Although he wasn't very proud to admit it, Marshmallow hadn't always...liked Olaf.

He was born knowing three things, he was strong, who his master was and what she wanted him to do. He did not stop to think who he was, what he wanted, who were those he throw away or what they told him, he had a purpose, a mission, and he would fulfill it even if he had to do bad things.

He didn't question his existence, not even when his leg was cut off causing him to fall off deep down in the mountain, not even when it took him days to climb back up to the castle only to find it empty.

The first time he did something just because he wanted to do it was when he put on his crown for the first time.

Even then, he stubbornly refused to accept the fact that he was more than a weapon, an object or a snow monster.

That's why he didn't like Olaf, the snowman treated him like person, asking his opinion and actually wanting to talk to him. Marshmallow considered him a traitor at the time for not obeying they creator and for making his job of taking care of the palace more difficult. It got to the point that every time he left, Marshmallow wished he never come back.

Fortunately, his wishes never came true and Olaf always returned, sometimes with a new story, sometimes with a new gift, but he always remembered his brother and actually making an effort to know him better.

After a while Marshmallow got used to his presence and let him be (only because he didn't want to chase him around anymore, his leg was still healing), to which Olaf considered this as a 'yes' to his friendship proposal and became even clingier. He talked about so many things that Marshmallow only dreamed of understanding, he explained his vision of life and how he led his own existence. Marshmallow didn't know at what point he started listening.

If he could, Marshmallow would travel back in time to tell his younger self not to be stupid, that he was more than 'that snow monster', that he would have a family that loved him, a peaceful life, that he would learn what happiness is, what pain is, that he would be the protector of wonderful little brothers and that he would come to appreciate this gift that ended up being life.

His brother helped him learn to live.

So, why did his brother seem to be suffering?!

The night fell on the north mountain and as usual everyone went out to see the stars. From up there they had one of the best views of the night sky and it's almost a tradition to go out to see them every time Olaf came to visit, however, the older brother did not seem to enjoy them.

Marshmallow was glad he wasn't the only one who notice his brother's behavior. More than one Snowgie came to him with worried faces, as if wondering if something was wrong with Olaf, who was no longer laughing or dancing or doing anything Olaf would normally do.

If he had an answer, the giant snowman would have given it, but he was equally or more ignorant than the little ones, so he made up vague excuses to calm them down. They accepted it and returned to the game, but Marshmallow couldn't help the doubt in their small coal eyes.

Now, Olaf did not point to the stars and explain the drawings called constellations in them, nor did he tell stories about things that had happened while he looked at them, he didn't even have a smile on his face! He just... looked at them like they were nothing! Olaf loved the stars!

Marshmallow wanted to scream, he wanted to ask his brother what was wrong, why was he acting like this that worried everyone, what had the stars done to him to piss him off and oh damn, Marshmallow would find a way to go up to the sky and hit the stars for bothering his brother.

He was full of complicated feelings, feelings that Olaf couldn't explain now, so it was his duty to understand them and somehow help his brother.

But for the moment, all he could do was sit silently with his family, asking the stars for help.

I hope you liked it.

To clarify, this story takes place after Frozen 2, but before the 'At home with Olaf' and 'Olaf tells' shorts.

And I will not be taking relevance .from the books, comics, games, etc that may be related to Frozen, I will only take what was seen in movies and shorts.

With that out of the way, thanks for reading.
