"I'm Keenan. This story happened at my very own school."
"It was almost the end of the school day and some students were just counting down the minutes until we could leave. We only had two classes to get through. Since we finished the lesson early, our teacher used his computer for us to play some education games on the projector."
Keenan had an easy class today. After finishing the lessons, his teacher has them playing education games so Keenan could just relax until his last class.
"We were just going through a round when there was an announcement made. All the teachers were told that this was not a drill and the school had to go into lockdown. There was a man that broke into the school and he's possibly armed. From the look on my teacher's face, I could tell this was serious or else he would have been notified ahead of time."
As Keenan and the rest of his class were playing games, there was an announcement saying the school had to go into lockdown because of a possible armed and dangerous man. This was a real situation.
"Our teacher instructed us to move to the back of the classroom while he locked the door and turned off the lights. We all just sat there and no one said a word. Only a couple minutes passed, but the silence made it feel like it was much longer."
Keenan and his class moved to the back of the classroom just like the teacher instructed as he made sure the classroom was locked. With them unable to hear a sound, everyone was getting anxious and everything felt like it was just dragging on.
"Nothing happened at first, but that quickly changed. We could all hear the sound of someone screaming and yelling. Whoever it was moved closer and closer with the screaming getting louder. That's what helped me realized that this was actually happening. Someone broke into our school and possibly meant to cause all of us some harm. He kept shouting stuff like he'll find us, kill us, and kept demanding that someone opens a door."
Keenan and his class could hear the sounds of the madman outside the class and he was getting closer and closer. It was unbelievable because a situation like this doesn't normally happen.
"He soon reached our classroom and he started banging on our door. I actually began to fear for my life thinking he could bust down the door. I could actually see a faint trace of him outside the window and I thought I could see what looked like a knife."
The intruder soon reached their classroom and was banging on the door, trying to bust it down because it seemed like he wanted to kill. Keenan and his class were very scared now and it didn't help that Keenan can see a faint trace of him.
"A girl in class actually started to cry. I had to try and keep her quiet to make it look like the classroom was empty."
It was looking very scary. A girl even began to cry, but Keenan covered her mouth with his hand to keep her quiet.
"It felt like a so long until he finally moved away from the door. We could hear some shouting going on, but we couldn't see what was happening. Then, we actually heard a gunshot go off."
"Bang!" They heard the sound of a gun and everything just went quiet with everyone feeling like they almost died from the shock of the sound.
"After that, everything went quiet. It still felt like it was forever until an announcement was finally able to come on. We were told to resume classes, but we are to remain in the rooms we were currently in until further notice. That's just what we did. We all remained in the classrooms and no one dared leave any of them. We just waited it out until they said we were allowed to leave, so my class continued playing games to try and take our minds off what happened."
It was eerie how everything got quiet after the sound of a gun going off. After that, they were all told they were free to resume classes as long as they all remained where they were. That's just what they did with Keenan's class continue to play games until they were allowed to leave.
"Eventually, I found out what happened. When the guy was banging against our door, security came. They told him to drop his weapon and surrender, but the man was crazy enough to actually attack them. The gunshot we heard was actually from a security guard and killed the guy in just one shot. It's hard to imagine that this actually happened at school. I don't think I'll ever look at the door of that classroom the same because a man was actually shot and killed just outside the room."
