Chapter 25: Cafe

Tomoyo is scanning her menu intensely and deciding what to eat for dinner with her friends.

Kero closed his menu hard and looked at Meiling and Tomoyo impatiently. Tomoyo looks up and makes eye contact with Kero.

"Are you ready?" Kero said, tapping his foot under the table impatiently. Tomoyo could not help but start laughing.

Kero stopped tapping his foot and looked at Tomoyo confusedly. Meiling peaks above her menu and looks at Tomoyo and Kero laughing. She thought to herself 'Cousin Eriol needs to keep an eye on Kero too.' She pressed a few buttons on her phone to her cousin.

Eriol was in the office briefly and looked at the Meiling message. He chuckles at how protective Meiling is of his relationship with Tomoyo. He gets up from his chair and starts to walk into the cafe where everyone was waiting. He sits down next to Tomoyo and caresses Tomoyo's hair. Tomoyo briefly looks at him and back at the menu. Meilin smirks at Eriol's possessiveness. He was very subtle in his just smiles at Meiling and helps Tomoyo to decide.

Syaoran opens the doors to the cafe and sees Eriol, Tomoyo, Meilin, and Kero at a table. Syaoran squints his eyes. He really didn't want to go towards them. Sakura runs into Syaoran's back. Sakura was starting to think Syaoran doesn't know how to walk properly. Sakura quickly peeks over Syaoran's shoulder and sees everyone. She pushes Syaoran against the wall and runs up to their table.

"Tomoyo, Eriol, Meilin, Kero! You're all here!" Sakura said excitedly.

Syaoran started to think that Sakura has some unusual strength. Eriol could not help to see his cousin sprawled on the ground. He chuckles at Syaoran and Sakura catches Eriol looking behind her.

She turns around and her eye's widen. She doesn't think she had done that if she recalled. She comes up to Syaoran, "Syaoran what happened to you?"

Syaoran just looks at her in disbelief. "Y-you!" He starts but is quickly interrupted by Meilin.

"Sakura! Syaoran can be clumsy. Don't mind him." she said as she tugged for Sakura to sit down. Syaoran huffs and glares behind Sakura and Meiling's backs as they walk away from him.

Syaoran got up from the floor to join the others.

Meiling asks, "How was your first date?" She said excitedly. She grabs Sakura's hands as she waits for her response.

Sakura was speechless and didn't respond right away. "Our date," she starts, "it was good." She was being truthful as it was fun to get away from Hua, but without the chasing around they did have a joyful date. "I am surprised how Syaoran could take me on a great date." she accidentally said out loud. She just realized she said that outloud.

Syaoran's ears turn red from Sakura's blunt honesty of their date. Sakura's face turns a bright cherry tomato and she gets up and nods her head furiously. She runs to the bathroom with embarrassment.

Syaoran looks down and doesn't look at the others. Eriol was intrigued that his cousin was so shy from Sakura's outburst.

Tomoyo looked at Eriol and smiled at him. Eriol looks away from Syaoran and catches Tomoyo's eyes. She blushes from their eye contact and looks up at him.

"Eriol, I have decided on what we should be eating today." She smiled brightly at him. She pointed at her menu and saw that Tomoyo wrote a note on a piece of paper. 'You should send this lovely couple to a private room' and Eriol nods his head. Eriol looks around and sees that everyone is ready to order.

He wanted to make it special for Sakura and Syaoran. He agreed that they were still on a date but needed another nudge.

"Syaoran, how rude of us. I have a great room for you and Sakura. It is very private." He smiled at Syaoran.

Sakura had just come back from the restroom and stopped midair. "W-what? R-room?" she exclaimed with her eyes wide open.

Syaoran slowly looks up at Eriol and nonchalantly stares at Eriol for a minute. He didn't know why but it did seem overcrowded for his tasting here.

"Yes, Syaoran distastes being in an open public area when eating." Eriol explained moving his eye contact to Sakura.

Syaoran looks at Eriol with suspicion. He never had this issue in his life before. He knew his cousins were up to no good.

