Touko's head was spinning as she quickly looked at her girlfriend; and then over at her best friend, then back at her girlfriend, then back at her best friend.
"If you keep doing that Touko then you are going to break your neck." Sayaka sighed as she calmly took a sip of her tea.
Yuu placed a hand on Touko's bony shoulder. "Dear seriously can you just calm down."
"You have to be kidding me right now." Touko finally stopped turning her head sideways. She landed her deep glare at her brunette best friend. "You are lying to me Sayaka Saeki!" Her hands clenched at her sides.
"I'm not lying to you. " Sayaka raised her right hand. "Neither is Yuu."
"Then why am I just finding out now?!" Touko demanded. "Why now?"
"Figured you had a right to know." Sayaka took another sip of her tea.
"Yuu and I have been together for six years now Sayaka. I know that you are angry that I chose her over you. But ..." Touko spat out.
Sayaka leaned forward placing her tea cup onto the table. "Be very careful the next words that come out of that mouth of your Touko." Her eyes never leaving the fire in the brunnette's eyes.
"Why did you wait so long to tell me." Touko shook her head. "Why years?"
Sayaka sighed deeply as she sat back against the chair's back. "You deserve the understandable confusion."
"We honesty didn't mean to keep it from you this long; Touko." Yuu spoke up. "Just it was very awkward in the beginning. When I first met you. When I sensed Sayaka's feelings for you. Then her telling me her feelings for you." She sighed. "Then ..."
"Then all the confusion over our true feelings for one another." Touko finished softly as she looked into her girlfriend's eyes. "I understand the first year. Even the second year." She sighed. "But the four remaining years are hard to understand."
"Well year three we were in our second year of university and Yuu was just starting her first year," Sayaka spoke up. "I met Haru and was dealing with all that."
Touko snicked.
"At least you can laugh about it." Sayaka replied rolling her eyes.
"I still can't believe you didn't see that she was my twin, Sayaka." Yuu couldn't help her own snicker.
"Honesty thought Yuu's neck was going to break off when she first met Haru." Touko's giggled.
Yuu swatted her girlfriend's shoulder.
"At least I didn't sleep with her." Sayaka softly said. She leaned forward and picked up her teacup once more. She needed something soothing to settle her stomach at the thought of her formal girlfriend.
Yuu looked over at the brunette. "I'm sorry Sayaka. I know that you deeply cared for her. That you still do deeply care for her."
Touko sighed deeply. "I'm sorry Sayaka. I shouldn't have laughed."
"It doesn't matter anymore." Sayaka took another sip of her tea. "I see what you mean Touko. We should have simply told you that Yuu was my cousin back on the first day in the student council room."
"Have you kept in touch?" Yuu asked her cousin.
"I'm never going to see her again." Sayaka forcefully said. "Even texting her is too hard."
"Sayaka ..." Yuu stood to her feet and moved over so she could slip into the chair next to her older cousin. Wrapping her arms around the brunette. "I'm sorry Sayaka." She softly spoke in her cousin's ear. "I know you are still hurt."
Sayaka leaned into her shorter cousin's neck. "I just really liked her. I haven't felt that way since the first moment I set eyes on Senpi." Tears sparkled in her eyes.
How did I never even guess at the relationship these two have? I mean I did witness that cozy scene in the woods at the play rehearsal camp. I was just happy that Sayaka was finally starting to warm up to Yuu. Touko watched with gentle eyes at the two cousins taking comfort in each other in the chair next to her place on the couch. She wanted to wrap Sayaka up in her arms also ... but she knew that Sayaka just needed her cousin's embrace.
Yuu kissed the top of her older cousin's head. "Don't close your heart Saya." She husked.
"I'll try not to." Sayaka closed her eyes. "I'll try not to."
