Morning rises on a grief-stricken Port Royal following the aftermath of the brutal pirate and Heartless attack. Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Luna, Spyro, Cynder, Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Fishlegs, Meatlug, Snotlout, Hookfang, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Barf and Belch walked through the streets as they look upon the devastation. The harbor was dotted with burning ships, and buildings were razed and still smolder, and dozens of civilians were either injured or killed. Those that survived did their best to help the wounded and clean up the mess, moving debris and hauling the dead onto wagons to buried later on.
"Wow. The pirates and the Heartless really did a number on this place." Sora says
"The whole town been decimated." Fishlegs says
"These poor people... They've lost their homes, their families..." Luna says with a hint of sorrow in her voice
"This is horrible." Astrid says
Soon, the group stopped and gasped in shock. Before them was Will Turner, lying unconscious on his back with his head limp sideways to the left.
"Will!" Devon exclaims
The two Keyblade Wielders kneel down to the young man, while the others gathered around them. Devon puts his left-ear to Will's chest and was relieved to hear his heartbeat.
"He's still alive." Devon sighs
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Devon grabs Will's left-shoulder with his right-hand and shook him a couple times, hoping for a response.
"Will? Will!" Devon says
Will Turner groaned as he came to, and he slowly opened his eyes. He sits upright and looks around at the group.
"Are you alright?" Devon asks
"I was... knocked unconscious... But I'm okay." Will says
Will rises up onto his feet and gazes around at the devastation that had befallen his home. Then, he gazes out at the sea, knowing that somewhere Elizabeth Swann was being held captive by Captain Barbossa and his crew of pirates.
The heroes arrive at Fort Charles as they walk into the courtyard and saw that the British Royal Navy didn't fare any better. They passed a man who was pulling a wagon full of dead redcoats, and two marines hastily moved across them, carrying another wounded marine away with one at the front holding onto his legs behind his back as he faced forward, while the other holding underneath his arms. Over on the left, Devon, Sora, Will Turner, and the others saw Commodore Norrington, Governor Weatherby Swann, Murtogg, Mullroy, and three other Royal Officers in a side area. Norrington and his officers stood gathered around a table, which had a map of the Lesser Antilles to determine the pirates' course of travel, while Governor Swann stood nearby with his hands behind his back. Will runs up to them, followed by Devon, Sora, and their friends, and informs them of Elizabeth's capture.
"They've taken her! They've taken Elizabeth!" Will says
"Mr. Murtogg, remove this man." Norrington says without taking his gaze off the map
Murtogg walks around the table towatds Will and goes to grab his right-arm, but he pushes him away.
"We have to hunt them down! We must save her!" Will says
"And where do you propose we start? If you have any information concerning my daughter, please share it." Weatherby says turning around to his right to face Will Turner before turning away again
Will remained silent, as did Devon, Sora and the others, since none of them had any idea on where the pirates could have gone. Luna, Toothless, Stormfly, Meatlug, Hookfang, Barf and Belch lowered their heads, whining and whimpering sadly for poor Elizabeth.
"That Jack Sparrow." Murtogg says
The heads of the dragons perked up with Luna and Toothless emitted a curious warble, and everyone looked over towards Murtogg as he spoke.
"He talked about the Black Pearl." Murtogg says
"Mentioned it is more what he did." Mullroy says
Norrington continues to glance down at the map, shrugging off this information, and Will offers a suggestion.
"Ask him where it is. Make a deal with him. He could lead us to it." Will says
"No. The pirates who invaded this fort left Sparrow locked in his cell. Ergo, they are not his allies." Norrington says
After staring down at the map, Norrington turns left to Weatherby Swann to discuss his plan.
"Governor, we will establish their most likely course and-" Norrington says
Angered by the Commodore's ignorance, Will Turner slams the boarding axe in his right-hand down onto the table through the map, startling Murtogg behind him.
"That's not good enough!" Will shouts
Norrington turns to face Will, hardly surprised by his outburst, then looks down at the axe. He removes the axe from the table and walks around the right of the table to Will.
"Mr. Turner, you are not a military man, you are not a sailor. You are a blacksmith." Norrington says
With the axe still in his right-hand, Norrington roughly guides Will outside to the courtyard as he pulls him away by his arm.
"This is not the moment for rash actions!" Norrington says
Norrington leans in closer to Will, almost to stare him in the eye, and spoke to him in a calm, yet threatening voice.
"Do not make the mistake of thinking you are the only man here who cares for Elizabeth." Norrington says
After having saying that, the Commodore hands the axe back to the blacksmith and goes back to his task. Will watches him for a moment, then turns and walks away with Devon, Sora, and the others following him.
"If Jack knows about the Black Pearl, maybe he'll know where it's going." Sora says
"Right. Let's go pay him a visit." Devon says
"I was thinking the same thing." Will says
Down in the fort's prison block, Jack Sparrow was trying to budge one of the bars on the door in order to break free. He soon heard footsteps coming from the prison's entrance and immediately backs away from the door. Will Turner, Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Luna, Spyro, Cynder, Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Tuffnut, Ruffnut descend down the stairs and approached Jack's cell as the pirate laid down flat on his back.
"You. Sparrow." Will says
"Aye?" Jack says
"You are familiar with that ship, the Black Pearl?" Will asks
"I've heard of it." Jack says
"Where does it make berth?" Will asks
"Where does it make berth? Have you all not heard the stories?" Jack asks leaning upright
Devon, Sora and their friends looked at each other before facing Jack again.
