This was my longest chapter at 13,882 words for a little while until I wrote a 13,887-word chapter for my Sunday/Pico fic on Ao3 (you should go read it, it's better than this)
Monday, 8:20 A.M
"Well well, I heard there were some new exchange students for this school. I heard the song that you sent for the audition, and it wasn't too bad," Daddy Dearest spoke, leaning back in his office chair. In front of him stood Selever and Rasazy, the former just wanting a place to stay, and the latter actually wanting to learn more about music. "For now, here are your schedules and dorm numbers. We can figure out other stuff later. But for now, enjoy your time here." He slid two papers and two keys across the table.
"Cool. I'm glad you like the song because it took us like 20 minutes to make. By the way, is there a curfew, or...?" Selever asked before Rasazy elbowed him. "Fine, let me try again. How strict are the rules here?" Selever dodged Rasazy's elbow this time with a laugh.
"Don't answer him. Thank you, Mr. Dearest. This is such a great opportunity to be at this school!" Rasazy said, pretending to be more enthusiastic than she really was. Daddy Dearest seemed to appreciate the compliments.
"Don't mention it. And please, call me Daddy," said the demon, grinning at the children.
"Yeah, I'm not doing that," Selever said as he cringed. "Uh, Can we go now?" Rasazy sighed, giving up on trying to make her brother use manners.
"There's the door," Daddy Dearest said, his grin fading as Selever spoke.
After Selever and Rasazy exited the demon's office, they shut the door and began to examine their schedules.
"Huh. The schedule has fewer classes than I thought..." Rasazy said, sounding disappointed. Selever laughed.
"You say that like it's a bad thing. I love having a shit ton of free time," Selever smirked as he admired the lack of useless classes. "Let me see yours..." He looked over at Rasazy's schedule to notice that they only had one class together: the first period.
"Shit... how am I going to keep tabs on you if we only have one class together...?" Rasazy mumbled to herself.
"Fuck you, I am a very independent man!" Selever spoke, crossing his arms. Rasazy snickered.
"Sure you are. I feel like I shouldn't have to even tell you this, but you know that no one can know we're not from this time, right?" Rasazy whispered.
"I'm not stupid, Ras. I was there when Mom told us about the dangers of time travel," Selever said. "I wasn't really listening, but I was there." Rasazy groaned.
"Okay, whatever. Just... let's just go to class." The girl rolled her eyes as they walked to their first period: Composition with Nikusa.
8:25 A.M
Sunday sat in Garcello's classroom as he told some students facts about cigarettes. She wasn't listening but was instead forced to listen to Ruv and Boyfriend arguing, and Jasmine talking on the phone beside her, presumably to the boy that doesn't even talk.
"You don't understand, my songs are experimental masterpieces!" Boyfriend explained to Ruv, who didn't even seem to care. "Works of art, if you will."
"Boyfriend, your songs are not experimental. It sounds like music I would hear on the radio. But not as good," Ruv added in the last comment just to fuck with Boyfriend, but Boyfriend didn't seem to get it. He pouted in his seat, his arms crossed.
"Boyfriend, I'm kidding. Your music is fine," The Russian added, just in case he made Boyfriend upset. Sunday raised an eyebrow.
"Ruv, that was weird of you. Were you caring about Boyfriend's feelings just now?" They asked with a small smirk. Ruv shook his head "no", but Sunday knew. They went back to listening to Jasmine talking basically to herself.
"So that's when Carlita was all like 'Jasmine, shoot these shadow people,' and I'm like 'We're literally at the gas station, why are there shadow people?' But yeah, I pulled out a gun and shot them. Then you started talking and you were being a bitch, to be honest," The Latina said into the phone with a giggle. Her phone vibrated, and she examined it with a smile on her face.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Sunday asked with a confused look. They would be concerned, but she literally hangs out with Pico, so it wasn't out of the ordinary for Sunday to hear someone talking about shooting things.
"What? I'm talking about a dream I had," Jasmine said to Sunday before going back to talking on the phone about the strange dream. Sunday was a little curious to hear more of Jasmine's dream before she could feel their phone vibrate. She pulled it out to see a text from Pico. For some reason, this made Sunday excited.
Pico: we need to talk
Well, this was strange. Sunday couldn't be sure, but to them, it felt like a serious kind of talk, and that seemed scary.
Sunday: about what
Hopefully, Pico would answer the question, and it would be something stupid, and Sunday would quit worrying. Why was she even worrying? It's not like they're actually dating...
Pico: can we meet somewhere
Oh shit.
Sunday wasn't quite an expert on relationships, but that seemed bad. Jasmine seemed to notice that Sunday was starting to look stressed and scooted their chair over to Sunday.
"What's up? You looked more scared than before," the Latina said with a slightly concerned tone. She sat her phone down by Sunday's, where Nova could be seen on FaceTime. He waved.
"It's nothing," Sunday lied, playing with a lock of their hair, refusing to look Jasmine in the eyes.
"Oh come on, you can tell me. Trust me, I can keep a secret," The Latina said with a laugh. Sunday smiled softly.
"Hmm, maybe. What about him?" They asked, motioning to Nova on Jasmine's phone. He didn't seem to be paying attention.
"Nova don't care. Plus, who's he gonna tell?" Jasmine giggled. Sunday found herself becoming more comfortable around Jasmine, and by extension, Nova. She laughed a little bit, as well. "But, if it'll make you feel better..." Jasmine picked up her phone and muted her phone's microphone. Her phone vibrated with a text from Nova.
Nova: bruh
Jasmine laughed once more when she read the text, and even showed it to Sunday.
Jaz: sorry boo, girl talk is happening now
Nova gave a thumbs-up on Jasmine's phone. Sunday sighed softly.
"Okay, so...I got a text from my friend. Er...boyfriend. Whatever, you know who I'm talking about," Sunday said, waving her hand dismissively.
"Ohhh... the orange-haired guy with the gun. You two are adorable, by the way," Jasmine commented, but let Sunday continue with the story.
"Yeah, so he texts me and says 'We need to talk', right? He even says that he wants to talk in person, and now I'm kinda scared..." Sunday admitted, looking down at her phone, where her messages with Pico were displayed on the screen. She turned the phone to show Jasmine.
"Oof. That could be good or bad. But look, he didn't use punctuation or emojis or anything. If it was serious, I think he might've made it look more... serious," Jasmine laughed softly at her poorly given advice. "Maybe you should meet up by the cafe or something so you can chat while sitting." Jasmine shrugged.
"Hmmm. I think you're right, because he always texts like that," Sunday laughed softly, finally writing a reply to Pico.
Sunday: wanna meet at the cafe
Pico: sure, right now?
Sunday: ig lol
Pico: cool see you there lmao
"What did he say?" Jasmine asked, watching Nova on her phone. He seemed to be in the middle of making a beat.
"I asked him to meet me, and he said sure. He also said "lmao," so I don't think it's serious," Sunday said with relief. They raised their hand to ask to go to the 'bathroom'.
Still 8:25 A.M
"Well, we have some new kids today, Selever and Rasazy," Nikusa said to her class, absolutely not caring. "They just let anyone in here now, huh?" Selever scoffed, but didn't reply with a snarky comment like Rasazy thought he would.
"How is she so tall?" Rasazy mumbled, admiring Nikusa's height.
"More of them?" Agoti complained from his back-row seat. Some of the students snickered. "God, there's been a lot lately, what's up with that?"
"You kinda have a point, it's been like 3 days and there's like 4 new students. Why do they come in pairs?" Sarvente asked as she took a drink from her water bottle.
"Don't forget about Boyfriend, he's still technically new!" Girlfriend chimed in.
"Trust me, I try my hardest to forget about Boyfriend," Pico sighed with a small laugh afterward. He turned towards Agoti. "Maybe it's best not to think too hard about it, Agoti. Might hurt your brain," Pico snickered. Agoti sarcastically laughed before putting on a straight face.
"Oh, that's perfect. Mom is here with us," Selever grumbled to himself. "Let's try not to sit with her."
"I'm going to sit with her because I don't want to talk to anyone else," Rasazy shrugged, going to sit with Sarvente. Selever rolled his eyes as he went to sit with Pico and Agoti.
"Oh yeah, take your seats or whatever," Nikusa added as she sat down at the desk, where her height while sitting was Selever's height when standing. He made a mental note to make a stupid joke about her height later during the class.
"So, what's up with this school?" Selever asked the two boys near him. He saw that they had their phones out, and got jealous that in his time, Sarvente wouldn't let him have one for whatever reason.
Agoti looked up at the kid, keeping his phone in his hand. "It's kinda chill, except the owners are assholes. That's basically it, just make music and perform sometimes. Your name was Selever, right?" Selever nodded.
