Isabela grinned, if she had the ankle for it she would be jumping up and down like a little girl as she sat next to Mirabel and listen to her instructions*
Isabela"is this what Dolores felt for Mariano's poems? Cause this is just magical"
Isabela said with a happy sigh just listening to Mirabel speak*
Now
Encanto
We see Dolores and her soon to be husband walking around the town, there hands interlock while Dolores kept her head on Mariano's shoulder*
Mariano:amor, I made a new poem yesterday
Dolores:so that was those cute little words you would mumble out at random
Mariano:oh you've been listening to me? Shouldn't you been listening for dangers?
Dolores giggled having a genuine smile on her face as Mariano knew the truth, well the parts that Dolores wants him to know*
Dolores:anyways please go one you know I love your poems
Mariano coughed and started, before the first word even got out Dolores was already sighing like a little girl head over heels in love*
Mariano:Do not standatmy grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep.
Dolores frowned slightly as the poem reminded her of Mirabel the cousin/sister she let die it made think of the what if*
Mariano:I amathousand winds that blow;
Dolores going to Julieta and telling her what she just heard*
Mariano:I am the diamond glintson thesnow.
Them running to where alma left and finding Mirabel just in time to give her an arepa*
Mariano:I am the sunlight on ripened grain;I am the gentleautumn'srain.
Dolores hugging Mirabel and apologize for everything she did since the ceremony and how horrible she was*
Mariano:Whenyouawaken in themorning's hush,
Mirabel smiling at her and telling her she forgives Dolores and that's happy to have her sister back*
Mariano:I am the swiftupliftingrush
Of quiet birds incircledflight.
But that was all it was, a what if. nothing more then a sick dream Dolores's mind made up to punish her*
Mariano:I am thesoft star that shines atnight.
Do not standatmy grave and cry.
'dream Mirabel:I forgive you Dolores, I love you...'
Fake Mirabel said smiling as she became petals that flew away with the wind*
Mariano:I am not there; I did not die...
Mariano:what do you...amor are you ok? Your crying
Dolores touched her cheek and looked down at her now wet hand, she let the hand fall and clean the tear with her dress*
Dolores:o..oh yes, yes I'm fine amor, your poem was just so...moving that it brought me to tears it's just wonderful
Dolores said with a wobbly smile, Mariano kissed her temple and gave her a hug, with a shaky breath Dolores hugged Mariano back, hugging him tightly with part of there wishing it was Mirabel who she was hugging she would give anything to have that one last time*
Scene change
Couple days later
Still In encanto
Julieta: Luisa someone's at the door can you get it?! My hands are full!
Luisa:ok!
Luisa placed her new letter from jack on her nightstand and walked down. She glanced at her mother busy baking a small cake, it made a sad smile appeared on Luisa's lips as today was Mirabel's birthday*
Luisa"she would've been 18 today..."
Meanwhile with Mirabel
Uncle/jack/Sean/John/Pearson:jug!! Jug!! Jug!! Jug!!
We see them all celebrating Mirabel's 18 birthday, Mirabel was currently trying to finish a huge German style glass of beer in one sitting. While in the background people like Isabela and Abigail were judging her. Mirabel finished and slammed the glass to the floor breaking it*
Mirabel:too easy!!
Mirabel said laughing, as she got up she stumbled a bit but Isabela caught her. Isabela rolled her eyes looking at her sister*
Isabela;alright I'm cutting you off 3 of those was more then enough
Mirabel;:itsh my birthday I can do what I want...why are there two pretty ladies in front of me?
Isabela didn't know if she should be flattered or insulted, she grew an annoyed smile*
Isabela: come on you stupid girl let's get some water in you
Back to the melancholy
Luisa sighed giving a small prayer for her sister before the she walked to the door and opened it. She frowned in confusion seeing Dolores there with her arm cross bitting her lip*
Luisa:uh, hey Dolores...can...can we help you?