"Uh... Not really." Hiccup says shrugging his shoulders
Luna and Toothless both shook their heads no with a soft growl. Jack laid back down as he lounged on the floor of his cell, revealing what he knew about the Black Pearl and its pirate crew.
"Captain Barbossa and his crew of miscreants sail from the dreaded Isla de Muerta." Jack says
"Isla de Muerta?" Fishlegs says
"Aye. It's an island that cannot be found, except by those who already know where it is." Jack says leaning back up and holding up his right thumb, index finger, and his pinkie finger
"The ship's real enough. Therefore its anchorage must be a real place. Where is it?" Will says
"Why ask me?" Jack asks
"Because you're the only person on this island who knows about the Black Pearl." Devon says
"And you are a pirate." Will says
"And you want to turn pirate yourself. Is that it?" Jack asks
Will Turner leans closer to the cell door with a threatening look on his face.
"Never!" Will says
The young man backs away and places his hands at his waist.
"They took Miss Swann." Will says
"Oh! So it is that you found a girl. I see. Well, if you're intending to brave all, hasten to her rescue, and so win fair lady's heart, you'll have to do it alone, mate. I see no profit in it for me." Jack says sitting upright
"C'mon, Captain." Sora says
"Then how about your freedom?" Devon says crossing his arms
"He's right. We can get you out of here." Will says
"How's that? The key's run off." Jack asks
"I helped build these cells. These are half-pin barrel hinges." Will says looking at the cell and pointing to the hinges in the door with his left index finger
The young man turns around to his right and grabs the bench behind him.
"With the right leverage, and the proper application of strength..." Will says
Will flips the bench upside-down and puts its two legs through the gaps in the door.
"... the door will lift free." Will says
"What are your names?" Jack asks
Sora steps up and introduces himself and his two companions.
"I'm Sora. This is Donald and Goofy." Sora says
Devon moves up next as he and his friends introduce themselves to the pirate.
"I'm Devon. This is my dragon, Luna." Devon says placing his right-hand on the back of his female Night Fury's head
"Ah, yes. I remember her." Jack says
"I'm Spyro."
"I'm Cynder."
"My name's Hiccup. This is Toothless." Hiccup says pointing to his Night Fury on his right with his left index finger
"He's toothless? Don't all dragons have teeth?" Jack asks raising his right-eyebrow
Toothless gives Jack Sparrow a toothy smile at first, then retracts his teeth, giving him a gummy smile.
"Oh..." Jack says
"I'm Astrid."
"Hi. I'm Fishlegs."
"Snotlout."
"Tuffnut, and this is my sis, Ruffnut."
"And I'm Will Turner."
"That would be short for William, I imagine. Good strong name. No doubt named for your father, eh?" Jack says
Everyone looked at Jack in surprise. He knew of Will's father?
"Yes." Will says
"Uh-huh." Jack says
Intrigued by everything he heard, Jack Sparrow rises up onto his feet.
"Well, Mr. Turner, I've changed me mind. If you spring me from this cell, I shall swear under pain of death, I shall take you and your... dragon-riding troupe to the Black Pearl, and your bonny lass." Jack says
Jack extends his right-hand through the bars of the door as he offered to shake hands on the deal.
"Do we have an accord?" Jack asks
Will Turner stares down at the pirate's hand for a moment, but eventually shakes his hand.
"Agreed." Will says
"Agreed. Get me out." Jack says
Pushing down on the bench, Will lifts the cell door free from its hinges, then tosses it away to the left. The door falls to the floor with a loud clanging sound, which would surely draw the attention of any Royal Marine close by.
"Hurry. Someone will have heard that." Will says
"Not without my effects." Jack says
Jack moves past the group and goes to grab his gear, which was hanging on hooks off to the side of prison block.
Leaving Fort Charles, Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Luna, Spyro, Cynder, Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Fishlegs, Meatlug, Snotlout, Hookfang, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Barf and Belch, Jack Sparrow and Will Turner make their way down to the harbor, avoiding Royal Marine patrols, which had doubled since the attack on Port Royal. They hide away underneath a stone bridge with Jack, Will, Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, and the Viking Teens up at the front, and Luna, Spyro, Cynder, Toothless and the other dragons right behind them, and scanned the area. Royal Marines patrolled the beach and the docks, and the HMS Interceptor was anchored at port.
"We're going to steal a ship?" Will asks
Everyone followed Jack's gaze as he looked out toward the HMS Dauntless, which was anchored out in the bay.
"That ship?" Will asks
"Commandeer. We're going to 'commandeer' that ship. Nautical term." Jack says turning and pointing to the anchored Interceptor with his left index finger
The group watches as redcoats and sailors load their cargo onto the Interceptor. Before moving on, Jack turns around to his right to face Will.
"One question about your business, boy, or there's no going. This girl. How far are you willing to go for her?" Jack asks
"I'd die for her." Will says
"Oh, good. No worries then." Jack says turning back toward the docks
"So, what do we do?" Sora asks
"I have a plan." Jack says
Turning around once again, Jack Sparrow faces Devon, Sora, and their group.
"Devon, Sora, you lot wait here. Young Turner and I shall sneak aboard the HMS Dauntless. Keep a sharp eye. When you see us climbing atop her stern, that'll be your cue to join us." Jack says
Devon nods his head and gives a thumbs up with his right-hand, while Sora gives a salute with his left-hand.
