid the prong through one of the notches, which secured his gun holster.

Lelouch frowned, while he motioned for Darlton and Milly to come closer. Milly and Darlton approached Lelouch, before they stopped a few feet from him, while they stared at the corpse. With the same expression on his face, Lelouch coolly questioned his comrades, "Does this strike either of you as too coincidental?"

Milly frowned, while she answered, "Aside from the fact I see a URE dead soldier, it's possible he's from the same unit as Leila."

With a stoic expression on his face, Lelouch responded, "That sounds very likely, Milly, but this soldier normally has something to allow him to be tracked."

Milly gave Lelouch a quizzical look, while she remained silent. With a frown on his face, Darlton uttered, "I believe you're referring to dog tags. Like Britannia, dog tags are also utilized by the EU and Chinese Federation, while their variants are also capable of containing tracers, which give off signals that pinpoint the locations of the soldiers in possession of them. Dog tags are also capable of being used by soldiers to make purchases, which are linked to a bank account used by military personnel."

Without changing his tone, Lelouch replied, "That is correct, Darlton. In order to confirm my suspicions, I need to search for his dog tags."

Darlton and Milly stared at Lelouch, who placed his hands on one of the dead soldier's pockets, which he patted. Lelouch felt nothing, before he patted the next pocket, and he patted the next one, which felt like something was in there. Lelouch's grasped the pocket, which he opened, before shoving his hand into the pocket, and he pulled out a dog tag. On the dog tag was the name Aoyama, and the unit name of W-0. Lelouch shoved the dog tag back inside of the corpse's pocket, while he spoke, "It's just as I thought. Leila came by here, and she retrieved the other half of the dog tag, which she would know the location of by following the signal, and that proves she's from the same global superpower as Aoyama."

Milly frowned, while she remarked, "Okay. That makes sense. Because Leila has been here, she probably cleaned out his pack too."

Darlton continued frowning, while he uttered, "Maybe, but it's also possible Ms. Malcal didn't remove anything from Aoyomo's packet."

Milly glanced at Darlton, before she redirected her attention to Lelouch, who Darlton stared at. Lelouch opened Aoyoma's pack, which he rummaged through, while he felt metallic items, and he smiled. Lelouch grasped one of the metallic objects, which he removed from the packet, while the object was revealed to a pistol clip, and he reached for his own pack. Lelouch opened his packet, before he inserted the handgun clip into his packet, and he removed his empty hand from his packet, while he reached for Aoyama's pack. Lelouch reinserted his hand into the soldier's packet, before he pulled out another handgun magazine, which he inserted into his pack, and he returned his hand to Aoyama's packet.

Lelouch grabbed the last item, which he pulled out, while revealing it to be a grenade, and he knew this would come in handy. Lelouch carefully inserted the grenade into an empty section of his pack, which he closed, while he gazed at Aoyama, and he spoke, "Based on the wounds Aoyama has, he must have hit this tree with blunt force, which could have been the result of the tyrannosaurus grabbing him, and then throwing him with without any effort. Like any human, it's impossible for anyone to survive something that fatal."

Milly covered her mouth, while she whimpered, "This isn't what I signed up for. I wanna go home."

Darlron frowned, while he responded, "I know, your ladyship. I'm sure we'll be done soon, and we should be able to return the research facility, where we can take a breather, before we finally put Gail in his place."

Milly forced herself to smile, while Lelouch glanced at Darlton, who the revolutionary uttered to, "Indeed, but we should keep moving."

Milly and Darlton nodded, while Lelouch turned around, before he headed further into the jungle. Darlton and Milly followed Lelouch into the jungle, while they passed by more trampled flora, which put them on edge. Lelouch, Milly and Darlton noticed another corpse up ahead, which caught their attention, while Lelouch raised his hand. Darlton and Milly halted, while Lelouch stepped closer to the corpse, which was flattened. Lelouch recognized the corpse as Yoshida Toru, which caused his eyes to narrow, while he sighed, and he commented, "I see. This is where you ended up, and we weren't able to do anything to help you."

Lelouch motioned for Milly and Darlton to come closer, before they approached him. Darlton and Milly stopped, while they recognized his uniform, which they knew were donned by the Black Knights. Darlton clenched his fists, while he questioned Lelouch, "There's no doubt he's one of yours, but is there anything you need to say about him, your highness?"

Without taking his eyes off his dead subordinate, Lelouch replied, "His name is Toru Yoshida, and he's a core member member of my faction. He was in charge of providing logistical support. Like the earlier members of the Black Knights, he used to be a part of the same resistance cell as my ace pilot."

Darlron frowned, while he commented, "I see. Not even a soldier like him doesn't deserve a death this brutal."

Lelouch glanced at Darlron, while he responded, "Indeed. Based on the physical trauma dealt to his ribcage and pelvis, it's very likely the Tyrannosaurus rex was chasing Toru, before it unintentionally crushed him under his foot, because it was also chasing the other dead soldiers we saw back there. We found five soldiers, but there's still two soldiers unaccounted for."

Milly turned pale, while Darlton remarked, "That seems very likely. We should find the other two soldiers, who I have no doubts are Frost and Dewey."

Lelouch kept his eyes on Toru, while he replied, "That seems to be the case. Because Toru is dead, he won't be needing his gear anymore."

Milly and Darlton nodded, while Lelouch reached for Toru's pistol holster, before he removed the prong from one of the notches, and he pulled the strap through the loop. Then Lelouch removed the dead soldier's gun holster, which he handed to Milly, who expressed her appreciation, "Thank you, Lulu."

With stoic expression on his face, Lelouch coolly responded, "You're welcome, Milly."

Milly placed the holster around her own right leg, before she slid the strap through the loop, and she raised the prong. Milly slid the prong through one of the notches, which secured her gun holster. Milly grinned, while she commented, "I'm gonna go all akimbo on those beasts."

