The following day,
The sub's main weapons systems goes online with Marcus, Sam, Anya and Jace mannning the pods armed with cannons.
"Whoa! What's this place called? Anybody know?" asked Dizzy.
"No idea, but the grubs must've sunk it" said Sam.
"Man this is beautiful, but I had my fill of ghost towns" said Jace.
"Stay alert, it might not be a ghost town after all" said Master Chief.
"Okay, we're close to Azura, so we'll hit the Maelstrom soon. Everyone man the pods. Diz, take us in nice and easy" said Marcus.
"Yeah, I better start powering up the guns" said Dizzy.
"Locke, Kelly, Tanaka, we need to be their eyes and ears out there. Focus on the radar." said Master Chief.
"Understood" said Locke.
"Jacinto probably looks just like this now" said Anya.
"Yeah and we did that to ourselves too" added Sam.
"You all did what you had to" said Kelly.
"At what cost?" asked Anya.
"Living to fight another day" said Chief.
"Well, there's no point crying over what we could have done differently. Because we'll never know" said Marcus.
"Alright, guns are live! Now don't be shootin' each other" said Dizzy.
"You know what? I never used these flechette guns before" said Jace.
"Blocked passageway up ahead" said Chief.
"Yeah, we could do away with some practice" said Sam.
Marcus fired the guns destroying the pillars to clear a path.
"Okay, I'm powerin' down the guns. It's all quiet. No point wastin' juice" said Dizzy.
"Be advised, path ahead is filled with mines." said Locke.
"He's right Marcus, I'm seeing a lot of explosives out here" said Jace.
"Everyone keep their eyes open! We didn't come all this way to be killed by our own goddamn mines!" said Marcus.
"Picking up something" said Tanaka.
A sea creature passed them by.
"Check this thing out" said Marcus.
"Looks like we got an escort" said Anya.
"Maybe I should've been a marine biologist" joked Kelly.
"And he's brought some friends too" said Jace.
"I see 'em" said Marcus.
"They could be closing in on us, stay alert" said Chief.
One of the sea creatures bashed its head onto Marcus' pod.
"Ah, these goddamn things are getting dangerous! Take 'em out!" said Marcus
The team quickly kills the sea creatures before it could take down the sub.
"Ah shit! We're taking on water!" shouts Jace
"Look out there's more of 'em! said Sam.
"We need to take evasive action!" said Chief.
"Yeah, I can see 'em. You keep shootin' 'em, I'll get us outta here!" said Dizzy.
"They're dead ahead!" said Anya.
"I'm takin' her down. In gotta get those things off our ass!" said Dizzy
"Yo Dizzy, how deep can this thing go?" asked Jace.
"Son, that ain't gonna matter if those crazy fish bust a hole in us!" said Dizzy.
"Look out! They're attacking from above!" said Anya.
"Focus fire!" said Locke.
"They're dead ahead!" said Anya.
"More and more of the sea creatures try to throw their bodies onto the sub until the sub reaches an algae forest to lose them.
"We're clear! I can't see them!" said Anya.
"Yeah but that doesn't mean they can't find us." adds Sam.
"For now, we're at leat out of their sight" said Chief.
"Multiple incoming!" said Tanaka
"Look out!" adds Anya
"They're following the searchlights! Dizzy, kill the lights and get us outta here!" said Marcus.
"You got it!" said Dizzy.
"Thanks Dizzy I can't see a goddamn thing!" said Jace.
"It's okay, we can pick out the real big stuff on the sonar" said Dizzy.
"We got you six" said Locke.
"Anything trailin' us now?" asked Marcus
"Nothin' on sonar" said Dizzy.
"Dizzy, how's the sub holding up?" asked Anya.
"Nothing's busted yet ma'am. We're okay." said Dizzy.
Sonar the began to pick up a signal.
"I'm picking up movement from the sonar. Something big" said Chief.
The sound grew louder and closer.
"Everybody quiet! You hear that?" asked Marcus.
"God, that sounds like an earthquake. That's weird." adds Anya.
"It's right on top of us!" said Locke.
"Dizzy...Dizzy hit the lights!" said Marcus.
The sub's searchlights power up revealing a passing leviathan as it barely missed the team.
"Whoo! That was close!" said Jace.
"Hang on!" said Dizzy raising the sub
"Now where'd it go, it was right there!" asked Jace.
"Keep those pods on a swivel Delta. We're not out of this yet!" said Locke.
"There it is!" said Anya.
"Come on! We gotta shake that thing!" said Marcus opening fire on the leviathan.
The leviathan bumps into the sub.
"Damn that nearly breached the hull!" said Jace.
"Keep it away from the sub! Shoot it in the face!" said Marcus.
"Delta, we got a mine field up ahead!" said Chief.
"God help us! We got the whole damn Navy down here!" said Dizzy.
"It's not gonna give up easily!" said Anya
"Mines! Look out for the mines!" said Jace
"Come on, hold it off! Shoot it!" shouts Marcus
"It's right on us!" said Anya.
"Keep firin' then! Keep it off our ass!" said Dizzy.
"Come on, Diz! It's gonna take more than this to kill it!" adds Sam
"Keep goin', we can't stop!" shouts Marcus.
"Steer for the mines Diz! We can give this bastard a real headache!" suggested Sam.