"You got it, Jack." Devon says
"Aye, aye, Captain!" Sora says smiling
"Wait. How are you going to sneak toward the ship without anyone noticing?" Fishlegs asks
Jack looks over at Fishlegs and just simply smiled.
Out on the beach, four redcoats run past some discarded longboats that were sitting along the shore. Suddenly, one of the boats that was upside-down is lifted up with Will Turner and Jack Sparrow's legs underneatht. Will was at the rear of the boat, and Jack was at the front. The two men hastily move toward the waterline and enter the bay.
Down underwater, Jack and Will slowly walked along the bay floor using the boat as an air pocket for them to breathe during the crossing.
"This is either madness or brilliance." Will says
"It's remarkable how often those two traits coincide." Jack says
Back on the beach, the world-travelers stood around, acting casual for any redcoats that passed them. Devon sat down on the sand, his left-arm resting on his bent left-knee and his other leg stretched out with Luna curled around him. Hiccup kept a lookout for Jack and Will with his right-eye through a spyglass with Toothless helping him, while everyone else stood behind them. Eventually, he spots the two men as they climb up along the stern of the Dauntless.
"There they are. On the Dauntless." Hiccup says
Devon and Luna rise up to their feet and they could see Jack and Will climbing over the top of the stern as they board the ship.
"Alright. Everyone, on the dragons." Devon says
Devon and Sora mount themselves onto Luna's saddle as they throw their right-legs over her back, while Hiccup puts away his spyglass and climbs onto Toothless. Donald and Goofy jump onto Stormfly and Meatlug as they ride along with Astrid and Fishlegs. Devon looks ahead at the British ship and narrowed his eyes with a smile.
"Showtime." Devon says
Out in the bay, Jack Sparrow and Will Turner board the Dauntless onto the quarterdeck, and noticed Gillette and his crew of redcoats and sailors down below on the main deck. Jack draws his pistol and Will pulls out his cutlass and the two men descend down with Jack going down the stairs, and Will jumping over the left-side.
"Everyone, stay calm! We are taking over this ship!" Jack says
"Aye! Avast!" Will says holding up his cutlass horizontally along his right-side
The crew of the Dauntless laughed at the two pirates and their foolish threat.
"This ship cannot be crewed by two men. You'll never make it out of the bay." Gillette says taking four steps forward with a smile
"Son..." Jack says
The pirate aims his pistol straight at Gillette's face and pulls the hammer back with his right thumb, arming his weapon.
"I'm Captain Jack Sparrow. Savvy?"
At that moment, Luna, Toothless, and the other dragons land and board the Dauntless with their riders. Barf and Belch landed first at the front bow of the ship behind Gillette and his men, followed by Hookfang, who landed on the starboard side of the ship. Spyro, Cynder, Stormfly and Meatlug land up on the quarterdeck, and Luna and Toothless land on the main deck alongside Jack Sparrow and Will Turner with Luna on the left and Toothless on the right. The female Night Fury lets out a loud roar, sustaining it for five seconds, then snorts with smoke blowing out from her nostrils and a grin on her face. The same expression could be seen on Devon and Sora's face. Jack glances over at Luna on his left and both she and her riders look back at him, then they face Gillette and his crew as the pirate smiles with a grin.
"Did I forget to mention... I have a couple of dragon riders on my side?" Jack says
Back at the harbor of Port Royal, Norrington was overlooking a manifest for supplies as his men continued loading them onto the Interceptor, when a Royal Navy Officer named Theodore Groves calls him over.
"Commodore!" Groves says
Norrington and Groves turn their attention toward the bay and the Commodore takes out his brass metallic spyglass, putting it up to his right-eye. He saw Gillette and his crew out on a longboat, rowing toward the harbor with the lieutenant shouting out to him.
"Sir, they've taken the Dauntless! Commodore! They're taking the ship!" Gillette shouts pointing back with his left-hand
Norrington shifts his gaze toward the Dauntless, and he saw Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Will Turner pulling on a rope with Donald's legs flailing about due to his short height since he was infront of everyone else, while Devon, Hiccup, Astrid, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Tuffnut and Ruffnut pulled on another rope as they all worked together to free the sails. Jack Sparrow stood infront of them, urgently waving his hands up and down as if he were giving commands.
"Sparrow and Turner! They're taking the Dauntless!" Gillette shouts
"Rash, Turner. Too rash. That is, without a doubt, the worst pirate I have ever seen." Norrington says
Collapsing his spyglass, Norrington turns around to his left and heads off to fetch the rest of his men with Groves following him.
Out on the Dauntless, Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Hiccup, Astrid, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, and Will climb up to the quarterdeck, where Jack stood at the helm.
"Here they come." Will says
"So now what?" Snotlout asks spreading his arms out
Jack turned and glanced over his right-shoulder. Everyone saw Gillette and his men rowing their longboat back toward the Dauntless with the Interceptor behind them as its sails dropped. Jack simply smiled as his plan was working.
Down in the water, Gillette and his men began to make their approach as they rowed to the Dauntless.
"Bring her around! Bring her around!" Gillette shouts
Soon, the Interceptor comes up alongside the Dauntless by her starboard side. Sailors swing onto the ship's deck and six grappling hooks were thrown and hooked onto the railings of the ship. Two gangplanks were set across the two ships, allowing Norrington, Groves, and their men to board the Dauntless. They looked around and saw that no one was aboard.
