I suddenly remembered I forgot a scene and start with so we went back in time a few days before continuing.
Chapter 64 Mirror, Veela and Choosing the Champions
23rd October 1994, Great Hall, Hogwarts
It is dinner time. Harry is looking for Hedwig as Andi told him he would get it this evening or early tomorrow morning before breakfast. Harry immediately spots Hedwig with a package. Hedwig flies immediately over to him. She lands so her owner can take the package. Harry grabs the package but doesn't open it yet. He first gives Hedwig a scratch and thanks her for bringing him the package. He had some owl treats for the change Hedwig would come. He gave them to her and after she had some treats she gently gave him an affectionate nip on his finger before pushing her head against Harry for a minute before she decided to go to the Owlery to rest, not that she really needed it, but she should let her owner have his dinner.
23rd October 1994, Classroom, Ravenclaw Tower
It is nearing curfew and Harry still hasn't opened the package. He could have but Ron was close most of the time and he got a bad feeling of the way Ron was trying to stay close to him. Also, he knew that the moment he opened it Hermione, Ginny, Katie and Luna wanted to know everything unless Luna already knew.
In the room with the girls, he opens the package. At first, there is a letter. He reads the letter out loud.
Dear Harry,
I hope you are doing well. As promised, I have the potions ready. I am sure Hedwig will make sure you get it. You have enough potions for the two months you need to take it. You need to take it before breakfast and if that isn't possible you should do it no later than lunch even during lunch it is no problem.
Don't forget that you need to eat a lot for the potions to work and not use your magic to work as that can be dangerous. If you need any advice Professor McGonagall and Madam Pomfrey will be able to help you or let me know if they think I should know or could help you.
It also means if you get in trouble, I will know and don't only mean trouble I also mean detention for something Padfoot made you do or give you the idea.
I am sure some of your friends probably read it with you or you let it read them after you. So I ask …. Hermione if I remember, to make sure Harry doesn't get in trouble and stop him from getting in detention, especially for a prank. His father and godfather not to mention Remus Lupin were pranksters which got them a lot of detention. Harry's mother was not happy with his father. While you are not a couple I expect that you stop Harry from doing anything that his father, godfather or Remus Lupin will do that would give Harry detention.
I mentioned a couple of Harry's mother didn't have much luck with Harry's father maybe as they weren't good friends at the beginning of Hogwarts while you are with Harry. Also Lily only managed to stop James a little bit when they were a couple using her …. let's say her good looks and female …. body if you get my meaning not you should do that... at least not yet.
Also, don't let Padfoot corrupt Harry. Padfoot says he can do it as long as he doesn't get caught but most of the time Harry's father, Padfoot and Remus did sometimes with others that helped them did get caught. I know Professor McGonagall gave them more often than not detention.

Harry smiles although a bit embarrassed. He really is happy he knows Andi. Sirius was probably right that Andi, Nymfie and Ted saw him a lot before Voldemort attacked him as he feels really at ease with her which he doesn't have with a lot of other adults especially not this soon. He only met her once…. well the only one that he remembers.
Harry opens the package and immediately notices that there are a lot of potions in the package. He wonders when he sees a smaller package next to potions. He also sees a letter and thinks it is Sirius's handwriting.
He opens the letter and reads it but does not say it out loud.
Dear pup/ prongselet,
Be alone (or only with those you completely trust) tonight at midnight. I advise you to have the gift that is in the package with you at that time but also at all times.
Uncle Padfoot
Harry wonders what Sirius gave him. He opens the package and looks a bit surprised at a nice mirror. He likes that under the mirror is the handle it a small foal. It is beautiful like it is made by a craftsman maybe it is even goblin-made.
As he doesn't read the letter out loud the moment he puts the letter to the side Hermione grabs it to read it. As Harry was opening the package from Sirius he didn't even notice Hermione grabbing the letter and reading it before she passed it along. Everyone read the letter except Luna who doesn't need to when she says in her dreamy voice "It is a shame I can't be present, but the Nargles already told me what will happen. I am happy for Harry and it should protect Harry from Wrackspurts especially infestations although we also help him protect from infestations."
Neville wasn't handed the letter but knows of Sirius's innocence and thought to himself 'I wonder if Grandmother knows about Sirius's innocence. She never mentioned it. I fully believe Harry not only as an Ally but also as a good friend. I think I need to tell Grandmother. I dare not to hope but maybe Sirius Black can in some way help my parents, after all, he is the cousin of ….. her.'
Hermione says "Harry meet us in the common room 15 minutes before midnight. Luna, we will tell you tomorrow what has happened …. to see if the Nargles were right if you want."
Luna says dreamily "I like that, Hermione, if you don't mind Harry."
Harry wants to refuse them being with him at midnight and Hermione telling Luna about it but he indeed trusts Hermione with his life. Ginny, Luna, Katie and Neville are soon approaching and have already reached if not surpassed Ron which he also didn't mind.
Harry says "I guess it is fine, but it is better if no one else besides you five knows about it, not even Ron. Ron talks without thinking most of the time and I don't want to endanger Padfoot, Andi, Dora and Moony."
They all understand and even Ginny as she knows Ron nowadays talks too much without thinking. She is also not that happy with him as again Ron ignores her most of the time.
Luna asks "Neville, if you don't mind could please step outside and wait for us to join you."
Neville doesn't know why but as Harry doesn't seem to worry he nods and says "Sure, I don't mind. Don't take too long curfew is fast approaching."
As soon as Neville leaves the room Luna is in front of Harry and hugs him. Even when she stands on the tip of her toes she barely reaches his shoulder and if she puts her head on his chest with would be around his heart. She would hear his heartbeat. Harry bends down a bit so Luna can kiss his cheek before another hug. Ginny only a few inches taller than Luna also need Harry to bend down. Katie and Hermione both can reach his cheek when they stand on the tip of their toes although barely.
A little over 5 minutes later they leave the room first bringing Luna to the Ravenclaw Common Room before going to Gryffindor Tower and the Gryffindor Common Room and soon to bed.
23rd October 1994, Gryffindor Common Room, Hogwarts
About two and half hours after going to bed Harry, Hermione and Ginny are in the common room. Katie had been to bed two hours ago. It seems none of them has been able to sleep.
