"The prince is here!"

A shout from the crowd as i pull up to the courtyard on my bike. Another motorcycle meet where i can race rookies for some extra cash.

My name, although i wasnt sure where or who it came from, is The Prince of Shadows.

I won my bike from a Shadowverse battle and it made me feel free. From that time forth, I have also used it to earn and save up money for my sister.

"Ahh~ the Prince of shadow. I was waiting for you," a familiar voice speaks up from behind me

"Youre here again" was my only reaction. This person was odd. I have no idea how to sort him. He seemed to have a certain fascination towards me, his name, Maura Abelard.

"Why of course! I always look forward to these meets. Just to see you" he says as he approaches my bike.

"Is tonight the night you'll let me ride?" He says as he touches the tank of my bike.

"I promise i ride well. You wont be disappointed" he smiles knowingly.

He always seem to choose the worst words to express himself.

The crowd ogles at us and i hear murmurs from them, causing me to take a deep breath to gather my thoughts.

"I refuse. I ride alone"

"My, my that must be very lonely then"

"..."

"Come and give me a try. I promise i wont bite. Unless you want me to"

This gets more reactions from the crowd and so i answer quickly. Repeating myself.

"I refuse. I ride alone"

I walk away leaving him by my bike that i had parked and i head off into the crowd to find someone to race or battle.

Maura POV.

Such cold gaze. Makes me want to try harder for his attention. The Prince of Shadow. How fascinating indeed.

I follow him into the crowd. Unfortunately losing him in it.

I know he went this way though. As on the floor was a little discarded handkerchief that i am positive is his. Taking care to pick it up i dust it off and put it away to return once we see each other again.

Lucia POV.

Where is it? The handkerchief my sister gave me. Its been my good luck charm ever since. Where is it?

I look around with my eyes pasted on the floor to find it. But with this many people i doubt id find it if i dropped it.

With my focus on finding my missing belonging i accidentally bump into someone.

"Excuse m--" i stop in my tracks as i once again see these lidded eyes on me.

"You seemed to be missing something. Could it be me?" He asks.

"..."

"Oh what scary eyes. Dont be mad. I only want to be friends" he adds.

"Do you have it?" I stand straight to look him straight in the face

"You really should be careful with your belongings Yonazuki Lucia. Some pervert might have picked it up." He presents my handkerchief to me.

I hesitantly take it. Contemplating to thank him or not.

"Thank you" i mumble

"Hmm? What was that? I didnt seem to hear you" he was clearly enjoying himself.

Maura POV.

I was definitely enjoying myself.

"You know? I can think of a better way for you to thank me" i hint at him.

And thats how i ended up here. Sitting on his bike right behind him, with my arms around his torso.

He revs the engine and it gives me goosebumps as the bikes stand at the start line.

A few minutes ago*

"A race?" Lucia asks

"Yes. I found you a race. But ill ride with you" i beam at him

He seemed to think for a while before he sighs "fine"

I was surprised he agreed so fast but didnt pay mind to it. Letting him lead the way back to his bike, i follow happily along.

Current time*

"You better not make me lose Maura" his voice muffled by the helmet.

"Oh youve already won just with me holding you" i muse.

I see him shake his head but didnt say anything else.

Holding on tighter as the flag bearer takes her place and explains the course and rules of the race.

"You'll win. Dont sweat it" i whisper to him and he revs the engine again as if to answer me.

Soon we were zooming down the empty streets, leaning and weaving with every turn. I held on tighter, i didnt think it would be like this.

Lucia POV.

I feel his arms grow tighter around me. 'was he scared?' I thought.

I shake these thoughts away to focus on the race. This guy was good but not better than me.

I feel drag on Maura as we get faster. And as a reflex i quickly grab his wrist and pull it tighter against my midriff.

This helps him lean towards me more and we start to ride more efficiently.

The race ends as a nail biter. My victory of course and i stop the bike as the crowd cheers. I set the stand and i take my helmet off, but Maura continues to hold on and so i tap his arms lightly.

He starts to move and carefully hops off my bike. Taking the helmet off as well.

"That was exhilarating!" He exclaims with a twirl.

"It felt like we were flying" he even adds.

My opponent comes over to shake my hand and the broker hands my winnings.

"He was really good too. Whered you find him?" I ask Maura.

"Oh no where. Just in the crowd"

That was suspicious. How he answered. But hes always talk suspiciously so i try not to pay it any mind.

"Oh how i wish youd express thanks to me more. I loved how the engine vibrated underneath me" he muses.

"Not happening again" is all i answer.

"Ill be going now" i say after a while and start my bike up again and put my helmet on.

I drive off with a nice sum in my pocket to go to the underground casino now. Figuring its late enough that ill find drunk players around that will battle me for whatever cash they have left.