"Search every cabin, every hold, down to the bilges." Norrington commands
As they move to search and secure the ship, Jack Sparrow and Will Turner swing across to the Interceptor from the bow of the Dauntless, and cut the lines of the grappling hooks. The two gangplanks fall into the bay as the Interceptor begins to sail away. The noise attracts Norrington's attention as he slowly turns around to his left. It was then that the Commodore realized. He and his men had been duped!
"Sailors, back to the Interceptor! Now!" Norrington commands
One brave sailor tried to swing the across on a rope, but fell short with a splash. Norrington and Groves gaze out and saw Jack Sparrow at the helm, who glances back over his left-side and raises his tricorne hat to them with his left-hand. Also with him on the quarterdeck was Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Luna, Spyro and Cynder. Down on the main deck was Will Turner, Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Fishlegs, Meatlug, Snotlout, Hookfang, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Barf and Belch.
"Thank you, Commodore, for getting us ready to make way! We'd have had a hard time with her by ourselves!" Jack taunts
A few Royal Marines aim their muskets and fire off a couple shots, forcing everyone, except Jack to duck down for cover. Turning away to the right, Norrington walks up toward the upper level of the Dauntless with Groves following him.
"Set topsails and clear up this mess." Norrington commands
"With the wind across her stern, we won't catch them." Groves says
"I don't need to catch them. Just get them in range of the long-nines." Norrington says glancing back over his left-shoulder as he continues up the stairs to the quarterdeck
"Hands, come about! Run out the guns!" Groves commands
The crew of the Dauntless work quickly to prepare the cannons of the ship, while Norrington and Groves observed the Interceptor.
"We are to fire on our own ship, sir?" Groves asks leaning right towards his Commodore
"I'd rather see her at the bottom of the ocean than in the hands of a pirate." Norrington says
The steersman attempted to turn the helm to the right in order to steer the Dauntless into position for the guns, but the wheel was locked in place.
"Commodore!" The steersman calls
Norrington and Groves turn their heads toward the steersman on their left as he calls them.
"He's disabled the rudder chain, sir!" The steersman says
Down in the longboat, Gillette noticed a large shadow looming over him, which turned out to be the Dauntless' massive bow. Realizing that they were about to collide with the significantly bigger ship, Gillette screams out an order.
"Abandon ship!" Gillette exclaims
Gillette and his fellow Marines hastily jump off and swim to shore, while their longboat is crushed to pieces underneath the Dauntless' hull. Norrington lowers his head in disappointment, while Groves stares out in admiration.
"That's got to be the best pirate I've ever seen." Groves says
Norrington lifts his head up and stares at the Interceptor as it continues out into sea.
"So it would seem." Norrington says
Unable to pursue them, Commodore Norrington and Officer Groves could only watch as Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Devon, Sora, and their group sail off into the distance with the Interceptor.
With Port Royal now behind them, the heroes began their adventure across the open waters of the high-seas. Donald and Goofy stood on seperate sides of the Interceptor as lookouts for any Royal Navy ships.
"Starboard side's clear!" Goofy says
"Port too!" Donald says
"Alright. Should be smooth sailing from here." Sora says
And so, everyone settled down for a pleasant voyage. Will Turner sat down on a barrel and sharpened his cutlass. Devon sat nearby on a crate to his left with Luna sitting next to them on her haunches with her tail curled around her. Across from them near the stairs to the quarterdeck sat Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, and Stormfly. Spyro and Cynder stood along the starboard side of the Interceptor on their hind legs and rested their front paws against the wooden railing of the brig, gazing out at the vast expanse of the sea. Fishlegs stood up on the quarterdeck with Meatlug, looking over a map of the Caribbean Sea with much interest. And Snotlout, Tuffnut, and Ruffnut sat with Hookfang, Barf and Belch near the front of the ship. And Jack Sparrow went across the ship, checking to make sure everything was tied down.
"When I was a lad living in England, my mother raised me by herself. After she died, I came out here, looking for my father." Will says
"Is that so?" Jack says
"My father, Bill Turner?" Will says
Will rises up from his seat and follows Jack up onto the quarterdeck. Devon, Sora, Hiccup, and Astrid followed as well, curious to know more about Will's father. Luna, Toothless, Spyro and Cynder also followed as they jump up onto the quarterdeck with a flap of their wings.
"At the jail, it was only after you learned my name that you agreed to help. Since that's what I wanted, I didn't press the matter. I'm not a simpleton, Jack. You knew my father." Will says
Jack tied the rigging to the sails down to the railing of the ship, then turned around to his left and faced Will.
"I knew him. Probably one of the few who knew him as William Turner. Everyone else just called him 'Bootstrap' or 'Bootstrap Bill'." Jack says
"Bootstrap?" Will says confused
Jack walks over to the helm and places his hands on it, while everyone followed him.
"Good man. Good pirate. I swear, you look just like him." Jack says glancing back at Will over his left-shoulder
"Wait a minute. Will's father was a pirate?" Hiccup asks
"But if his father was a pirate, then that means... he's a pirate too!" Fishlegs says
"That's not true. He was a merchant sailor. A good, respectable man who obeyed the law." Will says
"He was a bloody pirate, a scallywag." Jack says glancing back at Will again
"My father was not a pirate!" Will says drawing his cutlass and pointing his blade at Jack
Devon, Sora, and their friends immediately backed away when they saw Will draw his sword. Jack didn't even bother looking back and simply kept calm.
"Put it away, son. It's not worth you getting beat again." Jack says
"You didn't beat me. You ignored the rules of engagement. In a fair fight, I'd kill you." Will says
"Well, that's not incentive for me to fight fair, now is it?" Jack says glancing back at Will once more
In that moment, Jack Sparrow spins the helm far to the right and the aft sail that controlled the direction of the ship slams into Will Turner, causing him to drop his weapon in the process and leave him hanging far over the side. Everyone stared in shock of Jack's actions.