Nobody says anything. When it is a few minutes before midnight Harry takes out the mirror. He doesn't know why he should have it with him. Harry had asked Neville to come but Neville declined. Harry accepted although he did say he trusted him which happily surprised Neville. Neville said he trusted Harry to and always will but he was tired and wanted to sleep knowing everything would be alright especially as Harry's girls will be with Harry except Luna.
Also, Neville didn't want to intrude and told Harry that although it was mostly as Neville also didn't want someone to intrude on the time with his parents even if they didn't remember him. He will at some point allow other people besides himself and his grandmother and Harry will surely be one of the first ones but now is not the time.
The moment the clock strikes midnight Harry grabs the mirror. He notices that the mirror starts to vibrate and warm up. He raises the mirror to his face and sees his reflection for a second. Immediately the mirror stops vibrating and stops warming up. Harry almost drops the mirror when his reflection turns into Sirius's face.
Sirius smiles and says "Good to see you, pup."
Harry looks confused before asking "How?"
Sirius smiles and says "It is something your father, Moony and I developed. Of course, the rat was too stupid to help. He also never got one."
Before Harry can ask more Hermione appears behind him. Sirius notice and says "Well, good to also see you again Hermione."
Hermione says "Sirius, I must you look much better than last June. I guess Harry's mediwitch which is called Andi also helps you and she needed to say you said hi."
Sirius smiles and thinks 'She is observant just like Lily if not more so.'
Sirius says "Yes, and there is more but that is not place to tell. You should ask Harry, but only if he wants to talk about it. Now are there more I need to know off?"
Hermione says "Yes. Ginny and Katie stand beside me."
Sirius's smile can only grow as he sees a redhead although it doesn't remind him of Lily as Lily had another shade of red. Sirius thinks of Potter and their redheads no matter the shade. He can barely contain his smile when the other girls with a slightly darker complexion with Black Hair. He must say that the Black Hair almost look like his family threat and a lot like Harry's grandmother's hair, Dorea Potter-Black, but just slightly different. Almost a shade darker.
Hermione says "This is Ginny Weasley" when she points to the redhead before she points to the other witch and says "And this is Katie Bell."
Sirius almost wants to ask where the fourth one is but Harry probably still doesn't know Hermione wrote to him.
Hermione seems to see the unasked question and says "Normally there is also a fourth girl, Luna Lovegood, but she is a Ravenclaw and we aren't allowed to invite members of other houses and she wouldn't have a place to sleep….. and what Katie proposed wasn't a good idea."
Sirius can't help himself and asks "What did she propose?"
Hermione blushes and says "We let her borrow one of our beds to her and the other will go sleep with Harry. She went even as far as to give up her own bed. Honestly, I think she could lie in bed with Ginny, but then Ginny wouldn't mind giving up her bed and sleeping in Harry's bed with Harry."
Sirius can't contain his laugh when Harry's mouth falls open. Sirius almost drops his own mirror as he sees Katie and Ginny give a wink to Harry that he can see.
Hermione glares at Sirius and says "It isn't funny. Also, most of the time Neville is with us but he was tired and didn't want to intrude according to Harry."
Sirius decides to throw Harry a bone as he says "That doesn't matter he clearly trusts you. Now, Harry, I think you would like to know why I sent you this mirror?"
Harry says "To talk, I guess."
Sirius says "Yes, but there is more. If you look closely under the mirror you see a beautiful carved foal, am I correct?"
Harry nods. Sirius continues "This mirror was made slightly after you were born especially when you look so much like James. Your mother agreed quite easily and most of the time it was much harder to convince her if she had another opinion. This mirror was supposed to be given to you the summer before you would go to Hogwarts so you could speak to your father, your mother, Moony and me as your father, Moony and I have our own mirror."
"Your father has a stag and doe under his mirror after he married your mother. Moony has a full moon with his small version of his normal face and I have, of course, the Grim under my mirror."
"I imagine you felt the mirror vibrate and warm up right before you saw me right?"
Harry nods and says "I did feel that."
Sirius smiles before saying "That is the sign someone tries to contact you. At this time it can only be me or Moony. I think about making one for Andi and Dora but we need to find our notes as we don't have your father here to do his part of the spells, runes and charms. We are sure he wrote down what he did as we all did, but I don't know where he would have left it."
"Anyway, all you have to do is call our marauder name and when the mirror recognizes your magic it will activate. There is a safety measure that will make the other unrecognizable in certain situations, but clearly, that isn't needed now. There is also a way for you to make yourself unrecognizable from this side and make me unrecognizable from your side."
Sirius's smile gets larger and says "With Andi's examination we managed to get some of your magic to make sure the mirror responds to your magic, Prongselet."
Harry immediately says "That is possible with a mediwitch examine you?"
Sirius says "When a Healer does it, yes, although very illegal and it is only barely legal if you accept or in this case Regent Potter and she did. We only used it for the mirror to make sure it worked as we weren't sure if it would still respond to your magic from when you were a baby. I guess you also now know that Prongselet is the name we use to call you with the mirror. The other actions and how to do it I will tell you when I think it is needed. Now Pup, I loved talking to you but I got an angry Andi's looking at me for keeping you up this long."
"I love you Pup as does everyone here. Good night and don't forget to prank everyone. AUW Andi."
With that the mirror disconnected and showed Harry's reflection again. Hermione immediately hugs Harry and says "I am so happy you can talk to Sirius whenever you want to as to Professor Lupin. I do want to meet this Andi, Ted and Dora though."
Before he can respond Ginny and Katie join the hug much to Harry's surprise and Harry decides not to say anything until almost 10 minutes later he asks if they could let go so they can all go to bed as tomorrow would be Monday and another week of classes starts.
30th October 1994, Above the Channel, France/England
She can't help herself. She has been waiting for this day. She doesn't remember much of that day. She remembers the Quidditch World Cup final and the start of the attack, however, the moment they were seen and attacked while she tried to protect her younger sister she can't remember which she hates but also happy as she is sure it wasn't pretty.
However, the moment someone intervened she thanked Merlin (as she was in Britain). She cannot forget the saviour of her and her sister. She remembers only two things. The glowing green eyes and while she doesn't remember his voice she is almost completely certain the wizard was English. She doesn't know if he was still a student.