"Yup. I think… you're Agoti, right? I think I've heard some of your shit," Selever said. When he was back in his time, his father showed him the yearbook from the school and the music that was made by the students. Agoti's music was among the ones that Ruv showed his son.
"Hell yeah. The only and only," Agoti said, crossing his arms. Pico cringed loudly.
"Please, never say that again," Pico requested with a snicker.
"I don't want to hear it from you. You got caught with Sunday," Agoti laughed. Pico rolled his eyes.
"You weren't even there, you don't know what happened," Pico said in his defense. Selever was pretty curious now.
"Woah, what happened?" He asked, scooting closer to Agoti. The digidevil checked over his shoulder before leaning in.
"So we're at a dinner party, right? Pico is with his girl, and they go upstairs," Agoti began. Selever smirked as he glanced at Pico. The ginger seemed to be annoyed. "Anyways, later while we're eating, the hosts, the owners of the school, tell us that they caught Pico with three other people in a closet or something." Selever chuckled softly.
"You don't look like you would get caught in something like that," Selever spoke to Pico with a stupid grin on his face.
"You don't have the full story, and those fucking demons made it sound way worse than it was," Pico said, rolling his eyes.
"Yeah, whatever, man. Ask Jasmine and Nova, and they'll say the exact same thing: you were all in the closet, hiding from Daddy Dearest and what's-her-face… his wife," Agoti said with a laugh. Pico was over it.
"Hey! I didn't think they would let you in the school!" Sarvente said as she scooted up to Rasazy, much to the introvert's discomfort. She decided to try and make a joke, and see how that went.
"Why? I like to think I'm a talented musician…" Rasazy said with a soft smile towards Sarvente. Sarvente laughed softly.
"You know what I meant! I didn't think you'd get in because of, you know, your age," She said, noting that Rasazy looked a little young compared to everybody else.
"I guess. But my brother and I are a package deal, whether we like it or not, so they let us both in," Rasazy said as she fiddled with a book that was under the desk. She figured she would try to give Sarvente a push in the right direction to secure her and Selever's existence. "Sometimes I wish we didn't hate each other as much. Like, the relationship with your boyfriend is pretty cute and wholesome. What's his name? Ruv?" Rasazy glanced at Sarvente to see her reaction. She had a small blush on her face.
"I- He's no- uh, y-yeah…" Sarvente said, slightly stuttering. Rasazy considered that a success, and went to lay her head down on the desk. Sarvente seemed to have calmed down a bit before turning to Girlfriend.
"Is your offer of a double date still up? I think I want to ask Ruv to go..." She said to Girlfriend as the demon daughter examined herself in her phone camera. She put down the phone to look over at Sarvente with a smile.
"Of course it is! But I think I'm wanting it to be more of a group date..." Girlfriend said, stroking her chin as if in thought. She turned to Pico who was twirling scissors in his hands. Sarvente scooted back, just in case the scissors slipped out of his hands. "Pico? Do you and Sunday want to go on a little group date? With me, Boyfriend, Ruv, Nova, maybe others?"
"HELL no," Pico said immediately without hesitation, but mostly because if he was going to go on a date with Sunday, he would just want to be them. Not that he wanted to go on a date or something.
"Aw, why not? Please? If not, my dad would probably get mad at you for a bunch of reasons, probably just to find something to blame on you," Girlfriend said with a pouty face as if it was supposed to make Pico feel bad. It didn't work.
"Seriously? Name one thing your dad would be mad at for me not going to a giant group date," Pico demanded, crossing his arms with a smirk.
"If you go, I'll tell him that you ruined the moments between me and Boyfriend, like that you made us mad at each other or something. If not, he'll be mad that you let me out with Boyfriend and you didn't do anything about it. And do you know what he would do then? It would not be pretty." Girlfriend's words sounded kind, but Pico could read the subtext of what she was saying. It was basically that Pico and Sunday could suffer through a date with at least 4 or 6 other people, or have a demon who kills people be pissed at him, and potentially Sunday as well. He sighed, pulling out his phone to text Sunday the bad news.
"...when and where?" He asked, with a defeated tone of voice as he got out his phone to text Sunday. Girlfriend smiled brightly.
8:32 A.M
As Sunday paced back and forth outside of the school's cafe, she began to overthink what Pico wanted to talk about. She looked down at her feet. Many possibilities went through her head, and none of them were positive. Most of them included Pico being upset with them for whatever reason, but Sunday took a deep breath. Why would he be mad? They didn't even do anything to piss him off. When Sunday looked up, they noticed that Pico was finally walking up.
"God, what took so long? I'm gonna get in trouble for "using the bathroom" for so long," Sunday complained with a laugh as Pico slowed down until he stopped.
"Don't act like you even care. Once, you literally jumped on a teacher's desk just to protest something about capitalism," Pico snickered as he leaned against the cafe door. "I don't know how you got out of that scot-free, but whatever." Sunday rolled her eyes.
"It's 'cuz I'm too valuable to this school," Pico scoffed, but let Sunday continue to speak. She leaned against the door beside Pico. They were glad that it was locked because if it wasn't, the door would've opened. "So, what did you want to talk about?" They asked, referring to why they had met up in the first place.
"Oh right, I forgot," Pico said, losing the grin that was previously on his face. Sunday held her breath, worried that something bad happened. "Okay, so I think we have another fake date to do. Girlfriend and Boyfriend are making us go on a big-ass group date," Pico said, pretending like he wasn't happy to have an excuse to hang out with Sunday more.
"God dammit, those guys are annoying. Why didn't you decline?" Sunday asked with a laugh. Pico shrugged.
"Girlfriend threatened to get her fuckin' dad on me if we didn't go, which was a dick move on her part," The ginger grumbled. Sunday groaned softly again.
"Well, that certainly sucks. I'm probably just gonna wear the same dress as from the past two days," She laughed softly. Pico chuckled, as well.
"God, I hope you wash it. I'm not going to sit by you if you smell like shit," He said with a grin. Sunday smacked his arm, which only amused him the more that they hit him.
"Fuck you, I'm going back to class, see you in band practice," Sunday said with a grin as they turned to leave.
"You're leaving? But I just got here!" Pico yelled to her with a laugh.
"That's exactly why I'm leaving!" Sunday yelled back. Pico watched them walk away, before turning to walk the opposite way. As he turned, he bumped into a familiar digidevil.
"Damn, watch out next time instead of staring at Sunday," Aldryx snickered. "You almost fuckin' knocked me down," He laughed at his own stupid comment. Pico rolled his eyes, not bothering to look up at Aldryx.
"Ha ha, that was hilarious," Pico spoke sarcastically as he moved past Aldryx. Aldryx's smirk faded. He turned to grab Pico's shoulder.
"Hey, wait a second…" He said, sounding more serious than before. This made Pico a bit curious. The ginger turned around to face Aldryx, shrugging his hand off of his shoulder.
"Okay… I saw Daddy Dearest talking to you after the church thing yesterday. What did he say to you?" Aldryx asked, looking Pico in the eyes.
"Uh, all he wanted was to offer me a job. Something about the concert that the school will be playing at. I don't know anything else about it, why?" Pico asked, getting a bit confused. Aldryx sighed.
"He offered it to me, too. What an asshole. I don't know what he was wanting to do, but I did decline it. Shit, it was a lot of money…" Aldryx laughed softly.
"Ugh. I know," Pico chuckled softly as well. "Uh, thanks for telling me. I hope he doesn't actually go through with it… now, I kinda care about the concert…"
Aldryx snickered. "Yeah, I bet you do." Pico groaned as he began to walk back to his class.
"You and your brother both make stupid fucking jokes!" Pico yelled back to the digidevil.
8:35 A.M
"So wait, you two aren't dating? Is that what you're telling me?" Selever asked Sarvente as he refused to do whatever assignment Nikusa had placed in front of him. Sarvente and Rasazy, however, were nearly completed with it.
"I thought you already knew this?" Sarvente asked, not looking up from the assignment that lay on her desk. "You saw us at the church, I thought you would remember since it was only yesterday."
Rasazy slightly kicked her stupid brother under the desk, looking over at him. "Don't even think about trying anything," Rasazy hissed. Of course, Selever wasn't actually going to listen to her.
"Ok, so, you're going on a double date or something, right?" Selever asked his mother as he drew dumb things on the desk with a pencil. Sarvente finally looked up at him with a small smile.
"I guess I am, but I hope Ruv says yes to my offer..." Sarvente said, staring ahead with a sigh. Selever looked over to Rasazy with a shit-eating grin. Rasazy groaned softly, leaning over to Selever as Sarvente went back to work.
"Stop thinking about something dumb, because I know you are," Rasazy hissed once again, right into Selever's ear to make sure he heard. He certainly heard her, but it's not like he was listening. He had already been thinking about something dumb and was preparing to execute his plan.