"Wha-?!" Devon says surprised
"Jack, what are you doing?" Sora asks startled
Jack ignored them and bent down to grab Will's cutlass, then points it at him.
"Now, as long as you're just hanging there, pay attention. The only rules that matter are these: What a man can do, and what a man can't do." Jack says
The pirate walks back to the helm with the sword in his left-hand as he continued.
"For instance, you can accept that your father was a pirate and a good man, or you can't. But pirate is in your blood, boy, so you'll have to square with that someday. Now, me, for example, I can let you drown, and Devon and Sora with their dragons will have to fly off and save you, but I can't bring this ship to Tortuga all by me onesies. Savvy? So..." Jack says
Turning the helm to the left, Jack brings Will back onboard the Interceptor, and Will falls onto the quarterdeck on his back. But before he could get back up, Jack points his sword down at Will's chest.
"Can you sail under the command of a pirate?" Jack asks
Jack flips the sword over and skillfully catches the weapon by it's blade as he offers it back to Will.
"Or can you not?" Jack asks
Will takes back his cutlass and looks up at Jack, confused as to the name of their destination.
"Tortuga?" Will says
"Tortuga?" Devon, Sora, and Co. say in unison
Jack turns to the world-travelers and faces them with a smile on his face.
"Tortuga." Jack says
It was now night time and the Interceptor sails into the bay as the heroes arrive at their destination.
Tortuga was an island that lied to the north of Hispaniola, named by the Spanish after the turtle it represented. A dank, dirty, lawless port with its cantered, rotting docks and weatherbeaten buildings, where the tides swept together the sum of pirates, privateers, prostitutes, thieves, rogues, scoundrels, outlaws, drunkards, and sailors in the Caribbean, a place for those on lookout for fresh risks and high adventure. Dangerous, boisterous, drunken, and bawdy, Tortuga was pirate heaven.
Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Luna, Spyro, Cynder, Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Fishlegs, Meatlug, Snotlout, Hookfang, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Barf and Belch, and Will Turner walked along the streets of Tortuga with Jack Sparrow as he showed them around, and they observed all the craziness that was happening throughout the town. Pirates were shooting off their guns, a man drank rum by the tap of a barrel, another man was dragged across the dirt by his ankles behind a rolling wagon, and an odd assortment of livestock such as donkeys, chickens, goats, pigs, etc. roamed free. The streets were filled with the sounds of yelling, shouting, and laughing pirates, the loud gunshots that went off every couple of seconds, and the endless sounds of barking dogs, yowling cats, whinnying horses, clucking chickens, squealing pigs, bleating goats, and braying donkeys.
"More importantly, it is indeed a sad life that has never breathed deep the sweet, proliferous bouquet that is Tortuga. Savvy? What do you think?" Jack says
Will looks down at a man on his left as he sat on the ground, drinking rum by the tap of the barrel and the two mugs in his hands without a care in the world.
"It'll linger." Will says
Everyone watched as two pirates wrestle each other to the ground infront of them, throwing punches one after the other. One of the pirates rises up on his feet, and the other one tackles into him as they both move to the left out of view. A crashing sound is heard a few seconds later, forcing everyone to wince from the sound, and a flock of chickens run across the street infront of the group, flapping their wings and clucking in panic. One of the chickens laid an egg as it drops infront of the group, while the chicken that laid it kept on running. A yellow chick immediately hatches from the egg and hops off, following the rest of the chickens. Luna and Toothless tilted their heads to the left and warbled in confusion.
"Well... it's definitely got it's... sense of appeal." Devon says shrugging his shoulders
"Gawrsh. It sure is different than Port Royal." Goofy says
Donald jumped with fright and moves his arms and lifts his right-leg as a gunshot lands near his duck feet.
"Waaak! This place is crazy!" Donald exclaims
"I know... And I love it!" Tuffnut says excitingly throwing up his arms
"Yeah!" Ruffnut says excitingly throwing her arms up
"Oh, yeah. Now this is my kind of town." Snotlout says crossing his arms
"I'll tell you, lot, if every town in the world were like this one, no man would ever feel unwanted." Jack says
Soon, the group was approached by a redheaded woman, who hastily walked toward Jack Sparrow, wearing a red dress and an excessive amount of blush on her face. Her name was...
"Scarlett!" Jack exclaims with a happy smile on his face
Scarlett wasn't exactly pleased to see Jack Sparrow as she gives him a hard slap across the face with her right-hand that made him spin around to the right. After that, the wench turns around and walks off elsewhere.
"Not sure I deserved that." Jack says
Jack turns back around and saw another woman approach him. Another wench who had flaxen blonde hair and wore a yellow dress. Her name was...
"Giselle." Jack says smiling
"Who's she?" Giselle asks smiling
"What?" Jack says confused
Giselle gives Jack another hard slap across the face with her right-hand, an echo to the one he had received only moments ago.
"I may have deserved that." Jack says
On the outskirts of Tortuga, Joshamee Gibbs was sleeping in a piggery with a bunch of pigs down in the muck and mud. The years had not been kind on the sailor as the hair on his sideburns, and beard had aged, becoming grey and white along the edges. And instead of the clothes he wore during his time as a sailor for the Royal Navy, Gibbs wore a white long-sleeved shirt rolled up to his forearms with a pale blue-grey vest over it. He still had his tan pants with a large black belt, and black boots. Suddenly, his sleep was disturbed by someone throwing water on him. Gibbs gasps and sputters as he stirs awake.