The chance is small as why would a student fight those evil and dark wizards? The Aurors should do that not a student. She hopes to somehow meet that wizard. He at least deserves her thanks. Secretly she hopes that she can find him very soon as he fights the Death Eaters to save her and her sister and not to take them as his own like the Death Eaters wanted…. or at least she hopes so. She is certain adult wizards will be present during the tasks and maybe more throughout the year.
She knows that the wizard has not been found or at least the Ministry of Magic of Britain hasn't announced it. She knows Madam Bones has an idea her father told her that much although her father told her Madam Bones wouldn't disclose her suspicions at this time. She wasn't happy that she wouldn't know, but her own Veela instincts would surely find him although it may take some time. As will stay at Hogwarts for 7 months she is sure within that time she will find him if he is around or visits Hogwarts (often).
She stayed in her dorm for almost the whole trip until everyone was called to the front of the carriage. Madam Maxime, the headmistress, announces to all of them that they will soon start to land as they are rapidly approaching Hogwarts.
30th October 1994, The Carriage of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, Scotland
It is beyond her why anyone would build the school in the most northern point of Scotland on the mainland of Great Britain. She is excited about the castle though despite finding her mate. The chariot is pulled by Abraxans (large-winged horses). She is happy that the many spells, charms and runes on the chariot make them always feel comfortable when they fly no matter the weather even if it looks like the chariot is moving a lot which would make everything fall in a normal chariot you won't feel any of it in the chariot although you may feel when the Abraxans make the chariot dive or climb but not enough to make anything fall or change places you don't even need to adjust your own stance.
She like everyone else feels that the chariot gently lands and she is also apprehensive as she will probably be the first year after her first transformation all over again. One night from a small girl to an almost 17-year-old-looking girl while she was only thirteen. Veela has two transformations although there have been talks about a third transformation as that hasn't happened for centuries which makes many Veela see it as nothing more than a myth.
The first transformation happens around thirteen and changes the Veela's from a small girl into a beautiful 17-year-old girl physically. The second transformation is usually between 17 and 20. The Veela changes again into a beautiful mature woman in her early twenties which she will look for many decades with only small changes like if she gave birth she will look a bit different after she gave birth although still beautiful and is not like a goddess on earth.
She hopes many boys except her mate have a girlfriend they really love because her Allure will have a lesser effect on wizards who really and completely (unconditionally) love their girlfriend/ fiancée or wife. There are only a very few males who should be able to resist her Allure but she never met one well except her father as (blood) relatives are somehow not affected by the Allure of their family members but not resist against other Veela's if they can't resist the Allure although most mates have developed a resistance against the Allure as they really love their mate.
She doesn't want to tell herself but if her mate has a girlfriend/fiancé or wife she needs to get her mate no matter what even if she needs to break them up or seduce her mate, she can't live without him. Veelas get only one mate even if the mate dies and not only that they are also very protective of their mate which is close to possessive namely against other witches especially those who are romantically interested in their mate even those who will only lust are a danger. She knows she is good-looking like all Veela but she is especially beautiful which strengthens her Allure.
She lines up at the back when Madam Maxime announce that they will exit the chariot in an orderly fashion as they represent the great Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.
30th October 1994, Hogwarts
As soon as they exit the carriage all of them feel the bitter cold as where they come from it is much better weather and their 'thin' blue uniform isn't for the cold of (Northern) Scotland.
She feels most of the eyes especially all boys and a big part of the girls immediately drawn to her when she exits the carriage at last. She shuddered not only from the cold but also from all the stares as she, because of her Veela heritage and Veela powers, knew that a lot of those had disgusting and humiliating thoughts about her.
Fortunately, almost immediately after her headmistress had greeted the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Dumbledore, they were let inside. Right before they walk inside she feels that many eyes are still following her. She steps inside Hogwarts and needs to immediately use her willpower to keep standing as all the magic of Hogwarts assaults her senses especially her Veela senses she does manage to notice none of the other girls has her problem or at least not as bad as her. Beauxbatons doesn't have all the magic Hogwarts have.
She is surprised as after she manages to keep her senses and Veela's senses from being overloaded by the magic assault she notices the smell of her mate. All the magic that assaulted her senses smelled like him, the muscular scent she smelled on Susan Bones during the Quidditch World Cup and the muscular scent she smelled on the grounds before the attack. She was closing in slowly when the attack happened. When she and her little sister were separated from the Auror detail she tried to rush her and her sister to the scent but before they could reach it they were attacked. Secretly she hopes the wizard that saved her and her sister is her mate but she knows that is wishful thinking as that is even a miracle in fairy tales.
Meanwhile, as soon as the door closes someone screams "Look at the Black Lake."
Everyone looks to where that person pointed and they see what looks like some wood has drifted into the lake but the straight line it is heading it couldn't be just some wood in the shape of a crow's nest from a ship.
It becomes clear when suddenly although slowly and magnificently a ship rose out of the water, gleaming in the last sunlight of the day. It had a strangely skeletal look about it, as though it were a resurrected wreck, and the dim, misty lights shimmering at its portholes looked like ghostly eyes. Finally, with a great sloshing noise, the ship emerged entirely, bobbing on the turbulent water, and began to glide toward the bank.
They can see people disembarking the ship. It takes almost 10 minutes before they enter the courtyard and Dumbledore greets the Headmaster from Durmstrang Institute. Dumbledore mentioned that Beauxbatons had already arrived and that they should enter the castle immediately as dinner would start soon.
As soon as all the Durmstrang students have walked inside Dumbledore walks inside. Professor McGonagall says "We will head immediately into the Great Hall for dinner. Follow me."
Professor McGonagall walks inside and soon everyone follows. Hogwarts students don't do as disciplined as the other schools who follow their Headmaster or Headmistress in two lines inside.
30th October 1994, Great Hall, Hogwarts
It takes only a few minutes before everyone except the students of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang are in the Great Hall. Most of the students wonder where they are when Dumbledore stand up and slowly all the students start to look at him as he walks to his stand.
When all the students stop talking and look at him he says while he is at his stand with the owl's wings spread "As I said at the beginning Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event. The Tri-Wizard tournament. Now for those of you who forgot the Tri-Wizard tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contests. From each school, a single contestant is selected to compete."