Darlton smiled, while Lelouch's opened his own packet, before he opened Toru's pack, and he began rummaging through it. Lelouch felt a couple of metallic objects and two soft objects, which he gave a small smile at. Lelouch pulled out one of the metallic objects, which was a handgun clip, and he inserted it into his pack, before he shoved his hand back into his dead subordinate's packet. Lelouch's removed another handgun clip, before he inserted it into his own pack, and he returned his hand to Toru's pack, which he removed a dart from. Lelouch placed the dart into his packet, before he reinserted his hand into his subordinate's pack, which he removed a medical kit from, and he carefully inserted it into his own packet.

Lelouch closed his own pack, before he redirected his attention to Milly and Darlton. With a stoic expression on his face, Lelouch coolly stated, "Let's move."

*Meanwhile at the research facility*

Within the backyard of the facility, there were two East Asian soldiers, which consisted of a male and female. The male had blue eyes and long blue hair, which was tied into a braid. When it came to the female, she had pink eyes and short black hair. As for their heights, the male was 5'9", while the female was 5'5", and their individual weights were within healthy parameters. The male was 17-years-old, while the female was 15-years-old.

When it came to clothing, they adorned the same military uniforms as Leila Malcal. The name of the boy was Akito Hyuga, and the name of the girl was Ayano Kosaka. Aikto and Ayano were walking forward, while he carried an assault rifle in his hands. In the hands of Ayano was a pistol and a wakizashi, which she tightened her grip on. Ayano and Akito stared at the door, while she remarked, "We've been out here for quite a while, and there's still no sign of the others. We haven't heard anything from Ryo and Yukiya, which is concerning. Now that I think of it, Leila should have arrived already."

Akito ignored Ayano, while he frowned. Akito and Ayano walked towards the door, which she opened, before he stepped past her. Ayano walked through the doorway, before she closed the door behind her, while Akito's eyes were devoid of emotion, and he was in deep thought.

*Flashback, nearly two hours earlier*

Within the bridge of the blimp, Akito, Aoyama, Ayano and three other soldiers stood. Two of the soldiers were male East Asians, while the third soldier was a European male. When it came to his physical characteristics, the European soldier was of average height and weight. Like Akito and Ayano, he wore an EU military uniform. When it came to the eldest of the two other East Asians, he was 17-years-old, while he stood at a height of 6'0", and his weight was within healthy parameters.

He had brown eyes, disheveled brown hair and a tanned complexion. The name of this soldier was Ryo Sayama, and he had a glare on his face. As for the youngest of the East Asian soldiers, he was 16-years-old, while he was 5'6", and his weight too was within healthy parameters. When it came to the rest of his physical details, he had green eyes, short brown hair and a fair complexion. His name was Yukiya Naruse, and he had a mischievous smile on his face.

Akito, Aoyoma, Ayano, Ryo and Yukiya were lined up, while their commanding officer stood in front of them. With a neutral expression on his face, Akito kept his eyes forward, while Ayano frowned, and Aoyama too frowned. With a stern expression, the soldier stated, "Here are your objectives. The five of you are to infiltrate the research facility on Ibis Island, where you'll locate and capture Dr. Kirk, who you'll bring to the EU. You're also tasked with retrieving the data on Third Energy, which will prove to be beneficial in our struggle against Britannia."

Yukiya, Ryo, Ayano, Aoyama and Akito listened, while their superior paused. The older soldiers eyed his subordinates, while he continued, "Leila Malcal will be dropping onto the island a bit later. She is planning to use a hang glider to glide to the island, and she is onboard a C-17 Globemaster that will enter the airspace of Ibis Island about an hour after the mission begins. Before we continue, are there any questions?"

Akito, Aoyama, Ayano, Ryo and Yukiya didn't say a word, while the elder soldier resumed speaking, "Good. We should be nearing the drop sight right about now."

Yukiya, Ayano, Aoyama, Ryo and Akito nodded, while the blimp kept moving towards its intended destination. Once the blimp was over Ibis island, the soldier opened the door, which sent a chill into the room, and the five Japanese soldiers began putting their parachutes on. As soon as Ayano, Akito, Aoyama, Yukiya and Ryo finished putting their parachutes on, they approached the door, while the soldier said, "Good luck, and try not to die."

The five soldiers nodded their heads, while they stared out of the blimp, and they noticed the research facility below, which they recognized as the location housing their target. Aoyama, Ryo and Yukiya jumped out of the blimp, while Akito waited alongside Ayano. Ayano placed her hand on Akito's own hand, which he accepted, while she smiled, and he kept frowning. Akito and Ayano jumped out of the blimp, before they began free falling. Akito, Ayano and their comrades opened their chutes, which slowed their descent to the island, while they steered their chutes.

Ryo, Yukiya and Aoyama, were blown away from their comrades, before the former two landed close to a radio tower. As for Aoyama, he landed in the jungle. Ayano and Akito landed at the heliport, before they removed their parachutes, which they dropped onto the ground. Akito unslung his assault rifle from his back, while Ayano unholstered her pistol, and she unsheathed her wakizashi, before they approached the large door.

*Flashback end*

Akito was still in deep thought, while Ayano questioned him, "Are you even listening to me, Akito?"

Akito turned to stare at Ayano, who had an annoyed expression on her face, while he apologized, "Sorry, Ayano. I was remembering the details of our mission."

Ayano frowned, while she sighed, "I know you're the broody type, but at least make the effort to socialize with your teammates."

With a frown on his face, Akito replied, "I'll take that into consideration."

Ayano shook her head, while she sighed in annoyance, before Akito and her heard their communicators go off. Akito and Ayano pressed their fingers against their earpieces, while they heard Leila's voice, "Akito. Ayano. I've arrived at the island, and I'm currently in the jungle."

