Happy October 1st, Spooky Season is here! I'm back with another Halloween fic, loosely inspired by the word of Hotel Transylvania. As per usual, its Brittana. Enjoy

Chapter 1: Welcome Zing

Every year, the Lopez family stayed at Hotel Transylvania. Every year, Santana protested. Well, ever since she could anyway. Rumor said she used to love going to hotel when she was younger, but that time had long since passed. For one, the only reason she had apparently enjoyed their stays was Mavis Dracula, and she was apparently traveling the world with her human husband. Gross. Still her parents thought this year, maybe she'd come back, since apparently Mavis was home. Santana knew better though. Mavis had a baby now, and Santana didn't need to be babysat anymore either. More likely than not, she'd be stuck babysitting. Probably a werewolf or twenty.

The Lopezes were cousins of Eunice Stein, Frankenstein's wife. It was her fault, in Santana's opinion, that they had to go on this trip every year. She hated going and seeing their whole monster family. She hated the other monsters even more though, especially the werewolves. They were awful, always tearing things up and making messes.

Brittany was so excited for her first trip to Hotel Transylvania! She been a lone wolf for so many years before Wayne and Wanda found her and took her in, with the caveat that she had to help rein in the pups. She didn't mind too much, it made her feel like part of a family for the first time ever. She knew she didn't look like it though. She was a white wolf, it was the reason she'd lost her family in the first place. Who wanted someone who stood out that much around? It wasn't normal. She wasn't normal. Sometimes being with Wayne and Wanda served as an infinite reminder of how true that was, all the pups being gray as intended. Some of the older pups even picked on her because of it. She tried to not let it get to her, but she cried often, tucked way back in her room. The trip would be a nice break though. Plenty of other adults occupy the children's curiosity, and maybe a chance to learn how to be different. Everyone knew Mavis Dracula had fallen in love with a human. He might just understand feeling like you don't fit in.

"I can't believe you made me come." Santana complained as she dragged her luggage begrudgingly behind her parents..

"Mija, you're nearly eighteen. You'll never meet anyone if you never leave the house." Francisco, her father said.

"And you assume I care about meeting someone? I haven't seen any new creations recently." Santana rolled her eyes.

"So? Ever since Mavis got together with Johnny you know monsters have been more open to…differing relationships." her mother, Stella, reminded.

"Mavis is Drac's daughter. She's got special privileges. I'm just the unwanted Frankenperson." Santana threw her bag dramatically on her bed and left her parents to worry about her.

"Come on everyone, behave." Brittany urged the pups Wayne and Wanda had assigned her "We're at the hotel, and you know your Uncle Drac doesn't like when you chew up the furniture.

"You're not our mom!" one of the pups said, starting a chant of that among the group. Brittany sighed, she hated doing what she had to to get them to be quiet now. She gave a high pitched howl and they all quieted down.

"Who's the new one?" Dracula asked as he spoke to Wayne.

"That's Brittany." He explained "She's a stray. Or was. Wanda said we ought to take her in. We could use the help."

"Hmmpf. Well, tell her not to howl in here again. Sensitive bat ears and all." Dracula went off to greet another family of monsters arriving. Brittany cowered as Wayne approached her. She heard. She's in trouble.

"You're fine. Relax, Brittany. Here is your room key. With all these monsters around, we thought we'd give you a break from the pups. No howling though." Wayne winked and went to round up the pups. Brittany looked down at the shiny keycard. She was shocked that Wayne and Wanda had gifted her this, but glad. Now she could enjoy the vacation. It wasn't that she had any right to complain about watching the pups, but a break sounded amazing. She was walking down the halls confused why she couldn't find her room number when she bumped into someone.

"Oof, I'm sorry." Brittany said politely "Are you okay?"

"Watch where you're going." Santana grunted, as she readjusted her arm. Sometimes being a Frankenmonster meant your limbs were a little too loose. "It's no fun having your arm nearly knocked off by a-" She looked up at who she bumped into so she could fire off a long winded list of accurate insults. Her eyes flash purple, as do Brittany's. It only lasts a second before they both snap out of it, but they're both a little dazed and confused.

"I'm really sorry." Brittany says, apparently gaining her bearings first "These room numbers are just really confusing, and I can't seem to find my room."

"Huh?" Santana says and then shakes her head a little to clear her thoughts "Oh, uh, i guess you've never been to the hotel before then. Yeah. For a count, Drac really isn't very good at counting. For one, he skips sevens entirely."

"Really? Math is like the only thing I'm much good at." Brittany shrugs "Not so much directions though."

"Well, what's your room number? Maybe I can help you find it." Santana doesn't know why she feels so suddenly inclined to be so nice.

"Really? I don't want to bother you." Brittany scratches the back of her head.

"It's not a problem." Santana insists "What's the number?"

"Uh…246." Brittany says "I thought I was getting close…"

"You were! I'm 245, well my parents and I. Come on, I know exactly where you're at." Santana leads Brittany down the hall, the way from which she came, and points to the door across from her own. "There you are: 246. You should make sure your key works." Santana smiles encouragingly, and Brittany swipes the card and door pops ajar.

"Cool…" Brittany says, pushing the door the rest of the way open "Thanks for helping me. I'm Brittany." she holds out a paw to shake.