"Now let me be clear, if chosen you stand alone. And trust me when I say these contests are not for the faint-hearted, but more of that later. For now please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and their headmistress Madam Maxime."
A group of girls dressed in blue dance up the aisle and release butterflies into the air when they reach the front of the Great Hall. They bow every couple of steps which was part of their dance until halfway and then run forward. When they reach the front of the Great Hall they realize butterflies everyone applauds. A big woman walks passed them when Seamus whispers loudly enough for Ron and Harry to hear "Blimey, that's one big woman."
Harry notices that almost all the boys clap with a few even standing like Ron and quite a bit of girls too but most of the girls look at the Beauxbatons ladies with mostly hatred. Harry sees Hermione and Ginny do too while Katie is one of the girls enthusiastically applauding. After a few seconds, Harry sees that Ginny while filled with hatred claps politely although Hermione does not.
Suddenly he felt his eyes drawn to the girl who was at the end of the group of girls and was the last to finish her dance and bows with the other girl doing gymnastics. Harry feels something from that girl especially when she smiles.
Harry feels that Hermione and Ginny are not happy. Harry looks away from the ladies of Beauxbatons and gives Hermione and Ginny a big smile. Harry sees that they both look at him and that their hatred seems to have vanished and gives him one of the biggest smiles he has ever seen on them. He has only seen them with a bigger smile after the night kiss and during the Quidditch World Cup. Harry suddenly thinks 'I also saw them that happy after Gryffindor wins a Quidditch match.'
Harry still wants to look back at the girl and they both notice. Hermione asks "Harry?"
The moment Harry hears his name from Hermione almost immediately followed by Ginny saying his name any urge to look at the girl at the front vanishes. He simply asks "Yes?" while he looks at them.
They smile but don't say anything. Harry asks "Is something wrong?"
They both shake their head while they wonder why they said Harry's name almost instinctively. They hate all the girls from Beauxbatons but especially that last girl which shocks Hermione the most as she never hated girls for apparently no reason although she feels possessive over Harry suddenly a lot more. Something inside Ginny knows she should hate the girl and she has every right to do so. She doesn't know the reason, but she trusts herself and knows that if she thinks the reason is good even if she doesn't know right now, the reason is good. Ginny hopes she soon knows why as she doesn't like it. Ginny knows that she can talk to Luna as Luna mostly knows more than most.
As soon as Dumbledore greeted Madam Maxime with a kiss on her hand and offered them a place at one of the tables. Madam Maxime tells in French the girls something and the girls give a curtsy bow before they sit at the Ravenclaw table while Madam Maxime is offered a place at the teacher's table.
After escorting Madam Maxime to her seat he rushes back to the front next to his stand and says "And now our friends from the north. Please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang and their Headmaster Igor Karkaroff."
A series of older boys walk up the aisle brandishing bo staffs, twirling them around and periodically stabbing them into the ground with a spark effect. At last, the Headmaster steps in with the last student and a surprise to many students it is the world-renowned seeker of Bulgaria, Viktor Krum, although he doesn't seem to like this on the other hand, he never looks happy, he always looks grumpy. Although at this moment he looks more grumpy than usual.
Ron says incredibly "Blimey it's him, Viktor Krum!"
Hermione is the first one to point out the fact that Krum looks grumpier than usual which Ginny immediately agrees before she says to those around them "I think Ron is in love."
They look at Ron and it looks like he is even looking more at Krum than any one of the Beauxbatons girls whom he stared at all the time when they entered. Even when some of the Durmstrang students breathe fire which draws everyone's attention it doesn't grab Ron's attention who just keeps staring at Krum. He keeps watching Krum although the walk between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff table which is the middle path to the front of the Great Hall.
Everyone sees that Dumbledore and Karkaroff embrace each other. They whisper something before Dumbledore offers Karkaroff the other place next to his own seat at the teacher's table. Almost like it was already decided before they arrived the Durmstang students take a seat at the Slytherin table.
Dumbledore keeps standing. When Karkaroff and the Durmstrang have taken their place Dumbledore says "Now that our guest for the remainder of the years has arrived we can eat. To honour our guests we have a feast and there will be dishes from France and Northern and Eastern Europe for everyone to enjoy. Now let's start the feast."
The moment Dumbledore take a seat in his chair all the tables get filled with food from many different countries besides the British dishes.
At the start of dinner Madam Maxime says to Dumbledore "Professor Dumbly-dorr, my horses have travelled a long way. They will need attending to."
Dumbledore says "Not to worry Madame Maxime, our gamekeeper Hagrid's more than capable of seeing to them."
Dumbledore motioned his hand to Hagrid. Madame Maxime looks and says "But you know Monsieur Hagrid, they drink only single malt whiskey. They also need a force hand for their handling."
Hagrid stabbed his fork into the hand of Professor Flitwick when Madam Maxime addressed him. Professor Flitwick hissed in pain before he managed to get Hagrid's attention and Hagrid withdrew his fork.
Professor Flitwick hotly with a little bit of pain and anger but no real hate says "You idiot!"
Hagrid says "O' course. I will take good care o' your horses... the Abraxans. Sorry, Professor Flitwick."
Professor Flitwick sighs and says "It is Filius, Hagrid, and it is fine. I am not hurt that much. There isn't even blood. Also, I am sure Pompey can remove the marks in less than a second if it is needed."
At Ravenclaw's table, the girl looks at the French dishes and they look good. They look and smell just like at home and at Beauxbatons. She sees her favourite¸ Bouillabaisse. She asks others from her school to hand it to her. The other girls don't like her and before it reaches her the bowl is empty. The others around the table are soon empty too. It is all a pity attempt to hurt her without really hurting her physically, but it shows they hate her as they believe Veelas are nothing more than boyfriend stealers and homewreckers. They all believe she, Fleur Isabelle Delacour, is a boyfriend stealer and homewrecker
There is only one girl in her year who accepts her Veela ancestry and doesn't hold against her…. at least not anymore, her best friend, Stéphanie. Maybe because Fleur saved her once from an unfaithful boyfriend and once from a dangerous boyfriend. They hadn't been friends until Fleur helped her. Stéphanie was even cruel before like the other girls were then and now. Fleur hoped with Stéphanie others start to be nicer or at least not as bad as before but nothing changed. They even became crueller. She loves that Stéphanie didn't let her be scared away by the behaviour of the other year towards Fleur.
