Crowe burst into Noctis's apartment, her irritation palpable in the air. The boys and Noctis had been at the table playing card games. Nyx had wanted to join, but Noctis was adamant that Nyx should stay in bed. Noctis smiled behind her hand of cards. "Nyx Medical Room," she responded, watching with delight as Crowe headed toward the Nyx Medical Room. The door closed behind her, and the card game came to a halt.
"I can't believe how reckless you can be!" Crowe's voice seethed with frustration and worry.
Nyx tried to play it down. "It wasn't that bad, Crowe."
Crowe shot him a withering, disapproving glare. "Not that bad?! You jumped in front of a charging Behemoth, Nyx! You could've been killed!"
Nyx sighed, rubbing the back of his head. It had been three days since he got fixed up. While he loved Noctis, she couldn't cook at all. Ignis had been a lifesaver on that one, coming up with meals that he could actually handle. "Come on, it's not that bad," he tried to say, but Crowe's glare deepened.
"Nyx, you got in the way of a 69-foot creature that weighs about 173 tons. You're lucky that all you had happened were those wounds!" Crowe was furious. Outside the room, listening to this were Noctis and the boys.
"Man, I'd hate to be in Nyx's shoes right now," Prompto commented with a nervous chuckle. "Did you see the look on Crowe's face? She's seriously mad!"
"Yes, but that reckless attitude of his is bound to get him killed one day," Ignis remarked, studying his cards thoughtfully.
"Nyx is tough, though. He can handle it," Gladiolus added with a hint of admiration in his voice.
"Yeah, but I wish he'd think more about how Noctis feels," Ignis said, laying down his cards. "Flush."
Noctis grinned triumphantly and laid down her cards. "Royal straight flush," she declared, prompting groans from the boys.
"How are you so good at this, Noctis? You've gotta be cheating," Prompto accused, eyeing her suspiciously. Noctis simply smirked, her confidence shining through. "Anyway, it's been what, three days? How long will this take for him to heal this time?" he questioned.
Ignis pushed his glasses up onto his face. "If all goes well, and Noctis makes sure he drinks the potion once every day, it should be four more days."
"Good, he's starting to get annoying. Won't stop touching anything and complaining about the lack of game systems and television," Noctis commented, annoyance in her voice. Nyx should be resting instead.
Back in the room, Nyx quietly listened as Crowe's scolding went on. "And to top it off, do you know how worried you make Noctis?" She questioned.
"Come on, princess is used to it," he replied. And that was probably not the best thing to say.
"Used to it? Nyx, that's not what a healthy relationship should be. You shouldn't have a girlfriend who is 'used' to you appearing injured. She's your goddamn girlfriend, not your doctor!"
Outside in the living room, everyone kept listening. They turned to look at Noctis, who was planning her next move. "What, I'm just used to it," she shrugged. "Flush," she laid down her hand. Everybody ignored that and looked at her.
"Crowe is right, Noctis. This can't be good for your mental state," Ignis voiced his concern. Noctis only shrugged again.
"Actually, it's really good for my mental state. At least then, I know he's returned alive from the front line. Besides, it was a freak accident. Nyx normally has the field medics look at him before coming to my apartment so I can help him with his smaller wounds," she responded.
"Look, Noct buddy, I love your guys' relationship. I mean, you've been making lovesick puppy eyes at Nyx since you were sixteen. But Crowe is right. You shouldn't be used to seeing him injured," Prompto said. And it wasn't wrong. Everyone loved the relationship between Princess Noctis and Kingsglaive Nyx. It was in gossip magazines, celebrity websites, and the daily Insomnia newspaper. King Regis had given his approval.
"I'm going to agree, Noctis. I think perhaps you guys should re-evaluate what is and isn't okay," Gladiolus commented.
"Look, guys, it's fine. Our relationship is fine and healthy," Ignis raised an eyebrow at the healthy comment. "Okay, so our relationship is anything but normal, but so what. We're not normal people. Nyx is a Kingsglaive, I'm a princess," she responded. The next second, Crowe opened the door and stepped out. The anger on her face was still there.
"Noctis, if Nyx gives you trouble and pulls a stupid act like this, give me a call. You can also slap him in the back of his head if you want," she told Noctis, who gave a lazy wave in return. She left the apartment, and Noctis got up from her chair. She heads to Nyx's room and shuts the door behind her.
"Hopefully, Noctis has given thought about what she said. Sometimes, that laid-back attitude is more hindrance than help. Her adapting to situations quickly is nice, but she must see that what they have going isn't healthy." Ignis commented, whipping his glasses off a smear.
Inside the room, the two lovers stare into each other's eyes. "Heard how badly Crowe chewed you out." Noctis commented. Nyx sighed, sitting up some more and scratching the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Well, I think she's right princess. Look, I've been relying on you a bit too much for my injuries. I'm not saying I'm not going to be reckless, but I think I'll try not to come to you as often with injuries. Maybe a cut or scrape, tiny things that a band could do with." Nyx admitted. He was reckless, not stubborn, and he knew that Crowe had a point. It wasn't healthy that Nyx relied on Noctis to help with his injuries.
"Well, if you go to the hospital, at least get them to call my cell. I don't want to worry that you died on the battlefield." Noctis told him, voice worried. She walked over to Nyx, who just smiled. The next second, Nyx had grabbed her, and she was now straddling him.
"Come on, princess, you know I'm worth the wait." He slyly told her, breath close to her lips. They were just inches apart, and all Noctis had to do was move forward. She did, and their lips connected. They kissed for what
felt like forever but was only forty seconds before they pulled apart.
"I don't know, hero, your princess might just decide to put you in house arrest and handcuff you." Noctis whispered in his ear. This caused Nyx to chuckle.
"Well, aren't you kinky. Who would have known? Princess Noctis is into handcuff play." He joked, this earned him a poke not at his wound but close to it. The part still bruised. Nyx jumped in pain, and Noctis got off and moved away.
"Anyways, Ignis says you'll be in bedrest for four days if you keep taking the potion. Then you can leave. That way, I don't have to hear your incessant whining about my lack of a TV and game system in this room." She informed him. Nyx only chuckled.
"Well, next time, I'll be bringing you a TV and game system for a gift. I could probably convert this room into an entertainment room since I won't be using it." Noctis snorted at Nyx, saying that.
"I'll believe it when I see it." She said. She walked to the door about to close it before she heard Nyx's voice.
"Thanks, Noctis, for worrying and always being there. Love you." He told her. Noctis's face lit up bright red. The rare moments when Nyx was genuine were always able to get Noctis to blush.
"Well, I am your girlfriend." She simply responded, shutting the door. If she had stayed longer, she would have heard Nyx say,
"Yeah, you are. Best damn girlfriend, I ever had."
This is a continuation of the previous one. This time we have Noctis who might be a cheater at cards, and I introduce Crowe. Anyways I hope you enjoyed it. if you did tell me in the comments about what I did right.
