So, since I decided to redo this story, things have obviously changed; names, events, characters, and plots. One of those things being the prologue. This version shows part of a battle with the original W.I.T.C.H. characters. At this point the original Guardians are older(in their 40s) and still have been fighting.

I also tried to slow it down a bit. Meaning it doesn't happen within a month or less time, in order to show more of each of the main characters' personality and such.

This story is based solely on the cartoon since I'm still in the process of reading the comics.

I hope you enjoy this new version and don't forget to leave a review.

The sound of metal clashing and cries for the lost or wounded could be heard throughout the battle grounds. Unfortunately, there was only so much they could do, so many they could save, in a war there will always be causalities but that can't be the reason they stop fighting. They need to continue on, not just for the sake of Earth but for the sake of all the Infinite Dimensions.

Will spotted Cornelia and Irma taking down a squadron of soldiers with their combined elements in the center of the village, as Hay-Lin held back the enemy in order for innocent civilians to get through one of the open portals to a safe dimension. Will shot down a few who were trying to attack the air guardian while she searched for Taranee. The Keeper of the Heart could not find the fire guardian among the creatures in the sky so she directed her eyes to the grounds below her, first searching all the areas where fires were set ablaze. When she didn't locate her, Will flew down and over the ongoing battles, zapping as many enemies as she could, while her eyes darted frantically around in search for her friend.

"Shit." She flew back over to the other three, unsuccessful at finding her. "Have any of you seen Taranee?"

Cornelia and Irma shook their heads, no, their faces matching Will's equally worried expression.

"Last time I saw her, she and Nigel were heading into the forest," Hay-Lin replied, blasting back a couple of enemies. "I think I heard them say something about a family still being lost in the forest but this was a while ago."

"She's not responding through telepathy, either," Irma said, standing on her tippy toes to see if she could spot her friend. "But she could just be out of reach."

Will shook her head. "I don't have a good feeling about this. You three stay here and continued with the evacuations, I'll grab Matt and see if we can find her."

"Alright, be careful, Will," Cornelia said, clearing the way for the leader to take off.

"You too," she called back, flying off to find Taranee.

Getting Matt and leading him into the forest, Will continued trying to contact Taranee through her mind while calling out for her as well. The forest was outlandishly quiet, the war going on was distant noise and even the animals were silent, something was definitely wrong.

"Nigel! Taranee!" Will called out only to be met with silence. "Where are you?"

"Will!" Matt gestured to Will to him.

Once she got to him, she saw him pointing at three bodies of a family on the ground; no doubt the one Taranee and Nigel were searching for. A mother, a father, and a small child. Each one of the bodies looked like they had the life sucked out of them, aged to the point where they were all skin and bones with their eye sockets sunken in and skin turned a ghostly grey. It was a gruesome sight Will had to look way from. Matt pulled her into his arms, comforting her as best as possible.

"Will!"

Her head snapped up, Taranee's voice sounded close.

"Taranee! Where are you?"

The two headed in the direction her voice came from, seeing a clearing up ahead. Breaking through the clearing the two saw Taranee kneeling on the other side, hunched over someone's body.

"Taranee!" Will rushed over to her, to see that she was holding Nigel. He had a wound on his forehead that, luckily, did not look too bad, maybe only needed a few stitches. "Is he okay?"

Taranee nodded her head. "He just got knocked out." She looked up at Will, her hands were shaking as they kept a hold on Nigel motionless body. "She's here." Her voice was brittle as she spoke. "And she wants you, Will."

"Where is she?" Will clenched her teeth, ready to end this for good right here and now.

"Right here, Darling," the voice echoed around the clearing, coming through all the shadows that surrounded them, taunting the Guardians and their companions.

"If you want me, I'm right here!" Will screamed at the shadows, throwing her arms out, demanding her to come and get what she wanted. "Come on!"

A shadowy figure rushed from the tree line and right for Will, giving the Guardian exactly what she asked for.

"WILL!"

So I decided to post this story on here as well. Hope you enjoy it!
