Author's Note: Hello everyone, here we are with another chapter. I hope you all enjoy. Please read and review generously. I hope you all enjoy it. I thank you all for your support and your reviews; it all helps.
Well, I have bad news. Updates for this fic will be… sporadic or slow to say the least. I got a big financial situation along with health situations to deal with. Not only that, might be going back to college sometime next year… and other stories are in the pipeline. Some days, I lost interest with writing. And some days, I realize writing is a tool to destress and combat boredom.
Regardless, I have not given up writing, nor will I be deleting stories on . I will just be focusing and prioritizing which stories matter. I hope you all enjoy this chapter. It will be short but sweet. Without further ado, let us begin.
Chapter Eleven- There is the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms
The trek that Naruto and Rhaenyra were on to find the White Stag that represented kingship, power, and nobility was not going well. Seconds had turned to minutes and minutes had turned into long hours. There were no tracks to follow and no special markings to indicate where the White Stag made its home. The creature itself was looking more like a rumor; something ethereal, and difficult to discover. Naruto even wondered if there was even a White Stag.
Another party was also searching for this illustrious creature. One was the King's party under the urging of Otto Hightower who wished to find this creature to convince the king that his son Aegon was the one to rule the Seven Kingdoms. However, even they were having no such luck. Naruto shook his head at the notion that the discovery of an illustrious creature meant you had the right to rule.
To rule, to be a leader meant so much more than just power or having access to symbols of power. While having power was a good thing, you needed to have the people on your side. If you were acknowledged by the people, you could be the one the world needed to be a leader. Being King or Queen was no guarantee of ever being worthy.
Naruto had no idea if Rhaenyra would ever be accepted. People were fickle, short-sighted, and ruled by their own bias and foolishness. Not to mention the sheer fact that no one was capable of accepting a woman for a ruler. It was not like Konoha where a female Kage was acceptable. Westeros was nothing but a cesspool, and Naruto did indeed regret ending up in this shithole.
It was up to him to make sure that Rhaenyra could be accepted as a leader. First came the nobles, and then the people. If this illusive White Stag could be found, perhaps it would lend legitimacy to Rhaenyra's claim and show that either man or woman had the chance to rule. However, the actual matter of rule was a different topic entirely. Shit could go sideways at any moment. And one simple mistake would give your enemies a chance to ruin everything you worked for.
Night was soon to fall upon them and with Criston Cole silently behind them on horseback, the three decided to find a place to make camp. Criston Cole took the first watch for the night as Naruto had gotten a fire started and cooked what he had hunted; a wild rabbit, and some vegetables he had brought from King's Landing.
Naruto had passed some food to Cole as he ate in gratitude and resumed watch. Naruto and Rhaenyra ate in silence as the time passed. However, Rhaenyra had questions on her mind and she hoped she could get an answer.
"Naruto… will you be honest with me?"
Naruto looked at her. "About what?"
"Do you think the people of King's Landing will ever accept me as their Queen? Do you think Westeros will be able to accept me?"
Naruto shrugged his shoulders. "I… I do not know anything about that. I have noticed that King's Landing and the people living inside of it are fickle. The Wardens who came to swear their oaths… I am not sure if their heart was ever in it. People are playing their own games and making their own plots."
"I don't like this world and I don't like this place. People are playing a game to see who can sit on an ugly chair. I wonder what is so great about that chair that makes people do crazy things for it. It would be better. Then again, I shudder to think what kind of world would be made if Otto Hightower got his way."
"I have no idea if people will accept you. You have to prove to them you are worthy. For that to happen, you got to preform deeds that get you noticed. And then there is prejudice and biased thinking that will take decades to truly overcome. It's a hard road. And then, there is Targaryen Prophecy and dreams, which is a topic for another time."
Rhaenyra stayed silent. And then she spoke the question which plagued her mind for a time. "Do you regret coming here?"
Naruto tilted his head and sighed. He figured out the hidden meaning of that question. Rhaenyra was asking him if he regretted meeting her.
"I have no answer that could you bring you any comfort, Rhaenyra. I am not saying this because I regret meeting you. I am saying this because I genuinely do not know the answer. I had a completely different life with a different set of goals. And then I met all of you and I gained a mother and she died. She died because of the foolish expectations of society. She bled to death, her child ripped from her body and her husband married somebody else."
Rhaenyra was silent when she heard this. No matter the passage of time, she was not sure she would ever get over the fact that her mother died before time… and the way she died. It was a harrowing truth that made her realize that women in Westeros did not have real power.
"I grew up without family. I had to take care of myself for a long time. I was always alone. There were very few who cared for me. I know what it is like to be alone. And then, I came to this world. I met all of you… and I had a mother again, for a brief moment. I finally felt what it was like to be cared for by a mother."
"And then… she was taken from me. She died to fulfill a dream that no one could truly understand or comprehend. She suffered and died in agony, and that decision was made by her husband, the King. You cannot understand… the anger and rage I feel. Sometimes, I feel like if I let go, it would consume everything."
Rhaenyra understood this feeling all to well. Somedays, she truly wished to leave it all behind, to go away and disappear into the countryside and live life in peace. However, she truly believed that she was the right person to rule. She could not leave, not with Otto Hightower and Alicent weaving their plots in the background and whispering their brand of poison in her father's ear.
"I made a promise to your mother, Rhaenyra. I made a promise to protect you and watch over you. And I take that promise. It is a promise made to a mother. And that is a promise that must never be broken. Your path is hard and difficult. There will be little joy in it. To rule is a challenge in itself. You will have to endeavor to make the people accept you. It will not be easy. Finding this illustrious creature is the first step. And then… you will have to figure out how to play this game and make your own moves."
"Play the game? I thought you hated this game."
Naruto tilted his head. "I hate this fucking world. I hate this game of politics and drama for a fucking chair that means nothing. I hate that the power that I have means absolutely nothing when it truly matters. However, I am stuck here. And… I do not regret meeting you at all. I just wish things could be better. However, life is not easy and we have to hope for the courage to live a difficult life."
"Get some sleep. We will look for the stag tomorrow."
Naruto closed his eyes and lay down on the soft earth as Rhaenyra was lost in her thoughts. She understood Naruto's pain, she truly did. And it warmed her heart that he did not regret meeting her. She hoped that this truth would one day help Naruto to understand her feelings for him.