"Santana. And can I just say, your fur, nicest werewolf fur I've ever seen." Santana says shaking hands/paws with Brittany.

"Oh, uh, thanks. You're probably the only one who thinks so." Brittany admits.

"Well, um, I guess I'll probably run into you again?" Santana says awkwardly. She doesn't want to say goodbye. She has this undeniable urge to know everything about Brittany nie.

"Um. Yeah. I guess I should unpack…" Brittany's feelings are similar.

"What about when you're done you meet me out on the deck at the end of the hall?" Santana points to a door. "No one's usually out there if memory serves. I have to admit I haven't been to the hotel in quite a while."

"Sure! I'll see you soon!" Brittany reluctantly shuts her door, unpacking her luggage haphazardly in her haste. Something that she couldn't place kept telling her she had to know everything she could about the beautiful monstress. Pristine stitches, luscious hair, and the most gorgeous shade of Frankenblue Brittany had ever seen. And she'd actually met quite a few. She may have been outcast by her own family, but Frankenmonsters were the friendly sort. They also had an acute sense of family betrayal. In her travels in and out of Transylvania, she'd met quite a few, and they'd always offered her a warm meal and a place to stay the night. She was shocked she'd never stumbled across the monstress before, but perhaps she'd hidden. Frankenchildren had been scared to meet her before, so it was possible. I mean it wasn't everyday you saw a white werewolf. And Brittany respected their sense of stranger danger. It was an important lesson. Once she'd finished unpacking and brushing her fur a bit, she went down the hall and saw Santana lounging in the moonlight. Maybe that was the Franken version of tanning. She couldn't complain, she loved the moon, I mean, somethings aren't myths.

"Hey" Brittany said as she stepped on to the deck. She noticed now Santana was wearing sunglasses. Yup, totally Franken-tanning. "It's a gorgeous moon tonight, don't you think?"

"It is giving my skin the desired glow." Santana observed carefully "And your fur just illuminates in it."

"Not always a good thing." Brittany shrugged "Draws a bit of attention. Kind of like a spotlight."

"Well, I'm sure if your whole pack is white it's not a problem." Santana smiled.

"Well that's just it, they aren't. Well…maybe they were." Brittany crossed her arms. Was she ready to talk about that? She didn't think so.

"I…uh…I'm sorry. Did they…die?" Santana whispered. Death was a weird topic among monsters. A lot of them were the undead and so dying a second time…it was a bit manufactured for some. Others, like Frankenmosters and werewolves, seemed to age. She wasn't sure why Frankenmonsters did, but why question what she knew to be true?

"Not as far as I know." Brittany was evasive with her answers. She had decided she very much was not interested in delving into her trauma.

"I…I suppose you aren't interested in talking about it. I'm sorry I was nosy." Santana admitted shyly. What was wrong with her? She'd never been shy or sorry about getting into other people's business.

"That's a shock." another voice? Brittany turned around and, where there had been a bat, a vampire stood. Not just any vampire though.

"Mavis?" Santana said "were you spying on us?"

"Oh please, I can spy on you if I want, Santana, I used to babysit you." Mavis chuckled, hugging Santana. "Sorry to butt in, I really hadn't meant to hear anything, I just had to see what was shining so brightly. I'm Mavis." she held out a hand to Brittany who shook it delicately. Her experience with Frankens was positive. She couldn't say the same for vampires. Now, she didn't mean to insinuate that the rumors of a rivalry were true. But she'd definitely had some negative run-ins with a few vampires. She quickly learned to never wake a sleeping bat.

"I'm Brittany." she said "I've heard a bit about you. Is it true?"

"Me and Johnny?" Mavis asked, and both girls nodded "Yeah, it's true. I know crazy stuff. Well, look, I'll leave you two to your privacy. I've got to get back to Johnny and Dennis."

"It was good to see you again Mavis." Santana smiled and waved as the vampire flew off.

"So she used to babysit you?" Brittany asked.

"I came to the hotel alot when I was younger. I grew tired of the family reunions though." Santana admitted.

"Well, I for one, am so glad you decided to come this year." Brittany blushed.

"So, you don't have to talk about your pack, but I still want to know about you." Santana said.

"Well, my name's Brittany Pierce. And up until recently I was a lone wolf. Wayne and Wanda took me in, on the condition I helped control the pups. I've been traveling in and out on the outskirts of Transylvania for nearly as long as I can remember. When I could, I used to sneak into library's or sit outside human or monster classes to learn. I only ever really picked up math." Brittany shrugged.

"Oh. My life seems so boring. Well, I'm Santana Francesca Stein-Lopez. And I've never left Transylvania. I went to school with all the other monsters, and I was a cheerleader. Being able to dislocate your limbs can sometimes come in handy. I grew up with just me and my parents."

"I would've loved to have done a sport or cheerleading." Brittany says wistfully "I'm a fantastic runner."

"Most werewolves are." Santana grinned "but I bet when you run it looks like a bolt of lightning flying by."

"Okay…this might sound crazy, but I have this insatiable need to know everything about you." Brittany shakes her head.

"Crazier thing, so do I." Santana said.

"Oh my god did you two zing?"