Ayano smiled, while she remarked, "Heck yes. That's the best news I heard all day, Leila."

With a small smile on his face, Akito questioned his commanding officer, "Have you heard from Ryo and Yukiya?"

From the ogre end of the call, Leila answered, "Unfortunately, no. I contacted them, but all I received was static."

Ayano and Akito frowned, while Leila continued, "Either there's interference in their area, or something happened to their communicators."

With the same frown on his face, Akito cynically commented, "That's not good. Worse case scenario, they might be dead."

Ayano shot a glare at Akito, while Leila raised her voice, "Akito, you shouldn't speak of your comrades so lightly."

Akito kept frowning, while he cynically responded, "Sorry, but I'm just bringing up the possibilities of why they aren't responding."

From her end of the call, Leila sighed, "I see. Once I arrive at the facility, I'll help you search for them."

Akito and Ayano listened, while Leila continued, "On the topic of comrades, I found Aoyama in the jungle."

In response to Leila's news, Ayano and Akito perked up, while the European continued, "Unfortunately, he's dead. As for the cause of death, it was blunt force trauma, which was the result of him slamming into a tree, but I don't know how that happened."

Akito and Ayano frowned, while the latter replied, "I see. Aoyama will be avenged, and his death will not be in vain."

In response, Leila uttered, "I know. Talk to you later. Leila out."

Leila ended the call, while Ayano and Akito removed their hands from their earpieces, before he noticed her shooting a glare at him. With an unfazed look, Akito spoke, "I said I was sorry."

Ayano shook her head, while she responded, "You should believe in your teammates more."

In response, Akito stared blankly at Ayano, but he didn't say a word, while she walked ahead of him. Akito and Ayano stared ahead, while they approached the corpse of the guard, which they stopped in front of. Ayano frowned, while questioned the situation, "What the hell happened here?!"

Akito too frowned, while he answered, "Don't know, but whoever or whatever did this didn't give the guard much of a chance to fight back."

Ayano felt uncomfortable, but she remained calm. Ayano glanced at the guard house, while she spoke, "This situation has all sorts of red flags. The lights in the guardhouse are out, and there's a dead guard here. The facility should be on high alert, but it's too quiet, almost like it's a ghost town. Maybe the research facility is currently operating on a skeleton crew, which explains why the alarms aren't going off."

Akito glanced at Ayano, while he cynically remarked, "Or the guards and research staff are dead, which means we're walking right into a trap."

Ayano gave Akito an annoyed look, while she questioned him, "Can't you try to be a bit positive?"

Akito stared at Ayano, while he answered, "No offense, but I'm not an optimist."

Ayano frowned, while she sighed, "I'm not asking for you to become one, but I would appreciate it if you wouldn't be so negative."

Akito had a blank expression on his face, while he replied, "I can't guarantee any promises, but we should focus on finding Dr. Kirk."

Ayano kept frowning, while she responded, "Very well. We can search for Yukiya and Ryo later, because they can handle themselves."

Akito nodded, before Ayano and him turned around. Ayano and Akito's walked away from the corpse, while they got closer to the steel fence, before they made a left turn. Akito and Ayano continued walking, while they approached the door, which they stopped in front of. Akito grasped the handle, before he pulled the door open, and Ayano smiled a bit, while she set foot into the office hallway. Akito followed Ayano inside, before he closed the door behind her, and he released the door, while they gazed at the hole in the hole in the glass window.

Akito and Ayano frowned, while they stepped forward, before they made a left a turn. Ayano and Akito froze, while they saw the corpse of a raptor, which perplexed them. Akito and Ayano cautiously approached the dead animal, while they never took their eyes off it. The two Japanese Europeans came to a halt, while they knelt beside the corpse of the dinosaur, which they poked, and they gazed at it. With the same frown on her face, Ayano questioned her comrade, "What do you think it is, Akito? Why does it seem so familiar?"

Akito kept frowning, while he answered, "I don't know, but I think I saw it in a book once, Ayano. If I recall correctly, it must have been when I was five-years-old."

Ayano glanced at Akito, while she replied, "I see. I too might have been little, when I saw something like this."

Akito also glanced at Ayano, while he responded, "We should get moving, because this area has been compromised. Once we get far enough into the facility, we'll probably get the answers we seek, which Dr. Kirk might have, but we'll probably have to beat the answers out of him."

Ayano smiled a bit, while she uttered, "I agree. You lead, I'll follow."

Ayano and Akito got back up, before they left walked around the dead raptor, while they approached the door. Akito and Ayano stopped in front of the door, which Ayano grasped, before she twisted the doorknob. Ayano pulled the door open, before Akito's set foot into the main entrance, and Ayano followed him inside, while she closed the door behind him. Ayano and Akito stared in awe of the room, while their eyes darted across it. Akito and Ayano stepped forward, while they heard the door knob on the other side turning, which caused their eyes to narrow.

Ayano and Akito dashed to the doorway of the front entrance, which opened, before they ran outside. The Japanese-Europeans ran to the corner next to the door, which they pressed against, while they stayed out of sight, and the front doors slid shut. While the soldiers hid, the door inside of the facility opened. Cornelia, Guilford, Kallen and Regina stepped into the room, while they scanned their surroundings, before they walked forward. Regina, Kallen, Guilford and Cornelia approached the stairs, while the former spotted a slight movement outside, which caused her to stop.

Out of confusion, Kallen, Guilford and Cornelia too stopped, while they stared at Regina, who the princess questioned, "Is there something wrong, soldier?"

Regina frowned, while she answered, "Your highness, I saw something move outside the front entrance."

Cornelia, Guilford and Kallen squinted at the large double doors, while they saw nothing. With a frown on her face, Cornelia replied, "It was probably a rat. We better keep moving."