"Curse ya for breathin', ya slack-jawed idiot!" Gibbs shouts
Looking up, Gibbs saw that it was Jack Sparrow who woke him up as he held an empty wooden bucket in his hands. He also noticed Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Luna, Spyro, Cynder, Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Fishlegs, Meatlug, Snotlout, Hookfang, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Barf and Belch, and Will Turner standing behind him. The old sea dog smiled when he saw his longtime comrade and captain.
"Mother's love! Jack! You should know better than to wake a man when he's sleepin'. It's bad luck." Gibbs says
"Ahh... Fortunately, I know how to counter it. The man who did the waking buys the man who was sleeping a drink. The man who was sleeping drinks it while listening to a proposition from the man who did the waking." Jack says
Gibbs stares at Jack for a moment, then nods his head.
"Aye. That'll about do it." Gibbs says
Jack offers his right-hand to Gibbs, which he gladly accepts, and pulls the old sailor rises up onto his feet. Once he was up, Will throws his bucket of water at Gibbs, getting him all wet again. Gibbs sputters and shook the water from his head.
"Blast, chap! I'm already awake!" Gibbs yells
"That was for the smell." Will says
Will and Jack shared glances with each other, while Gibbs simply shrugged his shoulders.
Going back into town, the group went to one of the many taverns in Tortuga called: The Faithful Bride, which was little more than an oversized shack, constructed from the timbers of wrecked ships. Inside, fights often broke out between drunk pirates for silly reasons like a spilled drink or for no reason whatsoever. Jack casually walks across the tavern, past the fighting pirates with two mugs of rum in his hands. One for him, and one for Gibbs. He stops by Will Turner, who was leaning against a wooden column on his right-side, and looks around to make sure nobody was watching before turning to him and speaking close to his ear.
"Keep a sharp eye." Jack says
Jack then turns to Devon, Sora, and their group, who were seated nearby at a table. Luna, Toothless, Spyro and Cynder were the only dragons able to fit inside the tavern since the others waited outside, and the two Night Furies sat on their haunches alongside their riders at the table.
"You lot sit tight. I've a matter to discuss with Mister Gibbs." Jack says
"Aye, Cap." Devon says
Luna, Toothless, Spyro and Cynder nod their heads in understanding. Everyone watches Jack as he heads over and sits down with Gibbs in a booth, then they turned to the rest of the pirates in the tavern, observing them as they continued with their fights.
"Now, what's the nature of this venture of your'n?" Gibbs asks before taking a swig of his drink
"I'm going after the Black Pearl." Jack says
Gibbs chokes and coughs on his drink, but he pounds his chest with his left-hand.
"I know where it's going to be, and I'm gonna take it." Jack says
Gibbs stared at his comrade in disbelief and shook his head.
"Jack, it's a fool's errand. You know better than me the tales of the Black Pearl." Gibbs says
"That's why I know what Barbossa is up to. All I need is a crew." Jack says
"And what do you make of Devon, Sora, and their group?" Gibbs says
Jack and Gibbs look over towards the world-travelers as they sat together. Luna scratched the back of her head a couple times using her right hind leg like a dog would and shook her head once she was finished. Devon stroked his right-hand gently down the back of her head and neck, feeling the female Night Fury's smooth scales, while she crooned in comfort. Fishlegs was still looking over the map of the Caribbean he brought along from the Interceptor. And Toothless' face contorted as he let out a loud sneeze, shaking his head afterwards.
"Gesundheit." Goofy says
Toothless turned to Goofy on his right and crooned as he tried to physically talk with his dragon voice.
"Wrran wrroou." Toothless croons
Devon, Luna, Spyro, Cynder, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Hiccup, and Astrid chuckled and laughed. It was adorable and funny at the same time to see Toothless attempt to speak physically. Jack and Gibbs saw this as well, and the pirate let out a chuckle himself.
"They are a curious bunch, but they seem to have had their own fair share of adventures same as us." Jack says
"Huh... Still, it's odd to come across a group of young dragon riders here in the Caribbean." Gibbs says
"The world is vast and full of strange things." Jack says
"Aye, true." Gibbs says nodding his head in agreement
Gibbs turns back to face Jack as he continued their conversation.
"But I hear Captain Barbossa's not a man to suffer fools, nor strike a bargain with one." Gibbs says
"Well then, it's a very good thing I'm not a fool." Jack says
"Prove me wrong. What makes you think Barbossa will give up his ship to you?" Gibbs asks
"Let's just say it's a matter of leverage. Eh?" Jack says
Will glances back over his left-shoulder, thinking he might've heard Jack say something about him, but he turns back to keep watch.
"Huh?" Gibbs says
Jack points over to the left with his head, but Gibbs was still confused. He didn't know what his captain was gesturing towards.
"Eh?" Gibbs says
Jack continues pointing his head to the left, grunting softly. Finally, Gibbs turns and looks over at Will as a large, drunk woman rubs up against him, laughing hysterically with a mug of rum in her left-hand. Devon, Sora, and the others watched with awkward expressions.
"The kid?" Gibbs asks turning back to his comrade
"That is the child of Bootstrap Bill Turner. His only child. Savvy?" Jack says
"Is he now?" Gibbs says smiling with intrigue as he glances over at Will
A drunken man comes over to the group and drags his woman away, much to Will's great relief. After watching him, Gibbs turns back to Jack.
