Isabela said legitimately confused, the children started to murmur as Mirabel was glancing at Dolores wine glass with a bit of jealousy*
Alma:yes, yes she is
Both Dolores and Mirabel flinched slightly hearing it again this time from the matriarch of the family made it all seem all the more real. The children were looking at Dolores surprised no one more then surprisingly Isabela*
Isabela:wait wait wait. Since when were you in a relationship with someone?
Dolores: I've never been in any relationship. Our sweet abuela thought it best to force a marriage on me and my future wife
Dolores said her tone filled with poison no one in the family thought could be throwned at alma. Dolores glanced at Mirabel giving her at least a few more moments to get ready with the way she said it. As for alma? Like she said she took the hate without flinching*
Alma;yes, it's what best for our family and maybe even the encanto that you will be seen in a better light
Dolores wanted to give a response but she decided it's not even worth it anymore*
Dolores "not like I can change there minds now"
Dolores thought as she tried to pour herself another glass but she felt her mother's hand ontop of her's to stop it. She glanced at pepa who gave her a pleading look not to do it. With a frustrated sigh she placed her hand back to her thigh*
Camilo:so who's the unlucky girl?
Felix:Camilo that's not nice
Camilo: i wasn't trying to be
Alma:Camilo Enough I will not have you start a fight. Not tonight
Alma said sharply making Camilo shut up, with a breath alma continued*
Alma: I've decided that Dolores shall be married by the end of the year to give Dolores and her fiancee time to get used to being next to each other
Luisa:ok, but who's gonna marry Dolores?
The parents flinched and got a guilty look on there faces, Dolores sighed and Mirabel grew a nervous smile her leg started jumping up and down under the table from how nervous she was*
Alma:Dolores shall be marry to...Mirabel
Now you could really hear a pin drop, the children eyes started widening slowly as the information started making way to there brains. It got a ray of different emotions from shock, surprise, and trembling*
Antonio"Mami is getting married? But if she gets married she'll forget about me..."
Antonio said her head down looking at the food not liking the information. Everyone looked at Camilo who made a sound, he was laughing*
Antonio:pfff ahahaha oh God that's a good one!
Alma:and what pray tell it's so funny young man?
Alma said with her arm crossed, Camilo just keep chuckling at the very thought*
Camilo;come on abuela you can't get pass one on someone like me. Mirabel and Dolores marriage? That's obviously just a joke, a bad one at that
Camilo said looking around for support then he saw the guilty look of the adults, Mirabel and Dolores stopped eating all together and alma kept her stern look*
Alma:I wasn't make any sort of joke
Camilo looked as if someone gut punched him and he wasn't the only one*
Luisa:w...wait wait wait wait a damn minute! Mirabel is 15 she can't get married!
Luisa said pushing her chair closer to Mirabel for some sort of protection*
Alma:she has the consent of her parents and mine the matriarch
Luisa:mom won't you say something?!
Julieta:it's what's best for everybody Luisa please don't make a scene
Luisa looked horrified looking at her parents the people that are supposed to know best and protect them would do something like this, she looked down at mirabel who was eating*
Luisa:Mirabel...
Mirabel:just drop it Luisa
Mirabel finally spoke with a sigh as she looked up at her big sister with a small smile*
Mirabel:yes, I'm disappointed or more like heartbroken I suppose is the more correct term that our parents agreed do this but there's nothing that can be done now except accept it
Mirabel said with a shrug Luisa looked at Dolores who was ignoring her mother and poured herself wine glass number 2 to ignore Camilo and his questions. Just as Dolores had the glass on her lips the glass cracked from the pressure Dolores gave it*
Dolores:care to repeat that Isabela?
Dolores said making everyone go quiet and looked at Isabela and Dolores girls who used to be as close as twins now couldn't be more different*
Isabela:hm? You must be hearing things I haven't said a word
Dolores:oh your right silly me it must've been my imagination that you said "giftless will do anything attention what a freak"
Dolores said with a sharp smile, small gasp could be heard at the table as Dolores and Isabella gave the other a smiling glare daring the other to say anything*
Alma:Isabela did you say that?
Alma said softly Isabela looked at her grandmother and tried to defend herself*
Mirabel: another thing I've told you all for years but only now you notice?
Everyone looked at Mirabel who got up losing her appetite. The fake smile was gone now there was just a neutral expression on her face as she looked at the adults*
Mirabel:I wouldn't bother in a punishment since it's far too late for that my sister is who she is
Isabela:and what do you mean by that?
Isabela sneered taking her parents but especially alma off guard seeing there perfect flower crack even if it was for a moment*
Mirabel:oh I don't know might be the fact that you started the giftless nickname, or that I was adopted and that's why I didn't get a gift, might be the fact that you and your friends make my life hell just because I skip a couple of grades and I'm a senior like the rest of you? I could go on but honestly I lost my appetite. I'm gonna take a guess that my stuff are in your room?
Mirabel asked Dolores who looked just as surprised as the rest of them that Mirabel skipped a few grades. Mirabel raised her eyebrow making Dolores shake her head*
Dolores:uh, yeah we even got a new bed to share I'll... I'll be there after eating
Mirabel;ok, excuse me but I'm going to bed early today
Mirabel left the room and in to her new room. Once they all heard the door click some took a breath they don't know they were holding, but Isabela had to open her mouth*
Isabela: honestly she can be such a...
Alma:Isabela enough!
Alma said screaming at the flower for the first time since anyone can remember. Isabela looked like a fish out of water, her mouth opening up and down not believing that her abuela screamed at her*
Alma:I'll ask you once and only once is what Mirabel said true?
Isabela:no of course not! Abuela come on you know how Mirabel will do anything for attention
Alma: I see...
Everyone sighed thinking the status quo was returned, so they started to finish there meal faster then usual*
Alma: Agustín, Julieta tomorrow your coming with me to the school
Isabela felt as if her heart leapt in to her throat. Agustín and Julieta both looked at alma equally surprised*
Agustín:why? What are we gonna do?
Alma:we are gonna talk with the teacher's of the school and see who's telling the truth
Isabela's eyes went wider and wider as she tried to spit something out anything but no words would come out. Dolores just as surprised but then a smirk appeared on her face as she kept eating the food tasting just a little more tasty tonight*
Isabela:abuela you don't believe me? You've always trusted me!
Alma:one I will not have you raise your voice on me am I understood?
Isabela flinched and looked down nodding her head*
Alma:and two I trusted you because you were the oldest, but trust doesn't mean blindly following. The only reason I've never checked up on your claims and just believed you, is because I'm too old to check on all of them, but this time? I'll make and exception, now eat and pray you weren't lying
Isabela started to tremble with sadnesses fury? She couldn't tell you, all she did was eat controlling her anger or trying to as her fork started to get bent. Alma noticed it but decides to not say anything*
Alma"hay Pedro I know it's selfish but please let Isabela be telling the truth because if she's not that puts everything she's ever said to me In to question, please please please let her be right..."