"What are you talking about? I've never had a dumb thought," Selever smirked. He would wait until later to actually tell Rasazy about the dumb idea he was having since Sarvente was right here. Rasazy rolled her eyes.
"Please tell me that it doesn't have anything to do with altering the future," Rasazy spoke, trying to make sure her suspicions were false.
"It does," Selever smirked as he leaned back into his seat. He turned to Sarvente once more. "So, you gonna ask him?"
Sarvente looked back, contemplating if she was too scared or not. She exhaled, not even realizing she was holding her breath.
"Fine! I'll ask him on a date!" She said with a wide smile on her face. Rasazy sighed with relief. Selever simply snickered.
"Okay, geez, you don't gotta yell about it…"
8:36 A.M
"Okay, I was overreacting a little bit…" Sunday laughed as she sat back down near Jasmine, Boyfriend, and Ruv.
"About what?" Boyfriend asked, being really nosey. Ruv didn't seem to care either way.
"Uh, none of your business?" Jasmine said sarcastically. Boyfriend scoffed.
"Pfft. Whatever. I didn't wanna know anyways…" Boyfriend lied, crossing his arms and pouting. Sunday pretended that they didn't even hear Boyfriend whining as they went to talk with Jasmine.
"So, what did what's-his-face want to talk about?" The Latina asked as she put her phone call on mute. Sunday didn't even realize that Jasmine was still talking on the phone with her boyfriend. Or rather… Jasmine was talking on the phone, and Nova was just listening to her.
"It was actually something positive, we were invited to go on a group date with Boyfriend and Girlfriend," Sunday said, putting in an earphone that they connected to her phone. "Well, maybe it's not totally positive, but it wasn't bad, and that's good." Boyfriend looked up.
"She invited you guys? Don't you think it would be weird to have my ex there at the group date?" Boyfriend asked from his spot beside Ruv.
"I think you and Girlfriend will be the only people who make it weird," Sunday said calmly, as she put on music that was the opposite of calm. "Plus, it's not like it'll just be you, Girlfriend, and Pico. He has me now." Sunday accidentally spoke with a tone of pride as she claimed Pico, but she was going to pretend that it wasn't intentional.
"Whatever. I just won't sit by him," Boyfriend said, acting like a little child. "Uh, as for the rest… we invited Nova and Jasmine, and I think Girlfriend is talking to Sarvente about her and Ruv going." Ruv immediately straightened up when he heard what Boyfriend was saying.
"Who says I'm even going?" The Russian asked, absolutely dreading the idea of spending time with a bunch of people he didn't care about, excluding Sarvente. He was actually rather excited about the idea of a date with her. Boyfriend's smile turned into a smirk, which Ruv definitely didn't like.
"You wouldn't want to go on a date with Sarvente, even if there were a few other people there?" Boyfriend asked suggestively, hoping this would convince Ruv.
"Why wouldn't he? They obviously like each other. Make your move, already!" Jasmine interjected but was ignored by Ruv and Boyfriend.
"Yeah, whatever. It's more complicated than that," Ruv said to justify his fear of asking her on a date. He knew that he had asked before, but they never did get around it. Perhaps tonight could be the night? Just as he was beginning to overthink, his phone vibrated on the table. Jasmine immediately snatched it away before Ruv even knew what happened.
"What the hell? How did...?" Sunday asked, looking at Ruv's shocked expression before it turned to a scowl once more, trying to snatch his phone without moving from his seat.
"Don't worry about it," Jasmine laughed as she examined the notification that Ruv had gotten.
"Don't make me stand up to grab my phone," Ruv threatened, although his tone was the same as usual. It was still scary, either way. But Jasmine didn't seem to give a single fuck, made evident by her laughter. Ruv sighed.
"Ohhhhhh... Sarvente is asking you to the group date~" Jasmine said excitedly as she tossed Ruv the phone. He easily snatched it out of the air, skeptical of Jasmine's claim. Upon opening his phone and reading the text, he discovered that she was actually telling the truth. His face turned a bright pink, although his expression didn't change.
"Wait, so Ruv and Sarv are going, too?" Sunday asked rhetorically, scratching their head.
"...sure," The Russian said, continuing to re-read the text from Sarvente.
8:20 P.M
"Can you tell me what happened near the end of 1st period? I kinda fell asleep," Boyfriend requested as he hastily searched for his nice pants. Ruv shook his head, even though Boyfriend had his back turned to him and had no knowledge of the gesture. Ruv didn't care and went to make sure that he looked good for his group date. He wore a black turtleneck with black dress pants, and he even considered adding a black ushanka to the outfit but decided to go without it for the date. To be perfectly honest, he was still not keen on the idea of being on a date with a bunch of people that he didn't want to socialize with, but he was doing it for Sarvente. He could suck it up for one evening. "Okay, I guess you don't have to tell me..." Ruv turned to face Boyfriend, expecting him to look goofy. Instead, he actually had a decent outfit: a black suit and black pants, with a navy undershirt.
"Sorry, but you should've been awake. And you can clearly see I'm going to the group date, so take a wild guess." Ruv grabbed Boyfriend's bottle of cologne from the nightstand and examined it. Daddy Dearest: Malevolent Fragrance. Ruv looked down at Boyfriend with a disappointed look. "Seriously..."
"What? Give me a break, Girlfriend snuck it out of the store just for me. It doesn't even smell that bad! Try it!" The short rapper spoke, crossing his arms. Ruv groaned. He might as well, he would be around a lot of people today. He spritzed some onto his wrist and took a sniff. To his surprise, it was actually pretty good. He supposed that Daddy Dearest might have some decent tastes. He then spritzed some around his neck and his other wrist.
"Whatever, are we ready to meet up with the others or not?" Ruv asked, checking himself out one last time before grabbing his phone and wallet, and heading to the door.
"Yeah yeah, whatever. You go on ahead while I look for my hat..." Boyfriend mumbled as he got onto his knees and checked under Ruv's bed. The Russian rolled his eyes.
"Boyfriend, come on, you don't need that stupid hat, let's just go," Ruv spoke, grabbing Boyfriend's collar, effortlessly lifting him up, and setting him outside of the dorm. Boyfriend pouted as he watched Ruv close the door.
"Skid, Pump, I love you, but every single time I'm getting ready for a date, you always seem to be against me," Whitty spoke, although he might as well have been talking to himself since Skid and Pump were not paying attention at all. Pump was running around with a white tennis ball that had a ghost face drawn onto it, while Skid carved an apple as if it was a pumpkin. "...and you don't care. Perfect," Whitty said sarcastically, groaning softly as he looked down at his white suit to make sure nothing was off with how he looked. He made a mental note to get different nice clothes if he was going to be going out this often. "You're not really a big help, either." Whitty motioned to the newest member of the dorm, Nova. The mute sat on his bunk, already fully ready in his all-black suit. He looked up at Whitty and snickered as if to say that he didn't care. Nova began to type something on his phone. Whitty found it incredibly hard to communicate with someone who didn't talk, which is why Nova texted all the time, Whitty guessed. The bomb's phone vibrated. Whitty pulled it out with a sigh as Skid and Pump walked around with Nova's shoes on their feet.
Nova: lmao
"Wow, really moving, you have a way with words. Are you ready?" Whitty asked, making sure that the two kids weren't doing anything stupid or dangerous. They obviously were, but neither Whitty nor Nova could actually do anything about it.
"yea"
Whitty wasn't sure he was going to get used to this form of communication, but whatever. He supposed that he couldn't do anything to make Nova actually talk so that he could deal with the texting.
"Uh, okay. Skid, Pump, don't get everything sticky with your fruit juice," Whitty requested as he and Nova went to the door. When Whitty looked, Skid and Pump were doing the spooky dance on the rail of the top bunk, the juice in their hands. He sighed, closing the door.
"What kind of sicko plans a date on a Monday?" Agoti asked from his bunk as he watched Pico casually put on a black and green suit. Pico snickered as he straightened his tie.
"You're just mad that you and your boyfriend weren't invited," Pico laughed as he made sure that he looked good. Agoti groaned, laying back in his bed.
"How many times do I have to tell you that me and Tabi aren't fucking gay?" Agoti asked, laughing softly as he put his hand on his forehead.
"Funny how I didn't even mention Tabi..."
"I hate you,"
Pico laughed as he checked his phone for the time. If his assumption was correct, the guys should already be outside waiting for him. He opened his phone to text his "date,"
Pico: ready?
Pico sat down on the bottom bunk, eagerly waiting for a response. Agoti noticed from the top bunk.
"Man, you're really obsessed with Sunday, huh?" The digidevil chuckled.
"Hey, don't make me get Tabi on you," Pico retorted with a snicker. Agoti rolled his eyes as he laid back down.