Sakura slowly sat down and nodded her head. She sighs in relief. She thought Eriol was talking about another room. She covers her face behind the menu and takes a drink of her cold glass of water.

Meiling laughs and Kero scowls at the mention of them moving to an exclusive room.

"Sakura? I don't think you should be alone in a room with Syaoran as it seems the date is ov–ouch!" Kero started, but was pinched by Meiling. He quickly sneers at Meiling.

Meiling clears her throat and pipes in, "Sakura, I think it is a great idea. Who knows if Hua shows up here. She would know the lovely couple were out in the open and start—"

After some careful thought, Syaoran interrupts, "Okay, where is this room?" Eriol waves at one of his attendants to show Syaoran and Sakura to the room. He walks away from the table and turns to look at Sakura. He nods his head for her to follow him.

Sakura sighs. She didn't want to continue following him. If she knew it would be so tiring to date someone, she would have said no. She stares at Tomoyo and Meiling, she was hoping they would say something to stop her from following Syaoran. But all she saw was Eriol and Tomoyo laughing and giggling. Meiling looking at her phone fixing her hair. Kero looked up at her and at the menu. She had no hope for her friends. She squinted at them and thought 'I will remember this' She followed Syaoran to the room.

Kero wanted to say something but his stomach growled from hunger. He looks at Eriol, "Eriol, I know we just met but could we get some food on this table soon." He had lost his thoughts when it came to the point of hunger. It was his only weakness.

Eriol chuckles and waves at another attendant to take their order.

Meiling giggles in excitement and visualizes stomping on Hua and is laughing in victory. Meiling thoughts were broken when a text message popped on her phone.

'Hello' Mysterious Id

Meiling deleted the message. She rolled her eyes and she knew this id was Su Lan. He constantly would text from a different phone number. She had not responded and wanted to continue ignoring him. From the corner of her eyes she saw a body sitting next to her where Sakura was sitting prior. When she looked up she was shocked. She looked at her phone and back to him.

"Y-You." She exclaimed, pointing at him, "what are you doing here?"

The person smiles at Meiling and replies, "you have not been texting me back. I thought I should visit you in person instead."

Meiling scoffs and is about to get up. But Su Lan grabs her phone, and types in his phone number and name on her phone.

"Make sure to respond to me or I will come to you." Su Lan starts and winks at the rest of the party and walks away.

"Y-You can't do this!" Meiling exclaimed, pointing at him. She raises her hand getting ready to throw her phone at him. But she stopped midair and thought, 'No, not my precious phone.'

She just felt so irritated that this guy kept showing up around her. Eriol looks at the whole show that had just appeared before them. He couldn't help but burst out in laughter.

"You! Shut up!" Meiling cries pointing at Eriol, "Tomoyo stopped your boyfriend!"

Tomoyo looks at Eriol and smiles, "Meiling, it seems like you have a suitor." She teased Meiling.

Meiling eyes widened, and realized that Su Lan was interested in her? She starts to shake her head and cries, " . no. Please no." She clutches her head and begs everyone to help her get rid of him.

Eriol looks at Meiling, "You know there is a way to possibly get rid of him" He starts. Meiling looks at him with hope for a solution, " You could just date him and show him your terrible side."

Meiling scoffs at the idea. She had no idea what Eriol was talking about. She is a wonderful person. Anyone would be lucky to date her. An idea had popped in her head and she looked at Kero who had started to stuff his face with food. She cringed from this guy, she thought he was a good person to pretend to be dating. But after seeing him stuff his face like it was no world she changed her mind.

"I will think about it," She replied. She had no hopes for any other possibility. She then comes up with another idea and looks at Kero again. Kero after eating felt like his mind was at ease and realized a pair of eyes were observing him.

"Uh, yes?" He said to Meiling.

"KERO! TEACH ME HOW TO BE A SLOB" Meiling exclaimed.

"S-SLOB?!" Kero exclaimed, jumping out of his seat. He scoffed and looked at his food he had just stuffed in his face and sighs. "No Way! I am not a slob"

Eriol and Tomoyo started to laugh hysterically.

