It was an early evening, and Harry had decided to lock himself in his office to go through some papers that needed his attention.

The walls of his room were covered with pictures, from his parents and their friends to his friends. Some were moving, while others were stationary. Some people in the photos looked alive and well, but the animated parchment was all that remained of them.

The door creaked, and Harry's eyes immediately left the document he was reading to look up. The familiar blue hair caught his attention, and he couldn't help but smile at the boy. He was now 12 years old, taller than most people his age but certainly outgoing.

"Yes, Teddy?" Harry asked as he put down the document and focused his attention on his godchild.

The little boy lingered around one corner of the room and stared at a picture longingly. Harry followed his line of sight and was not surprised to see which picture Teddy was looking at.

It was a picture of Remus, Sirius, and Harry at Grimmauld Place back in the day— a quick photo after the three got a moment of privacy from all Order business.

Sirius with his mischievous smile and his arms draped over Remus and Harry. His old professor wore his old beaten-up coat with a small smile on his face while Harry had his jumper, squinting from the flash of the camera.

Teddy fiddled with his fingers before slowly turning his attention to Harry.

Normally, the kid was all smiles and energy, but there were moments when the shy little boy would come out.

"Is he like me? Or was he more like you?" Teddy asked in a timid voice.

The room suddenly stood at a standstill. Harry could feel his heart break at Teddy's question and wracked his brain for anything he could answer the little boy. What was Remus like? He was a good teacher, of course, but he felt like it wasn't the answer Teddy wanted. Was Harry like Remus, at all? No, not. Remus was calm, composed, and thought things through. Harry was impulsive, and reckless, and loved to take action immediately. Remus was like Teddy in a sense, although a bit more introverted than his son, Teddy had traits that reminded Harry of his late teacher.

"Never mind, it was a stupid question…" Teddy mumbled and started to walk away, but Harry stopped him.

"Sorry," Harry spoke, "I was just thinking of an answer to your question." Harry stood from his chair and slowly approached Teddy, his eyes looking at the photo. He reached out to his godson and wrapped him in a side hug.

"Well," Harry started, "Your dad was more like you."

Teddy's eyes widened and looked up at Harry. He turned to his godson and gave him a cheeky smile.

"Really?" he asked, his hair shifting colors.

"Yeah," Harry chuckled, thinking things would be a lot more different if he had Remus's more composed nature.

"I thought he would be like you, to be honest," Teddy mumbled as he returned his focus to the photo.

"Nah, Remus was calm. He was composed and thought things through rather than heading in headfirst." Harry explained.

"He was a bit more introverted but was to be around. Sirius once told me that he had a mouth as foul as a sailor when he was pissed."

Harry and Teddy giggled as a picture of mad Remus passed through their mind.

"He was also very protective," Harry added as he remembered the times Remus protected him and his family.

"He was a brave man. One of the bravest I've ever known." He said fondly. A sense of gloom started to go over Harry as he remembered the dead bodies of Remus and Tonks, but he shook it off. This was not the time to somber the mood. There were plenty of times in the future for it, but for now, he wanted to give Teddy a good impression of his father.

Harry turned his attention back to Teddy and squeezed his shoulder. His godson's attention turned to him and Harry smiled.

"Teddy, your very existence reminds me of your dad." He said as he looked at him. "Your thoughtfulness, your protectiveness, and your brains," Harry poked the boy's forehead gently and the two shared a laugh, "all of these, remind me so much of your dad."

Teddy took a breath and hugged Harry. He did the same and engulfed the boy in a hug. Merlin forbid he would ever let this child grow up knowing nothing about his parents.

Like I did.

"Thanks, Harry." Teddy's muffled voice said as Harry hugged him even tighter.

"No problem, kiddo."

Hi! It's been a while since I wrote something and I wanted to see if I still have the capabilities to do so! Turns out, I am not a hopeless case, hooray! Anyways, I'm in my last year of university so it's been hectic, but I am coping. I hope you liked this short piece I came up with and thank you so much for reading it!