Sunday; pfft no. these dates keep coming out of nowhere and i only have the one dress lmao
Pico: smh i even dressed up all nice just for you to wear the same dress
Sunday: fuck you, this dress is beautiful. you probably look like a clown or some shit
Pico: nah that's boyfriend probably
Sunday: why does everyone always bully him lol
Pico: It's like we're serious, but he also doesn't give two shits, so it's a win win.
Sunday: whatever, i'm almost ready. see you there?
Pico: duh
Sunday: shut up
Pico always enjoyed it when they texted each other and made stupid jokes. He sighed as he turned off his phone and placed it in his pocket, before walking out of the dorm and to the parking lot.
"Fucking finally, we've been waiting forever!" Boyfriend complained, leaning against Nova's white truck that the group would be using to get to the group date. Whitty scoffed.
"Boyfriend, we barely got out here," The bomb said as Nova pulled out the car keys from his pockets and unlocked the truck.
Leave it to Boyfriend to complain about waiting for a few seconds.
Pico read this from his phone with a confused look, wondering why a random phone number had just sent this text to a group chat with this group until he remembered that Nova didn't talk.
"Did you just make a group chat so that you could text us?" Ruv asked rhetorically after reading the text as well. He looked at Nova as he quickly tapped on the phone before Ruv felt the vibrations once more.
"Yea lol"
"But what'll happen if your phone dies?" Boyfriend asked as he opened the passenger seat to get a good seat before anyone else could.
"we'll see ig"
"Whatever, let's just go, already, I'm getting hungry," Whitty complained as he and Ruv struggled to fit inside the truck with their above-average height. Boyfriend pointed and laughed at them as he easily got into his seat. Ruv and Whitty made mental notes to make fun of Boyfriend's height later.
"Wait, Nova won't be able to text while he's driving, right?" Boyfriend asked as Pico let Whitty sit in the middle of the truck where there was the least leg space. He looked visibly uncomfortable, having his legs up to his chest.
"Watch me"
"That was not what I meant! Don't do that!" Boyfriend pleaded as he quickly put on his seat belt. Nova smirked at Boyfriend as he started the truck, keeping his phone on his lap.
"We're gonna die on this car ride," Pico rolled his eyes, not bothering to follow road safety by refusing to put on the seatbelt.
"Pfft, I wish," Ruv mumbled, although Pico couldn't be sure if he was joking or not.
As Nova began to pull out of the parking lot, everyone except the driver and Ruv prepared for the worst. Nova scoffed quietly as he noticed their reactions as if offended. The look was quickly replaced with amusement, reaching for the phone.
"Nope, keep your eyes on the road," Whitty spoke quickly, to which Nova quietly laughed, putting both hands back on the steering wheel.
"Hey, let me Aux," Pico requested, although he spoke as if it was a demand. Nova glanced back with a smirk, before turning his attention back to the road ahead of him.
"Why would we let you do that? I know for a fact you have shitty music tastes," Boyfriend laughed from in front of Pico. Pico rolled his eyes, slightly kicking his seat. Nova reached back and smacked Pico's foot off the seat, clearly worrying about the cleanliness of his truck. "Ha! Plus, Pico's with Sunday, and the shit she makes is demonic."
"Don't even talk about demonic, you are literally dating a demon," Whitty butted in with a good response, which Boyfriend chose to ignore.
"Whatever, but the point is: Pico shouldn't Aux, cuz of music tastes and stuff," Boyfriend dismissively waved his hand, going to put his feet on the dash, before Nova smacked his feet off.
"Really, then why did you make me write a bunch of music for your "Solo rap career" when we were dating? Explain that to everyone," Pico smirked. Ruv snickered, leaning slightly forward.
"Seriously? You made him make music for you to rap over?" The Russian would've laughed but didn't feel like forcing one out just for the group. Boyfriend sighed in defeat, before thinking of a good comeback.
"Sure, but if his music was so damn good, why did I only have like... 4 followers?" He said proudly as if it was a huge accomplishment. Nova snickered once more.
"Damn, he got you"
Pico scoffed as he read the text. "You can't even talk, literally. Focus on the fucking road," The ginger spoke as Nova continued to drive to the restaurant.
"Wait, who's paying? I'm planning on getting thirds," Whitty piped up after thinking about all the food he was going to eat.
"In that case, you're paying for yourself!" Boyfriend yelled back at the bomb. "I was gonna be nice and get you something, but I forgot how much you can fit in your weird body," Whitty ignored him.
"Whatever, I have money! I don't need any charity from you guys!"
"doesn't seem like it"
"Who even invited you?" Whitty whined, crossing his arms. "Also, don't get us killed, please." Nova didn't seem to give a single shit, as the mute turned on the radio, growing tired of people talking.
"So can I Aux or no?" Pico asked once more. Boyfriend chuckled softly as Nova sighed, reaching forward and then reaching his hand back to hand Pico a cord for his phone.
"You better not play shitty music," Whitty said, trying his best to stretch, but failing.
"I've never done that in my entire life," Pico smiled as the bomb beside him. As soon as Pico pressed play on the song, Boyfriend immediately began to complain.
"God, this sucks!" The rapper whined. Nova snickered beside him.
"For real? The music hasn't even started yet, it's still the intro," Pico rolled his eyes as the song finally started.
"I know, the intro was super shitty," Boyfriend replied as he began to vibe with the song that was playing.
"If it's so shitty, then why are you enjoying it?' Whitty asked sarcastically, awkwardly trying to pull out his phone.
"No comment," Boyfriend groaned, pouting in his seat once more, comparable to a toddler.
"That's right because I have good tastes," Pico said proudly.
"eh it's mid"
"Nova, I swear to god, if we crash, you're gonna regret it," Whitty said, reaching over both Ruv and Pico to hold onto the grab handles. Ruv grumbled something, the thought of breaking Whitty's arm crossing his mind. He decided to be nice and deal with it.
"is that a bet?"
"Who let this fool drive?" Pico asked, trying not to be annoyed by Whitty's arm in his face.
"it was bf's idea"
"Wow, way to go, throwing me under the fucking bus like that," Boyfriend scoffed, acting way too offended.
"Are we fucking there yet? I'm starving," Whitty wondered aloud, sounding in pain.
"When are you not starving? Didn't you eat in your dorm?" Pico inquired, beginning to wonder why they weren't there yet. He blamed Nova's shitty driving.
"Yeah, but it wasn't enough to fill me up until we ate again," Whitty explained casually. Pico rolled his eyes, and he realized he had done that a lot for one car ride.
"well, we here now"
Nova nearly ran into the parking block of the parking space as he typed out that text, and abruptly slammed his foot on the brake so that they didn't hit anything. Ruv, Whitty, Pico, and Boyfriend flew forward, hitting their heads on whatever was in front of them. Boyfriend seemed to have it the worst, hitting his head on the dashboard.
"Fuck! Warn us next time!" Boyfriend yelled, rubbing his head. "That really hurt..."
"Aw, is the wittle baby gonna be okay?" Pico mocked with a laugh as he began to exit the car. Whitty snickered.
"Wow, rude for no reason. Classic Pico," Boyfriend shook his head, disappointed. Pico chuckled.
"Wow, I didn't think you'd actually listen to my beauty advice," Jasmine commented when Sunday walked up to the group. Sunday groaned softly when she noticed that her and Jasmine had on the same outfit: a form-fitting black shirt with blue jeans. Although, there were some notable differences: Jasmine's was more of a crop top, and she had more jewelry on than Sunday did.
"I didn't think you would just tell me to wear whatever you were going to wear," Sunday sighed, knowing that it was already too late to go change, especially when Jasmine told the group that she saw Nova's group approaching.
Sunday, Sarvente, Girlfriend, Jasmine, and Carol watched with confusion as the white truck poorly entered the parking lot, stopping and starting repeatedly, and nearly hitting the parking block with an abrupt brake. Sunday knew that whoever was driving was most likely an idiot. She could imagine that Pico would drive like that, but simply as a joke.
"What are they doing?" Carol thought out loud, not being able to look away from the bad driving. She wore her lavender dress. "Did whoever is driving not get their license or something?"
"Don't be talking about my man like that, he's a beautiful driver!" Jasmine said in defense of the driver, although even she had to admit that his driving sucked.
"I don't think we're talking about the same person," Sunday snickered as the group inside the car finally exited. They seemed to be bickering about something, which wasn't completely weird. "Yeah, it was Nova's crap driving that made them late."
"But don't they call it 'Fashionably late'?" Girlfriend asked as she waved to Boyfriend with a smile. Jasmine scoffed as if that offended her, crossing her arms over her black form-fitting shirt.
"That's not the same as being Actually Late. Fashionably Late is like... 15 minutes," The Latina spoke, almost sounding intelligent for a moment.
"Well, thank you for the lesson on types of Lateness," Sarvente said, patting Jasmine on the shoulder.