Regina kept frowning, while she responded, "No, your highness. The shape appeared to be too big."

Cornelia narrowed her eyes, while Guilford and Kallen also frowned. Without taking her eyes off the stairs, Cornelia questioned Regina, "Are you certain?"

Regina glanced at Cornelia, while the SORT agent answered, "Yes, your highness."

Cornelia frowned, while grasped her rifled, which she unholstered, and she motioned towards Guilford, who unslung his assault rifle. Kallen and Regina unholstered their pistols, before the group of four aimed their weapons at the double doors of the front entrance, while Cornelia barked, "If you're human, then come on out with your hands raised above your head. If you're a raptor, we'll shoot without mercy."

From outside the front entrance, a stick was thrown, before it landed in front of the doors, and they slid open. Cornelia, Guilford, Regina and Kallen narrowed their eyes, while they tightened their grip on their weapons. Without warning, a grenade was thrown into the room, before it landed near the feet of Cornelia, whose eyes widened, and she glanced at her group. Guildord, Kallen and Regina too stared in shock, while Cornelia raised her voice, "Get back."

The grenade went off, while smoke shot out of it, which clouded around the four soldiers, who coughed, and Cornelia cursed, "Damn it! Definitely human, but they're not friendly."

From behind the corner outside, Akito and Ayano jumped into view, before they rushed inside at the four soldiers. Ayano and Akito raised their pistols, while she held her sword in a reversegrip. Cornelia, Guilford, Regina and Kallen stood their ground, while they aimed their weapons at the two European soldiers, before they closed the distance between them. Ayano swung her wakizashi at Cornelia, who blocked with the blade of her rifle sword, which cause the swords to clang, while they glared at each other, and she jumped back. While the fighting continued, the door slid shut.

The smoke began to clear, while everything became clearer, and the soldiers stopped coughing, before the two factions stared one another down. With a scowl on her face, Ayano spat, "Out of all of the places to run into you, who'd thought I'd run into the Witch of Britannia in a research facility."

Cornelia stared Ayano down, while the princes replied, "Because you referred to me by that title, it proves you're not from Britannia. If I had to guess, you're from the EU, because you're wearing the uniform of my nation's my sworn enemies, which makes you my enemy too."

Ayano narrowed her eyes at Cornelia, who resumed speaking, "You're lucky the circumstances of the situation have forced me and my enemies to put our differences aside, so lower your weapons."

Ayano pointed her weapons at Cornelia, while the East Asian snarked, "Yeah, right. You're just trying to pull a fast one on us. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you and your groupies."

Guilford glared at Ayano, while Akito had his assault aimed at him, in addition to Regina and Kallen aiming their pistols at the European soldiers. Guilford too pointed his assault rifle at Akito, while the knight awaited his princess' orders. With an annoyed expression on her face, Cornelia responded, "One. We have you outnumbered four to two. Two. We have you outgunned. Three. You might have seen some overgrown lizard-like creatures in the research facility, which we refer to as raptors."

Akito and Ayano frowned, while she growled, "I hate to admit it, but you made your point. We did indeed see the corpse of a lizard-like creature on the way here, which is unlike anything we've seen. Out of curiosity, why do you refer to them as raptors."

Cornelia kept her attention on Ayano, while the princes replied, "We call them raptors, because that's what they're called. If you don't know what raptors are, you probably saw them in books as young children, while probably having gone to museums, where you saw fossils of them on display."

The eyes of Ayano and Akito became wide as saucers, while he questioned the princess, "Did Ayano and I hear you correctly? I could have sworn you said fossils."

Cornelia frowned, while she responded, "You heard me correctly. Raptors are prehistoric animals, which lived more than sixty-five million years ago."

Akito and Ayano stepped back a bit, while she questioned the princess, "Are you telling me what my comrade and I saw was a dinosaur? Aren't dinosaurs supposed to be extinct?"

With the same frown on her face, Cornelia sighed, "You are correct on both accounts, but I don't know why dinosaurs have appeared on the island. If I had to guess, Dr. Kirk must have something to do with it."

Ayano and Akito frowned, while the former commented, "I see. The situation has suddenly taken a weird turn, and I know why that beast seemed familiar. I hope Dr. Kirk is unwilling to talk, because I want to take my frustrations out on him."

Cornelia glared at Ayano, while she replied, "Please don't ago overboard, because I still have my orders to make sure he survives, and I can't allow anyone to swipe his research data, which I know you came here for."

Ayano glanced at Cornelia, while the East Asian soldier responded, "No promises."

Cornelia sighed, while she sheathed her rifle sword, which prompted Guilford, Regina and Kallen to put their weapons away. Akito and Ayano lowered their pistols, which they holstered, before she sheathed her wakizashi on her back. Ayano and Akito stepped back, while Cornelia reached into her breast pocket, which she removed an earpiece from. Cornelia placed the communication device around her left ear, before she turned it on. In a professional tone, Cornelia spoke, "Marrybell, I need you to head to the front entrance, because there's some people here you might have to work with."

Cornelia listened, while Marrybell, "I read you loud and clear, Cornelia. Did Lelouch finally return?"

With a frown on her face, Cornelia replied, "No, he hasn't returned."

From the other end of the call, Marrybell responded, "I see. I should be there immediately."

Cornelia smiled a bit, while she replied, "Good. We'll continue our conversation in person. Over and out."

Cornelia turned her earpiece off, before she removed it from her left ear, and she reinserted it into her breast pocket, which she removed her left hand from. Akito and Ayano stared at Cornelia, while the latter questioned the princess, "Care to explain why we need to work with this woman?"

Cornelia stared at Ayano, while the princess, while the princess answered, "When Marrybell gets here, I'll explain it to you."

Ayano gave the princess am annoyed expression, while the East Asian responded, "Fine."

