Chapter 5
"Oh my gosh, I can't believe you guys are here! Yes, do, please come in!" Robin exclaimed.
The three friends huddled onto Robin's couch as she got them wine, water, and snacks from her kitchen. Once the provisions were spread out on the coffee table and the girls all got settled on the couch with their drinks and food, Brenda started off the conversation.
"My wonder little sister, you have called out the SOS and we are here to rescue you. What's going on?" Brenda inquired.
"To sum everything up, Patrick and I have broken up and I want a baby." Robin said.
"Good riddance. I never liked him anyway." Brenda said and toasted her wine glass in the air and tossed a piece of popcorn into her mouth.
"I think you will make a great mom." Bianca said.
Oh, sweetie you know we are always here for you, how are you feeling? Lois asked.
"Strangely, I'm okay. While I did care very deeply for Patrick, my feelings for him were not strong enough to make me give up on my dreams. You know when I was diagnosed as HIV positive, it was back at a time that it was seen as a death sentence. There are so many people who lost their lives and there was no hope of a future. But the thing is, I am still here. I am not just surviving day by day; I am living out my wildest dreams. The dreams that Stone hoped I could accomplish, and I have. Back then I was so young, but I never thought it was possible that I would have the chance to be a mother, but it is possible. We have come so far and know that we still have a way to go, but I am not letting anything stop me from my dreams." Robin stated.
By the end of her impromptu speech, there was not a dry eye in the apartment. All three girls rallied around Robin and offered her words of love and support. The rest of the night consisted of the four friends hanging out and catching up on each other's lives and then they decided to have a slumber party on Robin's living room floor.