The girls watched as Whitty and Ruv had to stretch out their limbs after getting out of the truck, relief was visible in their faces.
"Do they know that we're looking at them?" Carol inquired, watching Whitty attempt to stretch his hamstrings without messing up his suit.
"Doesn't look like it," Sunday commented with a snicker as they watched Nova make Pico wipe off the seat, where there was some slight dust. Sunday guessed that Pico put his feet on the back of the car seat.
"They look nice, though. That's the first time I've ever seen Pico wear nice clothes," Girlfriend and Carol laughed softly. Sunday did have to agree that Pico did look very good in his suit, a slight blush appearing on her face. Sunday felt a strange presence from her left, and when she looked, Carol was giggling from beside her, most likely thinking about Pico and Sunday's relationship.
"Oh god, what is it this time?" Sunday asked as they rolled their eyes, turning to face the dark-skinned girl.
"Nothing, nothing…" Carol said, trying to put on a straight face over her grin, but ultimately failing. "Let's call them over already."
"Yeah, I feel like if we waited until they noticed, we would be here all night," Sarvente laughed. "Ruv! Other guys! We're over here!" She yelled. Ruv looked over with Boyfriend in one hand. It appeared that Ruv was about to put Boyfriend in the back of the truck before the yell distracted him. He immediately sat down Boyfriend, and fixed up his suit. The girls laughed softly.
"What took you so fucking long?" Sunday asked Pico as he walked up with a smirk on his face.
"Man, it's because I was too distracted doing my schoolwork," Pico spoke, pretending he was being genuine. Sunday scoffed with a laugh.
"You're an idiot," She simply said, as they turned to enter the restaurant.
"Hey, it takes one to know one," Sunday smacked Pico's shoulder as he laughed, before reaching down to lace her fingers with Pico's. Pico found it to be very comforting.
"Look at you, all dressed up for me," Pico smirked at his date as they walked in.
"Look at you, talking too much," Sunday replied with a snicker and a slight blush. Pico laughed.
"They have a strange relationship," Whitty whispered to Carol as they walked behind them. Carol nodded with a smile.
"Sure they do, but don't pretend like it's not really cute," She replied as they entered. Whitty laughed softly.
"Hey, Um, I wanted to say thanks for asking me to do this…" Ruv said quietly as they entered the lovely restaurant. Sarvente looked over at him with her usual bright smile, although it was brighter this time around. Ruv sighed softly, knowing full well that he loved seeing her smile. "I know it sounds stupid, but I was kind of scared to ask you myself." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Please, I wouldn't rather go on a date with anyone else," She said sweetly, putting her hand down to her side. Ruv took a deep breath.
"Fuck it," He thought, reaching his hand down beside her and softly interlocking their fingers together. Sarvente looked over at him with the same smile, although her cheeks had a deep blush in them now.
"See? We didn't have to do anything, they're already holding hands," Rasazy whispered to Selever as they observed the group date from behind a car.
"Doesn't matter, doesn't mean that we can't help, at least a little bit," Selever grinned, watching as they entered the restaurant. "How tinted do you think the windows are?"
"You realize that I'm not letting you put your face in the window to watch them on a date, right?" Rasazy asked, trying to stop her brother from walking up to the window. Selever groaned softly.
"Ok, fine, what do you think we should do?" He asked, turning to face Rasazy. She thought for a moment.
"We should let it come natu-"
"That's stupid. You know that dad is kinda a pussy sometimes, and he won't want to make a big move." Selever didn't even let Rasazy finish her sentence, which she had unfortunately gotten used to by now.
"He already did, did you not see them holding hands?" Rasazy asked rhetorically, noting that Selever accidentally squealed when he saw the adorable sight.
"Sure, but there's a chance that he could still fuck it up. Come on, you know I'm right!"
Rasazy sighed, checking to see if she could see the group date from their position. The only person she could see was Pico, who seemed to be bickering with someone to his left. "I guess that… technically you're right…" She hated to admit that there was some logic to what Selever was saying, despite how little of it there was.
"Of course there is. Come on, we can try to see if they'll do something after they eat. Then we can set up something for them, and make sure we exist later," Selever said with a chuckle, noting how silly this all was. Rasazy rolled her eyes, watching her idiot brother walk up to the restaurant to spy on the past versions of their parents.
"So that's when Nate drew dumb shit on Tossler's face with a permanent marker. Like, Inappropriate stuff, to be specific. Tossler was SO pissed," Sunday laughed as she finished her story. The only other people who laughed were Nova and Pico. "Wow. You guys suck, I'm never telling stories again." Sunday crossed her arms, pretending to be offended when in reality, they couldn't care less.
"It's not that we didn't like it, it's just that you and your band have a weird relationship. Pico, too," Sarvente noted as they waited for a table to open up for the group.
"Hey, why are you dragging me into this?" The ginger asked, sitting beside Sunday with his arm around her shoulder, pretending he didn't have a blush on his face. Girlfriend raised her eyebrow.
"Uh, because you two are dating?" She spoke as Boyfriend squirmed in his seat, tugging at his collar because it was slightly too tight.
Sunday laughed softly. "Oh yeah, I forgot," They said as they ruffled Pico's hair, although not enough to mess it up. Pico seemed a bit confused by the new gesture but came to appreciate it after a moment.
"Right, so…" Whitty began, feeling awkward now. "Do we have anything planned after the dinner?" He looked over to Girlfriend. She shrugged.
"I dunno. I thought we could just drive around and see what happens?" She suggested. "Like an escape room or something?"
"With this group? You think that would be a good idea?" Ruv asked sarcastically. Pico chuckled softly beside him. "Isn't there something happening tonight? A meteor shower or something? Just watch that."
"OH MY GOD! That's a good idea!" Carol accidentally yelled a little too loud, causing some of the patrons in the restaurant to look over with confusion. "Ruv, you're a genius."
"Hmph."
"Wise Words."
Nova and Jasmine laughed softly as he typed out the text message. He apparently made another group chat, this time with everyone who was present.
"Seriously? How many group chats do you have?" Boyfriend inquired, reading Nova's text. The mute shrugged.
"Does he just not talk?" Sarvente asked as she looked over to Nova. "I thought that maybe he talked a little bit…"
"Nah, he only ever said like, 3 words to me. I don't actually know why he won't talk to anyone else," Jasmine replied instead of Nova as she examined her makeup in a small travel mirror. Nova nodded.
Whitty chuckled softly as a waitress walked up to the group. She glanced at Carol with concern before turning to the rest of them. Carol cleared her throat, embarrassed about yelling earlier.
"Your table is ready for you!" They said as the group got up to follow the waitress.
"Finally, I'm fucking starving…" Whitty thought out loud. The waitress side-eyed Whitty for a moment before turning back around. Whitty looked down at the floor in embarrassment as they were seated at their circular table.
"That was a little loud," Carol whispered to him as she scooted her chair closer to Whitty's. He laughed softly, lightening up a bit.
"Let me know when you're ready to order!" The waitress spoke as she sat down the menus, and then walked away.
"Feel free to get whatever you like! I'm using my dad's money to make him mad," Girlfriend giggled. "But also don't go crazy." She looked over at Whitty.
"What? I wasn't going to!" Whitty said, looking up from the menu.
" sure, we believe you"
"Fine, I see how it is," Whitty leaned back in his chair, although he couldn't go far, as his body was too tall.
"Why are you trying to make your dad mad?" Sarvente asked, now a little nervous to be on the date, worried that Daddy Dearest would be pissed at everybody.
"He was being an asshole, so yeah," Girlfriend shrugged. "He deleted my songs before I could post them! Good thing I keep backups."
"That's a dick move. Why is he so afraid of letting people upload music?" Carol scoffed as she picked up a menu. "He won't find out that we were with you tonight, will he?" Her smug attitude seemed to falter a bit. Girlfriend shook her head.
"Good point, I don't want to get caught in this if that ugly-ass demon gets involved," Jasmine commented as she fiddled with the silverware in front of her.
"Come on, he's gotta be all talk. I haven't actually seen him do anything when he's pissed off. Especially to Boyfriend, who is a master of pissing people off," Pico snickered.
"I heard that he was responsible for Garcello dying tho" Nova sent as he played with the tablecloth.
"Garcello's cool, what could he have done to get himself killed by my dad?" Girlfriend inquired rhetorically.
"I doubt it," Sunday spoke up as she and Pico had a thumb war. "If Garcello got himself killed, Boyfriend would've been gone after the funeral."
"Don't remind me about that, I was just getting over it," Sarvente rolled her eyes. "You're lucky that Girlfriend offered some money to help rebuild the church, or..." She trailed off when Ruv softly placed his hand on hers. She calmed down a bit before her emotions got out of hand.
"I'm so glad that we're all comfortable talking about my past oopsies. It was an accident! And I apologized!" Boyfriend said in his defense.