Cornelia and her comrades glanced at the two European soldiers, while they waited. A couple of minutes passed, before the door behind Cornelia's group opened, which revealed Marrybell, Oldrin and Tamaki. The three of them walked in, while he closed the door behind them, before they approached Cornelia's group, and they noticed the two European soldiers. Tamaki, Oldrin and Marrybell frowned, while the older princess' group turned around. The younger princess saluted her older sister, who saluted her back, while the older princess said, "I'm pleased to see you're here on time, Marrybell."

Marrybell and Cornelia ended their salutes, while the former replied, "Indeed, Cornelia."

Marrybell glanced at Ayano and Akito, while the princess resumed speaking, "These must be the soldiers my group will have to work with."

Ayano glared at Marrybell, while the European soldier spat, "It's another Britannian princess."

Akito too glared at Marrybell, while he sarcastically commented, "The situation just keeps getting better."

Marrybell ignored Akito and Ayano, while she focused on Cornelia, who responded, "That is correct."

Cornelia turned to Ayano and Akito , while the princess resumed speaking, "There's a reason you're working with my sister, which is no faction can be allowed too much leeway, and we'll able to observe each other, because we have to make sure no one tries anything funny."

Akito and Ayano listened, while Cornelia continued, "The reasons we came here may vary, which are no doubt connected to Dr. Kirk and his research on Third Energy. As for our mutual tasks, we are to locate any safe rooms, rescue any survivors, searching for medical supplies, scavenging for weapons, and collecting ammunition. Should we carry out these tasks, we might be able to reunite with our comrades. Are there any objections?"

Akito shook his head, while Ayano replied, "No, mam. If it means being able to survive, I'll agree to working with you. That doesn't mean I have to like it, because you Brits are to blame for the suffering the EU puts us through."

Cornelia and Guilford glared at Ayano, while Marrybell uttered, "I see. Let's move out."

Marrybell, Oldrin and Tamaki walked away from Cornelia's group, while the two East Asians followed them. The newly formed group of five approached the door Cornelia was facing, before they stopped in front of it, and Marrybell opened it, while she stood outside of the entryway to the management office hallway. Akito, Ayano, Oldrin and Tamaki entered the hallway, before Marrybell followed them inside, while she closed the door behind her. Ayano frowned, while she thought, 'I hope Ryo and Yukiya are okay. Knowing Leila, she's more than smart enough to survive a situation like this.'

*Elsewhere at the radio tower*

Ryo groaned, while he felt his bottom and legs pressing against the concrete. Ryo slowly opened his eyes, before he saw the area was deserted, and he attempted to move, while he felt a force holding him back. Ryo struggled, while he was unable to freely move his arms, and he turned his head to look at his wrists, which were tied up. Ryo also noticed Yukiya was behind him, while his wrists were tied up to his, which frustrated the older East Asian, and he whispered, "Hey, wake up, Yukiya."

Yukiya opened his eyes, while he sighed, "Figures. The moment we set foot on the island, we get ambushed by a group of unknown assailants."

Ryo narrowed his eyes, while he responded, "When I find the punks that pulled a fast one on us, they're so dead."

Yukiya frowned, while he replied, "Calm down, Ryo. If you go in guns blazing, you'll get killed."

Ryo glanced at Yukiya, while the older soldier sighed, "I know. It's a stealth operation, and we can't afford to blow our cover, which seems pointless, because the place appears to be deserted."

Ryo began frowning, while he stated, "The situation is too strange, and I don't like it."

Yukiya kept frowning, while he questioned his comrade, "Do you think they already know we're here?"

Ryo stared ahead, while he answered, "If that's the case, I won't say I'm surprised. I can't believe we sprung whatever trap the Brits laid out, which is something a noob would do."

From around the corner of the control tower, someone cut in, "I wouldn't say they laid out a trap, but you were ambushed like me."

Ryo and Yukiya narrowed their eyes, while the former snarled, "Who are you? Why should we believe you?"

From around the corner, the person came into view, which gave Yukiya and Ryo a view of an older man. He had gray eyes and brown curly hair, while standing at a height of 6'0". When it came to his weight, he was within healthy parameters. The man wore the standard attire of the Black Knights, in addition to having a red headband around his forehead. As for his age, he was 26-years-old.

With a frown on his face, the man responded, "My name is Ohgi Kaname, and I'm the deputy commander of the Black Knights. As for why you should believe me, I'm Japanese like you two."

Yukiya snorted, while Ryo snarked, "Right, and I'm the king of Scotland. If you want to trick us, you should use a more believable lie."

Ohgi sighed, before he replied, "Whether or not you believe me is your choice, but it would be in our best interests to work together. Anyway, it's fair for you to introduce yourselves, because I already revealed my name and profession to you two."

Yukiya and Ryo frowned, while the latter sighed, "Very well. My name is Ryo Sayama, and my friend's name is Yukiya Naruse. Like me, he's also an EU soldier, which is why I introduced our names in a western manner, but we don't have any love for our nations of birth, because they treat us no differently than how the Brits treat your kind."

Ohgi frowned, while he responded, "I see. The rumors about the URE are true."

Yukiya pursed his lips, while he questioned Ohgi, "True? What is an Eleven like you referring to?"

Ohgi recoiled at the casual use of the slur dropped by Yukiya, but the deputy commander didn't snap. While Ohgi kept his cool, he answered, "I'm referring to how the EU is mistreating all Japanese, which involves them being forced to live in internment camps, and forcing Japanese to go on suicide missions, even if they're natural born citizens of the URE. When you think about it, the EU isn't any different from Britannia."

With a frown his face, Yukiya replied, "You make a good point, but it doesn't change the situation we're in."

Ohgi frowned, while Ryo butted in, "Anyway, what can you tell us about the group that ambushed and captured us."

Ohgi looked up, while he answered, "It wasn't a group that did this. It was just one person."