Eriol looks at his phone as it just vibrates. He saw a text from Wei reaching out to him that Hua had urgently left for China. He taps on the edge of his glasses in a deep thought. Tomoyo nudged him and wanted to see what was going on in head. Eriol shakes away from his thoughts and smiles at Tomoyo.

Meiling received a text message from Yelan stating that they have just started stealing contracts from Hua's family. This should give them time for Syaoran to sprout some feelings for Sakura. Meiling gleefully giggles. She couldn't help but think about what Su Lan said to her. She didn't know why he was so obsessed with getting to know her. She wanted nothing to do with him.

Meanwhile in the private room. Sakura plumps down next to the table. She slouches and stares deeply at the door. Sakura gave a deep sigh and kept staring at the door in regret for being on this fake date.

Syaoran could not help but laugh. He felt that this girl had a different spectrum of moods. He felt that there is more to what meets the eye. Sakura's eyes quickly shifted to him when she heard him laughing.

"What is so funny?" She asked, not amused by his expression. She blew her bangs up when she was huffing and puffing.

Syaoran stops laughing and reviews the menu. Sakura observes him as he looks over the menu. His eyes focus on the menu and his pupil dilates looking darker and mysterious. His features just always make him look more appealing and strong.

He flips a page and says "if you continue looking at me this way. One may think that you actually like me." He smirked at the thought and suddenly felt giddy at the thought.

Sakura scoffed at his comment. "You! You would have to be that last person on Earth before I would like you." She rolls her eyes at him. "Are you done reviewing the menu!"

Syaoran throws the menu on the table and replies dryly, "Just order whatever you want."

Sakura disliked how he was so nonchalant, but her stomach started to grumble. She was a foodie at heart and loves eating food. She remembers eating the meaty sticks earlier. She suddenly licked her lips at the thought of it.

Syaoran saw her lick her lips and felt very hot. He clears his throat in feeling uncomfortable seeing her lick her lips.

Sakura heard him clear his throat and remembered that she was at the cafe. She pouts her face in thinking hard. She wanted him to pay back for getting her in all this mess. She smiles and says, "I want this, this, and this." she pointed eagerly.

"Is that all?" Syaoran replied, looking at her intensely.

"Also this, this, and this!" she said excitedly.

Syaoran was starting to catch on to what Sakura was doing. He smiles at her and says "Okay" He rings for the waiter to come to take their order and he urges Sakura to make the order.

She points at all the food that she wanted from the menu. She smiled and suddenly thought 'Syaoran isn't that bad.' She started to feel guilty from order all the food from the menu.

Syaoran made his order and waved for the waiter to be dismissed.

"It seems that Miss Hua has left for overseas now. We don't need to keep going with this charade for now." Syaoran said, sipping on his tea.

Sakura sighs in relief. Sakura smiles at the thought of not seeing that smirk on his face every time he had sass to say to her. Syaoran looks at Sakura and sees her smiling at him.

Sakura's phone rang suddenly. She went to grab her phone when Syaoran saw a glimpse of her background picture. He wasn't sure if it was perhaps the same exact photo but he felt that it was the same. He suddenly thought about that little girl again and could not help but think perhaps Sakura was the little girl. He suddenly grabbed Sakura's phone and looked at the picture again. Sakura was taken by surprise when Syaoran grabbed her phone suddenly.

"What are you doing!" Sakura exclaimed.

Syaoran eagerly looked at Sakura's phone for the picture. But found it was just a picture of her family. He could have sworn that he had seen the picture of that little girl. He felt disappointed, and gave her phone back. Sakura snatched back her phone angrily.

She couldn't believe this guy. She was kind enough to pretend to be his girlfriend for the day. She glares at him. She had never hated a guy as much as him. He wasn't a nice guy at all.

The food had arrived to break her intense thoughts. She sniffed the food and heard her stomach growl.

She started to eat the food while Syaoran was looking over his phone. His sisters and Mother were messaging him. He was getting annoyed with their messages asking him how his date with Sakura was.