"You said "Sorry" and that was it," Ruv spoke up for what felt like the first time since they sat down. "Real heartfelt apology."
"See, I would clap back with an amazing insult, but both of you are too scary," Boyfriend said, sitting back in his chair.
"And we're roommates. I could be a terrible roommate if I wanted to," Ruv added. "But I think you being scared is funny, so I won't elaborate."
"Fun," Boyfriend squeaked out.
"I guess that's one way to end an argument," Pico laughed softly. "So, what are we gonna order?" The group began to discuss what they would be getting to eat.
"Why is everything so big here?" Sarv asked rhetorically as she examined the menu. "The only size of steak that they have is 72 oz."
"God damn, who's out here eating that much steak?" Carol asked, sitting next to the person she was indirectly referring to. Whitty decided not to say anything.
"Go ahead, go crazy, get whatever you want. I'm paying!" Girlfriend smiled.
"Wanna share something?" Carol asked Whitty, looking up at him.
"Carol, I'm sorry, but if we get anything on here, I'll accidentally eat all of it," He sighed softly. She laughed.
"Not if I eat faster than you!" She challenged.. He jokingly raised an eyebrow.
"Oh really? You wanna bet?" He asked. "Let's see who can finish the 72-ounce steak the fastest, then."
"Pfft. That's easy," Carol laughed as she sat down her menu. Beside them, Pico and Sunday scoffed.
"Those guys are so corny," Pico said quietly to Sunday as they had a thumb war under the table.
"I know, right? Let's agree to not let the fake dating get that far," She laughed softly as they dominated Pico's thumb in the war. He silently cursed to himself, but for multiple reasons that he couldn't quite understand.
"I don't know… I can feel it happening…" Pico said dramatically. Sunday rolled her eyes.
"Okay, whatever you say," The Latino said as they grabbed their glass and took a drink.
"Yes, it's true, I'm sorry things had to end up like this…" Pico put his face in his hands as he pretended to cry.
"Aw, don't cry," Sunday said sarcastically, going to hug Pico, laying her head on his shoulder. Pico was sort of done with the joke already, but he also didn't want to move, as he wasn't quite ready to end the hug from Sunday. He sighed as he sat up, Sunday releasing her hug.
"Wow, you were real helpful. Now I know what to expect if I ever actually cry in front of you." Pico shook his head.
"Woooooow, I see how it is," Sunday crossed their arms with a snicker. Pico laughed softly.
The waitress soon came back and took everybody's orders, and now they just had to wait. This was especially hard for Whitty, he was being dramatic.
"Bros gonna die of starvation" Nova snickered as he wrote this text and sent it to the group chat.
"I think I actually might," Whitty said as he held his stomach.
"When was the last time you ate?" Sarvente asked the bomb as she grabbed her glass to get a drink. Whitty thought for a moment.
"I think it was just before we left for the date…" He admitted with a sheepish smile.
"Come on, it's been like 30 minutes," Jasmine spoke as Nova played with her hair. "It could be worse. Like, what about that guy? Doesn't he like… not even eat?" She pointed at Ruv. He nodded.
"I haven't eaten in 12 days," He deadpanned. Sarv looked sort of concerned. "I wasn't really planning on eating the dinner, either."
"Ruv, could you at least try to eat the dinner?" Sarvente asked sweetly, placing her hand on Ruv's knee. He immediately blushed as she did this.
"…fine."
"Am I the only one that got a weird vibe from that." Nova sent as he looked at Sarvente and Ruv with a smirk.
"Nah, I felt that, too," Boyfriend said, shifting in his seat. Nova nodded in approval. "Major vibe from that...whatever that was..."
"What are you talking about?" Sarv asked as she blushed a tiny bit now that they were being talked about.
"I don't know, just a weird vibe from y'all."
"Nova's good at reading emotions or some shit like that. He can see the vibes," Jasmine added on, looking over at Nova with a smile.
"That's a weird trade-off for not talking but whatever," Sunday mumbled to herself as she watched Ruv and Sarv acting awkward now.
Finally, the group's food showed up, Whitty did his best not to jump up from his seat and devour all of the food, especially not in front of his hot date.
"Whitty, why did you order so much goddamn food?" Pico asked as he watched the waitress set down his food.
"I know I said you could get whatever, but I wasn't really expecting you to get whatever," Girlfriend as she worried the check would be really expensive. She then remembered that her dad literally made so much that he would probably make the amount of the check by the end of the night.
"Be specific next time," Whitty shrugged apologetically as he quickly started to eat his food.
"Shouldn't we say grace first?" Sarvente asked, still blushing from earlier. Ruv snickered at the irony.
"Sarv, you're literally one of two demons here," He whispered in her ear. She shivered slightly as she felt his breath on her ear. "I don't think they'll be saying grace."
"Yeah, I don't think Girlfriend is the type to "say grace" before a meal," Jasmine snickered as she took a small bite of her pasta. "Nice try, though."
Sarvente sighed softly, bowing her head and saying a quick prayer before turning to her food.
"Wanna share this?" Sunday asked Pico as she examined her big-ass steak. Pico looked over as he ate his soup, and nearly spit it out when he saw the size of the steak.
"God damn, why is it so big?" Pico asked as he swallowed his food. Boyfriend immediately looked up.
"That's wha-"
"I'm gonna stop you right there," Ruv spoke as he exasperatedly took a small bite of the giant steak in front of him. He saw Sarvente's proud look, and that was all he needed.
"What? I don't get it," Jasmine said as she looked at Boyfriend, confused. Nova chuckled as he typed a text on his phone.
"Don't worry Bf,. I thought that was funny." The mute gave Boyfriend a thumbs-up.
"Come on, Ruv, you didn't even know what he was going to say!" Girlfriend said as she picked at her spaghetti.
"Yeah!" Boyfriend added. "I'm not that predictable."
"Boyfriend, I'm pretty sure we all know that you were gonna say a stupid joke. You were thinking "That's what she said", right?" Carol asked with a smug look on her face. "Am I right?"
"…no…" Boyfriend crossed his arms with a pouty look. Whitty patted Carol's Afro with pride.
"I still don't get it," Jasmine shrugged.
"Really?" Sunday asked with a snicker as she stabbed her steak. "I figured out of everyone, you would be the one to get it."
"I dunno why you thought that. Explain it to me," Jasmine requested, snatching a shrimp off Nova's plate. He smirked.
"I'm not gonna explain a That's What She Said joke to you," Sunday said as she and Pico laughed together.
"Can we change the subject to something less unholy?" Sarvente asked nicely as she wiped her mouth with a napkin.
"Yeah, this is stupid," Whitty said as he swallowed a big ass bite of food.
"I stand by it, I don't care," Boyfriend said with pride.
"So are we just done with the date, or…? Is there something else?" Sunday asked as they left Girlfriend at the table to pay the check. Carol had almost stayed back, before remembering that she didn't want to be around just in case Daddy Dearest or Mommy Mearest showed up out of nowhere.
"I don't know, Girlfriend was the one who planned it. Ask her," Jasmine shrugged as she held hands with Nova. Pico noticed this and decided he might as well sell the "Dating Sunday" thing, and reached over to softly grab her hand. She looked over with a deep blush but didn't say anything.
"Didn't she say something about a meteor shower? Why don't we just go watch that to end the night?" Sarvente suggested. Beside her, Ruv contemplated whether he should hold Sarvente's hand or not. He knew he had held her hand earlier, but it was still scary. He inhaled sharply as he laced his fingers with hers. She smiled at him, which Ruv took as a good sign.
"I'm down. I've never actually seen a meteor shower before…" Whitty rubbed his chin as he began to think about stuff that he hasn't done before as Carol hugged his leg. "I think it sounds cool, though."
Sunday and Pico groaned softly as they heard that they would possibly have to endure more of this group.
"We could just leave, let's be honest here," Sunday said to him as they stood off to the side. "What's the worst thing that could happen?"
"Well, let me think about it…" Pico began to exaggerate a thinking pose. "Perhaps the lovely Girlfriend would get upset and tell her father something stupid?" In all honesty, Pico wasn't fully ready to end the date with her. Sunday rolled her eyes.
"Fine, I get it. So let's just go watch the stupid meteor shower real quick," They said with a laugh. They turned to the group. "Me and Pico are cool with it if you guys are."
"Could be cool." Nova shrugged, holding his phone in one hand and a drink in the other.
"How'd he type that so fast with just one hand?" Boyfriend asked as he stood at the door, waiting for Girlfriend.
"It's cuz I'm literally him," Nova smirked at Jasmine as he took a sip from his drink.
"That's a weird talent," Ruv deadpanned as he noticed Girlfriend exiting the building.
"Jasmine thinks it's cool tho" Nova then pocketed his phone so that he could give his thumb a rest.