Ryo and Yukiya raised a couple of brows, while they laughed. Ohgi had a puzzled expression, while Ryo remarked, "That's rich. I suppose the next thing you're going to be telling me is you have a couple of ninjas in your back pocket."

Ohgi felt annoyed, but he didn't say anything, while he looked around, before he turned his attention to the rope that was tied around his wrists. Ohgi frowned, while another voice caught his attention, "Looks like all of you are finally awake."

Ohgi, Ryo and Yukiya narrowed their eyes, while they glanced in various directions, before they spotted an East Asian man hanging onto the ladder of the radio tower. When it came to his appearance, the man had brown eyes, and long black hair, which reached his knees. He was also tall, which went hand-in-hand with his lean body. As for his age, he was 23-years-old. On the right side of his hair was a red back headpiece, which he had around his head, while he wore a blue short shirt that was similar to a men's qipao, and he had a white shirt with two cut leg slits underneath.

The man also donned a red sash, which had a Chinese broadsword attached to it. As for the last bit of clothing, he adorned black pants and brown boots. The man jumped down, before he landed on the ground, while Yukiya and Ryo glared at him. Kaname gazed at the man, who kept his cool. With a stoic expression on his face, the stranger continued, "I do apologize for the mistreatment, but one can never be too cautious."

Ryo grit his teeth, while he responded, "Like hell you are. When my friend and I get out of this, you're dead meat, punk."

The man wasn't fazed by Ryo's threat, which he dismissed, while he turned to Yukiya, and the Japanese-European growled, "I agree with Ryo. When you let us go, we're gonna screw you up."

The man wasn't fazed by their threats, while glanced at Kaname, who commented, "Based on your accent and physical characteristics, I'm certain you're Chinese."

Yukiya snorted, while Ryo muttered, "Thanks, captain obvious."

The man smiled a bit, while he replied, "Very perceptive of you, and you're correct about my nationality. My name is Li Xingke, and I'm a soldier. Although I revealed my name and occupation, you don't have to do the same, because I was listening to your conversation."

Kaname, Ryo and Yukiya frowned, while the former remarked, "I see. Even though you know who we are, you won't let us go, because you don't know if we're enemies or allies."

Xingke nodded his head, before he responded, "That is correct. Until then, don't try anything funny."

Yukiya and Ryo glared at Xingke, while the Chinese soldier questioned his prisoners, "First off, why are you on this island? What are your objectives? How many of you are there?"

Kaname kept frowning, while he answered, "I'm on this island, because my comrades and I came here to apprehend Dr. Kirk. As for the second part of our mission, we're supposed to locate and steal his research on Third Energy. Our total unit number on the island is thirteen people, not counting those in our primary means of escape."

Xingke nodded, before he turned to face Ryo and Yukiya, while the former replied, "Why should my friend and I bother telling you anything? Once we reveal what you want to know, what's to stop you from executing us?"

Xingke gazed at Yukiya and Ryo, while he commented, "You're quite cautious, but you don't need to worry about that. Should you prove to not be my enemies, I'll release you. Because you're not being cooperative, I'll ask again. Why are you on this island? What are your objectives? How many troops are with you?"

Yukiya and Ryo frowned, while the Former replied, "Fine. Ryo and I are on this island, because our comrades are after Dr. Kirk's research. Our objectives are to steal his research. Should that prove too difficult, we are to capture and kidnap him. We have six members in our unit, but I don't count the troops aboard our main means of escape."

Xingke nodded again, before he responded, "That's better. As for the details of my objectives, my primary objective is to rescue an important diplomat from the Chinese Federation, and my secondary objectives are to steal the research data on Third Energy, along with possibly apprehending Dr. Kirk. Should it prove to be impossible to complete all of my objectives, I'll shall sacrifice my chances at stealing the research data, and I'll rescue the diplomat, because her life is more important than even that of a scientist like Dr. Kirk. As for the total number of members in my unit, there are four in total, but that doesn't include those piloting the vessel we used to arrive at this island."

Ohgi, Ryo and Yukiya narrowed his eyes, while the former responded, "I see. All of us are here for the research, but I cannot say I'm happy to have crossed paths with you three."

Ryo, Xingke and Yukiya listened, while Ohgi questioned the Chinese soldier, "Now that we have revealed our intentions, will you release us?"

Xingke frowned, while he answered, "No. I won't release you just yet, because I'm not sure I can trust you. While you show no hostile intent, the other two have made their threats clear."

Ohgi frowned, while Ryo and Yukiya glared at Xingke. From within the jungle, a loud roar emitted, which caught the attention of Xingke, Ohgi, Yukiya and Ryo. The four of them stared at the jungle, while the deputy commander of the Black Knights questioned the situation, "What was that?"

Ohgi received no answer from Xingke, Ryo and Yukiya, while the nearby trees rustled, which caused their eyes to narrow. From out of the treelines, an apatosaurus emerged, which shocked Yukiya, Xingke, Ryo and Ohgi. The apatosaurus bellowed, while Ohgi remarked, "Either I'm going crazy, or I'm really seeing a dinosaur."

Xingke frowned, while he replied, "You're not insane, because I see it too."

Yukiya and Ryo also frowned, while the latter commented, "This isn't possible. How is a prehistoric animal like that still around?"

Yukiya glanced at Ryo, while the former answered, "I don't know, but something tells me we should get out of here."

From within the treelines, the leg of a large animal moved, which caused the trees to shake, and the group of four stared in the direction of the movement. The sauropod craned its neck to stare at the trees, while a Tyrannosaurus Rex darted out of the jungle, which stunned Ohgi, Xingke, Ryo and Yukiya. The tyrannosaurus ran at the apatosaurus, which stood its ground, while it raised its tail, and the theropod halted in front of the sauropod. Horror was etched into the faces of Yukiya, Ryo, Xingke and Ohgi, while the former raised his voice, "What the hell?! Is that a Tyrannosaurus Rex?"