It is weird that despite Stéphanie's best friendship with Fleur she isn't an outcast like Fleur is. Fleur is almost sure it is because if she tries something to seduce one of their boyfriends she would tell Stéphanie and she will tell them, not that Fleur will ever do that but that is only because she knows none of their boyfriends is her mate. Her mate is here in Britain and she will do anything to get him even if she needs to steal or seduce him. Veelas have only one mate and she is lucky that he is close especially as she is now in the country she is sure he is from.
Fleur sighs deeply and looks around for another bowl. Stéphanie doesn't like Bouillabaisse and tells Fleur that there is one at the table to the wall. Fleur spots the untouched bowl on the table from Gryffindor. She studied Hogwarts and knows about the four houses and it is almost sure it is the table of House Gryffindor. When she looks at the ceiling she is sure as from the ceiling, is charmed to show the weather outside, banners show red and gold with a lion which is the colour and symbol of Gryffindor.
She stands up to walk to the table, She feels many eyes follow her again, all of them are staring including some of House Gryffindor. She sees that the girls who notice her look with hatred in their eyes but that is nothing new. She sees almost everyone at her school and from many witches when she is outside in the magical world in the muggle world it is even worse as men approach her to impress and when she isn't impressed, ignores them or doesn't want to talk to them they become violent.
As a Veela that didn't have her second transformation yet she has trouble controlling her fireballs or enlarging her nails. Until her second transformation or finding her mate as that should help her control as her magic wouldn't search for her mate anymore. Also having a mate will satisfy her Veela and her witch with most of the time feeling at ease, happy and safe. She should not use her powers if possible because of the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy.
The women are even worse as the muggle women start shouting at her and call her a Scarlett woman, whore, sluts and other bad words. Sometimes even right in her face especially as in the muggle world, she cannot be surrounded by Aurors. Although after her first transformation, she rarely goes into the muggle world on her own anymore.
She decides to ask a boy for the Bouillabaisse. Right before she touches him she is ready for a glaze stare or even worse a blank stare at her probably even drooling. She taps his shoulder to get his attention and is surprised the moment she touches his she feels a wonderful heat and her Veela almost purrs. She decides it is just as this is the first male that isn't family she has touched for a long as her Veela is still a sexual creature.
The boy turns around and Fleur is even more surprised when his eyes don't turn glazed, blank or start to drool. He rather acts normal and asks what he can do for her.
She asks "Can I 'ave ze Bouillabaisse?"
The boy asks "Hermione, what is the Bouillabaisse?"
The bushy-haired girl looks mad at her before pointing to a dish. The boy asks the same girl "Is it good?"
The girl says "I think it is. I have eaten it before when I was in France. I was considering taking it."
The boy says "Then take some."
Fleur is surprised that the boy asks that girl to take some and not give it to her like she asked while normally every male would do whatever she asks not counting the muggle muggles that would not leave her alone even if she asked.
The girl named Hermione happily takes some before giving it to the boy. The boy takes a bit and Fleur looks unhappy as she is afraid they would also empty the bowl to hurt her. The boy asked two other girls named Ginny and Katie and one boy named Neville if they wanted something. To her surprise, Neville seems nervous but isn't staring at her although he seems very hard not to. They decide to take a little bit. The boy also puts on big spoon of Bouillabaisse on the plate of a boy who keeps staring and drooling at her.
She is surprised when the boy looks at her and says "Here you go. I hope you don't mind us taking some and I hope it is enough for you."
It almost sounds like a dismissal as he turns around to continue eating and talking to the people around him. She looks in the bowl and sees there is quite a lot left more than enough for her despite the bushy-haired girl and the boy himself taking quite a lot on their plate although she does notice that the boy has quite a lot of British dishes in his plate and the girl has a reasonable amount on her plate of British dishes.
She sees that the girls the boy talked to give her a smug smile and Fleur knows why. They are more than happy that their friend wasn't affected by her Allure also she isn't sure if the witches know about her Allure and that is the reason most people stare also she isn't stupid, she knows she is good-looking, better looking than many other females no matter the age and not just because she is a Veela. She wonders if the girls know she is a Veela, if they didn't Fleur knows it will not take long especially if they were at the Quidditch World Cup. She also is told that she is a beautiful girl not because she is a Veela means that her Allure is stronger than most of Veela's probably even matching full-blood Veela's like her grandmother.
She walks back and takes her seat again. She asks the closest Ravenclaw that is around her age "Who is zat?"
The girls look where Fleur points and say "That is Harry Potter, The-Boy-Who-Lived and Gryffindor Seeker. He is really good. They say that the girl across from him, Hermione Granger, is his girlfriend but nobody ever saw them snog or go on a date at least not alone. Mostly the ginger is with them or the boy near him …. Ronald and Neville if I remember correctly."
"Many girls are interested in Harry Potter, but that girl Hermione Granger and the ginger girl Ginny who is the younger sister of Ronald keeps most girls away from Harry. They can be quite scary from what I heard. Nobody wants to cross them not even seventh years while they are only fourth year and Ginny is even a third year from what I heard."
Fleur says "Zank you" before taking almost all of the Bouillabaisse that is left in the bowl.
Fleur isn't romantically interested in Harry like the girl says many are but she is interested as he doesn't seem to be affected by her Allure which is something all Veelas look for in a mate, but he is just a little boy nothing more. He is not the one that she is looking for, that is certain she tells herself. Even though he is The-Boy-Who-Lived he could have not protected her and her sister, her mate that saved her almost like in a fairy tale. She must admit there is something about Harry Potter but she just couldn't find what that is.
After dinner, Dumbledore stands up and walks around the table and walks to his stand. Students were talking but stopped when Dumbledore said without raising his voice or using Sonorus " Your attention, please! I would like to say a few words. Eternal glory is what awaits the student who wins the Tri-wizard Tournament. But to do this that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks."
Harry hears many people whispering. He sees a little bit further down the table the twins, Fred and George, with large mischievous smiles on their faces. He knows that they will enter.