"Hey, Girlfriend, everyone says that they want to go see the meteor shower with us!" Carol said as Girlfriend walked out. Girlfriend beamed.
"Cool! I had a spot picked out where we could all go see it!" Girlfriend said cheerily. "So Nova can just follow me? Do we want to switch anything around?"
"I kinda wanted to ride with Sunday," Pico shrugged. His fake date looked over for a moment for a concerned look before it faded away. Carol squealed from beside Sunday.
"I wanted to be with my mans. I love being inside his truck~" Jasmine said suggestively as she wrapped her arm around Nova's body.
"I really don't like how you said that..." Whitty said, his face scrunching up in pain. "So who's switching around?"
"Me and you can switch," Sunday replied to Whitty with a shrug, even though she was beginning to feel excited about spending more time with Pico. Whitty nodded, softly taking Carol's hand.
"Oh, Ruv and Jasmine can switch!" Boyfriend said as if he had just come up with a genius idea.
"Way to volunteer. Whatever, I'll switch with her," The Russian rolled his eyes.
"So we all know where we're going?" Girlfriend asked. Everybody nodded and began to get ready to follow Girlfriend.
"Ew, look, they're holding hands." Selever pretended to gag as he and Rasazy watched the group exiting the restaurant from a safe distance. The girl rolled her eyes.
"That's a good thing, idiot. It means the date probably went well, and that we can stop spying on them," Rasazy said with a sarcastic tone to indicate that she didn't want to do this dumb idea in the first place.
"You're wrong, we still need to make sure our dad doesn't fuck it up. He could kill someone by accident and ruin the whole thing!" Selever hissed as he watched The group enter their cars. "God dammit, I don't wanna run after them."
"Can't you just teleport, like how you always do?"
"If I can't time travel, why would I be able to teleport?" Selever asked rhetorically. Rasazy groaned as Selever began to speed walk after the cars.
"Why wouldn't you? You always teleport when the magic is weak," Rasazy said.
"Oh yeah, I forgot." Selever laughed as his sister rolled her eyes.
"What are you even going to do? It's not like you can set up something before they get wherever they're going," Rasazy said as she didn't bother to rush as much as her brother.
"Aha, that's where you're wrong. I have a vague idea because I listen to people," Selever said, continuing to walk forward. "You see, that one girl in the red dress whose name I forgot was talking about a meteor shower earlier while you were reading some stupid-ass book. They're going to the park." Rasazy scoffed.
"Othello is not stupid. What do you know, you've only read about 6 books your whole life," Rasazy retorted, letting her brother get under her skin. This only empowered him more as he watched the two cars driving badly.
"8, actually. Get the fucking facts right." Selever stuck his tongue out at his sister.
"Wow, I'm proud of you! That's 2 more than I expected! Did they happen to be children's books?" Rasazy asked sarcastically.
"…whatever. Are we gonna teleport or not?" Selever asked as he began to get ready to teleport.
"Do you even know which park?" Rasazy asked as she braced herself.
"Pfft, yeah. That girl was really specific, for some reason…"
"What are we even going to do to 'Help their relationship'?" The girl asked, a bit skeptical of this stupid idea.
"I dunno," Selever shrugged. Rasazy literally had to facepalm at his stupidity as they began to travel to a different location.
"Don't tell me that you actually listen to Hamilton music when you're in the car…" Ruv spoke as they drove to the spot. Girlfriend and Carol laughed as they sang along.
"They do. All the time," Whitty sighed as he, Ruv, and Sarv were all squished in the backseat of Girlfriend's car.
"Because it's good!" Carol said to the backseat, before turning to face forward once more. "Lin-Manuel Miranda is just… so good…"
"She said that like, 20 times when we were driving to the restaurant earlier," Sarvente said to Whitty as Carol and Girlfriend began to sing the Hamilton soundtrack once more. "I really don't like how much she likes Lin-Manuel Miranda…"
"Yeah, it makes me kinda uncomfortable…" Whitty said as he tried to stretch without touching Ruv or Sarv. Why did he always get stuck in the middle seat?
"Oh, quit hating! You were the one that bought me the album!" Carol laughed before quickly going back to singing. Ruv side-eyes Whitty.
"What? I knew she liked it, so I got it for her. I didn't think that she would like it THAT much…" The bomb said, shrugging.
"Well, now it might cost us our lives because Girlfriend is not paying attention to the road," Ruv sighed, pointing out to the road in front of them, where Whitty saw Girlfriend swerving. He was about to yell before Girlfriend started driving straight again.
"Sorry!" She laughed as if she didn't do anything wrong. "Almost slipped up there,"
"I bet that if you turned off the music, you would drive much better," Ruv said sarcastically. Girlfriend scoffed as she nearly drove off the road by accident. Whitty helped as he held onto his seatbelt.
"That isn't true. If anything, it makes my driving better!" Girlfriend said, glancing back at her three passengers. Ruv put his hand on Girlfriend's head and twisted it back to face the road.
"If this is your "better" driving, I don't wanna know what would happen if we turned off the music…" Sarvente mumbled to herself as she tightly held onto the grab handle.
"I almost wish I was back with Nova and those guys," Ruv grumbled quietly. Whitty snickered softly, before Girlfriend swerved to the left, Whitty falling into Ruv. Ruv groaned as he pushed Whitty back into place.
"I wish you wouldn't make out while he's driving," Sunday rolled her eyes as she and Pico watched Nova and Jasmine making out as he drove the truck. "You're gonna get us killed." Jasmine groaned softly as she broke apart the kiss, both of them sitting back in their seats.
"God, you've been such a hate this entire date," The Latina spoke, with a slight hint of amusement in her voice.
"This is a valid time to pay attention to the road, in my opinion," Pico snickered as he watched that Nova was driving badly anyways. Pico noticed the phone in the mute's hands.
"Just let me be me," Nova shrugged as he followed Girlfriend's car.
"You know that you don't also have to drive like Girlfriend, right?" Boyfriend asked as he watched Nova swerving on the road, much like the car in front of them.
"oh"
"He can do whatever he wants! It's my papi's car, after all." Jasmine defended Nova, even though Nova couldn't care less.
"Just be glad you weren't here when Boyfriend made us listen to his music," Pico said quietly to Sunday, and Jasmine and Boyfriend began a discussion about Nova. The Latino laughed softly. "Also,. I think you'll be proud of me, 'cuz I played some of your music." Sunday beamed.
"Really? Which song?" Sunday asked, now really excited, getting closer to Pico. Pico found this to be really cute, for some reason.
"Damn, calm down," The ginger laughed softly, relaxing a bit. "I think it was... Marx? I don't know why you like that guy so much, by the way."
"Cuz, he's a freaking genius!" Sunday said as they began to think about Karl Marx.
"You don't want to know how much I disagree," Boyfriend said, butting into the conversation by pretending he even knew who Karl Marx was. Sunday and Pico both elected to ignore him.
"I just listened to the song, I really don't even care about Karl Marx," Pico laughed softly as he turned to face forward. Sunday scoffed.
"Are we almost there?" Jasmine asked as Girlfriend's car made a sharp turn to the right in front of them. Nova quickly followed her movements, taking a very sharp turn. Pico didn't expect this, accidentally falling into Sunday's lap. The two both blushed as he quickly straightened up. Jasmine noticed this and giggled softly.
"Come on, you guys are too cute!" Boyfriend said, much to the surprise of everyone else. He cleared his throat. "That kinda just... slipped out. I didn't mean to say that..."
"They are tho" Nova laughed as they continued to drive forward.
"Nothing even happened," Pico said quickly, trying to forget about what had just happened to him and Sunday. The latter of the two seemed to be silent from the embarrassing moment.
"Y'all are already dating, I don't know what you're embarrassed about," Jasmine laughed as the car began to slow down. Pico suddenly remembered that they were actually faking a relationship with Sunday. Part of him felt upset, for some reason.
"Right..." Sunday mumbled with a soft laugh.
"Ooo... pretty meteors..." Ruv said sarcastically as they sat in the trunk of the truck, looking up at the meteor shower above them. Sarvente laughed softly.
"What, you're not impressed?" She asked, still gazing up at the sky.
"What do you mean? I said they were pretty. I just always sound sarcastic." In front of them, Jasmine and Nova were loudly making out on the grass with a blanket beneath them. Ruv grumbled softly as their loudness was interrupting his moment with Sarvente.
"They are really pretty." Sarvente smiled brightly as she continued to stare in amazement at the meteor shower above them.
"Hey, just so you know..." Sunday began as she and Pico sat beside each other on the hood of Girlfriend's car. Pico looked over. "Your head on my legs was kinda weird, but also it's fine, you know?" Pico laughed.
"When you put it like that, you make it sound so much weirder than it was," The Ginger laughed. Sunday rolled her eyes, the blush coming back onto their face.