Luisa said very confused seeing her cousin there*
Dolores:uh...yeah it's been a while since we've talked huh?
Luisa:I would say so, the closest thing of a conversation that we've had is you congratulating me for my gift
Luisa said drily even before the incident with Mirabel Luisa and Dolores were not that close how could they be? With alma always making Luisa the servant of everyone In the encanto*
Julieta:Luisa who's at the do...oh, what do you want rat?
Julieta said with a small scowl on her face, Dolores hummed ignoring the insult knowing it was a nickname she earned*
Dolores:I...I need to show you two something before we speak, it's...it's actually not far from here. So if you could please trust me and follow me. I know you have no reason to trust me, but... it's to give you closure of sorts on...a very specific thing
Julieta sighed and thought about it, she looked at Luisa who shrugged and nodded*
Julieta:your lucky i need to let my cake cool down before I add the frosting
Dolores nodded, she turned around and walked away, with Luisa and Julieta following after her*
Later
After walking in silence for 15 minutes Dolores and the other two stopped, Julieta looked confused looking at where Dolores took them*
Julieta:ok...so you brought us to the edge of encanto...why?
Luisa: I've been here before with that stupid bridge, I've never seen that grave there
Dolores:for good reason, read the name on the tombstone
Dolores simply said as she kneeled againsts the tree, Julieta and Luisa walked to the tombstone and read it what they read made there eyes widen*
Tombstone "here lies Mirabel madrigal, an angel that the world didn't deserve to have"
Involuntarily tears fell from Julieta's face as she turned around and looked at Dolores who shrugged*
Dolores:we...never had a funeral for her, with alma being alma it just wasn't going to happen. There's no body of course but this... this is the last place Mirabel was alive
Julieta turned back to the tombstone and rubbed the stone not taking her eyes off it. Luisa on the other hand got up and crossed her arms looking at Dolores with a scowl*
Luisa:your story isn't adding up, how do you know this was the last place Mirabel was? Mirabel died when she touched that stupid candle
Dolores:that's because Mirabel didn't die to the candle
That made Julieta snap her neck at Dolores, who looked up in the sky*
Dolores:the truth is so much worse, at least the candle would've been painless
And so Dolores told Julieta and Luisa the truth, the whole truth, not letting a single detail out of what she remembered from that night. When she finished she had Luisa grabbing her by her collar and slamming Dolores to the tree with hatred behind her eyes*
Dolores:last thing I heard was Mirabel making her way down in to the forest after that... well the chances of a little girl surviving are slim to none
Luisa:my sister could've lived if it wasn't for you!!
Luisa said, like Julieta she finally reached her limit. Dolores didn't react, she just cleaned the blood coming from her mouth"
Dolores:yes, she could've survived if I wasn't a coward sadly for her I was and still am one.
Julieta: Luisa ler go, she's not worth it
Luisa looked at Dolores with even more hatred that she can't retaliate.luisa let Dolores go and Dolores fell oj her behind*
Julieta: why are you telling us all of this now?
Dolores sighed and did something the other two woman never seen her too,she took a cigarette and started smoking*
Dolores:doesn't matter if I tell you now I guess you already exploded on alma, and I've got my husband who loves me dearly. I'm telling you this not because I'm a good person Luisa I've long since accepted that, I'm telling you the truth because there's no negative for me telling you this do with what I said what you will of it
Dolores turned around and walked away waving his hand dismissively*
Dolores: I've said my peace, I'll leave you two to say goodbye
Luisa and Julieta looked at the tombstone and started praying with no way to know how she's really doing*
With Mirabel
Next morning
Isabela gave a small groan as her headache was back, her body felt like it was on fire, and she felt her thighs as if someone punch them, she slowly opened her eyes and looked at her body, for what she could see her perfect skin now was filed with bruises. And the one responsible? Mirabel was still asleep her head on isabela's stomach*