Dumbledore soon continued "For this reason, the ministry has seen fit to impose a new rule. To explain all this we have the head of the department of international magic cooperation Director Bartemius Crouch."
Bartemius Crouch walks to the stand from a door to the side. He walks towards the stand but doesn't walk behind it. He looks to the Great Hall and says with a loud voice "After much deliberation, the ministry has concluded that for their own safety, no student under the age of seventeen shall be allowed to put forth their name for the tri-wizard tournament."
The Great Hall erupts with loud voices of people refusing. Mr. Crouch raises his voice just enough so everyone hears "This decision is final."
The Great Hall erupts even more with many booing. Harry notices that Beauxbatons and Durmstrang look confused at the Hogwarts students. He immediately knows that they knew which is probably why they only took of-age students.
Harry hears one of the Weasley twins shout "That's rubbish! You don't know what you're doing!"
Dumbledore uses his wand to make a cannon shot before he shouts "Silence!"
During the shouting, Mr. Filch pushed a large box from the door Mr. Crouch came from. Dumbledore casts magic over a box which melds into a goblet containing a blue flame. The sight of the goblet makes everyone quiet.
Dumbledore says "The Goblet of Fire. Anyone wishing to submit themselves for the tournament merely writes their name upon a piece of parchment and throws it in the flame before this hour on tomorrow night. Do not do so lightly, if chosen there's no turning back. As from this moment, the Tri-wizard Tournament has begun."
30th October 1994, Hogwarts
After dinner, every House went to their Common Room. Beauxbatons and Durmstrang went back to respectively the carriage and the ship.
30th October 1994, Gryffindor Tower, Hogwarts
It is late at night and Harry is annoyed after he comes back with Hermione, Ginny and Katie after bringing Luna back to Ravenclaw Common Room. Ron has been going on and on about how great it would be to be able to compete.
The first thing Ron said after coming back from dinner was "Harry¸ Eternal glory, be brilliant wouldn't it? In three years from now, we'll be old enough to be chosen."
Harry said the complete truth "Yeah well rather you than me. I am happy to just watch and cheer on the Hogwarts champion. Maybe Angelina will become Hogwarts Champion, her birthday was almost two weeks ago. I sent her a Quidditch book from the World Cup I bought. Actually, I got Alicia and Katie one too but their Birthday is later, not that Katie could compete as she is only a fifth year. Angelina and Alicia are in their sixth year with Angelina already being 17."
Ron says "Everyone better than a Slytherin. You will tell me if you could enter right?"
Harry says "I don't want to compete so why would I even try or find a way?"
Ron asks "But if you will you will tell me right?"
Harry says "Sure, Ron, but like I said I don't want to compete not now or even when I am of age."
31st October 1994, Chamber of the Goblet of Fire, Hogwarts
Many students of Hogwarts are in the room with the Goblet of Fire. Older students are placing their names into the flame and others are applauding, Cedric is one of them.
Cedric gives a smile at Harry who is in the room sitting next to Hermione who is reading a book. They almost look like a couple which is one of the reasons Hermione sits in the room instead of in the library and enjoying it. She just wants to rest against Harry as he holds her while she is reading like she did with Ginny at the Burrow, but Ginny really needs to do her homework and is in the library. Hermione took a book from the library to read for fun, not for homework.
The other reason is to keep her promise to herself and her parents to not leave Harry alone on the 31st of October. Ginny, Luna and Katie wanted to help but Ginny and Luna got homework due tomorrow. Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick and Professor Vector gave homework but gave enough time remembering that today is the sorting while it is due tomorrow. Professor Snape did give homework only a few days ago which is due tomorrow.
They decided to do the homework because Harry and Hermione were already finished. Also, they were sure that Hermione would not let Harry out of her sight to hopefully stop something from happening. Ginny, Luna and Katie were working fast to help Hermione for the chance Harry wanted to go flying or go to the Forbidden Forest.
The twins come in cheering and somehow the whole room joined in cheering.
One of the twins, Harry thinks it is George, and says "Thank you thank you, well lads we've done it."
Fred says with a big smile "Cooked it up just this morning."
Hermione sing-song says "It's not going to work."
Fred and George stand in front of Hermione when Fred says "Oh yeah? And why's that Granger?"
Hermione closes her book before she points with her hand "You see this? This is an age line. Dumbledore drew it himself."
Fred says simply "So?"
Hermione rolls her eyes while she crosses her arms. She says "So a genius like Dumbledore couldn't possibly be fooled by something pathetically dimwitted such as an age potion."
George says proudly "That's why it's so brilliant."
George looks at his brother and asks "Ready Fred?"
Fred just asks "Ready George?"
They lock arms and say at the same time "Bottoms up."
They take a few steps up beside Hermione and Harry before they jump inside the age line, and cheer. They put their names in the flame and do a high-five. Suddenly the flame fires up and they're flung across the room onto the floor. When they get up they have full heads of grey hair and beards.
George says "You said.."
Fred says the same before they roll around fighting on the floor and the crowd cheer. After barely a minute they stop look at each other and start laughing. Which makes the whole room laugh except Hermione who just rolls her eyes and starts reading again. Harry can't stop laughing.
The room suddenly becomes silent as Viktor Krum walks in and puts his name in the flame. He looks at Hermione and he smiles at her. Hermione just looks at him for a second and starts reading again while also leaning into Harry. She doesn't know why she does it now as she didn't do before.
A small part of her mind says 'You want everyone to know you are Harry's and not even this grumpy seeker can compare to Harry, my Harry even if I need to share him. You only want Harry nobody else.'
She isn't happy that someone else than Harry shows interest in her as Viktor Krum barely looks at other girls, that she has noticed yesterday and today. He tries everything to not look at any of the girls, especially the fangirls who followed him this morning in the library (where she was with Harry) and also after lunch until Harry walked here to see who would enter and she followed. She wonders for a second why she cares as for her Harry is the only one she can, will and wants to love.
31st October 1994, Great Hall, Hogwarts
It is just after dinner and everyone can feel the tension rising. In just a matter of minutes, the three champions will be chosen. The tables are divided in the middle. Slowly everyone stops talking looking towards the middle. In the middle of the Great Hall with the Goblet of Fire next to him stands Professor Dumbledore.
