The fireplace roars to life, heralding the arrival of his fiancée. She bursts into the snug living room of their cozy flat, clutching a copy of Witch Weekly, her anger looming over her like an impending thunderstorm. Ron lounges on the sofa, a mischievous grin playing on his lips as he twirls his wand between his fingers, watching her dramatic entrance and preparing for the inevitable.
She slams the menacing magazine onto the coffee table with a loud thud, not bothering to great him.
"Have you seen this?" She demands, thrusting the magazine toward him, her voice trembling.
"Hi there, love!" Ron responds with a grin, setting his wand aside. "No kiss today?"
Ron's eyes twinkle with amusement as he glances at the magazine's cover, which showcases a photo of him and Hermione, arms wrapped around each other. The bold headline on the cover proclaims:
The inseparable Duo embracing their newest title: Harry Potter's best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger (Soon-to-Be Weasley) voted Couple of the Millennium
He chuckles and meets her gaze. "Yeah, I've seen it. It's all over the ministry. It's a nice picture of us, don't you think?"
Hermione seethes with anger, breathing heavily. "How dare they? How dare they invade our privacy like this? It's so disrespectful! No respect for our personal lives whatsoever. Like we're just characters for their amusement, with no right to privacy? It's so infuriating! What's next?! Ron and Hermione's Potion for Perfect Harmony: The Secret to Their Endless Love or Behind Closed Curtains and under the Covers: Ron and Hermione's Pillow Talk Decoded. Unbelievable! We have to set up wards to prevent them from filming into our bedroom through the windows! Who knows what crazy ideas they might come up with next! I don't want to have to read about my sex life on the front page of such a sleazy rag!"
Ron's laughter fills the room, a warm and soothing sound, as he sets the magazine aside and rises from the sofa. He tenderly rests his hands on Hermione's shoulders and interrupts her rambling, "Hermione, love, take a deep breath and calm down."
Her anger simmers slightly, but tears glisten in her eyes as she meets Ron's calming gaze. "Calm down? Why do you think that's funny? How can you possibly laugh about this? Ron, they've turned our relationship into a public spectacle, put it on display for the entire wizarding world to see!"
Ron's laughter echoes through the room again, as he leans in, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead, his lips lingering there for a moment. "You're quite adorable when you're angry, especially when it's not me in the crosshairs," he chuckles.
Hermione raises an eyebrow, glaring at him. "What's so funny?"
His hands slide down her arms and he pulls her into a comforting embrace. "I get why you're upset, Hermione. But you know, we can't control what the media says or does. It's not like it's the first time that we're on there."
Hermione lets out a weary sigh, the tension in her shoulders easing as she sinks into Ron's warm embrace.
"You're right. It's just so frustrating to have our personal lives constantly thrust into the spotlight. I wanna live a quiet life."
He caresses her back soothingly and plants another soft, reassuring kiss on her forehead. "I know, love. But don't let it ruin our day. Besides, deep down, you know they're not entirely wrong."
Hermione raises an inquisitive eyebrow. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Ron grins again with a mischievous glint in his eyes, "Well, I have to admit, they have a point. We're quite legendary."
Hermione rolls her eyes, unable to hide her own grin. "Come on, let's find something else to do besides reading stupid magazines."
Ron arches an eyebrow, mischief dancing in his eyes, as he draws her closer, his thoughts now occupied with all the possible things to make this night memorable. "Well, I happen to have a few ideas that involve us proving that we truly are the Couple of the Millennium..."