"Okay, but clear the mines out of the damn way first! Shoot 'em!" said Dizzy.
Delta began setting off mines ahead of their path to safely maneuver through the minefield.
"Whoa! That was too close!" said Jace.
"Come on! Blow 'em before they sink us!" said Marcus.
"The leviathan's still on our tail Dizzy!" said Anya
"Keep shootin'! Cause if that thin don't get us, the mines will!" said Dizzy.
Marcus then sees some arches as a passage way to lose the leviathan.
"Dizzy, try for those arches! It won't be able to follow us through there!"
"Okay...better hope it ain't a dead end" said Dizzy.
"We just need to hold it off while we work out how we kill it!" said Marcus.
The leviathan tried desperate to eat at the sub, leaving it's mouth vulnerable.
"Aim for its mouth! Shoot it!" shouts Marcus.
"This tunnel ain't your size asshole!" said Jace.
The leviathan remained relentless.
"Ah shit! It's not gonna give up is it? Kill it! Aim for the mouth" said Sam.
"Give it all you got!" adds Marcus.
"You want some more bitch? Huh? You picked the wrong day to mess with me!" said Jace.
"Okay Dizzy, let's go!" said Marcus.
"We can't outrun it Marcus! said Dizzy.
The leviathan then gets stuck between the rocks.
"Ha ha it's stuck! Look at it! See ya!" said Jace.
"Whoo! Diz, we made it!" said Sam with a sigh of relief.
"I'm getting too old for this" said Dizzy.
"Nice work Delta!" said Chief.
The leviathan uses it's tendrils to pull the sub towards its mouth.
"It's got us! That son of a bitch is pullin' us by the tail!" said Dizzy.
"Shoot it in the mouth!" said Marcus.
"Just get the tentacle!" siad Dizzy.
"It's crushing the hull!" adds Anya.
"It's not gonna let go Marcus!" said Jace.
Marcus then shoots at the tentacle getting the sub free.
"Dizzy! Go! Go!" he said.
Falling debris then lands on the leviathan, killing it once and for all.
"Whoo, baby! Damn! For a minute there I thought we were gonna end up like the rest of them shipwrecks!" said Dizzy.
"Not today" said Chief.
"Shit, you will never catch me in one of these again. You hear me?" asked Jace.
"Hey dead ahead! Looks like we've got out escort back." said Anya.
"Come on, let's kill those before they come back and sink us"
"Hold your fire." ordered Marcus.
"Where'd they go? Looks like they were swept away by the current." said Anya.
"I can hear something like a motor or a waterfall." said Sam.
"Keep us steady Dizzy, We could be next if not careful." said Locke.
"Marcus, the current's gettin' a lot stronger. I can feel it in the controls" said Dizzy.
The curretn finally pulls in the sub.
"Sorry Marcus, I've lost her. Hang on!" said Dizzy,
"WHOOOOOOAAAAA" shouts everyone.
"Oh shit on a stick! We got mines in here with us!" said Dizzy.
"Everyone target the mines! Keep 'em away from the sub!" ordered Marcus.
"I'm...gonna puke!" said Jace.
"Dizzy get us out of here!" said Anya.
"I'm trying ma'am, she won't listen" said Dizzy trying to regain controls.
"Look out!" shouts Anya.
The team held out long enough to make it through the current in one piece.
"We're clear." said Kelly.
"Whoo-wee! Okay! Marcus, I think we're through!" said Dizzy
"Nice job Dizzy. Thanks" said Marcus.
"I'm glad that's over" said Anya.
"You and me both" said Tanaka.
"Stand by! I see something" said Marcus.
"Looks like anti air torpeados." said Locke.
"Which means we're getting closer to Azura" adds Chief.
"Delta! Open fire on those torpedos!" said Locke.
"You heard the man, take 'em out!" said Marcus.
"Take out those turrets or this is the end of us" said Kelly.
"Got it! How many more?" asked Sam.
"I'm identifying multiple torpedo turrets in the area. Take them out before we can advance safely!" Orders Chief.
The team destroyed all the turrets in the are.
"That's the last of 'em. Are there any more?" asked Sam.
"Looks like we're done here!" said Marcus.
"Okay, keep your eyes open. I'm moving on!" said Dizzy.
As they pushed forward, they see a massive gate.
"Well that looks like the front door!" said Dizzy.
"Then it looks like we'll have to knock hard. Come on. Blast those doors open." said Marcus.
"Too late to wipe our feet?" asked Kelly.
"Keep an eye out! They'll be more defenses" said Anya.
"Get ready to take 'em out!" said Marcus.
"Okay, everybody concentrate real hard. I ain't got much room in here to dodge torpedos" said Dizzy.
"Incoming torpedos!" said Chief.
"Fire!" shouts Marcus.
Delta fired on the barrage of incoming torpedos.
"Marcus, incoming turrets!" said Chief.
"I see 'em. Everyone take them out, we're almost there!" he said.
Marcus and Delta destroyed the last of the defense turrets as they arrived at their destination.
"That's it. We're in. Welcome to Azura!"
"Yeah Marcus, your dad's gonna be real happy to see ya. Real happy." said Dizzy.
"Yeah, if he's still alive" adds Marcus.
"This is it Spartans, once we shut down the Maelstrom, we regroup with the others and Infinity, we activate the weapon, and we all go home" said Chief.