The light of the morning sun had woken Rhaenyra from her sleep. She looked around and saw neither Naruto nor Criston Cole and thought they may have gone hunting. Stretching her limbs, she decided to use this opportunity to take a small walk and search for the White Stag, and would return shortly.
As she walked inside the forest, she gripped her blade in joy and saw something else that would have to do for now. It was fresh quarry in the form of an abnormally large, wild boar; it was bigger than any boar she had seen before.
She took her hand away from her blade and pulled out her bow and arrows. As soon as she did, she saw the boar turn around and look at her. She had never seen such eyes before, eyes full of hate and malevolence. Perhaps… this forest was enchanted in some way. Perhaps… this was the forest where the Stag was hiding.
The boar had screamed and then began racing towards her, intent on goring her. Rhaenyra closed an eye and let loose an arrow. The arrow hit its mark… and then bounced off the tough skin to her shock and surprise. She barely moved to the side and narrowly avoided a fatal hit as she was struck hard. She was in the air and fell to the ground in pain.
She gingerly opened her eyes to see the boar waiting, huffing, preparing itself for the kill shot. It was goading her, challenging her, wanting to see what she would do. Rhaenyra had enough. She was unable to vocalize her rage, and her pain. She had no idea if Naruto would ever accept her feelings. And worst of all, she grew tired of this duty and responsibility that she did not want. This boar would feel her fucking wrath!
Rhaenyra pulled out her sword and assumed a stance. It was silence as both locked eyes with one another, daring the other to make the final move. When a leaf had fallen on the ground, they both sprang into action. Rhaenyra practically sprinted forward as the Boar rushed forward, ready to gut her. And then, Rhaenyra dropped her speed for a brief moment and moved to the side with her blade out, unleashing a perfect strike as the boar went down, howling in agony.
Rhaenyra then pounced on the boar, and with a scream, began tearing it apart with a dagger. Warm blood splashed her face, but she still kept going. Her tears mixed with the blood as she tore this creature apart. At last, she took her pound of flesh and then turned around as her jaw dropped.

It was the White Stag itself. The illustrious symbol of royalty had appeared, looking regal and majestic. Rhaenyra dropped her dagger and simply stared at the creature. The Stag was indeed white with such powerful looking horns and piercing eyes that seemed to look deep into her soul. It stood there for a moment as Rhaenyra was frozen. She had no idea what to do. The Stag approached her, walking around her, observing her soul. Rhaenyra sat there, transfixed, wondering what was to happen.
The Stag looked at the boar and then at Rhaenyra. And then, after a moment that seemed like eternity, the Stag lowered itself as it wanted Rhaenyra to ride it. Rhaenyra stood there, unsure of what she should do.

"This was a risky move, Naruto. The princess could have been killed. And I could have been drawn and quartered. This was a bold gambit indeed." Criston Cole was astounded by Naruto's plan to watch over Rhaenyra… and he was even more astonished that the White Stag appeared and wanted Rhaenyra to ride it. This was going to send waves across Westeros.
Naruto shrugged. "Do not be such a worrywart. It turned out just fine. Nothing was going to happen to her. Let's go back to the King. Rhaenyra Targaryen is about to freak everyone out with something that has not been seen in a long time."

Naruto was truly right. Decked out in boar blood, and sitting atop the White Stag, Rhaenyra rode right into camp. And everyone, from the noblest of ladies to the highest of lords where staring at Rhaenyra, gob smacked at what she had accomplished. She looked like a King of Old… no… she looked like Visenya Targaryen reborn.
Rhaenyra unleashed her sword as the Stag raised its feet in the air. The people from House Strong simply clapped in joy, and everyone else did as well. Otto Hightower was the picture of hidden rage, his plans failing once again. As for his daughter, there was hate and venom in her eyes at seeing Rhaenyra's victory. Once again, Rhaenyra had won. And if not for laws and decorum and society… she would have left, stewing in her rage. All she could do was standby as mere spectator.
Viserys was astounded and shocked as Naruto walked up to him and spoke. "There's the Queen. That's the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms."
Viserys could only nod. The sun shined on Rhaenyra and she smiled, a genuine smile borne of sheer joy. And she looked to Naruto, who smiled back at her. And Alicent watched all this, clenching her fists in rage. She would not let Rhaenyra win, she would not.