Professor Dumbledore says "Sit down, please. And now the moment you've all been waiting for, the champion's selection!"
The Goblet of Fire has its blue fire when suddenly it turns red. The red flame becomes larger before calming down. A piece of parchment has shot out of the red flame at his highest point right before it calmed down. A name has come out. Everyone looks on anxiously at Professor Dumbledore. Professor Dumbledore grabs the piece of parchment and looks around.
Professor Dumbledore finds he who he is looking for by looking towards the Slytherin table and says "The Durmstrang champion is ... Viktor Krum!"
The Durmstrang crowd cheers and congratulates Viktor before he walks towards Professor Dumbledore who also congratulates him before sending him out of the room.
Professor Dumbledore walks back to the Goblet of Fire when another piece of parchment with a name shoots out of the Goblet of Fire. Professor Dumbledore grabs the parchment and says without looking up "The champion from Beauxbatons... Fleur Delacour."
Professor Dumbledore looks up towards the Ravenclaw table where he sees the Beauxbatons girls sitting.
The Beauxbatons girls cheer as Fleur is chosen. She is happy she is chosen and proud of herself. She sees all the girls to support her but she knows that it is not true. The only one who seems truly pleased for her is Stéphanie and Madam Maxime. She knows the others are just pretending to show loyalty to their school and that it is not divided.
As soon as she reaches Professor Dumbledore he congratulates her before she is asked to get out of the Great Hall through the same door Viktor went.
Another name comes out.
Professor Dumbledore says "The Hogwarts champion is Cedric Diggory."
Hogwarts cheer as Cedric takes the stage with Hufflepuff, obviously, being the loudest.
After Professor Dumbledore shakes Cedric's hand to congratulate him he sends him out of the room the same way as Viktor and Fleur before him.
The moment Cedric leaves Professor Dumbledore says loudly "Excellent! We now have our three champions! But in the end, only one will go down in history. Only one will hoist this chalice of champions, this vessel of victory the tri-wizard cup!"
Everyone cheers when suddenly everyone is shocked. Dumbledore notices that and immediately knows it is the Goblet of Fire. He sees another name shoot out. He takes the piece of parchment and mutters "Harry Potter?"
Professor Dumbledore shouts "Harry Potter."
Hagrid who stands to the side says unbelievably "No…..No…..No."
Professor McGonagall looks shocked and notices the shock on most of the other teachers.
Hermione and Ginny immediately stick themselves to Harry preventing him from standing up, not that Harry wants to. Everyone who looks at him notices the shock on his face.
Hermione, Ginny, Katie and Luna know he didn't do it as Hermione has been with him the whole day except his morning run but then Luna was with him or at least watching him until Ginny met them in the Great Hall and even walked him back to the Gryffindor Common Room so he could take a shower. She just barely contained herself to also watch Harry take a shower and maybe even join it as she proposed at the Burrow. She didn't propose it as she knew Hermione wouldn't be happy with that…. at least not yet.
Katie tries to get closer to Harry while Luna's normal happy smile has disappeared. When Dumbledore again calls his name Hermione makes the decision.
Hermione grabs Ginny's hand to remove them before she reluctantly removes her own hands. She pushes Harry to stand up as she says "Harry for goodness sake. Go and get out of this. I know as do most you didn't enter, there must be a way to get out of it."
Harry nods slowly as he isn't sure if there is a way out as he still remembers Dumbledore's words "Do not do so lightly, if chosen there's no turning back."
Harry slowly walks up. Dumbledore gives him the paper and wants him to go to the room the champions went to. Voices in the crowd shout out.
The loudest shouts "He's a cheat! He's not even seventeen yet."
Harry doesn't recognize the voice, but the voice is obviously right.
31st October 1994, Side Room, Great Hall, Hogwarts
Harry walks in and is surprised. The whole room is full of gold trophies, gold equipment and rare items as the first look. He has never been in this room, but wouldn't have suspected anything like this.
Viktor is the first to notice him, but he doesn't say anything. Cedric sees him and says "Hey, Harry. What are you doing here?"
Fleur faces away from him but turns when she hears his name.
She asks "Do zey need us?"
Before Harry can answer the door opens and many people enter. First, is Professor Dumbledore who immediately rushes to Harry and asks "Harry! Did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?"
Harry honestly answers "No, sir."
Professor Dumbledore asks "Did you ask one of the older students to do it for you?"
Harry again answers honestly "No, Sir. I didn't even know that would work so why should I ask."
Professor Dumbledore asks "You're absolutely sure?"
Harry sighs and says "Yes, Sir. I did not ask another student to enter my name. Honestly, I don't even want to compete I am fine with just watching from the stands."
Snape who also walked in says "Well of course he is lying. He is just like his father also …"
Professor McGonagall says "Oh, shut it, Severus. This is no time for your hatred."
Dumbledore says "Severus, Minerva is right we need to find out what happened."
Fleur asks "Deed zis leettle boy say he ees going to compete? But he ees too young and leettle!"
Harry feels himself getting mad at Fleur. He feels that someone is trying to calm him down, but it isn't working.
Madam Maxime says "I must agree with your potion master. He must be lying."
Igor Karkaroff says "Indeed or this is cheating. I don't remember if the hosting school allowed two champions or I would have hosted it. I will surely file a complaint about Hogwarts cheating. I agree with Madam Maxime he must be lying."
Professor Mad-Eye Moody says "The hell he is. The Goblet of Fire is an exceptionally powerful magical object, only an exceptionally powerful witch or wizard could have hoodwinked it. Magic way beyond the talents of a fourth year."
Igor Karkaroff says "You seem to have given this a fair bit of thought Mad-Eye."
Professor Moody says "It was once my job to think as dark wizards do Karkaroff, perhaps you remember?"
Professor Dumbledore decides to intervene and says "That doesn't help, Alastor. I leave this to you, Barty."
Mr. Crouch says "The rules are absolute, the Goblet of Fire constitutes a binding magical contract Mr. Potter has no choice, he is as of tonight... a Tri-Wizards Champion."
That is the moment someone enters. It is Ludo Bagman and says "Good evening gents … and Ladies" when he notices Madam Maxime, Fleur Delacour (mostly) and Professor McGonagall who stands behind Harry Potter.
