- Hagakure POV - 1:39 AM -

Hagakure had to kill Midoriya. She didn't know why she was ordered to, just that she had to do it by tonight. Reluctance pooled in her gut as she stood outside Midoriya's room, totally invisible and a knife in her trembling hand.

She didn't want to do this.

The door opened and closed. Not a single noise was made as she hovered over the bed in the darkness, green hair spilled across the pillow.

"I'm sorry" Wet streaks came down from her eyes, her voice wobbly. "I'm so sorry, but I have to do this."

The knife came down.

There was no sound of tearing flesh or dripping, warm blood.

Only the cock of a gun from behind her.

"Do you want to tell me what, exactly, you are doing?'

She lunged, but only succeeded at landing on the ground, a knee digging into her spine and her arms pinned. Her knife landed across the room with a dull thunk. She didn't even get to blink. It happened so fast.

She felt the barrel of the gun on the back of her skull.

"Do you want to try that again?" His voice was deeper than what she usually heard, with much less stuttering.

"I- I'm here to kill you." She tried to sound confident, but what came out wasn't it.

"...Yes…I can see that." Her face burned in embarrassment. She could literally hear the dryness in his voice. Of all the situations she expected to happen, this was not one of them. Pinned against the ground, she became very aware that she was naked. And with a boy on top of her. "I- um, can you let me up?"

Izuku waited a moment, then she heard a sigh, and the weight of his body lifted off her. "You weigh a ton." Hagakure groaned.

The lights turned on and she saw Izuku sitting in the chair in the corner. He was wearing some type of goggles, probably infrared. Well that explained how he pinned her down so fast.

His gun was still aimed at her.

"Explain, now." Wow, he had a no-nonsense tone. She didn't even know he could do that.

"You wouldn't understand…" She wanted to explain, she really did, but he couldn't do anything about it. She had to kill him.

"Try me." His eyebrow was raised. Shit, he had a disapproving dad look too? She was learning all kinds of new things tonight.

She eyed the knife across the room. There was no way she would be able to get there fast enough when he had a gun on her.

Izuku kept staring until she talked.

"Ugh, fine. This was a bust anyways, my cover's blown and there's nothing I can do." She blew her chance, her only chance and now she has to face the consequences. "They…they have my family hostage, and they said that if I didn't kill you, they would kill my family."

Sadness saturated her tone. Unless she could convince him to give up his life, her family was dead. Hagakure didn't even know if that was possible anymore with how different Izuku was acting. He was usually nice and selfless, if a bit awkward. But now, his body just screamed danger and calmness. It made her tense up by just looking at him. Something was very different with him.

"And who is 'they'?"

"The, uh, League of Villains." She rushed that last bit quietly. And as she looked at Izuku, he didn't seem surprised. "Wait…you already knew?"

"I had my suspicions."

"Did you tell anybody?" She was panicking, if the teachers already knew then she was screwed. "Please tell me you didn't tell anybody."

"No, only I know."

She sagged in relief. There was still a chance she could succeed in her mission. "Look, I need to kill you. I have to kill you. If I don't…" She was begging, she needed to do this. "Please, I know that it's your life that I'm talking about but please…"

"There's no need. Your family will be out of the country by tomorrow morning." Her head snapped up, looking at him with wide eyes. "You're lucky that Ochako cares about you."

And with that Izuku left.

A million thoughts flowed through her mind, but doubt seeped in. There was no way that Izuku said could happen. The League had her family and there was nothing the both of them could do about it.

But if he was telling the truth…

Tears crawled down her face as she sobbed. Izuku had done so much already. He fought the Nomu at the USJ, His spirit towards others at the sports festival, how he saved Kota at the training camp, and how he marched right into villain territory to save Bakugo.

If he was telling the truth…then her family was going to be safe, and she was no longer a slave.