"Leverage, says you. I think I feel a change in the wind, says I. I'll find us a crew. There's bound to be sailors on this rock crazy as you." Gibbs says
"One can only hope." Jack says
Jack raises up his mug up in his right-hand.
"Take what you can." Jack says
"Give nothing back!" Gibbs says smiling
The two pirates clink their drinks together and take a swig before setting them down on their table.
Elsewhere, the Black Pearl sails through the dark waters of the sea on a misty, moonlit night with the full moon shining up in slightly clear skies.
Inside the ship's cabin, Pintel and Ragetti approach Elizabeth Swann with Pintel holding a red dress in his hands. The dress was elaborate and exquisitely detailed, made from plum-colored silk with black lace insets, brocaded accents, cream linen-and-lace sleeves and a full-length black skirt. The bodice opened from the front, and was held closed by gold buttons. The dress was worn with heeled black square-toed shoes, with plum trim and gold-finished buckles.
"You'll be dining with the captain, and he requests that you wear this." Pintel says
"Well, you may tell the captain that I'm disinclined to acquiesce to his request." Elizabeth says
The two pirates glanced at each other and chuckled before facing Elizabeth.
"He knew you'd say that. He also said if that be the case, you'll be dining with the crew, and you'll be naked." Pintel says smiling
Pintel and Ragetti chuckled and laughed at the thought of seeing a lovely young maiden like Elizabeth nude. Elizabeth, however, felt disgusted, and she quickly snatches the red dress from Pintel, causing him and his partner to frown in disappointment.
"Fine." Pintel says
Later in the captain's cabin, a wide variety of food was placed down on a table for Captain Barbossa and his guest. A small plate with rolls of bread, a full roasted pig with a red apple in its mouth, a large cod fish surrounded by small lobsters, a plate with chicken thighs, and a bowl full of fruit such as green and purple grapes, yellow bananas, and green apples. Elizabeth ate her food as a young woman with proper table manners, using a fork and knife to cut and eat pieces of the pork, while Barbossa sat on his side of the table on her right. But what was odd is that the Pirate Captain never even touched the food. He was more interested in watching his guest eat. As he did, Barbossa chuckled in amusement at her table manners.
"There's no need to stand on ceremony, no call to impress anyone. You must be hungry." Barbossa says
Elizabeth stopped as she took his words into consideration. Then, her instincts took over. Dropping the utensils, she grabs the pork leg in her hands and munches down on it with a couple bites, digging into her food. Once she had her fill, she grabs a bread roll and takes a bite out of it. As Elizabeth eats, Barbossa pours a drink of red wine into a gold chalice and offers it to her.
"Try the wine." Barbossa says
Elizabeth takes the chalice from Barbossa's left-hand and drinks from it before setting it down. Then, Barbossa holds out a green apple in his hand as his next offer.
"And the apples. One of those next." Barbossa says
Elizabeth stops and stares at the apple in his hand with a wary expression. She glances up at Barbossa's pet monkey as it stares at her from its hanging perch with its black eyes, then looks back down at the Pirate Captain, dropping the bread roll in her hands.
"It's poisoned." Elizabeth says
Barbossa chuckled in amusement.
"There would be no sense to be killin' you, Miss Turner." Barbossa says with a smile
"Then release me. You have your trinket. I'm of no further value to you." Elizabeth says
The Pirate Captain rests his right-arm on the table with the medallion resting over his hand.
"You don't know what this is, do you?" Barbossa asks
"It's a pirate medallion." Elizabeth says
"This is no mere trinket, missy. This is Aztec gold. One of eight hundred and eighty-two identical pieces they delivered in a stone chest to Hernán Cortés himself. Blood money paid to stem the slaughter he wreaked upon them with his armies, but the greed of Cortés was insatiable. So the heathen gods placed upon the gold... a terrible curse. Any mortal that removes but a single piece from that stone chest shall be punished for eternity." Barbossa says
"I hardly believe in ghost stories anymore, Captain Barbossa." Elizabeth says
"Aye." Barbossa says
The Pirate Captain rises up from his seat and walks around from the left to the young maiden's side of the table.
"That's exactly what I thought when we were first told the tale. Buried on an Island of the Dead what cannot be found, 'cept for those who already know where it is." Barbossa says
Once he reaches her, Barbossa leans down alongside Elizabeth on her left as he continues his tale.
"Find it we did. There be the chest. Inside be the gold." Barbossa says stretching his left-hand ahead as if the chest were before them
Next, Barbossa clenches his hand into a fist and pulls it back as if to claim his treasure.
"And we took 'em all! We spent 'em, traded 'em, and frittered 'em away on drink, food, and pleasurable company." Barbossa says
Moving around to the other side of Elizabeth's chair, Barbossa leans down and looks right at her.
"The more we gave 'em away, the more we came to realize... The drink would not satisfy. Food turned to ash in our mouths. And all the pleasurable company in the world could not slake our lust." Barbossa says
The Pirate Captain backs away a few feet from the young maiden, keeping his gaze fixed on her.
"We are cursed men, Miss Turner. Compelled by greed we were, but now... we are consumed by it." Barbossa says spreading his arms out
Barbossa's monkey screeches and jumps up and down on its perch, demanding his attention. As the Pirate Captain walks over to his pet, Elizabeth takes the gold knife from the table and hides it away on her person. Barbossa strokes the back of his monkey and gives the medallion to the small, furry creature before going back to their conversation.