"Whatever. My point is: We can just pretend that it didn't happen, right?" The Latino asked, and began to divert their attention to the meteor shower above her.
"Oh, yeah. That's a given," Pico snickered softly as he turned back up to look at the meteor shower as well.
"SHH! I'm trying to watch the meteors!" Boyfriend complained, putting his arm around Girlfriend as they watched the meteor shower. They lay in a gigantic blanket that took up a lot of space.
"I didn't think that you needed silence to look up at the sky," Whitty laughed as he and Carol cuddled on the blanket, along with Boyfriend and Girlfriend.
"Doesn't matter. Let's just watch…" The rapper said with a smile as he turned back up to watch the sky. Blue streaks of light raced across the dark sky. Everyone had gone silent watching the breathtaking sight. Even Ruv had to admit that it was pretty cool. Almost like a cosmic ballet, where the stars themselves take center stage. The sky is their stage and they dance across it in a dazzling display of light and color. Each meteor is like a graceful dancer, twirling and spinning through the darkness.
"See, look at him. They're just sitting beside each other… this is why we're here," Selever said as they sat on a nearby bench, watching their parents looking at the sky. "What an idiot. Make a move, already."
"They were literally holding hands like, a few minutes ago," Rasazy sighed as she examined each meteor that was falling above them.
"Doesn't count, because they have a weird relationship," Selever replied, tapping his foot impatiently. "Should I just yell out what he should do?"
"Please don't."
"Put your arm around her!" Selever yelled to Ruv, although it was loud enough for the entire group to hear.
Rasazy was fully ready to slap her brother in the face before Ruv glanced behind him, and noticed the two sitting there. He grumbled something as he put his arm around Sarvente. Sarvente looked over at Selever and Rasazy with a smile and a wave before she turned back to the sky, laying her head on Ruv's shoulder.
"See, it worked," Selever said smugly, leaning back in his chair. Rasazy sighed, putting her face in her hands. "Never doubt me again."
"Sel, I'm always gonna doubt you," Rasazy said, looking back up to admire her future parents cuddling together. "Can we go now? I want to just lay down and sleep." She put her hands in her hoodie pockets.
"Yeah, whatever. I think our father could probably handle the rest without our help," Selever said as he stretched, getting ready to teleport them to the campus. Rasazy would've commented about how Selever didn't do shit, but instead kept it to herself. She didn't feel like arguing right now.
"Finally," She sighed as she stood up, the bright pentagram appearing below them.
"Did anyone else see that bright light, or was it just me?" Carol asked with concern in her voice as she noticed the decaying light on a pentagram burned into the ground.
"I think you're just seeing things," Jasmine said as she stretched. "I heard someone yelling, though."
"It was just one of the new kids," Ruv spoke as he continued to sit down, not bothering to stand up until he saw Sarvente standing first. "He's kinda annoying..."
"You find everything annoying, I wouldn't be surprised if this random person was actually really cool," Sunday said sarcastically as she and Pico began to stand up.
"I met him, he's kinda cool. I think he came here with his sister, but I don't know," Pico shrugged, stretching out his legs.
"Yeah, they're related. And also lovely! For the most part," She said, glancing toward Ruv, who simply shrugged.
"So are we ready to go home?" Girlfriend as she examined a video she had recorded of the meteor shower.
"Yeah, I'm getting kinda tired now..." Sunday yawned as she stretched one more.
"Come on, it's only, like..." Pico pulled out his phone to see what time it was at the moment. "10 O'clock."
"I know, I would normally be in bed right now if it wasn't for you dragging me on a date," Sunday sighed with a smile as the group began to gather up the blankets, and went back to their cars.
"You're so goddamn lazy," Pico laughed.
"Is it bad that I'm still hungry?" Whitty asked as he forced himself into Nova's short truck.
"What the hell? How? You ate an entire steak?" Jasmine asked with shock as she rushed to get to the passenger seat before Boyfriend reached it.
"How am I supposed to know?" Whitty asked as Pico and Sunday got in the car beside him.
"Yeah, it's weird, I don't know how to handle it," Carol said to Jasmine as the dark-skinned girl entered Girlfriend's car.
"Look how skinny he is, though," Pico pointed out.
"I saw him eating the steak, he just inhaled it bruh" Nova laughed as he started his truck.
"That's pretty impressive, but you couldn't have possibly been that hungry," Pico snickered. He noticed that Sunday had already passed out on the seat beside him. Why did she look really cute when she was asleep? He looked away to see Nova and Jasmine making out as he began to drive.
"How is Nova driving without paying attention to the road?" Whitty asked, trying and failing to put on his seatbelt.
"I don't even know, but he hasn't gotten me or Sunday killed yet, so I'm good." Pico shrugged, pulling out his phone.
"NOVA. WATCH OUT!" Whitty yelled as Nova began to enter a residential area, going 25 MPH. Nova looked back at Whitty with a smug look.
"We're literally going so slow," Jasmine said, checking how she looked on her phone.
"Oh. I was still scared."
The school was out, and Pico assumed that all students had left already. Well, not all of them, as made evident by the sound of a heavy-sounding guitar coming from the other side of the door, with "Sunday's band practice" poorly carved into the door. As Pico walked into the room, he saw Sunday sitting alone, shredding on the guitar. This practice space was made just for her and the band to practice their music. Pico could respect that, since it was quite a feat to get Daddy Dearest to do something like this, just for the band. Perhaps it was because he liked the kind of music that they played...?
Sunday sat on a chair with a guitar in their lap, practicing a guitar solo for the song that they would be performing at the concert that was coming up quite soon. "I love how they play…" Pico thought as he went to close the door. He didn't push the thought away this time. Pico noticed that he and Sunday were the only ones in the room. They looked up when they heard the door close, smiling when she looked at who had just entered. "God, her smile…" It had gotten to the point where every time Sunday smiled at Pico like that, it made his day so much better. Made him feel butterflies and all the other cliche shit.
"What's up?" Sunday asked, muting her guitar, the feedback from the amplifier going quiet. Sunday reached over and turned it down. "I thought you went home already?" Pico was quiet for a moment before realizing he was staring. He quickly stopped, going to sit down next to her. He could feel his face heating up. The ginger prayed that Sunday didn't notice. Luckily, she was quietly strumming on the guitar and did not notice.
"Nope, I was coming to find you, actually," Pico spoke, looking over at Sunday. He was beginning to appreciate the small features on her face more and more. "I, uh, wanted to talk about earlier…" Sunday looked over at the boy next to her with a confused look.
"The group date? Why, did something happen?" They asked, shifting her focus from the guitar to Pico. The ginger shook his head, although something did happen, just more mentally than physically.
"Yeah, I just, uh… wanted to apologize. I feel like I was acting a little weird, I just wanted to make sure that, you know, we can forget about it." Pico looked over at Sunday, awaiting a response. She simply laughed, a sound that Pico was growing to appreciate more, as well.
"Pico, you always act weird, but the fake dating thing is weird, too. So it's fine, don't worry," Sunday said, scooting her chair closer to Pico's. He sighed softly, remembering that they were, in fact, still faking their relationship. It had been long enough that Pico had nearly forgotten why they had started faking it in the first place. But the idea that it was fake made Pico feel a bit discouraged. "It was fun, though. This might sound a little cringe, but I really like hanging out with you." She scooted the chair a little closer once more.
"Right… I did also want to talk about that…" He looked away from Sunday, rubbing the back of his neck. When he looked back at Sunday with a little more confidence, he began to notice that they were rather close now, and it was making him feel some type of way, unlike at the dinner party. Pico was beginning to fondly remember how he had his arm around Sunday's shoulder… He noticed that the Latino's hand was sitting on the edge of the chair. "Fuck it." He reached his hand over, putting it softly over hers. Sunday looked away with a deep blush and a wide smile on her face. "I feel the same way. I haven't enjoyed hanging with someone this much in a while, and it's pretty nice."
Sunday giggled softly, tucking some of their hair behind her ear. "Well, uh… I'm not sure what to say to that…" Sunday laughed softly along with Pico as they enjoyed each other's company. Pico began to notice that it looked like Sunday was contemplating something. She looked up at Pico with a deeper blush. Pico felt her hands move a little from under his hand. He could tell that she didn't want to move her hand from under Pico's, but she did anyway, softly putting her hands on his cheeks, hesitating a bit before beginning to lean in, inches away from Pico's lips…
Pico jolted awake from his bed, nearly hitting his head on the bunk above him with a blush tinting his face. He looked around, rubbing his eyes, realizing he was in the dorm, not in the band practice room. What just happened…?
"...fuck…" He sighed, putting his hand on his forehead as if in distress. He closed his eyes and yawned, laying back down with a saddening realization. "...God dammit."
It was just a dream...