Mr. Bagman feels some tension and asks "Is something wrong?"
Madam Maxime begins to talk in French which Ludo Bagman doesn't understand. Mr. Crouch does and says "Madam Maxime wants to tell you she is outraged. She is because Mr. Potter somehow got chosen by the Goblet of Fire beside Mr. Diggory who was chosen for Hogwarts."
Ludo Bagman says "Well, that is unexpected and a big surprise. So we have four Tri-Wizard Champions?"
When most nod, Ludo Bagman, gets a large smile and says "Well, that is wonderful."
When he sees the angry faces of Madam Maxime and Igor Karkaroff he immediately says "I mean it of course a shame especially as Mr. Potter isn't of age and the tasks are dangerous. It would, however, be a first that there are four champions."
Nobody notices the Galleons in his eyes as he thinks that he may just have found a way to make a lot of money and maybe even get out of his debt, especially to Arthur's wretched twin sons. He gave them great odds as he never thought Krum, who is also in the room, would catch the snitch but Ireland would still win. He already had a small debt and still needed to pay a few people for their debts.
By large the Weasley twins get the most money from him because of their bet. A small debt is no problem, but with the Weasley's twins bet he is in a large debt as the Weasley bet alone makes his small problem almost ten times bigger. He thinks this is his chance to help himself and Hogwarts to be the best school in Europe if not the world by helping Harry Potter, a fourth year, win the Tri-Wizard Tournament for of-age wizards and witches.
Professor McGonagall knows she needs to inform Sirius and Andi as soon as possible. She hopes that Andi and Ted as law witch and law wizard can find some way to get Harry out of this. She knows she needs Hedwig to deliver the letter as Hedwig will fly faster than any owl if it is for her master. Professor McGonagall knows she needs to ask Harry for it though and also the reason why so he can tell Hedwig and Hedwig will do her best.
Professor McGonagall says "Curfew approaches so can we get one with this so I can Mr. Potter back to the Gryffindor Tower."
Ludo Bagman says "Of course, Professor McGonagall. Barty for you the honour to tell them the first task."
Mr. Crouch says "Right the first task. The First task will be on Saturday 26th of November. The task is to prove your courage, skill, and what you learned and use your strong points in the face of danger. What the task contains is a secret to test your courage by fear of the unknown besides the courage you will need in the task. On the day of the task right before the task will begin we will explain what you need to accomplish."
"Good luck champions. I need to do many things to arrange now we have a fourth champion. I need to go."
Professor Dumbledore turns to Professor McGonagall and says "Minerva, bring Mr. Potter back to Gryffindor Common Room and then please meet me in my office."
Professor McGonagall says "I will bring him back to Gryffindor Tower before joining you."
Professor Dumbledore nods as he is almost certain Tom Riddle also known as Voldemort is behind this, but he wonders how and who. Especially who could hide from Alastor with his magical eye and Auror intuition. After the Dark Mark at the Quidditch World Cup, he was happy he managed to have Moody being the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. Him as an Auror around the school could probably prevent the ministry from wanting their own Aurors around the school or at least very few.
Meanwhile, Madam Maxime, Fleur Delacour, Igor Karkaroff and Viktor Krum left the room after Mr. Crouch told them what to expect or maybe better said what not to expect.
31st October 1994, Great Hall, Hogwarts
Cedric leaves with Harry and Professor McGonagall. Harry says "Cedric, I tell you the truth I didn't want to compete. My House even hoped it was you if none of our House was chosen."
Cedric says "I believe you, Harry. I believe as a Hufflepuff I recognize honest people or at least see when they speak honestly and everything tells me you speak the truth, Harry. Also, you do not seek glory as I can see how much you hate being in the spotlight so to speak and you rather be just Harry. There is no doubt in my mind you would enter this one way or another."
Harry gives a small smile and says "Thank you, Cedric, it means much that at least you believe me and you may be the only one in the entire school."
When they reach the giant staircase Cedric leaves Harry and Professor McGonagall as the Hufflepuff Common Room is on the ground floor near the kitchen.
When Harry and Professor McGonagall are on the fourth floor Professor McGonagall says "Harry, I believe you too. You said you didn't do it I trust so you didn't do it. Although that would beg the question who did? Also, I need to borrow Hedwig if you don't mind as Sirius, Andi and Ted need to know this as soon as possible. Maybe they can get you out of this mess."
Harry says "Mayne you are right, Why Hedwig?"
Professor McGonagall says "Well that is the fastest way to reach them with the lowest chance that Professor Dumbledore finds out just in case."
Harry says "Oh, that is alright, but I may have another way to contact them immediately."
Professor McGonagall asks "How?"
Harry grabs a mirror out of his robe and says "With this. This one was made for me and I can contact Padfoot or Moony. They also have a mirror and I can talk to them if I need to."
Professor McGonagall says "Alright, change of plans. We go to my office and if Professor Dumbledore finds and asks why, we will just say you know that some of your houses will not be happy with so it would be better if you go back to the Common Room a bit later hoping they would be asleep or at least not in the Common Room."
Harry says "I think that should work as it is probably true too."
31st October 1994, Professor McGonagall's office, Fifth Floor, Gryffindor Tower
Soon they enter Professor McGonagall's office as Head of Gryffindor House (and Transfiguration teacher). Professor McGonagall immediately guides Harry to the seat in front of her desk. She doesn't go behind her desk and says "Alright, Harry. Let's see if it works."
Harry says "I know it does. Padfoot?"
After a couple of minutes Professor McGonagall walks to her side of the desk to grab parchment as she says "Well, I guess we better get Hedwig when she suddenly hears Sirius saying Hey, pup it is good to hear from you."
Professor McGonagall immediately walks back to stand behind. She sees Sirius as he says "Hey Minnie, good to see you."
Andi almost pushes Sirius away from the mirror and asks "Minerva, what did Harry do?"
Let's end here for now. In the next chapter, we will see the talk between Professor McGonagall, Dumbledore, Snape and Mad-Eye Moody. Also, Professor McGonagall will return to talk with Andi. We will also see the reaction of certain people to Harry being chosen.
If the words allow it we see a girl succumb to peer pressure before she is set straight, a girl making the wrong decision and one girl is being watched.