Syaoran looked at Sakura and pondered for a moment. He was having difficulty with the Elders and needed a girl that would be presentable. He remembers Sakura is the granddaughter of Masaki Amamiya. Sakura had a strong backer. He ate his meal quietly thinking of his next move against the Hua family.

"I am so stuffed!" Sakura exclaimed, breaking his thoughts.

Syaoran smiles. "That is great, how did you want to split this bill?"

"S-Split?!" She exclaimed. She looked at him with disbelief.

"You didn't think this was a date right?" Syaoran said, looking at his phone.

Sakura scoffs at him and rummages through her purse. She starts to shake her purse to see if she had some spare change anywhere. She wanted to cry, she had used her card on the bus. But could not find her card. She must had left her card on the bus when they rushed out.

Syaoran was happy to see her struggle. After a few minutes of her feeling frustrated he replied, "How about this you can owe me another favor. I don't mind paying for this meal."

Sakura thought 'another favor. Not another date with t-this monster.' Sakura looked up at him and wanted to plead with him.

"Can't you let me go this one time?" She said with puppy eyes.

Syaoran looks at her and laughs at her behavior. "No." He replied confidently.

Sakura squints at him with distaste. Her phone beeps at her. She looks at him for a long time before pulling up her phone to look at who messages her.

The message came from Eriol. "Don't worry about the meal, it is on the house" Sakura frustrated distaste to a bright grin.

"Don't try to scam me, Syaoran." She said grinning ear to ear.

Syaoran looks confused. He thought about it and knew his cousin had texted her and disrupted his plan to get her to go on a date again when Hua came to him.

"Well, I should take you home." Syaoran said, looking at the window away from her. Sakura had felt like she won a war and held her head up high.

"I don't need you to take me home." She thought her friends were here and they would be able to take her home. She also felt that Syaoran may try to scam her again for another favor.

"I won't ask you for a favor. I am not a rude person. I want to make sure my date gets home safely." Syaoran replied.

Sakura scrunches up her nose in distrust, "Fine." she said defeatedly.

Sakura and Syaoran get up and walk towards the door when these two tickets slides under the door. Sakura looks at Syaoran confusedly. She picks up the tickets and see they were two tickets to a new interactive museum nearby.

A note was with the tickets.

'My dearest Cousin,

I had meant to use these tickets to take Tomoyo. But unfortunately, I am not able to attend the event tonight. You and Sakura can use these tickets. I heard Sakura had wanted to go to this interactive museum. Please take her to this as this is their last night of showing.

Syaoran looks at the note silently. He just wanted to go home and be done with this date. Sakura was looking at the tickets excitedly. She had wanted to go to this interactive museum but it was sold out when she reviewed the website. She smiles at Syaoran. Syaoran's mind had gone blank when he saw Sakura smiling at him. She rushed up to him and said excitedly, "It wouldn't hurt to check this out right?" She grabs his hand to try to convince him to go to this event.

Syaoran was used to rejecting girls and would flaunt all over him back in China. But Sakura looked so genuine and a small smile appeared on his face. His heart beats fast as Sakura has laid her hand on his hand.

"We can stop by for a short visit." Syaoran said.

Sakura smiles and looks back at the tickets that Eriol had given them.

Sakura grabs Syaoran's hand and pulls him to go outside. She was overly excited to check out this interactive museum.

Sakura is pulling Syaoran out in a rush. They had rushed out of the restaurant so fast. The group of friends saw Sakura holding Syaoran's hand out of the restaurant.

Meiling food on her fork drops on her plate that broke the silence among the group of friends. 'Oh my gosh, what great news to tell Auntie Yelan' She whips out her phone and starts to text Auntie Yelan.

Tomoyo smiles at Eriol's craftiness. "Did you do something?" Tomoy asked Eriol.

Eriol laughs and replies, "Just a little nudge."

They laugh as they knew that this first date was still going even when Sakura and Syaoran wanted it to end.

Kero finishes his meal and realizes, "What happened to Sakura and Syaoran?" He hadn't noticed they had left the table. The group laughs and continues on their meals.