Xingke had his eyes locked on the dinosaurs, while he responded, "I don't know, but Yukiya is correct about us needing to leave the area."

Ryo and Yukiya were too caught up in the spectacle to respond, while Xingke turned to them, before he grabbed the hilt of his sword. Without warning, Xingke quickly unsheathed his sword, before he slashed at the restraints wrapped around the wrists of Yukiya and Ryo. The ropes were quickly cut, while Xingke redirected his attention to Ohgi, and he swiftly cut his restrains, which freed him. Ohgi, Ryo and Yukiya rubbed their sore wrists, while they kept their eyes on the tyrannosaurus, which lunged at the apatosaurus. The apatosaurus swung its body around, while it whipped its tail at the tyrannosaurus, which stunned it, and the theropod shook its head.

The tyrannosaurus stepped back, before it charged at the apatosaurus, which raised its front legs off the ground, and the Tyrannosaurus Rex came to a halt. With great force, the apatosaurus slammed its front legs on the ground, which shook it, and the humans stared in awe. The tyrannosaurus roared at the apatosaurus, while it spotted Xingke, Ohgi, Ryo and Yukiya, before it ran off in their direction. The humans were brought of their state of shock, before they glanced at a large set of double doors, which were somewhat open, and they turned to face the doors. Ryo, Yukiya, Xingke and Ohgi ran off in the direction of the double doors, which hey quickly went past, before turning around, and they noticed two sets of locks.

The Tyrannosaurus Rex had stepped over the small walls, before it glanced in their direction, and it spotted them, while it roared. The tyrannosaurus rushed toward the humans, while they scrambled to push the doors shut, which they closed, and the Chinese soldier pushed a metal bar through some bar locks. With the door secure, the tyrannosaurus stopped running, before it slammed against the doors, and a loud thud could heard. The tyrannosaurus rammed the doors some more, which resulted in more thuds, before it stopped, and it roared. The tyrannosaurus walked away, while Xingke, Ohgi, Yukiya and Ryo heads its footsteps fade in the distance, which caused the latter three to sigh in relief.

Ohgi, Ryo and Yukiya turned to Xingke, before the former questioned him, "I won't deny I'm grateful for the fact you freed us, but why did you do it?"

With a stoic expression on his face, Xingke answered, "A prisoner doesn't deserve to die an undignified death. I can sympathize with prisoners, because I too used to be a prisoner, and I would have been executed for giving medicine to a sick prisoner, which was avoided by a young girl using her legal authority to pardon me. Because she saved my life, I owe her life, and I intend to protect her at all costs, which is why I'm here to rescue her."

Yukiya, Ryo and Ohgi frowned, while the latter replied, "I see. That explains your motivation and intentions. Based on what you just said, this diplomat must have connections the Vermilion Forbidden City."

Xingke stared at Ohgi, while he responded, "That is correct. I intend to keep her safe, but I'll need your help locating her."

Ryo and Yukiya narrowed their eyes, while Ohgi continued frowning. With the same stoic expression on his face, Xingke continued, "I know this seems unreasonable, but that dinosaur roaming the vicinity has made me realize we need to work together. Should any of us choose to act alone, there's a pretty good chance we'll perish. Will you help me, or will you take your chances with the tyrannosaurus?"

Yukiya and Ryo glared at Xingke, while Ohgi sighed, "Very well. I'll help you, because it's the smartest choice I can make in this dire situation, and I cannot bring myself to abandon any survivors, especially if I can save them."

Xingke nodded, while Ryo and Yukiya walked past him, which caught attention of the Chinese soldier, while Ohgi raised a brow at them. Xingke stared intently at Yukiya and Ryo, while they approached a pile of crates, which they stopped in front of. The Japanese Europeans stared at something protruding out of the pile, which a mechanical hand. Xingke and Ohgi frowned, while the former questioned the situation, "Is that a knightmare?"

Xingke narrowed his eyes, while he answered, "It would appear so, but why would it be disrespected like that?"

Ryo grinned, while he raised his voice, "Who cares? With this bad boy, we can teach that dinosaur a lesson it won't ever forget."

Yukiya smiled, while he uttered, "Once we get get crates out of the way, we'll see what condition it is in, before determining if it's combat worry, and then we'll use to our advantage."

Ryo kept grinning, while he whooped, "Oh, yeah! Now that's what I want to hear."

Ohgi stared at Yukiya and Ryo, while the Japanese questioned them, "No offense, but how will we safely move the crates out of the way?"

Ryo and Yukiya glanced at Ohgi, while Yukiya answered, "Oh, I have an idea, which involves a bit of heavy lifting and hacking."

With the upmost confidence, Ryo stated, "Alright. Show them how it's done, Yukiya."

Yukiya smirked, while he reached for his pack, which he opened, and he inserted his hand inside of it. Yukiya pulled out a hacking device, which Ohgi and Xingke raised a couple of brows at, while Ryo kept grinning. Yukiya and Ryo approached a fork lift, before they stopped. Ryo reached for a panel, which he opened, before Yukiya and him were greeted to the sight of some circuitry. Yukiya untangled the cord from his hacking device, before he connected the end of the cord into a USB port, which caused his screen to light up, and he saw a model of the forklift appear on screen.

Yukiya kept smirking, while he removed his cord from the USB port, before Ryo and him stepped away from the forklift. Ryo and Yukiya latter, while the latter tapped on his screen, which caused the engine of the forklift to roar. Yukiya tapped his screen again, which resulted in the forklift moving over to a crate, before the machine slid its forks under the crate, and it raised the crate off the pile of crates. Yukiya continued tapping the screen, while the forklift pulled back, before it moved away from the pile of crates, and it stopped. The forklift lowered its forks, before the crate was brought close enough to the ground, and it slid off the forks, while Yukiya kept tapping his screen.

