Percy was having a perfectly normal day up to that point.
He woke up at 7:00am exactly. He'd actually managed to brush his hair and he had blue 'Coco Pops!' for breakfast. With the milk blue as well. He made his bed (well, actually pulled up the covers but it's the thought that counts, right?) brushed his teeth with… you've got it. Blue Colgate toothpaste and a matching toothbrush- two minute blue flashing timer installed by Leo himself. Percy knew the timer was for kids but he couldn't help it. He'd defeated the Titans and stopped Gaia waking up but he couldn't beat a little kiddie flashing toothbrush. He got over-excited at the sight of it flashing its blue light and loved the sound effect at the end- the sound of the sea. Annabeth rolled her eyes and called him Seaweed Brain whenever she saw it but that was one of the things he loved about her.
Sipping blue Diet Coke, he thought about what he would do today. Go to Goode was an obvious one. Swim Practice, ignoring the gaggle of girls drooling over him. It made him laugh as he remembered what Annabeth told him, 'You drool in your sleep,' She always made him laugh whenever he felt sad or miserable. That was also one of the reasons why Percy liked her- she was fun, easy to talk to and definitely didn't drool over boys.
Picking up his crumpled jacket, he slid it on his arms when Sally and Paul Blofis walked into the room with Percy's half-sister Esther in their hands.
'Hey Mum,' he said without looking up. 'I'm gonna go to school now,'
'Percy,' his Mum warned, 'Don't get into trouble now, okay?'
'Mu-um,' moaned Percy, 'I don't go looking for trouble. Trouble usually finds me. Can I go now?'
'Paul sighed 'Please don't blow up the school again Percy,' he asked despairingly, 'Do you know how much it cost to fix it up again. With you… seemingly destroying Kelli the empousa?'
'Ye-s, Paul,' Percy groaned. 'Now, I really want to go. Bye Mum, Paul and Esther,'
Blowing a kiss at a giggling Esther, he raced out of the door before running into an 'I LOVE PERCY JACKSON' fan group. It was all full of girls wearing short skirts and shirts that barely covered up half of their skin, squealing and gossiping about… Percy.
When they saw him, they squealed.
'OMG, MAY WAS TOTALLY RIGHT; THE PERCY JACKSON LIVES HERE!'
May? Percy groaned. The popular girl who had a boyfriend named Liam Parker who was, apparently, the second hottest boy in the whole school- second best to him and May, the girl who'd do anything for him?
'OMG, Lexie, he has an eight pack,'
'The Percy Jackson touched me! I need to put this on Face book- hash tag Percy and Amelia- hashtag ship Percamelia!
Hiding his head, he shouted a muffled, 'I'm not this Percy Jackson!' and ran off in a rush with the girls chasing after him, screaming 'Come back' and yelling 'I LOVE PJ!'
He hated this. So many girls, trying to break up him and Annabeth. Especially May. The girl that had a record of 78 dumps in a year? One of them didn't even last a full ten minutes before May screaming, 'I DUMP YOU,' on the top of her voice. He hated May N/A sorry about that if you're called May and you're nothing like this May.
This was like war against Gaia again- with May as Gaia and him, again, as a pawn. He groaned. Why was he always a pawn? Why couldn't someone else be a pawn for once? Running faster, trying to lose the girls, the bitter wind slapped into his face, making him angry.
May was the leader of a group called 'Pretty Girls' that consisted of pretty girls wearing literal girls wearing 7 inch heels and hoop earrings the size of Niagara falls. He could never get away from them. He would spend his lunchtimes diving to the bottom of the Olympic-sized pool and stay there, waiting out gossiping girls in bikinis. If it wasn't for Annabeth, soothing him, May would be in hospital by now.
He was so angry; he didn't notice a hooded figure.
Muttering under his breath and silently begging Aphrodite to please stop these girls, he bumped into a person, wearing a black cloak.
As Percy Jackson looked up, he saw a mirror image- a black haired boy with green eyes. The only difference was that he was wearing glasses and a lightning-like scar was on his forehead.
It didn't take a genius to know who it was.
Percy knew this boy even though he'd never seen him before.
And that was when the truth struck him so hard; it was like a giant ice block to him.
Two story lines had crossed.
That face was probably the last thing before Perseus Jackson fainted.
