When I worked out that the age difference between Georg and Frau Schmidt was about 20 years, my mind got going because I realised she may well have been in service at the villa all her adult life, from before when Georg was born. I was intrigued and wrote this as a result of my mind exploring their relationship, something a little different to what we are familiar with!

The late afternoon breeze stirring across the lake was a welcome relief as the warm afternoon sun inched its way towards the horizon.