The forklift retuned to the pile of crates, before it slid its forks under a second crate, which it raised off the crate, and the machine went in reverse. The forklift stopped, before it moved towards the first crate from earlier, and it lowered the forks again, while setting the crate on top of other crate. The forklift moved away from the stack of two crates, before it drove over to the pile of crates, and it slid its forks under yet another crate, which it raise into the air. The crates rumbled a bit, before they tumbled, and this cleared the pile of crates, which revealed the knightmare frame underneath. The knightmare appeared to be old, while having no weapons of any kind, which caused Xingke, Ohgi, Ryo and Yukiya to frown.

Ryo clenched his fists, while he growled, "Are you kidding me? This thing is a piece of junk."

Yukiya sighed, before he uttered, "I'm sorry, Ryo. This thing might not even have sakuradite to work."

Ryo didn't say anything, while he glanced at Ohgi, who remarked, "Maybe there's some sakuradite stored nearby, which should be in a container."

Ryo stared at Ohgi, while the European soldier replied, "Even if that were the case, we don't know which container that houses the sakuradite we need. We might as well abandon this piece of crap, which belongs in a museum."

Ohgi glanced at Ryo, while Xingke stated, "One must learn to sail on all four winds. In order to succeed, we must do what we can with what we have."

Yukiya and Ryo raised a couple or brows at Xingke, while Ohgi responded, "Looks like we don't have much of a choice. We should find that sakuradite soon, but we cannot allow that predatory animal to detect us."

Xingke frowned, while he spoke, "I might have an idea on what to do, which involves moving quietly, staying out of sight and covering up our scent."

Ryo and Yukiya narrowed their eyes, while Ohgi raised a brow. With their attention focused on Xingke, Ohgi questioned him, "How do you propose we do that?"

*Back to the jungle*

Leila walked on a dirt path, while she listened to the lack of wildlife, which didn't sit well with her, and she saw a set of small footprints. Leila halted, while she gazed at the footprints, which showed two toes pointing forward. Leila frowned, while she walked forward, and the trees further up ahead rustled, which she glanced at. Leila quickly ran over to a tree on the opposite side of the dirt path, before she got behind it, and she began climbing the tree, while the rustling got louder. Leila finished climbing the tree, before she got on top of a branch, which she sat on, and she watched the trees continue rustling.

From out of the bushes and treelines, an ankylosaurus come forward, which stunned Leila, whose eyes widened. The ankylosaurus moved, while it swung its tail club from side to side, and it approached a bush, which it halted in front of. The ankylosaurus began feasting on the shrubbery, while Leila muttered, "Incredible. It's a dinosaur."

Leila stared in awe, while she remembered Lelouch's words of a large carnivore in the area, which caused a frown to form on her face, and she whispered, "Lelouch subtly said there was a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the area. I'd better leave the premise, otherwise it'll make a light snack out of me."

Leila placed her hands on the branch, before she lowered herself, and she swung her body, while dangling her legs. Leila then released the branch, while she dropped, and she landed on the ground, which she rolled on. Leila stopped rolling, before she got back on her feet, while she noticed the ankylosaurus had stopped eating, and it stared at her. Leila froze, while the herbivore looked at her curiously, while trying to determine if she was a threat, before it redirected its attention to the bush, and it resumed with eating its meal. Leila sighed in relief, while she walked past the dinosaur, which was focused on its meal, and she walked further into the jungle.

Leila pushed various leaves and branches aside, while she continued her trek in the jungle, which was still dead quiet. Leila kept walking, while the jungle became less dense, and she spotted the research facility, which caused her to sigh in relief. Leila continued with her walk, while she got closer to the research facility, and she a a large wall obstructed her view of the research facility, which caused her to frown. Leila opened her packet, before she reached inside, and she pulled out a grappling gun, which she aimed at the top of the wall. Leila squeezed the trigger, which caused the grappling hook to fire from the gun, before it flew over the wall, and then it landed on top of it.

Leila heard her grappling hook snag onto the wall, before she pulled her trigger again, and the cable raised the European off the ground, while she looked up. When Leila was close enough to top of the wall, she pulled herself up, before she was greeted to the sight of a large elevator, and she commented, "This must be the elevator that leads to the sub levels."

Leila removed her grappling hook from the wall, before the grappling hook shot back into her grappling gun, which she reinserted into her pack, and she proceeded to shut it. Leila looked around, while she noticed a blood trail close to a door, which made her feel uncomfortable, but she chose to focus on finding a way down. Leila saw a piece of the wall was missing close to the top, which she measured the distance from the ground, and she smiled, while she approached the gap in between the walls. Once Leila set foot on the gap, she grabbed onto the ledge, before she lowered herself, and she released the ledge. Leila dropped to the ground, before she stood back up, and she glanced at her surroundings, while she began approaching the elevator.

A growl emitted from behind Leila, which caused her to stop, and she spun around, before she saw a raptor had snuck up behind her. The raptor was less than ten feet from Leila, while it was running towards her. With her eyes widening, Leila stared in shock, while the raptor leapt at her, but she froze.

A/N: This chapter was a chore to write, but I'm glad it's finally finished. The W-0 unit has finally made their appearance, which should make things more interesting, because Leila is a brilliant tactician, and her teammates getting split-up should make things more difficult for her. Here's a fun fact. During the development of Dino Crisis, the ankylosaurus and triceratops were planned to appear in the game, but they were scrapped, before the developers successfully added the triceratops to Dino Crisis 2. As for another bit of trivia, a pair of brachiosauruses made an appearance in the manhua of Dino Crisis, which was its only depiction in the franchise. Anyway, I hope Chapter 4 was to your liking.