"There is one way we can end our curse." Barbossa says
Barbossa turns to his left and faces Elizabeth, while his pet monkey jumps onto his left-shoulder.
"All the scattered pieces of the Aztec gold must be gathered and restored to the chest, and the blood repaid, for every soul who touched a piece o' the treasure." Barbossa says
The Pirate Captain turns away to his right and walks toward the three large windows at the rear of the cabin, gazing out at the open sea.
"Miss Turner. For ten years we've searched every league of these waters, every town and village, preying on sailors and settlers alike. Eight hundred and eighty-one pieces we found, but despaired of ever finding the last. All those years, you've been safe in your bed, readin' your pirate stories, dreamin' of adventure on the high seas, we've endured torments worse than death itself." Barbossa says
Barbossa's monkey jumps down to the floor and scurried off, while he turns around to his right to face Elizabeth once more.
"But now, thanks to ye, we have the final piece at last. When this medallion is restored to the chest, we'll be free to roam the seas as men. No longer will we be ghosts." Barbossa says
"And the blood to be repaid?" Elizabeth asks
"That's why there's no sense to be killin' ye... yet." Barbossa says
Elizabeth stared at the Pirate Captain with a horrified expression and widened eyes. She was to become a blood sacrifice! Barbossa, on the other hand, stood with a calm smile on his face, and once again offered his apple to the young maiden as he held it out in his left-hand.
"Apple?" Barbossa says
Now knowing the truth of her capture, Elizabeth slaps away the fruit with her right-hand, leaps up from her seat, and attempts to make a run for it. Barbossa chases after her as she runs around a column, and shifts from one side to the other to block and catch her.
"Arrrr!" Barbossa snarls
When she finally runs out around the column, Barbossa catches Elizabeth, grabbing her by her left-arm. The young woman screams and turns around, stabbing the Pirate Captain in the chest with her knife. Barbossa glances down at the knife, not bothered whatsoever by the wound. He grabs the gold utensil with his right-hand and pulls it out with its entire blade coated in blood, while Elizabeth stares in utter shock.
"I'm curious. After killin' me, what is it you plan on doing next?" Barbossa asks turning to the young maiden
Elizabeth runs and bursts out of the captain's cabin, pushing away the double doors, and stumbles out onto the main deck into a nightmare. The entire crew of the Black Pearl were all undead skeletons, and all of them were currently working at their stations, coiling the lines and swabbing the decks. The young woman tried to get away, but was caught in the middle of the cursed pirates. She soon fell backwards into the open cargo hold, landing on a blanket held taut by six pirates down below, and was flung up twice high into the air. Elizabeth falls back down, only to be caught by another skeletal pirate as he swings by on a mast line.
"Boo!" The pirate says
The young woman screams in terror, while the pirates continued working. They both fall onto the quarterdeck and the Elizabeth runs around to the other side of the helm. From his side, the pirate reaches for the young woman with both arms extended. Elizabeth spins the helm towards her, causing the pegs on the wheel to strike the skeletal pirate six times under his chin. The final hit bends the pirate's head completely backwards, but he simply pushes it back into place, growling angrily with a menacing look. Elizabeth ran down and hid underneath the stairway. Then, Barbossa's pet monkey swung down on a rope behind her, screeching loudly with the medallion in its right-hand and scaring her with its skeletal appearance. Elizabeth jumped up, heading for the safety of the captain's cabin, but Barbossa was waiting for her just inside the doorway. He grabbed her roughly and jerked her back around, pulling her closer as he directed her attention toward the moon above them.
"Look! The moonlight shows us for what we really are." Barbossa says
Elizabeth and Barbossa glance down and face the cursed crew as they gathered infront of them.
"We are not among the living and so we cannot die. But neither are we dead." Barbossa says
Barbossa spins Elizabeth around to the right, making her face him.
"For too long I've been parched of thirst, unable to quench it. Too long I've been starving to death, and haven't died." Barbossa says
The Pirate Captain slowly starts to walk toward the young woman, while she backs away fearfully.
"I feel nothing. Not the wind on my face nor the spray of the sea... nor the warmth of a woman's flesh." Barbossa says
Barbossa extends his right-hand toward Elizabeth, and the flesh vanished from his bones, causing her to back away and gasp in shock. Barbossa steps out into the moonlight and reveals his true form as his entire body turns skeletal, transforming into a living corpse with his clothes in tattered pieces. His appearance had somewhat less decomposition than that of his crewmen. The soft tissues of his nose remained, whereas most of his crew's nasal cavities were exposed.
"You'd best start believing in ghost stories, Miss Turner. You're in one!" Barbossa says
Barbossa takes out a glass bottle of wine, pulls out the cork with his teeth and spits it away, then lifts his head up as he drinks. The red wine flows down through the bones of his rib cage, but spills onto the deck. Elizabeth watches in horror, then runs past the Pirate Captain and into the cabin. Barbossa turns to his right and throws his empty bottle against the right-side door of the cabin, which shatters on impact, then closes both doors with his hands, pulling them inward. After that, he turns around to his left to face his crew of undead pirates and laughs.
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Barbossa laughs
All of the pirates laughed along with their captain until he shouts at them.
"What are you looking at?! Back to work!" Barbossa shouts
The pirates stopped laughing and immediately scrambled around to return to their duties aboard the deck.
Inside the captain's cabin, Elizabeth cowered away in a corner in a fetal position for the remainder of the voyage, terrified of what she had seen.
